Everyday Greetings

Today I am using the On Line Exclusive Stamp, Everyday Greetings.  If you don't have this set, you should take a look at it.  It has some super sentiments in it using fun fonts!!

I just had to order another package of this designer series paper because after I made this card I could see that I would be using it a lot.  It is so bright and springy and will be perfect for Easter cards or to brighten someone's day with a cheery get well card.  This one is pretty easy . . . just layer a couple of your favorite patterns of paper and find a shape you like for your sentiment and you are done!!

I was out the door bright and early this morning for my three month oncology check-up.  I knew I had been feeling well, but they were veery pleased with how all of my labs looked and with the actvities I have been doing.  I ended up getting another pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine (2nd of the three I need) and an RSV vaccine so both arms are kind of sore but that is better than getting sick.  It's hard to believe it has almost been a year since my transplant, but with my next appointment I have to start in with my childhood vaccines.

I promptly came home and took a nap and just now woke up so posting is a bit late today!!

With You In Mind

This is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.  I love the larger sentiments that are in this stamp set.

This card is patterned after one made my my friend, Luetta.  Her's had a bigger strip of designer series paper and a different size white circle but other than that I pretty much copied the entire thing.   I happened to have that size strip of designer series paper sitting right beside me when I was making this card so just decided to use it.  Her's also has the strip right down the middle while mine is offset just a little bit.  This is not a color combination that I would have ever put together but it certainly does work with the patterned flowered paper.

Wow . . . I am certainly looking forward to the warm-up the next few days before we go into the deep-freeze again.  I have a PT appointent this afternoon that will be much more fun to go to when I don;t freeze to death on the way.  Other than that, it is a stampy kind of day for me!!

Handmade Designs

Today I am using a stamp set that is only available if you sign up to be a demonstrator during Sale-a-Bration . . . Handmade Designs.

I have paired it with strips of designer series paper from the Bloom Impressions package and layered it onto Basic White and then onto a melon mambo card base.  I love these kind of card bcause it shows that a card does not need to take a lot of work or supplies to be a great card.  I found this card while browsing Pinterest and loved the combination of flowered paper.  Add some Baker's Twine and some of the FREE Purple Adhesive-backed Sequins and I was done!!  Easy-peasy!

Hopefully it really acually warms up this afternoon because it is COLD outside right now.  I have to go to Iowa City for an appointment this afternoon that got cancelled last week and I would rather it be a little warmer.  When I get home, I am having a "kit together" class where everyone attending will be putting the Perpetual Beauty Calendar Kit together.

I finished my book club book and can now go on to finish anothr book I started a while back . . . not only do I have UFO's (Unfinished Objects  . . . cards) in my stamping, I have UFB's (Unfinished Books . . . not a bank) to finish up this winter.

Unbounded Love

Today's card uses my favorite piece of designer series paper from the Bloom Impressions package . . . the purple one!!  I have used it a lot and will probably continue to show lots of card using it!!

Although the card base looks black it is actually Blackberry Bliss.  I used a white layer and then another layer of Blackberry Bliss. The strips across the front measure .75" X 3.75".  This is a great way to use up those strips you might have laying around from other projects.  They are not that wide and I know I had an abundance of them in my scrap pile.  The Everyday Detail Dies happened to be sitting on my counter so I grabbed those for my focal point.  Again, this card could be used for many occasions with a change of sentiment.  Add some FREE Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins and your card is done!

With the cold temperatures today I think I will stay inside until late afternoon and John has his post-hospital check-up.  The bright sunshine makes it look deceptively warm, but I am sure it is not!!!  Finishing my book club book might also be on my agenda!!

Everyday Arches

Today we are using a different sheet of the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper, this time in the yellow family.  I also used a sentiment from the Everyday Arches stamp set.

Once again the designer series paper does the bulk of the work for this card.  All it needed was a sentiment and some ribbon for embellishment and my card was done.  I can tell I need to stock up on my Daffodil Delight cardstock.  That is not a color I normally use, but it goes great with the Shy Shamrock cardstock and these two patterns of designer series paper.

This morning started out bright and early with a hair cut.  I cannot believe how fast my hair is growing once it decided to grow.  It also seem like it has come back in much thicker than it was when it left.  Whatever has caused it, I will take it!!  I am also meeting some friends for lunch and a visit and hope to fit some stamping or organizing in as well.  I know for sure that I will be watching the Vikings playoff game tonight.  They used to be my favorite team when I was a kid.

Beautiful Butterflies

The next Sale-a-Bration product I want to feature is the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper.  Both sides of this paper are gorgeous and what makes it even better is that it is FREE with a qualifying order.  Today I have paired it with the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle for a colorful birthday card.

I started by choosing my four favorite flower patterns from the six that are offered.  I cut them in 1" X 3" strips and adhered them to a piece of Basic White Cardstock.  Using Stampin' Dimensionals I adhered it to my basic White Thick Cardstock base.  I die cut a butterfly and sentiment piece, stamped them, and adhered them to the card with Mini Dimensionals.  A FREE Purple Sequin  (Sale-a-Bration item) completed my birthday card.

Today is going to be a football and basketball watching kind of day with some stamping thrown in.  I have many other things I should be doing, but as John always tells me "there is always tomorrow!".

Spring Corners

Today I have combined the Spring Corners stamp set with the Mixed Florals stamp set to make this card to share with you.  I found this card on Pinterest and knew I wanted to try and make one.

I started with a Basic Beige card base and stamped my sentiment in the upper right hand corner.  I took a piece of Basic White cardstock and embossed it with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing  Folder and layered it onto a slightly larger piece of Basic White.  I stamped the flower image and one of the green stems using Memento Black and then colored them with Stampin' Blends.  I die-cut both images and layered them onto my card and added some of the FREE Purple Sequins that are a Sale-a-Bration item.  I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out!!

Plans have changed and now only Hanna, Johan, and Juli are coming to help put the Christmas stuff away.  They should be here shortly.  It will seem very strange not to have all of the Christmas stuff around, but lik I said yesterday . . . I am ready.  Not sure that we are going to do much else other than put stuff away.  Hanna wants to leave for home so she is not driving after dark.  I may try and get next weeks Cards in the Mail ready to go after they go home.

Corner in Bloom

Today's card uses a complimentary product to the Spring Cornerss that I have been sharing . . . Corner in Bloom.  This set has a variety of corner arrangements and a couple that are straight line flower or single flower images.

This is a super simple card that could work for any occasion with a change of sentiment.  I started by stamping the corner design with Memento Black ink and then colored it in with Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Combo Packs.  After adding the sentiment, I put a pink Low Profile Dot by the sentiment and assembled my card. As long as you like coloring this is a super simple card to make!!

Today is going to be the day!!  Hanna and Jake are coming tomorrow to help me get the Christmas stuff into the basement so I am going to start packing things away today.  After being up for almost fifteen months I am ready for them to go to the basement for a while!!

Spring Corners

Looking out the window it is hard to believe spring is still a ways away.  The sun is shining brightly and you can't really tell how cold out it is.  I have a couple more Spring Corners cards to share with you before we move on to another stamp set or product.

This card uses a technique I don't use very often and with good reason.  Paper piecing can be very time consuming and I don't really have the patience for it but I really liked this card so decided to give it a try.  I only pieced the buds and the leaves.  The petals on the flowers are the designer series paper showing through.  I used a dotto adhesive and as you can see it leaves a residue.  If I were going to make another card with this technique I would use the Tombow Green Glue and just put a dot where I was going to place my piece.  I think it would make a nicer finished card. As you can see very plainly in this photo I also need to change my cutting blade on my paper cutter.  I did not realize it was that bad until I looked at the photo.

I ended up running up to Iowa City yesterday to get John some things that he wanted to eat and drink.  I was going to wait until today when it was warmer, but decided getting them was more important than warmth.  The good news is that means I can stay home today and tomorrow and either craft or read, or a little of both.  I made a casserole for supper last night and there is plenty left for leftover so my jobs are done for today!!

Spring Corners

Back again with another Spring Corners card.  I think this is the favorite of all of the cards Luetta and I made before Christmas.  This is a card that we found as we were browsing for card ideas.  I am sorry I don't remember where we found it . . . it might have been on a page by a demonstrator named Jamie.

It was very interesting how we each went about figuring out the dimensions for this card.  I started by eyeballing the size I wanted my Blackberry Bliss layer to be and went from there.  Next I stamped my sentiment on a larger piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it down to the size you see here.  I wanted it big enough to barely fit the corner words.  From there it as just a matter of fitting the rest pieces together sort of like a jigsaw puzzle till I achieved the look of the card I was CASEing.  Add to that the big butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies and a little embellishement and I was done.

John came home from the hospital yesterday.  We got home a little after noon and he has been getting along just fine.  He still has a little bit of a cough and so do I but they told us that could hang around for quite a while.  They assured us that we were no longer contagious, not that we want to go anywhere as cold as it is but at least we know we could if we wanted to.  I do need to pick up some things at a grocery store but I am waiting until tomorrow when it is supposed to be much warmer.

Spring Corners

I have another Spring Corners card to share with you today.  This one also uses the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper.  Only one thing could make this paper even better than how gorgeous it is . . . the fact that it is a Sale-a-Bration item and is FREE with a qualifying purchase.

My best advice for assembling this card is to get your designer series paper and layering piece assembled and laid onto the white cardstock so you have a guide where to stamp your sentiment. I actually cut this stamp apart so that it would fit where I wanted it to go.  I originally had the sentiment in the upper right hand corner but the card seemed top heavy so I cut my stamp apart so I could use it in the lower left hand corner.  I once again used the FREE Purple Sequins that are alsoa Sale-a-Bration item.

I am hoping when I get to the hospital this morning that John is able to come home.  I guess we shall see when I get up there.

This week, I am focusing on the Spring Corners Bundle which is an On-Line Exclusive and some Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper, Ribbon, and Embellishments.  These products will be available tomorrow!!

Today started out with a trip to the hospital to visit John and see if they were going to let him come home today.  However, he still needs oxygen so we are hoping for tomorrow.  He was super sleepy so I decided to come home and work on some things here instead of sitting and watching him sleep!!

Celebrate Love Mix and Match Ephemera Pack

Today we have yet another card made with some of the pieces in the Celebrate Love Ephemera Pack.

Paired with the Greeting for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack, I love how you can use this package of die-cuts for any kind of cards . . . birthday, wedding, anniversary, thank yous.  Once again some bling would have made this card a little better . . . some rhinestones, or maybe some colored  faceted gems.

I left early this morning to head to the hospital in hopes of catching the doctor when they made their rounds.  When I got there I found that they rounded at 7:00 this morning and that is the time they will be there in the morning.  I guess I will depend on the nurses to relay anything they think I need to know.  John is still needing oxygen support o he will be there a couple more days.  I believe their goal is that he comes home without any oxygen.  In the meantime he is where he needs to be.

Celebrate Love Mix and Match Ephemera Pack

Another day, another ephemera card.  This is the first one I tried and I got a little more adventurous after that.

I think this card would be vastly improved with a little bling but I am trying to show how easily you can make an acceptable card with just what is provided in the package.  See how you could jazz it up a little when you make yours.

Yesterday afternoon and last night proved to be very interesting.  John was not feeling well and I knew he needed to go to the doctor.  He hadn't eaten for two days and had slept most of that time . . . add to that, the cough he had and I knew a doctor was in his future.  However, when I went to get him up to go to the car, he was so weak that I knew I would never get him all the way to the car, so called the ambulance for transport to the hospital.  Once we got there, they put him on oxygen right away . . . his low oxygen rates certainly explained his confusion and weakness.  They tested him for a variety of viruses and sure enough he has covid.  Because of his need for oxygen and the confusion they admitted him and he will be there for a few day.  As a precaution, they tested me as well, and I tested positive too.  I did not get home from the hospital till after 12:30 last night, so I am staying home and resting today.  Luckily my five days of isolation will be over on Monday since I have been asymptomatic.  Then I just have to wear a mask in public for five more days.  It seems like it is always something!!

Spring Celebration Mix and Match Ephemera Pack

Today's card is another card made from the ephemera packages.  As cold as it is outside I was hoping the birds and flower would remind me of spring.

This is once again one of the cards from the Stampin' Up! website that showcases the packages.  The card base is from the Stripes & Florals Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes.  You get 10 softly printed cards for $10.00.  Then you can just go to town building your card anyway you would like.  The great thing about these is you can lay it all out and see if you like it before you stamp it or adhere anything down permanently.

I left home early this morning for my three month MRI.  It was cold but at least the roads were not slick.  The results just came in and it is still clear so there is no recurrence, thankfully!!  I am almost a year out from transplant, which seems crazy, but hopefully it will be full steam ahead in 2025!!
