Today's card shows how to use an embossing folder in a little different way to get some color......brayering the folder before running it through the Big Shot.  I am loving this vine folder the more I use it!!

Snow Day

Today was a first....I was actually able to go back to sleep after getting the call that there was no school today.   YEAH!!!

I hope to spend the day stamping up the extra cards after stamp class on Monday. This is one of the cards that we made Monday night and that was designed by a side-line of mine...Nicole.  This was one of the cards that we made in the shoe box swap a couple of weeks ago.

Strange Weather

How strange to be sitting here in the middle of January listening to a thunderstorm, knowing there is a winter storm watch issued for tonight.....only in Iowa!!

We had a huge turnout for stamp class last night....one of the largest I think I have ever had.  I got to meet several new friends that hopefully enjoyed themselves and will be back again.  This is one of the Valentine cards we made last night.

Yesterday was a great day to stay inside and stamp. I made about 30 of these little thank you notes, which I am including in my stamping orders that will be delivered tonight.  I got the idea from a stamper named Dawn Griffith.  These were super simple to make and didn't take very long at all.

Today is starting off much better than yesterday. I posted my card and then went to take a shower and NO hot water.  Luckily we have a very good plumbing and heating service right here in Kalona...Kuenster's Plumbing and Heating.  I called Heather and she had someone here right away in the morning to fix it.  Jeremy and Heather are parents of students I have had and I definitely appreciate the how they quick their service is and how much they have helped us in the last couple of years!!!

Today's card is another one we made on Saturday.  I believe this one was designed by Susie, who is a great inspiration.

The day ended much better than it started.....Several of us stampers have made plans to attend a regional conference in St. Louis at the end of March.  Last night I made hotel reservations and talked with one of the gals about organizing a swap while we are there.  These are always such fun events to attend and I also always come back with tons of ideas.

Today will be another busy day with a  staff meeting thrown in after a full teaching day.  Hopefully I will have a little time to stamp  when I get home...or at least get my cards planned for Monday night's "Sweets for the Sweet" Stamp class.

What a great day to stay inside!!!  I am certainly glad that I do not have to go anywhere as cold as it is today.  We have a day off of school in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Well...I have been sitting here for a while waiting for the call that school will be delayed because of the fog. No such call today, so I think that means that I need to get ready to go!!

I love this technique of punching out a shape and then filling in the space with either ribbon or Designer Series Paper.  It is a great way to use scraps of DSP that are not very big.

Memory Jar

2013 is going to be a great year!!  Two nephews getting married, a retirement, a college graduation.......and those are just the things I know about right now.  I decided to make a Memory Jar, or New Year's Eve Jar. When something great happens this year...or even something I just want to remember...I will jot a little note and put it in my jar.  Then on New Year's Eve next year, I can take out all of my notes and reflect on what a great year it has been.
