Saturday Stamp Fest

We had a great time at our Stamp Fest on Saturday, October 25th.  While there were only 7 stampers there, a good time was had by all.

Here are the projects we did in the morning.
Here are the projects we did in the afternoon.

I'm Not Ready For Snow...But I Love the Card!!

Had to take a little time out to celebrate my baby's birthday.  Hard for me to believe she is 17 years old already.  Wow!!

Isn't this the neatest card?  I love the way the icicles hang down from the top.  Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds make great icicles.  This is another card we will be doing at an upcoming stamp camp.

Inspired By Nature Fall Card

I was browsing some of my favorite stamping blogs and came across this card by another demonstrator.  Isn't it beautiful? With the weather we have been having lately, I thought this would be a perfect card for me to try and make tonight.  This will definitely be one of the cards we make at an upcoming stamp camp.

Deer Friends

Deer Friends is my favorite new hostess set.  These cards are made with that set.  We will be making both of these cards at upcoming stamp camps.

Samples From My Last Downline Meeting

Here are a few cards from my downline demonstrators meeting last Saturday.  The first two cards use Inspired By Nature.  Both cards use Basic Brown ink and Basic Brown cardstock.  The top one also uses Tangerine Tango while the next one uses Kiwi Kiss cardstock.

The last card uses Bella Rose Designer Series paper and Riding Hood Red cardstock.  Heard From the Heart and black ink are used for the greeting.

Holiday Flip Album Class

HOLY COW!!!   I didn't realize that it had been so long since I had posted to the blog.  A lot has happened since the first of September.  First of all I want to invite you to a new class that I am having.......A Holiday Flip Album made with the I Wish Simply Scrappin Kit.  You care going to FLIP for this beautiful mini scrapbook.  The finished size is just over 6" square.  Some of you might have seen some of the other albums that I have made about prom or sports, but this has to be my all time favorite.  Cost for this class will be $25 and will include everything you need to complete this beautiful album.  I will be offering this class at two different times if there is enough interest.  The first class will be Sunday afternoon, November 10th at 1:30 at Godfather's Pizza in Iowa City.  the second class will be Monday night, November 11th at 6:30 at Godfather's pizza.  In order to make sure that I have all of the kits and supplies here in time for this class I need you to RSVP by Sunday, October 26th.  Please let me know which time you would like when you make your reservation.  If you live out of the area or these dates do not work for you another option would be to gather ten of your friends and I will bring this class to you.  Email me to set up a date.  these albums would make awesome gifts for those hard to buy for people.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Trying again

Here is the 2nd card I tried to upload this morning.  It worked much better this evening.
This card uses the Dream du Jour stamp set again.  It uses Kiwi Kiss cardstock and ink, Pink Pirouette cardstock and ink and Whisper White cardstock.  It also uses the Bella Rose DSP.  The accessories used to make this card are 5/8" Old Olive Gros Grain ribbon, Light Pink Gros Grain ribbon, Button Bouquet, Dazzling Diamonds, Paper Piecing Mat and Tool, the Big Shot Scallop Circle Die, Stampin' Dimensionals, and a 2-Way Glue Pen.  I hope it was worth the wait.
Here are a couple of cards that come from my demonstrator website.  I did not make these cards but wanted to share them with you because I think they are very cool.

This first card uses Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Whisper White cardstock.  It also uses the Bella Rosa DSP.  The inks are Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red.  Accessories used are Pretty in PInk Taffeta Ribbon, mini glue dots,  5 Petal Flower Punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches, Stampin' Dimensionals and also the Stampin; Up! paper snips.  The greeting and the small flowers shown here are from the Live Your Dream set that has been discontinued from the Occasions mini catalog, however you could use any greeting and flowers you desired.  The layout of the card really intrigued me.

I am having great difficulty loading my second card example so I will try later this afternoon.
As you can see, me resolution for adding to my blog on a daily basis fell by the wayside with the beginning of school.  My class is so good this year that hopefully I can get back to the routine of adding daily.   You will notice that I have added a link on the side to the Stampin' Up! project of the month.  I hope you check it out and enjoy it.  I will try to add others as they become available.

Dreams Du Jour

I have been busy the last couple of days getting my room ready for school.  My goodness..........where did the summer go?   I guess it is time to start thinking about all of those fall stamping projects that I saw at convention that I would like to get done.  Here is a card made with the Dreams Du Jour stamp set.  I particularly like the saying that goes with this set.I have used the new colors Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss for this card as well as the new Designer Series Paper Bella Rose.  It is accented with a button from our Button Bouquet. Burgundy Gros Grain Ribbon and the corners from the Photo Corner punch.

Well, I am off to do some house cleaning.......hopefully I will be able to stamp more this evening.

Eastern Blooms 15% off sale set

Eastern Blooms is another set that Stampin' Up! is offering at a 15% discount from now until September 30th.  The first picture is the book mark that we made at convention.  It uses new ribbon from the catalog as well as a scalloped chipboard square.  Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, and Tangerine Tango are the colors used in this bookmark.

This second card uses Pink Pirouette, Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White cardstock.  The ink colors are Pink Pirouette, Cameo Coral, and Chocolate Chip.  Chocolate Chip gros grain ribbon embellishes this card.

New In Colors and Some Convention SWAPS

Are you ready for some new colors?  The In Colors this year are Pink Piroutte, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, and Pacific Point.  These 6 colors make a great addition to the 48 colors Stampin' Up! already offers.

I used Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, and Tangerine Tango for my convention swap.  the image in the scallop circles are from a new hostess set called Deer Friends which is a level 2 set. The words are from a set called Heard From the Heart which is one of the sets that Stampin' Up! is offering at a 15% discount now through September 30th.

This card is one that we made at my New Catalog Open House on August 10th.  This card used Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, and Tangerine Tango.  Aren't these great color combinations?  The stamp sets used were Wow Flowers and Heard from the Heart
again.

News From the Stampin' Convention

Sorry to have been absent so long. It has been a very eventful summer healthwise in the lives of the Wilson's. The good news is that everything is OK now and we are all ready to get back to doing what we enjoy doing........which for me is stamping and sharing ideas. I was very fortunate to be able to attend the Stampin' Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah the first part of August. Convention was a blast and I can;t wait to share with you all of the wonderful things this next year holds!  It was very exciting to be with 6,000 other demonstrators as we got our first look at the 2008 Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog. We had classes and make and takes that are awesome and will be featured in the next few months.  I swapped cards and got lots of great new ideas.   I got a renewed sense of purpose as far as my stamping goes.  One of my goal is to do more workshops, offer more classes, and also try to get a couple of Stamping and Scrapbooking clubs going.  I am also going to try and be more regular with my posting to my blog and sharing ideas with all of you.
I want to say that when you get anything delivered by UPS, please let them know how much you appreciate these guys!!  UPS bought all the demonstrators at Convention the Ronald McDonald House stamp set!!!  Remember that $2 is donated to the Ronald McDonald House for each set sold.  There were 6000 of us at Convention so that is a $12,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald Houses.
I have a few classes that I am working on putting together so check back in the next few days to see what I will  be offering.  I will also post pictures of some of the swaps I either made or received.

A Proud Mom

I have to be a proud Mom and post some pictures of Hanna and her date on prom night.  It's hard to believe she is old enough to be going to prom.  A fun night was had by all.

Aren't they a cute couple?

SWAP Cards

Here are the cards I made for my SWAP last weekend.

I used Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, and Glossy White cardstock.  I stamped the flower images in Purely Pomegranate and the leaves in Wild Wasabi. I took a white crayon and colored over the parts that I wanted to leave white.  I then sponged Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi over the glossy cardstock.   After that i took a paper towel and rubbed the remaining ink off of the cardstock where the crayon was.

Live Your Dream

Sorry it has been so long since  I have posted any new cards.  This has been a rough week at the Wilson household.  I have been home from school all week with upper respiratory infections and flared up asthma.    You know I am sick when I don;t even want to look at cards or stamp anything.  I did go to a stamping downline meeting last Saturday and have a whole bunch of cool things to show you over the next couple of weeks.

These next two cards feature a set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.....Live Your Dream.  This first card uses the Spring Fling Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery cardstock.  The image was stamped with Versamark and then used Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery ink so the colors would pop over the Versamark.  I also sponged around the edges.  I used the ticket corner punch and Pretty in Pink brads.
The second card uses Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White cardstock as well as Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper.  Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi inks were used.  I also used the Groovy Guava Double Stitched Ribbon, the Paper Piercer and Mat Pack, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds and the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware.
Well tomorrow is prom day so we will be quite busy with a girls day out getting Hanna ready for prom.  I'll post a couple of pictures tomorrow.

Essence of Life

Here is a card that we made at the Spring Saturday Stamp fest.  This card uses the Essence of Life stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog.  It also uses Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  It also uses the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper.   Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip inks were used with the rock 'n roll technique.

Last Project Before We Leave for New York

I just love the Ginger Blossom Designer Paper.  This note card purse and 4 matching notecards are made from the Ginger Blossom Designer paper, Ruby Red, Certainly Celery, River Rock, and Pretty in Pink cardstock.   We will be making a purse like this one at our March Stamp Camp on March 31st.

If you would like to make your reservation so you can get the pattern for this purse, email or call today.

Recent Stamping Projects

I just love the stamp set Blossoms Abound.  For these cards I chose to use Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, and Whisper White cardstock.  The inks are Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, Always Artichoke,  and Mellow Moss.  The edges are sponged with Elegant Eggplant.

These cards are made with the Sale-a-Bration set Merci.  The lilac card is made using Lovely Lilac and Whisper White cardstock and Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper.  The red card is made using Rose Red and Whisper White cardstock and Certainly Celery Designer Series Paper.  The images have been colored with corresponding watercolor crayons and then blended with the Aquapainter.   Lovely Lilac and Rose Red brads were used.

This card is made using another Sale-A-Bration set....Friendship Blooms.  Cardstock colors are Basic Grey, Soft Sky, and Whisper White. Images are stamped in Basic Grey.  Rhinestone brads and gray taffeta ribbon add the accents for this card.
