White Snowflakes
Today's card is another one we did at stamp class last Monday night and that I found while blog surfing. The white on white is much more striking than the picture shows. The daughter of one of the gals that was there Monday night said she thought this card needed some sparkle and I think she was right......a little shimmer spray would really dress it up!
Today is a big day in fourth grade. We are taking a field trip to Iowa City and Cedar Rapids and eating lunch at Outback Steakhouse. I am hoping to have some energy left when I get home to start working on cutting stuff for stamp class Monday night. It will certainly be interesting to see the difference between first and fourth graders on a field trip.

Christmas Tags
Aren't these gift tags cute? We will be making these and many more like them at the gift tag and gift card holder class next Monday! These adorable tags would dress up any Christmas package.
Hope to see you Monday night!!

Circle Circus Christmas
This fast and fun card is one we made at stamp class Monday night and one I saw while I was blog surfing. I am sorry I do not remember where I saw it to give credit to the original stamper.
Well...it is back to school after Thanksgiving break.....hard to believe it is less than four weeks to Christmas break.....the year is flying by!

Easy Gift Bag
Sorry for the late post, but since I played all weekend, today was spent cleaning up from Thanksgiving and getting cardstock cut and organized for stamp class tonight. With all of the shopping that Hanna and I did this weekend, we definitely will need gift bags and today's project will be perfect.
Cardstock: Festival of Prints DSP stack, Early Espresso Core'dinations, Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Sanding Block, Star |
I have to make a run to Sigourney, before heading to Iowa City for stamp class tonight. Hanna left her laptop cord at home so we will be meeting in Sigourney so I can give it to her. I have a feeling her laptop would die before she would get it in the mail.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Silver Bells
Here is the second project that Hanna made with My Digital Studio. Once you get on to making something like this it is kind of addictive. I can see all kinds of possibilities.
This has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs, so it will find a special place in my house at Christmas time.
Supplies: MDS2+ Accessories: Frame, Ribbon, Bells |
Today is our day to put up the Christmas tree and all of the decorations before Hanna goes back to school. It might seem kind of early, but she will not be home another weekend before Christmas break. It doesn't seem possible, but there are only 18 school days before my winter break!! This year seems to be flying by!!!
Cutting cardstock for tomorrow's class and dinner with friends tonight are the other things on the agenda for today. Everyday is a gift...what will you do with your gift of today??
Polar Express
I have not done a lot of designing with My Digital Studio...however Hanna has. The Polar Express has been one of our favorite movies since it came out. My dad always had a copy of the book, and a set of sleigh bells we had gotten him, set out at Christmas time. He was one person for whom the bell still rang, even though he was in his eighties. This framed piece was very easy to make...and takes very few supplies.
Today, Hanna and I have a very special job to do. Ever since my husband's accident on Thanksgiving weekend in 2005, we have taken a thank you note and some type of food to the staff (doctors, nurses, receptionists, and anyone else who works in that department) in SICU at the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Even though the staff has changed over the years it is our little way of saying thank you and remembering all that they did for us that year....our lives would be very different if not for the dedicated doctors and nurses in this unit.

No Peeking!!!
Well.....Hanna and I braved the crowds and went Black Friday shopping last night and are getting ready to go again as soon as I post this. We are both huge shoppers and love the excitement of the Christmas season. We don't have to buy anything to have a good time!!!
Today's card comes from a very cute Christmas set called No Peeking.
Enjoy your day!!
Enjoy your day!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving!! My turkey is in the oven, the side dishes are ready to bake, and the Macy's Parade is on TV. Now....the only thing is to find time to fit in a nap this afternoon before the Black Friday shopping which is actually starting this evening.
Today's card is again using Field Flowers.
Thanksgiving is a time for counting blessings.....and I certainly have much to be thankful for. Take some time to think about what you are most thankful for!!
Stamps: Field Flowers Cardstock: Whisper White Ink: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler Accessories: Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. Big Shot |

Gratitude
Sorry for the late post today.... I was sitting here this morning waiting for the message that school would be delayed because of the fog. Well, that message never came and it wasn't until I got to school, and was ready to go to the Annual Turkey Sing that I realized I had forgotten to post anything.
Today's card is another one that we took a picture of at convention. I absolutely love this saying!!!
The house is relatively clean, the groceries are bought, and Hanna's laundry is in the process of being done.....Let Thanksgiving Break begin!!!
Families are Forever
When I saw this scrapbook page at convention this summer, I knew just what I wanted to do with mine. Wouldn't this be awesome with Christmas DSP paper and a picture of your family around the Christmas tree. I will need to remember that when I am with my extended family for our Christmas in Des Moines!!
Stamps: Forever With You
Cardstock: Soft Suede
Ink: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Comfort Cafe DSP, Neutrals Designer Buttons,
Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon,
Last night I had several ladies come to Godfather's to make the muffin tin advent calendar. We had a great time.
We even went international!! One of the gals has a foreign exchange student living with her this year so she made one to send to her family in Germany!!
It was fun to catch up with some people I haven't see for a while. I think everyone had a great time and were pleased with their calendars!!
Have a great day!!
On Line Extravaganza Joy
Don't Forget the On Line Extravaganza where you can purchase your Big Shot at a discount to make this beautiful stocking banner!!
The Big Shot is on-sale for only today....at the reduced price of $79.95, so if you were on the fence about ordering one.....here is your chance!!!
Have a great day!
Christmas Lodge...Take 2
It seems like I can go for a long time and never use a stamps set, and then once I get it out I have to make several cards with it. Today it happens to be Christmas Lodge.
This card has a pocket that you pull a piece out of and write your message. I realized I happened to use a retired embossing folder on this card, but you could substitute any of the folders.
Stamp Set: Christmas Lodge Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Accessories: Silver Glimmer Paper, Top Not Die, Scallop Border Punch 3/4" Circle Punch |
Since it is going to be such a nice day I think we are going to take a road trip to wherever our noses lead us. Have a great day.
Christmas Lodge

Check out the list of sales products by looking at this PDF File.
I will be placing an order Monday night after the Muffin Tin class or you can order directly through my online site.
Today's card has a funky fold.
My plans today are to watch the Hawkeyes (hope they are worth watching) and to do a little stamping. Enjoy the beautiful weekend and don't forget to check out the Online sale on Monday.
Online Extravaganza and a Card
What's that you say.....a sale!!!!!!! Stampin'Up!'s biggest online sale of the year starts Monday, November 19th and runs through November 28thth. During those 10 days you can get incredible discounts on some of your favorite products.
There will be three products that are 20% off for only 24 hours on the first day of the sale!! A Doorbuster Sale so to speak!! So if you were on the fence about ordering a Big Shot, here is your chance to own one at 20% off. Check out the other Doorbuster sales and then be sure check back on Monday to see what other wonderful sales we are having!!
And now.....on to our card for the day!! I love the emboss resist technique...especially when used on a mostly white card. The colors seem so vivid to me.
There is still time to let me know you are coming to the Countdown to Christmas Class on Monday night. We will be making an adorable Muffin Tin Advent Calendar......also makes a great gift!!
Thinking of You
I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall days.....what a great day yesterday to be outside!! And to think Thanksgiving is only a week away!
This is a card we made at a stamp camp last year....I know I got the idea from someone's blog, but I have no idea who to give credit to. I love the shimmer paint on the leaves......this card, too, is so much prettier in person.
Big changes are coming....not only in the weather, but in my life and my stamping....stay tuned as the next month or so unfolds!!
Stamps: Beautiful Season Cardstock: Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White Ink: Early Espresso Accessories: Pearl Basic Jewels, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint |
Joy At Christmas
I was looking through my card stash for some birthday cards this morning when I came across this Christmas card I made a couple of years ago. It is still one of my favorites.
The photo really doesn't do it justice...it is much prettier in person!!
Do you have your Christmas cards started yet? One of my fourth graders told me yesterday that Christmas was only six weeks away.....hardly seems possible!!!
Have a great day!

Punch Art Penguin
Last night's stamp class went very well and people went home with many Christmas card ideas. Today's card is another one that Hanna and I took a picture of at convention last summer. I just love this little penguin guy.
I need to remember to start my car earlier so it can be defrosting before I am ready to leave for school...something I have been forgetting to do, so then I have to wait for it to defrost. You would think after as many winters as I have lived in Iowa I would remember that!!

Season's Greetings
The cardstock is cut and the car is loaded again for stamp class tonight at Godfather's Pizza. This is one of the cards we will be making tonight. If you are looking for an easy duplicatable card for your Christmas sending this year...then this is your card!!
Stamps: Watercolor Winter, More Merry Messages Cardstock: Very Vanilla Ink: Always Artichoke, Early Espresso Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponge |
The National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa turned out to be very interesting....who would have thought??
Hope to see you tonight at stamp class!
Evergreen
Today is a day to reflect and thank all Veterans for their service to our country. Freedom isn't really free and we have these men and women to thank for our freedoms.
Stamps: Evergreen Cardstock: Gumball Green, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP Ink: Soft Suede, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight Accessories: Gumball Green Stitched Ribbon |
In looking over the cards we are making tomorrow night, I can't believe I am using the Big Shot in only one card. Even though I now have two Big Shots there is usually a line waiting to use them. Wonder what I was thinking!!
Enjoy your day...even if the weather doesn't cooperate.
Thank You X 65
I just finished making 65 of these cards for someone as their wedding thank you's.
I am seeing all sorts of possibilities with this layout....snowflakes in the winter, hearts at Valentine's Day, eggs or bunnies at Easter!! I used the Freshly Made Sketch #49 as a template. Thank you, Susie Wood, for showing me the link to the sketch site.
That's right.....I made 260 of these little pumpkins!! Wow! Am I glad to be done with those!! |

It's off to cut card stock today and watch the Hawkeyes!! I hope they play better than they have the last couple of weeks.
Have a great day!
One again here is a stamp set that was not designed as a Christmas set but makes great Christmas trees. You could use any DSP on this one...here we have non-traditional colors for the card, but we have many Christmas DSP patterns that you could use.
One of the trees is popped up with a dimensional to give the card some depth.
Once again, I am not sure where this week has gone, but we seem to have come to Friday again already. I will be getting ready for stamp class on Monday night. There is still time to let me know you are coming!!!

Field Flowers....Again!!
Very rarely do I make a cards anymore without the use of my Big Shot.....but here it is. Field Flowers is such an easy two step stamp set to use. It doesn't really make any difference if you get the flower lined up perfectly on the stem or not...it still looks good.
Today will be another long day as we finish up Parent/Teacher conferences for the fall. I am so lucky to teach in a school that has the parent support that we do. We strive for 100% participation in conferences, and there have been very few years where I haven't reached that. This year will be no exception. Thank you parents for taking time from your schedules to talk about your child's education!

Friendship, Please
I think I have said it before, but this stamp set reminds me so much of my mom and drinking tea with friends. "A good cup of tea will cure all ills" is pretty much a direct quote from her. My but I drank a lot of cups of tea with her.
Have a great day!!

Vote!!
A perfect card for Election Day.....another card that uses product in a unique way. I love how the border punch can be used for the stripes on the flag.
Stamps: Every Little Bit Cardstock: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White Ink: Versamark Accessories: Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch |
Tonight I will be busy making 100 wedding thank yous.....stay tuned for pictures of the completed project in the near future!
This is another picture I took at convention last summer. Greeting Card Kids is a stamp set I have been on the fence about for a long time, but I have seen some really neat things made with it recently. While the DSP and greeting in this card comes from retired product, any Holiday DSP and greeting would work in place of it.
Today is the kind of dreary day I would like to stay curled up with a good book.....however the next best thing is a hot bowl of chili for supper. The crockpot is going and it will be light when I go to school What more could I ask for???
Have a great day!

Snow Much Fun
I am definitely not ready for snow, but I do love making snowman cards!!! These guys in this set are just the best!!!
I hope all of you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep last night. I must admit I like getting up in the daylight, but will be regretting it when it gets dark so early tonight. I guess that means I just have that much more time to spend in my stamp room!!
I can't believe I have nothing much scheduled for this week, other than Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday. It has been a long time since I have had such an open week. My stamp room shows it, too! I guess I will spend some time cleaning up and putting stuff away for the next flurry of activity.
Have a great day!
Fall Foliage
Gratitude.....Today I am grateful for a day of rest....there is nothing on my agenda until tonight. Sometimes, that is a good thing!
Today's card uses one of my favorite fall color combinations.....More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy, and a green color.
Stamp Sets: Fall Foliage, Day of Gratitude Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla Ink: Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake Accessories: 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon |
Tonight, I am attending a benefit dinner and auction for the family of one of my students. Her baby sister was born with a heart defect this summer and ended up needing a heart transplant. The baby is doing great now and has a great prognosis!! Another thing I am grateful for is living in such a caring community that comes together to help people in their times of need!!!
Blessings Mix
Wow....it seems like I just got home from school and am turning around and going back.....my last parent teacher conference finished up a little after 8:00 last night. I do enjoy being able to share all of the wonderful things the children are doing with their parents.
Today's card...well not really a card...uses the same stamp set and color scheme as yesterday.
Here is the Blessings Mix Poem that is included on the back of the topper.
Stamps: Day Of Gratitude Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla Ink: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso Accessories: Top Note Die, Big Shot, Modern Label Punch |
The Bugles are a symbol of the Cornucopia, a horn of plenty.
The Pretzels represent arms folded in Thanks and Prayer.
The Candy Corn reminds us that during the first winter, the pilgrims were allowed only five kernels of corn per day because the food was scarce.
The fruit is a reminder that Thanksgiving is the celebration of the harvest.
The Peanuts represent seeds, the potential of the bounteous harvest of the next season if they are planted and well tended.
Have a great day and enjoy the great weather we are going to have again today!
Gratitude
November is a month of Thanksgiving....but for our family even more so. I never fail to stop and count all of my blessings and to be thankful for everything....especially days with my whole family. The sentiment on this card is particularly true! Every day is a gift and we should be grateful for every one we have!!
Today will be a long day with Parent/Teacher conferences, but one which I always enjoy. It will be especially rewarding tonight as I share how much my class has grown and matured since I taught them in first grade.
