Moon Baby

One of the things people always ask me for at craft fairs is baby cards, so I have been working on several of those.  The Moon Baby set is perfect!!

I am really liking the watercolor pencils and either using the blender pens or the aqua painter and we certainly have a lot of watercolor paper around our house.

Stamps: Moon Baby
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Daffodil Delight,
Whisper White, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Archival Basic Black
Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits,
Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Lace Doilies,
Watercolor Pencils, AquaPainter, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today's agenda includes purging my closet of all the clothes that are now too big for me.  I have thought about keeping some of my favorites, but decided that I certainly don't want to grow back into them so Goodwill is going to be getting several bags of clothes.  Hopefully there will be a little time and energy for stamping this afternoon, but I may not do much more than sit and read!!

Balloon Adventures

Everybody needs birthday cards and I love the colors in this one . . . based on the colors of the Designer Series Paper . . . Carried Away.   I haven't used much of the hot air balloon themed paper, but I love the patterns on the other side of the paper.

This is one of the cards everybody gets to make tonight.

Stamps: Balloon Adventures
Cardstock: Peekaboo Peach, Night of Navy,
Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Carried Away
Ink: Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach
Accessories: Balloon Bouquet Punch,
Peekaboo Peach 3/8" Ruched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

The big news around the Wilson household is that I bought a new vacuum cleaner over the weekend that I am going to break out of the box today and figure out how to use.  John and I decided this is the first new vacuum cleaner we have bought since we were married almost 28 years ago.  We both had vacuums when we got married and then I brought my mom's vacuum cleaner home after she and my dad were both gone.  I figure I am entitled to one vacuum every 28 years!!

I had a little time to play yesterday with some of the new Sale-a-Bration products that are being offered though the end of March.  I love, love, love the new glimmer paper.

This is one of the cards everyone will make tomorrow night at Make-It-Monday.  I just happened to have a sharpie marker that matched the Bermuda Bay glimmer paper perfectly!!

Yesterday was a great day filled with stamping, resting, family, and good food!!  The weather did not deter us from our night out and I certainly enjoyed myself!!

Today I am planning on spending the bulk of it in my stamping room by my space heater, with a good cup of coffee and awesome stamps from the Sale-a-Bration and Occasions catalogs.

So Very Much

It has been wonderful spending time in my stamping room just working away on cards I have seen while I have been resting and browsing the internet. This is another one of those!!

It is also another one of the cards everyone will be making on Monday night. Other than the cardstock, ink, and pearls, everything else used to make this card is a Sale-a-Bration item that you can earn for free!!

Stamps: So Very Much, Avant Garden
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizazz
Accessories: basic Pearl Jewels, 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack

I am certainly hoping the snow stays away from this area as we have plans to go out for supper tonight for my birthday with our daughter and son-in-law.  I DO have a lot to celebrate this year!!

Avant Garden

Avant Garden once again . . . . but this time with the other flower stamp that is in the set!!  Watermelon Wonder is one of my favorite In-Colors and I will be sorry to see it go when it retires in May!!

I think this is going to  be one of the cards everyone will be making Monday night at Make-It-Monday.  I am trying to include one card each month that is not a traditional folded card and this one fits the bill.

Stamps: Avant Garden
Cardstock: Watermelon Wonder, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: Urban Underground
Ink: Basic Black, Watermelon Wonder
Accessories: Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive Markers

Yesterday morning I went to Iowa City early to run some errands and had every intention of coming home and working in my stamp room.  I stayed in Iowa City longer than I thought I would so stamping did not happen yesterday as I rested in the afternoon.  Since yesterday was National Margarita Day, John and I went to the local Mexican restaurant for supper.  There was a huge bunch of co-workers there having supper so it was good to see them and catch up on life.  Today there is nothing on the schedule so I am definitely heading to my stamping room after I finish this and my coffee!!

Avant Garden

My Avant Garden got quite a workout yesterday and I am not done with it yet. It will get plenty of use again today!!  This is one that I made yesterday.

Sweet Sugarplum was probably my least favorite new In-Color last year when they were introduced and it is now my go-to color all the time!!

Stamps: Avant Garden, Beautiful You
Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick, Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Basic Gray

I can't believe how gorgeous today is going to be . . . I am feeling the need to go somewhere just so I can enjoy the sunshine!!  Especially since I think winter will be making a return this weekend.  I guess we will see where my mood takes me as soon as I get ready to meet the rest of the day!!!

Avant Garden

John left early this morning to spend the day trout fishing with a friend so I got an early start in my stamp room.  I decided to take a Sale-a-Bration stamp set and make several cards with it before putting it away.  This is a card I saw on one of my groups but I do not remember which one.

Do you notice anything new on this card??

Stamps: Avant Garden
Cardstock:Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, Wisteria Wonder, Mint Macaron
Accessories: 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack,
Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer Paper

The Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper is one of three new Sale-a-Bration products that are available starting today.  Click here to check out the three new products!!  The glimmer paper is to die for . . .so pretty in person.

Glue Dots

I love when my stamping products can have multiple uses!!  I bought this awesome pair of earrings from a fundraiser that Hanna was having.  I really love the way they look!!

But, they had one big problem . . . they were very noisy when I wore them and about drove me crazy.  So I thought outside the box and thought about what I might have in my craft room that could help me out.

Glue dots immediately came to mind!!

A couple of strategically placed glue dots on each earring and voila!!!

I now have beautiful and QUIET earrings!!!

I clearly have some of my energy back as today has been spent cleaning out my kitchen cabinets and going out for lunch with a friend.   I do believe it will be an early night however!!  Hopefully I will have a card idea tomorrow!!

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for another shopping day in Des Moines with Hanna and Julie.  I am so fortunate to be able to go and spend the day with them.  Not sure how much actual shopping I will do this time, after our Chicago excursion, but any time we spend together is a great time!!

Avant Garden

If you are in need of many simple, easy to reproduce birthday cards, then this is the one for you.  Once again this was a swap from a couple of weeks ago, but there was no name on it and I neglected to write it down when we were swapping.

This is also one that everybody got to make last Monday night.  This picture and the one in the catalog really does not do justice to the beautiful ribbon that is one of the Sale-a-Bration choices!!

Stamps: Avant garden, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock: Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: 2016-2018 Paper Stack
Ink: Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Gray
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Big Shot,
3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo, Stampin' Dimensionals

There has been no blog post the last couple of days, because I have done nothing but rest.  The weekend trip of shopping, stamp class Monday night, and appointments on Tuesday made me tireder that I thought.  I like to think of myself as totally back to normal, but the reality is that I still get tired . . . more that I would like to admit!!  So I have taken the last two days to do nothing but rest and read in my recliner.  Today I have grocery shopping to do and hope to have energy to spend some time stamping this afternoon.  It is going to be such a beautiful day I may spend some time outside as well!!

Lift Me Up

Lift Me Up is another one of those stamp sets that I didn't think I needed until I started seeing things made with it.  This card, by a stamping friend, Rory, is the one that really sold me on the set.

This is another one of the cards everybody got to make last night at Make-It-Monday.

Today started out with a trip to the dentist . . . not my favorite thing in the world.  However, this appointment went very well and I was home by noon. Resting is on the agenda for a while and then John and I decided we needed to go out for supper for Valentine's Day!  A great ending to the day!!

Beautiful You

Check out another card that everybody gets to make at stamp night tonight. It was a shoebox swap from a couple of weeks ago, but I do not remember who brought it.

It is certainly a good thing that I had almost everything ready for stamp night before I left for our weekend shopping trip.  I have certainly got a slow start today and have just kind of been taking it easy after a very busy two days.  I am sure after stamp night tonight I will be resting a good share of tomorrow as well!!

Valentine Matchbox Treat Holders

Here Is what has been keeping me busy in my stamping room and recliner this week.

I have made 100 of these little babies in various designs.  They are really easy to do!!  And I did most of them from the comfort of my recliner!!

Inside each one is a little snack size M & M!!

When I started out I was just going to make some for Hanna to take to school but when I realized how easy they were I thought of many other groups I could give them to.  And I lucked out on the candy when I went to Target because it was on sale!!!

As soon as I am done posting this I need to get busy and get my bags packed. Hanna is coming home mid-afternoon and then we are picking up Julie and we are off to our annual February Girl's Shopping Get-Away.  This year we are heading towards the Aurora/Chicago area.  I am really looking forward to the weekend and this little get-away.  It seems like forever since I have been anywhere except to doctor's appointments!!!

Beautiful You

Beautiful You is a stamp set that appealed to me the first time I laid eyes on it in the catalog when we were in Madison last November.  It is not so much the images that grabbed me, but the sentiments.  The birthday sentiment is probably my least favorite, but it really fits with this image.

Tonight is my monthly shoe box swap night with five other ladies who love to stamp just as much as I do.  This is one of the swaps I am taking.

Stamps: Beautiful You
Cardstock:Whisper White Thick, Basic Black,
Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Watermelon Wonder
Accessories: Layering vans Framelits, Big Shot,
5/8" Watermelon Wonder Mini Striped Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

This morning has been spent in my stamp room getting my swaps ready for tonight.  I decided I probably needed to rest a little before being out tonight. One of these days, hopefully, I won't need to stop and rest so often!!

Happy Celebrations

Guy cards are always hard for me to make and this one that Susie had for a shoebox swap last week is perfect!! With a quick change out of colors and Designer Series Paper, this would be perfect for women and children as well.

This is another one of the cards that everybody got to make last week.

Designer Series Paper: Carried Away
Ink: Smoky Slate
Accessories: Celebrations Duo Textured

Dragonfly Dreams

Dragonfly Dreams was one of the stamps sets I knew I would love the first time I saw it in the catalog.   This card was one of the shoebox swaps that my friend, Susie, provided last Saturday when we got together to stamp.

It is also one of the cards that everyone got to make last Monday.  I love the watercolor pencils and all of the different things that you can do with them!! They were on backorder but are now available again!!!

Shimmery White, Whisper White (inside)

Since yesterday was a day of NO ambition, I am hoping today will be very productive.  As soon as I am done posting this I am heading to my stamping room to spend the morning there and see what I can get done.  I want to watch both the Hawkeyes play basketball and also the Super Bowl later this afternoon.  We will see how much I accomplish!!!

Valentine Wreath

Today has been a no ambition day . . . I think because it is so gray outside.  I did manage to make this Valentine wreath . . . but I did it from the comfort of my recliner.

My friend, Susie, had one of these last Saturday when we were at her house so I decided to try one.

I only used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and the Neutrals Designer Series Paper.  I wanted to add a few black and white hearts to my wreath so it would match the valentine's decorations that I have made or had given to me the last couple of years.

I think I may finish my book this afternoon and then plan on working in my stamping room tomorrow.  Hopefully I will have more ambition then!!

This morning was an errand running kind of morning and this evening I think John and I are going out for supper with some friends.  No stamping today, as I probably should rest this afternoon.  Hopefully tomorrow can be a whole day spent in my stamp room as there is nothing on my agenda as of now!!

Sealed With Love

Another one of the blogs I look at frequently is one called Inking Idaho.  A while back she had this delightful Valentine's Day card and I knew it would be perfect for a Make-It-Monday.

Everyone got to make this card at my first Sale-a-Bration Make-It-Monday, a couple of weeks ago.  I love how easily this card went together with a minimum of supplies.

Stamps: Sealed With Love
Cardstock: Real Red, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Ink: Black Archival, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Love Notes Framelits, Bog Shot, Owl Builder Punch, Glue Dots

As soon as I am done posting this I am off for a coffee date at the local coffee shop with a friend who I taught with for 35 years.  This afternoon I think I am going to finish stamping some cards and then maybe have the energy to take my Christmas decorations down.  That has not been a priority for me, but since February has rolled around it is probably time.
