Noteboooks for San Antonio

It is so nice to have the supplies and materials to be able to make things when Hanna asks for them.  She wanted some travel gifts for her companions when she goes to San Antonio this week.  Here is what we came up with.

Stamps:  Lovely Letters Alphabet
Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Pool Party, Whisper White, scrap DSP I had laying around
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder,  Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder,
Designer Frames Embossing Folders, Label Collection Framelits,  Big Shot,
Large Oval Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin Dimensionals, Clear Envelopes, Clear Stamp Cases

When we were at Staples getting her business cards, we had them cut down some notepads so that they would fit into the case.

We also added a clear envelope on the left side so they can keep receipts or business cards they happen to collect.  I sure hope the girls like them!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all of you!!!

This is one of the awesome swaps I got last weekend in Saint Louis.

I hope you all have a happy and joyous Easter.

Heartfelt Thanks

I finally got my back order of the tea doilies so I can make bunches of this swap I got in Saint Louis.  I am trying to stock up on thank you notes, because my supply has been exhausted.  When I make mine I will probably sponge the doily just a little bit.....as Hanna says..."If you dirty it up and crumple it some, it becomes vintage!!"

Stamps:  Layered Labels
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Apothecary Accents Framelits, Oval Framelits,
Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder,  Big Shot,  Essentials Piercing Pack,
Paper Piercing Tool,  3/8" Marina Mist Organdy Ribbon,  Basic Pearl Jewels

As soon as I am done posting this we are out the door to do some shopping.  Hanna is taking off on Tuesday for an educational conference in San Antonio (isn't she lucky), and needs a few last minute items.

Enjoy your Saturday...even if it is going to rain!!

Thinking of You

I love the color combination on this card.....it seems to work no matter what the season.

Stamps:  Just Thinking, Everything Eleanor, Delicate Doilies
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Window Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Crumb Cake Seam Binding

Yesterday was another very successful Grandparent's Day. My class had over 35 visitors and the kids loved being able to share their school with their grandmas and grandpas.  The Parent Boosters also recognized those of us retiring with a plant during the assembly.  I will now be able to look at my tulips and always remember Grandparent's Day!

Today will be spent getting ready for stamp class Monday night.  I have all of the ideas ready to go, I just need to get the cardstock cut.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!!

Remembering

When I first saw this stamp set.....Dapper Dad...it reminded me of my own dad.  He always wore a bow tie. Now one of my brothers has started wearing bow ties as well!!  The tradition continues.

Why would this card be appropriate for today.....it is not dad's birthday or anything.  But it is Grandparent's Day at Washington Township, a day I always enjoy.  When Dad and Mom were here they always volunteered to be surrogate grandparents for anyone in my classroom that didn't have grandparents.  I sure could use them this year!!

Stamps:  Dapper Dad, Wacky Wishes
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Parker's Pattern DSP
Ink:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Argyle Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch

This is one of the cards that was on a display board in Saint Louis, but I had to come home and make one right away!!

3:30 marks the start of spring break. Hanna will be home this evening, but has plans to babysit both Friday and Monday.  I hope to do some serious cleaning and rearranging in my stamp room!!!

Hopefully we will see the sun again today.  It was so nice yesterday.
Have a great day!!

Waiting For The Sun

Do you think it will ever warm up enough so that it can rain and then we can wait for the sun?  This stamp from Bootiful Occasions pairs beautifully with the DSP paper...Sunshine and Sprinkles!   This is one of the cards we will be making at a Spring Into Spring Stamp camp later on in April!!

Stamps:  Bootiful Occasions
Cardstock:  Island Indigo, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP
Ink:  Basic Black, Marina Mist Marker
Accessories:  Cloudy Day Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Scallop trim Border Punch, Marina Mist 3/8" Striped Ribbon

I had my very last parent teacher conference last night....I figured two nights of conferences twice a year for 36 years...adds up to 144 nights of conferences......I don't even want to think about how many conferences that would add up to.

Hopefully we will see the sun sometime today!!

Have a great day!!

My Thoughts

This is another one of the swaps I got this weekend. Whenever I swap I always gravitate to the same stamp set or style that I like.  I really missed Hanna being with me to get another perspective.

Stamps:  Field Flowers
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP,  2011-2013 DSP pack
Ink:   Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Linen Thread

Tonight is another night of Parent Teacher Conferences. Other than the fact that we are there for 12 hours, I do enjoy talking with the parents and letting them know how well their child is doing.  It is hard to believe, but this will be my last set of conferences.  Wow!!!

Have a great day!!

Last Week of March

Home Again

What a difference a day makes!!!  This is the scene in Saint Charles today!  Yesterday we were walking around without our coats, buying cookies and finding some place good for supper.

We left Saint Louis about 4:30 yesterday afternoon.   We stopped once again in Saint Charles for supper.   I have gotten into the habit of taking pictures of food after traveling with Hanna.  This was the awesome chicken salad I ordered.  Very tasty melons and strawberries for this time of year!!  We arrived home safely about 10:30 last night.

It was an absolutely awesome stamping event.  Over 500 women certainly generate a lot of excitement.

Here is a better picture and oriented right ways up of one of the projects we made yesterday...a covered notepad.

Right before we were getting ready to leave they issued a challenge...we had 10 minutes to see if we could get anyone to book a stamping event.  Those who did would win a prize.  Thank you Kristee, Michelle, Jeanie, and Kellie for booking events.

I almost booked one with someone I didn't even know because I typed a phone number in wrong!!!  LOL

Here are my traveling companions, Kimberly, Lisa, and Dawn waiting for our prizes!!!

We got a stamp set and a pack of Print Poetry DSP!!

This is one of the swaps I got yesterday, along with a new card holder I picked up in St. Charles.
Stamps:  Oh, Hello
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple,  Very Vanilla
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple
Accessories:  Raspebrry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon

If anyone else would like to book a stamping event, give me a call.  In approximately 47 week days, my calendar will be completely FREE!!!

Saint Louis Here We Are

We made it to Saint Louis yesterday safe and sound.  We spent the afternoon shopping in Saint Charles.   I think we all found several goodies to bring home.

We had a delicious (although very slow) dinner at a local Italian restaurant.  It was only about a bock away from out hotel.  I learned the hard way last time I was in Saint Louis not to go wandering around after dark on the streets of downtown.

We got back to our hotel and met up with some fellow demonstrators in out hotel lobby for a shoebox swap.

Here are the cards we made.

I can't wait to see what else in is store for today.   I am sure to get tons of great ideas with my swaps.

Hopefully we can get home before the snow starts to fall tonight.  There is 8 inches inches of snow predicted for here tonight.

Have a great day!!!!!

Bloomin' Marvelous

As soon as I post this card I am heading out the door to listen to my fourth graders song in a mini concert and then meeting my ride to Saint Louis.  I am of to a stamping regional meeting there.  I love these because I am so energized when I come home.

Today's card is one last one using a Sale-a-Bration stamp set.  If you still want to place an order to earn one of these sets you have until 11:00 tonight to do so. You can either email or text me or go to my website and place an order there.
Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous, Occasions Alphabet
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Baja Breeze, Old Olive
Accessories:  Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 2 1/2" Circle Punch,
Baja Breeze Seam Binding

Pray for no snow until we get home tomorrow night.  I know there is a winter storm watch and we will be right in the thick of it.

Have a great day.

Feeling Sentimental

There is something about this Feeling Sentimental stamp sets that really speaks to me.  I love ferris wheels and roller coasters.  It reminds me of a time that a friend and I snuck across the river, when our families were picnicking in Des Moines to go to Riverview Park and ride the rides.  Probably one of the few sneaky things I did as a kid.

Stamps:  Feeling Sentimental, Your Amazing
Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberyy, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink:  Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Ticket Duo Builder Punch
Today is my workweek Friday as we leave tomorrow to go to Saint Louis to a regional stamping event.  I hope the weather holds out and we only have rain.

Have a great day!

Bandaid Work Wonders

My bandaid consumption has certainly gone down since teaching fourth grade.  First graders use a TON of bandaids.  I wonder if they would be as happy with just a card???

Stamps:  Patterened Occasions
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party,  Tangerine Tango, Sycamore DSP
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Pool Party
Accessories:  Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Extra large Oval Punch, Tangerine Tango Dotted Scalloped Ribbon

I am certainly ready for some warmer weather.  For the first day of spring...it is mighty cold.

Have a great day!!

Looking Ahead

When it came time to decide on a swap to make for the regional stamping event this weekend I decided to look both to the future and the past.  The future because I knew people would need graduation card ideas and the pst because I have used this layout many times in the past. This card would be very easy to customize to whatever your school colors are.  It has been a while since Stampin' Up has had a graduation set I really like, but Pure Gumption is one of those.

Stamps:  Pure Gumption
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink:  Basic Black
Accessories:  1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" circle punch

I am not liking the looks of outside this morning.  I thought we were done with the snow!!!

Tonight will be my last Washington Township Spring Concert and Art Show.!!!  I am looking forward to hearing the children sing and looking at their artwork.

2 hours...36 cards!!

So, at the beginning of April Hanna is taking a trip to San Antonio with one of her professors and some other education students.  They are attending a Council for Exceptional Children Convention. There have been several people who have helped them along the way and she decided that we needed to make thank you notes for them. She really liked this design from a fellow stamper, LeeAnn Gref.  She met LeeAnn last year at convention, so it made it even more special.

Between the two of us we made all 36 cards in just under 2 hours.

Stamps:  Oh, Hello
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Island Indigo
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stripes Embossing Folder, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Window Collection Framelits, Big Shot,  Island Indigo and Wild Wasabi Markers, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Package,  Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponges

We just loaded Hanna's car so she is on her way back to school.  My job for the rest of the afternoon is to finish my swaps for the Stamping Regional in Saint Louis next weekend.

Have a great day!!

The Best Things in Life

Hanna and I spent an awesome day stamping with demonstrator, Susie Wood.  She had a class today where we made 40 cards..2 each of 20 designs.   We got so many great ideas we just had to come home and stamp some more.  We took one of the layouts she did, changed the colors and the stamp set and this is the result.

Stamps:  Feel Goods
Ink:  Whisper White Craft Ink
Cardstock:  Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP
Accessories:  Ovals Collection Framelits, Big Shot,  5/8" Vanilla Flowe Trim, Baja Breeze Seam Binding

Tomorrow I have 36 thank you cards to make before Hanna goes back to school.  I will be a busy little stamper tomorrow morning.  I will have to take pictures before she takes them all away.

Have a great evening.

Sending Many Thanks

Here is a really cool card that a demonstrator friend, Dawn, made and brought to our stamping meeting last month.   Dawn makes a lot of vintage cards.  They are all equally awesome.

Stamps:  Feeling Sentimental, Petitie Pairs
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Basic Gray, Versamark
Accessories:  Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Window Frame Framelits, Big Shot,
Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Oval Punch,
1/8" Mini Brads, 2 Toned Gray Ribbon, Basic Gray Marker,
Color Spritzer Tool, Stampin' Dimensional

I need to get busy and figure out what I am going to do for my swaps for the regional meeting I am going to in Saint Louis in a week.  Hopefully, inspiration will come soon so I can get busy on them.

Have a great day!!

Feel Goods

I absolutely love this Feel Goods stamp set.  In fact, I even bought  a second set because Hanna thought she needed to have one at school.

This card is another one that I received at our stamping meeting in January.  I am sorry I don't remember who brought this one.  It uses the canvas squares that are in the Spring Mini Catalog.  You will beed to cut these with pinking shears so that they do not ravel.

Stamps:  Feel Goods
Cardstock:  Island Indigo, Parkers Patterns DSP
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Canvas Creations, Silver Basic Designer Button, Vanilla Seam Binding

We are stamping at my house again tonight.  If you would like to come, I have several sets of cut out cards left!!

Have a great day!!

Miniature Thank You notes

I am lovin' these little 3" X 3" thank you notes.  I got the idea from a demonstrator, Dawn Griffith, who uses them as customer thank you's.  I am thinking that the next time I take a trip I am going to take a bunch of these along and then can write a little thank you note to anyone that I think needs one.  Hanna is taking a trip to San Antonio at the end of the month for an educational conference.  I am making her several full size thank you notes, but I think I will send several of these with her as well.

Stamps:  Pretty Petites
Cardstock:  Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink:  Basic Black
Accessories:  Petite Curly Label Punch

Having it light later in the evening is great!  I don't mind having it dark in the morning, since I am such a morning person, and it seems like the evening is longer when it doesn't get dark so early.

Have a great day!!

Secret Garden Sympathy

Once again the cardstock is cut and the car is loaded and ready to go for stamp camp tonight.  We will be focusing on sympathy and get well cards tonight.

I found a version of this card on Pinterest and really liked the simplicity of it.

Stamps:  Secret Garden,  Petite Pairs
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black, White
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Secret Garden Framelits, Big Shot, 1 3/8" Square Punch

Hanna is home for spring break this week so it will be a busy week!

Have a great day!!!

Stamp Fest...Big Success

Well, another Saturday Stamp Fest has come and gone.  We had a  pretty large group and I think everyone had a good time.  I love being able to share with everyone!!

One of the things that I particularly enjoy is to see what people create with the supplies they are given.

Here is Judy's version of the card we were making.

The red background doesn't really do them justice, but here is the original and then Judy's card.

Michelle also changed up the card.  You can see all three versions, using the very same materials.

Today was spent cutting cardstock for stamp camp tomorrow night at Godfather's Pizza.

It was sure nice to see rain today rather than snow!!! Let's hope it continues!!

Stamp Fest Is Here!

The room is ready and the car is loaded with supplies for Stamp Fest today.  We have a pretty large group of ladies ready to stamp the day away!!

Here is another of the cards we are doing today.  This is a card that Luetta used for her swap a while back when we met as a demonstrator group.  I love when you can use stampin' products in a different way than they were intended!!

Stamps:  Pursuit of Happiness
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Twitterpated DSP
Ink:  Island Indigo
Accessories:  Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Small Heart Punch, Blossom Builder Bunch, Basic Pearl Jewels

It is so nice to hear just rain....maybe it will take all of the snow away.  Stay tuned tomorrow for pictures from today.  Remember to turn your clocks ahead one hour tonight...it will be so nice to have an extra hour of daylight at the end of the day!!!!  And maybe then I can sleep past 5:30...a double bonus!!!

Have a great day!

With Sympathy

Here is another card we are doing tomorrow at Stamp Fest.  Unfortunately, it is a card we find ourselves needing all too often.

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Flower Garden Embossing Folder, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Stampin' Sponges, Very Vanilla Seam Binding

Today is a fun day at school....Beach Day.  I only wish it was warm enough to really go to a beach!!

Have a great day.

Sneak Peek #3

Here is another sneak peek at one of the cards the ladies will be making at Stamp Fest.  I am picking up the last of the supplies this afternoon.  We are going to have a great time.

Add caption

Stamps:  Papillion Potpourri, Curly Cute
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Black Stazon, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight Markers
Accessories:  Fancy Fan Embossing Folder,  Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle Punch

Today got off to kind of a slow start......a 2 hour delay for school.  I probably should have made better use of my time, but a good book and a second cup of coffee were calling my name.

Have a great day!
