Happy Halloween

Both of my daughters are very afraid of spiders...so much so that when they were younger a t-shirt was decorated for my husband that said "Spider Patrol".  But how can you be afraid of such a cute guy as Mr. Googlie Eyed Spider????

Thanks Is For Giving

Stamp Camp last night was fun and I met some new stampers.  We even picked out cards for the next stamp camp and a project for stamp club.  I am never that ahead of the game...so thank you to those that helped me figure that out so early!!!

Now that Halloween is almost over we are looking ahead to the next holiday.....Thanksgiving.

Stamps:  Seasonal Sayings
Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso,
Whisper White Polka Dot Parade DSP
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Elegant Lines Embossing Folder,
Big Shot, Extra Large Oval Punch,
Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon

I love the way the oval can come together to make pumpkins....if you want really fat pumpkins, try using five ovals instead of three.

After burning the candle at both ends since before we left to go on our cruise, I think it is time to let it rest a while.  There is not much on my schedule the rest of the week, other than Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday night.  I may just pick up a book and read in the evenings and do a little relaxing.  What are you going to do to take care of yourself???

A Very Busy Day Yesterday

Wow!!! I can't believe I forgot to post yesterday.  I could have sworn I did it.  I guess I was just so excited about my day that I forgot it.  Hanna and I spent all day yesterday at a fellow demonstrator's Stamp Day.  Susie Wood is so talented and has a heart of gold. She had so many projects for us to do I am amazed that we got them all done.  Here is one of the things we made.....

This candle was so simple to make, yet looks so elegant. Of course, Susie had a lot of the work already done for us, so all we had to do was assemble it.

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake,  Champagne Glimmer Paper
Accessories:  Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon

After a quick trip to Wal-Mart to get the last of our supplies for our Halloween costumes we were off to my daughter and son-in-law's Halloween Party.  Here we are thinly disguised as  Rosie the Riviter, a cowboy, and a Super Stamper!!  We had a great time, but were tired at the end of the day.

Rosie the Riviter

Howdy, All

Even stamping uses tools!!!

Today promises to be another busy day as I cut cardstock for stamp class Monday night, have a birthday dinner celebration, and try to work on report cards.

Don't forget the great sale Stampin' Up! is having tomorrow...15% off on all stamps....get your wish list going.  See you tomorrow night at Stamp Class!!

Today they have released 10 more stamps for purchase as single stamps.  These are awesome for all of your holiday card making needs...and what makes them even better is that on Monday they will be 15% off of the prices you see here.  Grab them now...as they are only available until January 2nd!!

Finally we get to our card for today!!!   This beautiful butterfly card is another one we did at our Stamp Fest!! I love how the wings pop up on the butterfly when you only put adhesive on the body part of the butterfly.

I am anxious to get back to my classroom today after missing the last days because of a fall.  I am sure the kids will have all kinds of things to tell me!!  Have a great day today!

Elegant Snowflakes

Our card today is another one we made at Stamp Fest last Saturday.

I love the combination of Brushed Silver and Elegant Eggplant...and when you add the new Illuminate Ink...it is awesome.   There is something about is that is so elegant...no pun intended with the name of card stock, but it certainly does fit this card.
I think everybody that made this card agreed that it was simpler to
make than it looks!!

Stamps:  Snowflake Soiree, Greetings of the Season
Cardstock:  Elegant Eggplant, Brushed Silver, Whisper White
Ink:  Illumniate Glimmer Watermark Pad, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories:  Snow Flurry Bigz Die, Big Shot, Scalloped Border Punch, Large Basic Pearls

Today will be a day of rest for me today...there is something about meeting up with the floor that my tired old bones did not like yesterday.  My ice bags will keep me company today as I surf the web for awesome stamping ideas!!

Gently Falling

I love the effect that you get with resist embossing. And it doesn't even really matter if you have a really junky Versamark pad.....it still works.

Even though the days yesterday and today are beautiful, this card reminds me of a typical fall day with gently falling leaves.

Stamps:  Gently Falling
Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Simply Scored, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,  Stampin' Sponge, Slot Window Punch, Linen Thread,  Basic Large Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

Another week is flying by and it will soon be time for the last October stamp class.  Be sure and let me know you are coming!!

Christmas Joy

Today's card is another one we made this weekend at Stamp Fest.  It comes from a demonstrator friend, Judy, in Iowa City.

The shiny silver in the middle around the JOY is thin tin roof flashing and can be bought at any home improvement store. It goes right through the Big Shot and is easy to cut and emboss.

Stamp Set:  Joyous Celebration
Cardstock:  Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Holiday Frame Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Extra Large Oval Punch

Linda and her friends had a great time stamping last night. We had some great snacks, and they each went home with three Christmas cards and three thank you or birthday cards.  I think everyone had a great time. Thanks, Linda, for having me come stamp with your friends.

Noel

The car is packed again for another stamp night. Tonight Linda and her friends will be making six cards...some Christmas, some fall cards, and a birthday card or two. This is one of the cards they will be making.

The center decoration is stamped and then die cut with the Holiday Ornaments Framelit collection.  This is the collection that is on sale this month with Stampin' Up!.   If you buy both the stamp set and the framelits, then you get a piercing pack free.

If you would like to do a stamp camp in your home, gather 8 or more friends and give me a call and we can get you scheduled on the calendar.

Yesterday was spent in beautiful Galena, Illinois, looking at leaves and doing a little bit of shopping. It was a great day to be out.  It looks like this week is going to be great too. Make the most of the beautiful days ahead, before colder days set in!!

French Foliage

I absolutely love the triple time stamping technique. Here is another take on it.

Imagine the possibilities once you know and understand the technique!!!

Stamps:  French Foliage
Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, More Mustard
Accessories:  Alway Artichoke Seam Binding

Another Stamp Fest has come and gone.  We had a very large group and several first time attendees.  I hope they had as good a time as Luetta and I did.  We have already started to talk about techniques and ideas for spring.  One thing we can promise you.....NO DOILY CARDS!!!

Grab Your Broom

This will be even quicker as I am on my way out the door to Stamp Fest.  I love products that you can use in more than they way it is intended. That is the case with the owl punch.

Ink:  Basic Black, Tangerine Tango Marker
Accessoris:  Chevron Embossing Folder, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Owl Punch, Slot Window Punch,  1/8" Black Gros Grain Ribbon

Check back tomorrow for some pictures of Stamp Fest.

I love this time of year and the many colors you can see in the trees.  This card reminds me of many trips to look at leaves with my parents when I was younger.

Decorating envelopes is something I picked up from one of my stamping customers a few years back.  How fun to get a letter in the mail with such a colorful envelope!

Stamps:Wonderfall, Petite Pairs
Ink:  Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade, More Mustard, Island Indigo, Early Espresso
Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Orchard Harvest DSP

I can't believe how fast this week has flown by. Everything is ready for Stamp Fest tomorrow and it is only Friday!!

Happy Birthday

Our card today comes from a fellow demonstrator, Mary Fish.  She is an extremely talented stamper and I often times will look at her blog for inspiration.

One thing I really like about this design is how easy it would be to change up the colors and make it very feminine or masculine.  It is hard to tell in the photo but all but the bottom Starfruit circle have been popped up with dimensionals.

Stamps:  You're Amazing
Cardstock:  Marina Mist, Real Red,
Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink:  Basic Black
Accessories:  Apothecary Accents, Big Shot,

Luetta and I got all of our cardstock cut last night for Stamp Fest, so tonight is just putting together all of the finishing pieces.  You won't want to miss it.

Scentsation Season

We are getting closer to hot chocolate weather so thought I should get my cards ready too!

Here is another card we took a picture of at convention.  This one uses My Digital Studio to make the chevron background.

Stamps:  Scentsational Season, Fabulous Phrases
Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White
Ink:  Gumball Green, Early Espresso Marker
Accessories:  My Digital Studio, Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Jewelry Punch, 3/8" Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets

Enjoy the day, before colder weather sets in!!

Sneak Peek.....Stamp Fest

This week will be a busy one getting ready for Stamp Fest on Saturday.  Here is another Sneak Peek at one of the cards we will be making.   This card uses an old, but very popular, stamp set...Lovely as a Tree.

Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree, Curly Cute
Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Wood Grain Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Stampin' Pastels, Sticky Strip

Chalks are one thing I often forget about when stamping, but they are just right for the foliage on the tree.

Hard to believe that my baby turns 21 today, but this is the day!  Happy Birthday, Hanna!!

I am anxious to get back to school and see the kids. Tonight is our Chili Supper/Open House/Book Fair so it will be a very long day.

Check back tomorrow for another idea.

Gratitude

The car is once again packed and I am almost ready to head out the door.  The agenda today consists of a quick trip to Des Moines to the ITEC conference (technology) and then to stamp camp tonight.  Hard to believe its back to work already!!

Today's card is one we will be doing tonight at stamp camp and one I found while I was blog surfing.  Sorry, I can't remember where I saw it.  I love the vibrant colors in this card.

Off to Des Moines!!   See you tonight at stamp class!

From the Sunny Bahamas to Rain!!

What a fantastic week!  To think this time last week I was sitting in an airport waiting to start our great adventure!  Other than our plane leaving Des Moines four hours late last Sunday the rest of the trip went off without a hitch!!  The weather was great and the scenery even more so!!

Here was our home away from home for our days on the ship.  A little small but since we hardly spent any time in the room it was great.  We had a balcony room so we could sit out there and watch the sunrises and sunsets!!

But enough about the trip.....here is some stamping inspiration for the day!!  Today I have a scrap book page for you from convention.  This could start as a 6 X 6 page and work its way up to a 12 X 12 page.

Stamp Set:  Chock-Full of Cheer
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink:  Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: 1/2" Circle Punch, 3/4" circle punch

There is still time to let me know you are coming to stamp class on Monday night!!  See you there!

Santa Claus Gift Tag

Isn't this the cutest little gift tag...and so easy to make as well.  It would also work well as a tree decoration!!  I can just imagine a miniature tree with several of these ornaments hanging from it.

Stamp Set:  Petite Pairs
Cardstock:  Real Red, Basic Black, Brushed Gold
Accessories:  Scallop Circle Bigz Die, 3 1/2" Circle Die, Big Shot

By the time you read this we should be flying across the country to Chicago.  I can't wait to get home and get my pictures developed and get started on my scrapbooks.

Button Buddy Snowman

Today's card is another swap I received.  Button Buddies is not a stamp set that I have although it is on my wish list.  I love this little snowman.

A Nice Cup of Tea

My mom and a friend of hers loved tea, and often shared a cup of tea.  Whenever I see cards that talk about friendship and tea I always think of them.

There is a lot of cutting involved with this card. The banner and the teacup are cut out and adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp Sets:  From My Heart, Tea Shoppe
Cardstock: Whisper White,  Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals,
Patio Party DSP
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals, Versamark
Accessories:  Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Dazzling Details,

I am really excited about our excursion today from the cruise boat.  We are going snorkeling!!  I have been looking forward to this experience since we first started talking about a cruise.  Hope it lives up to my expectations!

No Peeking

I love this No Peeking stamp set.  It has such whimsical characters and the sentiments in it,  are equally delightful.

Although the paper piercing is time consuming, I do think it really adds a lot to the card.

Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green

Snowflake Soiree

I apologize for the quality of the photo, but for some reason this card was hard to get a good picture.  This is a card that Stamp Club did last Thursday night and is called the Magic Maduzia technique.

Believe it or not this is really Not Quite Navy in color.

Today we are scheduled to board our cruise ship about 2:00 this afternoon and we will be off!!!  Happy Day, Happy Day!!!  A cruise has always been on my bucket list of things to do, and I am having a hard time believing we are actually doing this.

Today's card is the one I am giving to all three of the kids when we board the cruise ship...with their birthday money early.....so they can enjoy it while we are there.

Watercolor Winter

One more day of work and we are off!!  I guess I didn't realize how much there was to get ready at school when you are knowingly going to be gone for a week, but it will definitely be worth it!!

Today's card comes from a set in the Holiday mini catalog---Watercolor Winter.  This is a two step stamping set, but here I have just used the outline of the poinsettias.

Stamp Set:  Watercolor Winter, Perfect Punches
Cardstock:  Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Whisper White
Ink:  Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green
Accessories:1 3/4" Scallop Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch,  Metallic Brads, 3/8" Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon

You know it is turning colder when Mrs. Wilson starts wearing long pants, instead of capris, and digs out her socks, instead of wearing sandals!!  Today is one of those days.  Enjoy this cool crisp fall day!!

Serene Silhouettes

I have been looking for different techniques to share with my stamp club.  This is one of the swaps I received this summer at convention.  It uses the baby wipe technique.

The shine in the middle of the card is the result of the flash for the picture, not part of the card.

Stamp Set:  Serene Silhouettes, Blooming With Kindness
Cardstock:  Midnight Muse, Glossy White
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Accessories:  Baby Wipes, Baja Breeze Reinker

The car is loaded and the projects are ready for stamp club tonight.  If you would like to be part of a stamp club, shoot me an email and we will get another club started.

Muffin Tin Advent Calendar

If you have been stamping with me a while today's project will look very familiar.  A Muffin Tin Advent Calendar!!  Children (and adults) love counting down the days of excitement before Christmas--and what better way than with an adorable Advent Calendar.

Fill the tin with little pieces of candy and trinkets, then remove the circles to let the countdown begin.

Just think of the types of treats you could hide inside each of these little cups.

The pictures shown here use retired DSP and ribbon, but any coordinating DSP and cardstock will make a beautiful Advent Calendar.

For those of you who have never made one of these before, I will be offering this as a class in November. Watch for it!!
