Love and Affection

Love and Affection was one of the stamp sets we could pre-order as demonstrators.  I have several new sets but for some reason my stamping energy is just not here right now.  So far, this is only the second card I have made with new products.

I like all of the new In-Colors, just not together, but they make an awesome addition to our other existing colors.

Stamps:  Love and Affection
Cardstock: Peekaboo Peach, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink:Memento Black, Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter

Today is my Hospice volunteer morning.  I hope to come home and maybe do a little stamping before I go to my friend, Judy's, visitation tonight.

Happy Memorial Day!!

Today is the day we set aside to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could and can live the lives we choose.  When I saw one of these flag cards posted I knew I had to try and make one and it would be perfect for today.

The fact that is uses new product from the catalog is just a bonus!!

Cardstock: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink:
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Big Shot, Confetti Stars Border Punch,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Glue Dots

Yesterday John and I went to visit our daughter and son-in-law while they were camped at a local park.  The weather was absolutely awesome to spend outside.  Jason and Julie cooked a great lunch and we certainly enjoyed our day.

Today's weather looks to be about perfect again.  i am not sure what is on our schedule for today . . . maybe absolutely nothing . . . and that would be fine with me!!

Today is the last of the cards I have to show you using retiring product. Hopefully tomorrow I can show you some sneak peeks of new stamp sets that will be available June 1st.

My plan yesterday was to start stamping with new products that have been arriving on my doorstep for the last couple of weeks, but as I was starting to stamp I received some sad news.  My friend, Judy, who I have been taking to appointments and such, lost her battle with cancer yesterday morning.  I know she is in a much better place and is not suffering anymore, but I will miss her.

Butterfly Basics

While this card does not use any retiring stamp sets it does use some other retiring product . . . the Typeset Designer Series Paper and the 1" Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim.

This is another one of the cards everyone made on Monday night.

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Yardstick: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Typeset
Ink:  Tip Top Taupe, Basic Gray

Yesterday was a very busy day cleaning and purging, but I am now done. Everything is put away in a space and there are not piles all over the floor to trip on any more.  I will be having a massive garage sale however because I have three huge totes of stamps as well as some other stuff to sell!!

Today I actually get to play with some of the new colors and stamps that have been arriving at my house that I have been too busy to even look at!!!

Happy Birthday, Everyone

This hostess set is perfect for birthday cards for everyone, just like it says!! The font isn't flowery and is a good generic greeting for anyone. Paired with the other words in the set, I think you are covered for just about any birthday card.  This hostess set will be retiring next Tuesday, so if you want it, all you need to do is get some other retiring sets worth $150 and it is yours for free.

This is one of the cards everyone made on Monday night.

Stamps: Happy Birthday, Everyone
Yardstick: Mint Macaron, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, Vellum
Designer Series Paper: Birthday Bouquet
Ink: Mint Macaron
Accessories: Balloon Bouquet Punch,
Whisper White Baker's Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

This is a thing of beauty!!!

We do not have central air in our house and ever since we have lived here we have not thought it was possible to put a room air conditioner in my craft room.  I finally found one that was small enough to fit in the window so went to Lowe's yesterday and got it!!  It has made all the difference in the world!! Besides which, in order to put it in, I had to move a lot of the furniture and stuff I had stored, so I am taking the opportunity to do more purging!!  I will be having a huge garage sale sometime in June with all of the stuff I am finding that I no longer use!!  Stay tuned!!

Bravo

Bravo is a set I took off my shelf to make some graduation cards and realized that it really has some other pretty cool words in it.  Too bad I waited so long to make better use of it!!

This is another one of the cards everyone got to make on Monday night.

Stamps: Bravoe

Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Night Of Navy, Lost lagoon, Smoky Slate

Yesterday was a busy day starting with volunteering at Hospice, visiting my friend, Judy, in the afternoon, and then attending an appreciation reception Hospice was hosting for their volunteers.  I left home a little before 8 and didn't get home till after 6 in the evening.  I even won a gerber daisy as a door prize at the reception.

Today I am going to continue my purge and reorganization of my new stamping shelves.  I also started a good book last night so may spend part of the day reading!!

Everything Eleanor

Everything Eleanor was a stamp set Hanna saw and thought we needed to have.  I must say she was probably right as I have used it a lot, particularly on wedding cards.

This is one of the cards that everyone got to make last night at Make-It-Monday.  Since I totally sold out of wedding cards at my sale last weekend, I will probably make up a bunch more of these  to have on hand.

Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Happy Happenings
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Versamark, Silver Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is my volunteer day at Hospice and then I am going to stop and see my friend Judy.

I am really anxious to finish arranging and purging my stamp room since I have these nice new (old) furniture pieces!!  I have nothing that I have to do the rest of the week so I should have plenty of time to work on it!!

Beautiful Bunch

Only a short time left to get any of the stamps that you would like that are on the retirement list.  This card uses two of those stamps.

This has always been one of my favorite color combinations.  I also absolutely love the sentiment about life not having to be perfect to be good.  There is a lot of truth to that statement.

Stamps: Beautiful Bunch, Perfect Pennants
Yardstick: Basic Gray, Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: So saffron, Basic Gray
Accessories: Banners Framelits, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder,
Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Fun Flower Punch, Watermelon Wonder 1" Dotted Lace Trim,
Neutrals Candy Dots, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was an awesome day at the flea market.  I did find my shelves and one other piece of furniture that will soon go in my stamping room.

It was absolutely the exact right size to fit where I wanted it to go.  I am in the process of cleaning and purging supplies again, now that I have these awesome shelves.

Remarkable You

Here is another swap basket card.  Remarkable You is one of those stamp sets that has such different images in it that you can make several cards with totally different looks and just the one set.  The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes Kit.

I rarely take the time to poke around the edges of things like on this card but I really like the look if it.

Stamps: Remarkable You, Watercolor Wishes
Yardstick: Whisper White Thick, Old Olive, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Blender Pens, Paper Piercing Tool, Updated Essentials Piercing Pack

Yesterday was another perfect day at the Spring Flea and Fair.  I was beat by the time I got packed up, home and then unpacked!!  It was an early night for me.

Today as soon as I am done posting this our daughter is picking us up and we are going to another flea market . . . this time as shoppers.  This flea market has always had the best stuff so we are hoping for great things again today.  I am in the market for a new set of shelves for my stamping room.  Hopefully today is the day.  When I get home I need to get things cut and ready for tomorrow night's Make It Monday!!

Best Thoughts

This set is one of my all time favorite hostess sets.    I love Butterflies, but I also love the sentiment that comes with the set!!

Once again this card is from my swap basket.

Stamps: Best Thoughts, Pavilion Potpourri
Yardstick: Soft Sky, Cucumber Crush, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Cucumber Crush, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon

Yesterday was an awesome day at the Spring Flea and Fair at the Barn.

It was a great dat to be outside . . . the weather was awesome and the atmosphere at The Barn great.

It is so much fun to see and talk to people that I haven't seen in a while.  And . . . I have such nice neighbors at my end of the tent.  There are three of us that have been there for the last three shows and we have become friends . . . it is so nice to have people you can depend on to watch your stuff if you need to go to the bathroom or get something to eat.  Looking forward to another great day!!

Remembering Your Birthday

This is another card that I pulled from my swap basket.  I can't really even tell you if I got it at convention or from a local swap.

I love how the negative space makes the flower in this card.

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for the first day of the Spring Flea and Fair at the Barn.  The weather is going to be great so I am hoping for a great sale.

Floral Wings

I have been so busy getting things ready for this weekend that I found I had no new cards ready for blog posts so I went to my trusty box of swaps that I have received over the last year and picked some out for the next few days.

This is actually a hostess set that I have not used nearly as much as it deserved.

Stamps: Floral Wings
Yardstick: basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Basic Rhinestone Jewels

Today is going to be a very busy day.  I have spent the morning gathering up everything I will need for the next two days and setting it by the back door to load in the car tomorrow morning.  As soon as I am done posting this I am off to Iowa City to have a CT and hopefully get a pedicure and a manicure just for fun.  This evening I am supposed to go to a community meeting if I get home in time and feel like it.  But the good news is that I am ready and excited for tomorrow and Saturday's show at the Barn Spring Flea and Fair.

Just For You

What have I been doing the last couple days you might ask??

Here are just 50 of the 400 little 3 X 3 notes that I have made for the Barn Flea and fair this weekend.  I made 200 of them like this with a coupon in them that will go in the swag bags they will give the first 200 shoppers through the gate on Friday.

I also made another 200 of them with "thank you" instead of "just for you" to include with purchases.  All of the product used on these little cards was from my stash of retired stuff.  Believe it or not, I got all 400 of them done yesterday afternoon and this morning.

Now I am back to making graduation hats gift boxes!!

Graduation Hat Gift Box

I had a chance yesterday to work in my stamp room getting some things ready for The Barn Spring Flea and Fair.  I found this pattern to make a graduation hat gift or favor box.

They are super simple to make and I think will be a big hit this weekend.

They are also a perfect size to hold a small gift, cash, or gift card.

Today after I get home from a doctor's appointment I will be making more of these little hats and also finishing up a couple of other projects for this weekend.

Going Global

This was the first stamp set that caught my eye when I saw the Occasions catalog and it is one I will really miss.  Paired with the World Traveler Embossing Folder it makes a really striking card.

This is one of the cards that everyone stamping Monday night got to make.  I also had a Happy Birthday stamp that was the same size that people could use if they did not need a Father's Day card.

Stamps: Going Global
!!Yardstick: Whisper White Thick, Lost Lagoon, Basic black
Designer Series Paper: Neutrals Color Collection
Ink: basic Black
Accessories: World Traveler Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

I think today will again be spent in my stamping room, other than running a few errands this afternoon.  The weather looks so nice and sunny, but it needs to be a little warmer for me to want to spend too much time outdoors.  I am looking forward to warmer mornings so that I can walk in comfort!!

Kinda Eclectic

Today's card is one last sympathy card I made for an order a couple of weeks ago.  It uses the corner punch that is retiring later this month.  I love the layered look when using this punch.

Once again the sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit. When you order these kits, not only do you get the supplies to make either cards or a 3D project, you also get an exclusive stamp set.  The stamps sets are always very cool and I have used them a lot for other projects once I have used up my provided supplies.

Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Gorgeous Grunge, Paper Pumpkin Sentiment
Yardstick: Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron, Lost Lagoon
Accessories: Chalk talk Framelits, Big Shot, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Hanna's scrapbooks were delivered safely yesterday afternoon, so today I can turn my focus to getting things ready for a big craft show next weekend.  I am mostly ready but just want to finish up a few more things and maybe make some child's birthday cards.

Serene Silhouettes

Even though this card took a little explaining on Monday night I think it was a favorite of people.  I love the emboss resist technique.

For a change I was really happy with the way my sponging and shading turned out.  Many times my sponging is okay but I am not happy with it  Not the case this time.

Stamps:  Serene Silhouettes, Papillon Potpourri
Yardstick:  Whisper White Thick, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Smoky Slate
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Night of Navy
Accessories: Lovely lace and Elegant Dots Embossing Folders, Big Shot,
Versa Mark, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy,
White Embossing Powder, Sponge Daubers,
Pearl Basic Jewels, Bitty Butterfly Punch,
Banner Triple Punch, Stampin Dimensionals

Hanna's scrapbooks are done and I will be delivering them this afternoon.  I get to meet one of her friends in Pella that is graduating tomorrow and then she will take them the rest of the way to Adel.  I am happy that I don't have to go all the way to Des Moines and that I don't have to put them in the mail!!

Feel Goods

Hopefully today will be just like this card . . . full of sunshine.  After the last few rainy days, sunshine will be most welcome.  But if not . . . .then this card will have to do!!

This is another one of the cards that everyone made on Monday night.  Like I said in another post . . . I love all of the sentiments that are in this retiring set!!

Stamps: Feel Goods, Kinda Eclectic
Yardstick: Whisper White Thick, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: It's My Party, Have a Cuppa, Cherry On Top
Ink: Crushed Curry, Basic Black
Accessories: Circles Collection Framelits,
Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder,
Banner Triple Punch, 1/4" Daffodil Delight Cotton Ribbon

Today will continue the scrapbook project for Hanna.  Last year I vowed that I would make these throughout the year rather than waiting till the last minute, and you can clearly see that did not work.  Hopefully next year I can make try to do better!!

Party Wishes

Masculine or gender neutral birthday cards are not the easiest for me to make, however I think this one fits the bill perfectly!!  This  could be for all ages and either a boy or a girl!!

It is another one that everybody made on Monday night.

Enjoy the Little Things

This sentiment from the retiring set Enjoy the Little Thing is also one of my favorites!!   Sometimes I think we get so caught up in the big things of life that we forget about the little things and miss out on a lot of enjoyment!!

This was another one of the cards that everyone made at Make-It-Monday last night.

Stamps: Enjoy the Little Things
Yardstick: Watermelon Wonder, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Birthday Bouquet, Everyday Chic
Ink: basic Black
Accessories: Updated Essentials, Piercing Guideline,

Today is my volunteer morning at Hospice.  Believe it or not I think I will be coming home right afterwards as I have no errands to run or appointments in the city.  I will be working on Hanna'a scrapbooks when I get home.  They are all basically constructed . . . I just need to finish decorating them and then to get the personalization on all of them!!  Yeah . . . I may make my goal of getting them in the mail this week!!

Feel Goods

Tonight's stamp night is focusing on retiring stamp sets so for the next few days that is what you will see.  I am really going to be sorry to see this stamp set go because I LOVE all of the sentiments in it and they are perfect for my life!!

This saying from the Feel Goods stamp set is oh so true!!!  One of the best things that happened this weekend was when Hanna surprised me and met us for lunch on Saturday!!  It was awesome!!

Stamps: Feel Goods, Summer Silhouettes, Hardwood
Yardstick: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Basic Black

Everything is ready for tonight so I think Hanna's scrapbooks are going to be on the agenda for today.  I would like to get them in the mail for her sometime this week!!

Remarkable You

I think these calla lilies make the perfect sympathy card.  This is another one of the cards I made for the order I delivered last week.

It was really difficult not to bling this card up some, because it seems kind of plain, but then I decided since it is a sympathy card that plain was best.

Stamps: Remarkable You, Tin of Cards
Yardstick: Whisper White Thick, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Blender Pen

Yesterday was a perfect day.  We left early in the morning for the What Cheer Flea Market and walked around until almost noon . . . or right before it started to rain.  I didn't find the perfect shelves, but I know they are out there somewhere just waiting for me to find them.  After leaving What Cheer, my son-in-law wanted to run into Washington to pick up a lawn tool he had rented and then we decided to go to the Mexican Restaurant in Washington for lunch.  Low and behold . . . when I walked in the door . . . there was Hanna.  She and her sister had planned this all out where she would surprise me and come home to celebrate Mother's Day.  Needless to say I was surprised.

In the evening I went to a potluck supper for the seniors that attended Washington Township Elementary.  It was really neat to see how grown up they are and to hear their future plans.

Today is a relaxing day getting ready for stamp night tomorrow night!!

Serene Silhouettes

Reverse masking was the second technique we worked with on Thursday night.  It is such an easy technique but makes an awesome card.

Serene Silhouettes is one of those stamp sets I don't think I will ever get rid of.  I use it a LOT, especially when I am making gender neutral sympathy cards.

Stamps: Serene Silhouette, Butterfly Basics

Cardstock: Marina Mist, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: about 10
Ink: Marina Mist, Hello Honey, Basic Black
Accessories: Bold Butterfly Framelits, Big Shot,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Sponge Daubers

As soon as I am done posting this we will be heading to the What Cheer Flea Market with our daughter and son-in-law.  This has become somewhat of an annual thing.  I am on the lookout for some new shelves for my stamping room to replace the ones that are falling apart.  I got the present ones at a garage sale in southern Missouri when we were visiting John's brother about 10 years ago and I think I only paid about $15 for them.  They have served me well, but desperately need to be replaced.  Hopefully today is the day!!
