Autumn To Remember

Three weeks ago, I went to a Girls' Weekend, and we were supposed to take a small favor. I decided to resurrect these maple cookie favors from several years ago, only with a new stamp set, An Autumn To Remember.  I got the original idea from my friend Dawn about seven or eight years ago. I was surprised that Aldi still had the leaf cookies, and they hadn't even increased in price all that much.

They are super simple to make . . . just take a piece of cardstock, fold it in half, and decorate as you wish.  I put two cookies in one of our clear envelopes and then adhered the topper on top of the envelope with Tear and Tape.

I made about thirty of these but forgot to take a picture with all of them.  I only have four left, as shown below.  They make a great easy favor or gift if you are in a hurry!!

It surely is good to see the sun after so many rainy days in a row!!  Today is another appointment day with a mammogram and a massage.  As often as I have been scoped, scanned, and x-rayed, I don't really think i need a mammogram, but my doctor seems to think I do.  Since i am a ruler follower, usually, I will do as she says.  I hope to get some stamping or scrapbooking done when I get home.

Autumn Expressions

Back again with the last of last week's Cards in the Mail.  I just can't seem to get past posting fall cards.  Maybe it's because I know what comes after fall, and I am trying to postpone it as long as possible.

This card was made with the other half of the Designer Series Paper that I used in a card I posted last week.  You can see that card here.  The rest of the materials are exactly the same, except the DSP is on the right-hand side of this card instead of the left-hand side.

Today is going to be a busy day . . . a physical therapy appointment, delivering some stamps, a nail appointment, and voting.  It would have been nice if the rain would have held off, but at least it is not snow!!!

Sweetly Scripted

Another day . . .another fall Cards in the Mail card.  This one is a little different as you can see.

I started with a 3.5" square of the designer series paper and cut it into four strips . .. each one .25" wider than the last.  The first strip on the left was .5" and I went from there.  They were layered onto a piece of Cajun Craze cardstock.  That was then adhered to the card front with dimensionals as was the sentiment strip.  Add some embellishments and you are done.  The hardest part for me was deciding which designer series paper I wanted to use.

Today is starting out with yet another doctor appointment . . . .I thought I was done with them for a while but it turns out I am not.  We are going to see if we can figure out why I am having headaches and neck pain.  I think it is just arthritis, but they want to make sure that is the source of the headaches and nothing else creeping in.

Autumn Leaves

With all the rain we have been getting, it won't be too long before we see leaves only on the cards we make! This pretty leafy card is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

This is a layout that I used a couple years ago, and I thought I would try it with different fall leaf paper.  I think it worked well with the new paper and would be a great card if you wanted to make a lot in a hurry!  All it takes is a 1.75" strip of designer paper so you can get three cards from a 6" X 6" piece of paper.

We had a great time stamping and visiting at the retreat this weekend.  There were only 7 of us there so it was easy to visit with everyone.  We made some cool cards and projects, and I will be sharing some of them in the coming days.

Today is going to be a day of rest!!

Autumn Leaves

The first of November calls for another beautiful Splendid Leaves card.  This is another one of the week's Cards in the Mail.

This card is one where the paper does most of the work for you. It is a funky fold card with only the top flap opening. I took my piece of designer series paper, cut 1.5" off of the bottom, and adhered it to the Very Vanilla cardstock inside the card. Add a fancy sentiment piece and some embellishments, and you are done.

Sorry for not posting yesterday morning.  I went to run some errands first thing in the morning and totally forgot about it when I got home.  In fact, I sat down in my recliner, promptly fell asleep, and took an almost four-hour nap.  I guess I must have been tired.

Today, I need to make up for lost time . . . I am off on another stamping weekend this weekend, and I need to get my stuff ready for that.  Luckily, I only need to cut supplies for nine people, and it is only two projects, so I think I can get it done.  Luetta is coming to my house when she gets done with school, and we are off to Lockridge for a fun stamping weekend.  We are staying at a shouse, and I am not sure about Internet connections, so if I don't post tomorrow, I will do it Sunday morning as Luetta and I are coming home Saturday evening.

Garden of Thanks Kit

I finished up another kit last night . . . The Garden of Thanks Kit.  You have today and tomorrow to still get this kit on sale.

The Garden Of Thanks Kit creates nine beautiful cards with coordinating envelopes!  They’re so pretty and quick to put together too!

The kit includes everything that you need to put the kit together, including an ink spot, embellishments and adhesives!  And it includes this stamp set.

The large floral image is stunning on this card, such pretty colors!

I love the pretty flowers on the background of this card, the sentiment is so pretty too!

See the gold touches on this card.  I think that is one of my favorite touches on this set of cards.

Be sure to order your kit today!!

Yesterday morning, I had an eye appointment, which was longer than anticipated.  My eyes have shown no internal change since the retina clinic started seeing me, but they were a little concerned about the headaches I have been having.  I just had an MRI that was good three weeks ago, but they wanted to check with my oncologist to make sure he did not want to get another one.  It took a while for the doctors to communicate.  My feeling is that since these started when I had my carcinoma removed, it is still healing from that.  We will watch and see what happens, but it was mid-afternoon till I got home.  Needless to say, I didn't get much crafting done until last evening.

Today looks to be a typical rainy fall day. I have quite a bit of stuff to get done for another stamping retreat I am going to this weekend so it will be a good day to stay home.

Autumn Expressions

The beautiful leaves that I can see when I look out my living room window have inspired me to use the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper for this week's Cards in the Mail.  This is the first of them.

Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry are the perfect colors to compliment the paper.  I used a lot of strips of the paper to make it go further and to be able to get more than one card out of the each 6" X 6" sheet of paper.  You will want to get your package of the paper before it either sells out or becomes unavailable for a period of time.

After two months of pretty much non-stop activity I am looking forward to the quietness of this week.  the only thing on the schedule is an eye appointment for me tomorrow.  Other than that I think my recliner and a good book have a date for many of the days.  I know that is what I am doing today!!

Autumn To Remember

Today's card uses a stamp set and designer series paper from the Scrapbooking Brochure.  You can find this on line here.  I have used many of the products in this catalog in my cardmaking as well as scrapbooking.

This is a super simple layout and doesn't take much time to make but is still pretty cool.  As is the case with many of the Cards in the Mail, the designer series paper does the bulk of the work.  I have primarily used this pattern in most of my cards but there are alo four shaded pages that use Early Espresso, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Pecan Pie.

Today looks like it is going to be another gorgeous day.  We have someone coming to do our pre-winter furnace check today.  It is probably a good thing they are coming today because last week when we had some pretty chilly nights it decided it did not want to come on.  It's a good thing that they days have still been warm and sunny.  I may try and get some stamping done this afternoon or I might try to do some organizing in my stamping room.

Wildflower Design

Today's card in another Cards in the Mail card from last week.

I had a lot of 1" strips laying around so decided to try one of these cards.  I had seen several examples while I was browsing other ideas and figured it would be a good way to use up some of those strips.  This would be a great way to stamp a bunch of cards and leave the tag blank until you knew what occasion you might need a card for.

I had my first In Person stamp class at the house yesterday.  There were only a couple of ladies that came but I think that time frame and class ideas will work out pretty well.  I am hoping to try to do that twice a month on Monday afternoon and evenings.

Everyday Greeting

Today's card is one from last weeks packet of Cards in the Mail.  It uses another of the beautiful scenes in the Autumn Splendor Designer Series Paper.

It doesn't really look like it in the photo but I started with a card base of Crushed Curry and added a layr of Basic White which had been embossed with the Dashing Designs Folder.  From there I just built my card by layering the designer series paper.  The sentiment piece is one I picked up from the clearance rack . . . white die cut word strips.  They were a product that Stampin' Up inherited from Close to My Heart.  I added a couple of embellishments to cover up the holes that were on each side of the strip.

There were no posts since last Thursday as I spent the weekend at a Girls Retreat in Wisconsin.  There were no planned projects . . . everybody worked on whatever they wanted to.  I worked on getting some of my Paper Pumpkin boxes emptied and cross-stitched a little.  It was just a fun relaxing weekend spent with good friends.
