Friday!!!!!

If you wanted to make a ton of Christmas cards this year, then I have a sample for you. It is so easy to make and put together.

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Gold Brads

Hanna is coming home for the weekend so am sure there will be a lot of creating going on, plus several shopping trips, and a couple of trips to Mount Pleasant to Old Threshers. My Birthday Buddy at work has a birthday on Monday, so we plan to make a rosette flower bouquet and maybe a birthday banner. I will post pictures when we get them done.

Stay cool and have a great weekend.

Birthday Wishes

I love how easy this card is to make, but still has the same impact as other handmade cards. This is another card from the display boards at convention.

Stamp Set: Stamp set used here is retired but can substitute the one from Bring On the CAke
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Old Olive, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Brights Collection DSP
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon

Hopefully my classroom is cooler when I get there this morning than it was yesterday. It started out at 84 degrees and got up as high as 87 degrees. Mornings are pretty good, but by afternoon both the students and I are toast!!

That's My Daughter

So....as some of you know Hanna is a junior in the education department at Central College in Pella. She was recently told she needed to get a journal for one of her math classes. Like a true crafter, she interpreted "get" as "make", went to her room and quickly came up with the following. It is so cute!!!

Stamp Set: Broadstreet Alphabet
Cardstock: Storytime DSP (this is the one she won at convention)

I think we are in for another VERY hot day today. I can safely say that fourth graders get a lot hotter or at least they generate more heat than first graders. Stay cool!

Stamp Club Ready To Go

Stamp Club is all organized and ready to start. Cards that we make at club will be a little more detailed and use special techniques that are not easy to do during regular card class. This is one of those cards.

Stamp Set: Everything Eleanor, Petite Pairs
Cardstock: Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit
Accessories: Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, 3/8" Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon

If you want to be part of a buying club that meets monthly and works on more detailed projects, contact me and we will get you set up!!!

Here's hoping for a cooler day today.....my classroom was almost 85 degrees when I got there yesterday morning and it only got worse throughout the day. Somehow, I don't think today will be any cooler.

Have a great day!!

Sneak Preview of Tonight

The cardstock is cut, the car is loaded, and I am ready for stamp class tonight. Here is a preview of just one of the cards we will be making.

Stamp Set: Googly Ghouls, Toxic Treat
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Howlstooth and Scaring Bone DSP
Ink: Basic Black

See you tonight!!

This Too Shall Pass

Every once in a while a stamp set speaks to me regardless of what it looks like. This stamp set is one of those. Whenever adversity would rear its ugly head my mom would always say, "This too shall pass". So of course this stamp set was one of the first I bought from the new catalog.

Stamp Set: From My Heart
Cardstock: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Patio Party DSP
Ink: Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze, and Midnight Muse Markers
Accessories: Label Collection Framelits, Stripes Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Neutral Designer Buttons, Linen Thread

What stamp sets speak to you?

Old Card...Great Idea

I was looking through some older cards and came across this one that has always been one of my favorite fall cards. The sentiment is retired but the stamp set is still a current one.

Stamp Set: Fall Foliage
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Always Artichoke

It seems very weird not to be on the go this weekend. I am busy cutting cardstock for Monday and Wednesday nights. See you there!

Friday!!!!!

Hanna was totally taken with the punch art cards that were at convention. While this one was on the Spanish boards, it would be very easy to switch out the greeting for any occasion. In fact, this may be me tonight with the cucumbers on my eyes and just relaxing after my first week in fourth grade. It has gone WAY better than I ever expected, but it has still been a long week.

Don't forget there is still time to let me know you are coming to stamp class on either Monday or Wednesday night. See you there!!

Imagine the Possibilities

Today's card uses another one of my favorite color combinations!!! Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive!!

Stamps: Word Play, Mixed Bunch
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Antique Brads, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Blossom Punch

We have set our date for the Saturday Stamp Fest...October 20th. Mark your calendars and join us for a fun day!!

Sleigh Ride

Before we talk about today's card...I have to tell you fourth grade is awesome. I could not believe how independent they are. I know it is only the first day....but it was an excellent start to the school year.

Today we have another card that was on the display board at convention. I love this Open Sleigh stamp set.

Stamp Set: Open Sleigh

Ink: Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Big Shot, Scallop Edge Border Punch, Victoria Crochet Trim, very Vanilla Seam Binding, Antique Brads

Remember there is a stamp class on Monday, August 27th at Godfather's Pizza. Shoot me an email to let me know you are coming. Check back tomorrow for another card idea.

Googly Ghouls Again

Today's card is another one made with Googly Ghouls. I can't remember if I got this card as a convention swap or if it is one we made at our Saturday stamp day. Sorry.

Stamps: Googly Ghouls
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Chevron Embossing Folder, Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Googlies, 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon, Black Brads

Today is the first teaching day for me. It should be interesting. I must admit I am a little nervous about teaching fourth grade this year but am sure once I get into it, it will be a lot of fun.

A True Stamper

Here is another card that we made at our shoebox swap at convention. This card was designed by LeeAnn from North Dakota. She is an awesome stamper and has really cool ideas. This card uses only builder wheels...no stamps!

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Snowflake Party,Good Cheer, and Linked Lace Builder Wheels, Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Large Scallop Edgelits, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dotted Ribbon, Basic Jewels

So...........we moved Hanna in yesterday. It was hilarious when she wanted to get her stamping supplies organized on her shelf before she unpacked anything else. A true stamper at heart!!!

Little Bit of Good

I love today's card both for its look but more importantly for its message.

Stamp Sets: Pursuit of Happiness
Cardstock: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink: Midnight Muse
Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Basic Pearls, Crumb Cake Seam Binding

Well, the cars are packed and everything is ready for the move back to Pella. It's hard to believe how fast the summer has flown by. Before you know it, Christmas will be here!!

Life Shared

Life Shared---what a wonderful thought!!! This is a stamp set that Hanna wanted and I didn't particularly like. However, after working with it for a while, I can see enormous possibilities!!!

Stamp Sets: Life Shared, Itty Bitty Banners
Cardstock: Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Storytime DSP
Inks: Black Stazon, Stampin Markers of your choice
Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Bitty Banner Framelits, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot

Today is a busy day at the Wilson household. We are packing and loading the cars in preparation for Hanna to move back to college. It will be easy peasy this year, though, because after three years she has considerably downsized what she takes back to school and we have only a half flight of stairs to take stuff up to her room. We will be on the road tomorrow headed toward Pella.

Check back tomorrow for another card that I will try to get posted before we leave!!

Blooming With Kindness and a Classroom

Today's card is one I am particularly fond of. I love the color combination!!

Stamp Set: Blooming With Kindness
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Scaringbone and Howlstooth DSP
Ink: Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, 1 inch square punch

As promised, here are some pictures of my classroom. This year I have incorporated quite a bit of stamping craftiness in the decor. It was really kind of fun coming up with an all new theme and trying to then brainstorm all of the things that could be done!!

Make a Cake

Here is another great card we made at our Stampin' Saturday!! When Summer Starfruit first came out I was not a fan at all, but I have to tell you , it is growing on me by leaps and bounds!!!

Enjoy the rain today!!!

He doesn't look all that frightening, does he?? This Halloween card was designed by a demonstrator friend, Marguerite, from North Dakota. It is one of the cards we made in our shoebox swap one night at convention.

Stamps: Frightening Feline
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Howlstooth and Scaring Bone DSP
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Label Collection Framelits, 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

I am off for my last day of unstructured work in my classroom. Hanna and I are putting all of the finishing details into the room decor this morning. I will post a picture tomorrow and you can see where we have used a lot of our creativeness in making a warm learning environment. Happy Stamping today!!

Very Versatile!!

Wouldn't this make a great card to send to a little guy for Halloween. This is one that we made at a demonstrator meeting a couple of weeks ago. I am sorry I don't remember who's idea this was, but it certainly was a good one. Change the colors up a little and use little girl stamps and you have a perfect card for birthday giving. Or even use Christmas colors and Jolly Bingo Bits and you have a Christmas card!!

Stamps: Spooky Bingo Bits
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Midnight Musse, Not Quite Navy, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit
Ink: Midnight Muse
Accessories: 1 1/4 inch square punch, 1 inch circle punch

Stamp camp was a lot of fun last night. We had a lot of stampers, some of them for the first time. Join us for the next stamp night on August 27!!!

It's back to Science training for me today!! And then another stamp night at my house tonight. Stop by if you want to join us!!!

Life is a Daring Adventure

Hanna and I had a great time at the fair yesterday and working in the Central Booth. Let me tell you, the fair is a great place to people watch. We saw ALL kinds of things!!!!

Today we are off to spend the day in my classroom again getting ready for a new school year. I start back on Monday in earnest with some Science workshops. Summer has been great, but it is time to get back into a scheduled routine!!

Don't forget about stamp class on Monday night. Shoot me an email if you would like to come!! See you there!!

Making Your Own Background Paper

Making your own background paper with embossing folders, the Big Shot, a brayer, and some ink is really very simple. That is what Hanna did on this Halloween card she designed for our Big Shot night. She brayered over the Spider Web with Basic Gray ink and then ran it through the Big Shot. The results are great, I think.

Stamps: Toxic Treat
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Black Stazon
Accessories: Spider Web embossing folder, Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, brayer, Basic Jewels, Stampin' Sponges

Hanna and I are working at the State Fair tonight in the Central Booth. It should be a great time and I think the weather should be good, although we will be inside so I guess it doesn't really make that much difference. Check back tomorrow for another great card!!

Flash Fabric Sale

Stampin Up is having a fabric sale on these extra wide fat quarters (27" X 18"). They are only $0.99 while supplies last. You can order them on line through my stamping website

lyndawilson.stampinup.net

or you can shoot me an email and I will put together an order tonight. These are perfect for all of your material crafting projects.

My Favorite Background Stamp

Today's card is one we did a while back at a stamp class and uses my favorite background stamp, Hello Doily, and probably my favorite new color, Raspberry Ripple.

Stamps: Hello Doily, Perfectly Penned
Cardstock: Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White
Ink: Raspberry Ripple
Accessories: Raspberry Ripple Marker, Color Spritzer Tool, Silver Brads, 1/16" handheld punch

Hanna and I are off to Des Moines this afternoon. She is attending a concert at the State Fair tonight and I get to spend the evening with my brother and sister-in-law. I am sure there will be a lot of sharing of swaps we received in Salt Lake City.

Punch Art Ghosts

Hanna has become infatuated with punch art since returning from Salt Lake City. Today's card is one she designed last night using the owl punch.

Stamps: Googly Ghouls
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Scaring Bone and Howlstooth DSP
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Owl Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Crochet Trim, Googlie Eyes

Tonight is the "So You Want to be a Big Shot" class in my home in Wellman. If you would still like to come, shoot me an email and I would love to see you tonight!! We have some great projects. Monday's stampers all seemed to love them.

Big Shot Projects

Today's card is one we made at the Big Shot class last night. It uses a ton of Big Shot products and would be very versatile depending on the greeting you added.

Stamps: Word Play
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Oval Accents Bigz Clear Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Big Shot, Essentials Paper-Piecring Pack, Pierce Mat, and Paper-Piercing Tool, Basic Pearls

If you missed last night, we had a great deal of fun. Notice the bouquet of flowers in the jar. Hanna whipped those up while I was taking a shower getting ready to go last night using the Big Shot and the Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die. If you would like to know more about creating with the Big Shot, shoot me an email or give me a call and can set up a time for you to learn more!!

Be A Big Shot Night

Tonight is the "Be A Bigshot" FREE stamp night at Godfather's Pizza in Iowa City. Be sure and stop by and see all of the things this amazing machine can do and receive 10% off any Big Shot products in the catalog or mini catalog, including the Big Shot itself!!!

This is another card picture that I took at convention. I don't have this set, but it is on my wish list. It makes some pretty cute Halloween cards, but can be used for many other things as well. Sorry for the fuzzy picture.

Stamps: Bootiful Occasions
Cardstock: Gumball Breen, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Back Stazon, Tangerine Tango, Variety of Stampin' Markers
Accessories: Spider Web embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents framelits, Big Shot, Scallop Border punch, Gold Brads

Well, I am off to work in my classroom today, before the Bigshot class tonight. See you there!!

Fall candle

When Hanna and I saw this ensemble on the display boards at convention we immediately knew we wanted to make one for our Thanksgiving dinner centerpiece. The leaves are made from the new die that is in the Holiday Mini and the candle has been rolled on the En Fracais background stamp using Black Stazon. Isn't it pretty!!!

Flip Wedding Album

Last night Hanna and I finished the flip album she is giving today as a wedding present. She was the photographer of their engagement pictures so we used those photos in the album. These albums are so cool because as you can see they are compact...measuring only 6"X 6", but they have so many flaps and openings that they can showcase 10 full size photos and 8 smaller photos on the flaps.

We used cardstock and DSP from my stash of retired products. I think it turned out pretty sweet!! If you would like to know more about making one of these albums, shoot me an email or give me a call.

My Stamp Room and Blue Ribbon Card

Sorry for the late post today..........I had to go to the dentist first thing this morning..........NOT my favorite thing in the world!!! Sorry to any folks that work in the dental field!!

Our card today comes from one I got as a convention swap.

Stamps: Blue Ribbon
Cardstock: Island Indigo, real Red, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Stripes embossing Folder, Big Shot

It is really nice to have things cleaned up and put away so I can enjoy working in my room without having to constantly be looking for something. As you can see I have a nice window with very bright sunlight right in front of my drafting table.

Everything else in my room either came from a garage sale or was built a long time ago when this was a sewing room. All it took was some paint to make it all look coordinated and the ambition to do it....which I have my daughter and sister-in-law to thank for. Without them, it would still be a jumbled mess!!!

Today's project is to make a small photo album that Hanna can use as a wedding present. She took a friend's engagement pictures and we thought it would be nice to make an album from them. Look for pictures tomorrow!!
