It was a long couple of days but we did get home from the hospital about 6:00 last night.  I think we both slept like rocks last night!!  Although he is moving slowly today, I know he feels way better than when we left home on Thursday for the ER.

Today I am finishing getting ready for the craft show I am doing this Sunday. Yes, I am going to go ahead and do it at John's insistence.  Luckily we can set up this afternoon, so that will make tomorrow a shorter day.  If you are looking for something to do Sunday, come out to Bella Sala in Tiffin for the Corridor Arts and Craft Show.    Click here to read all about it.  Hope to see you there!!

Flower Patch

I have not used the set, Flower Patch, in quite some time so I decided that it was high time it saw some ink again.

This is another one of the cards everyone made on Monday night.

Stamps: Flower Patch
Cardstock: Flirty Flamingo, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper
Ink: Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals

You know the saying . . . the best laid plans . . . well that is the way the Wilson household rolls!!  Instead of a celebratory dinner last night, Julie, Jason, and I ended up eating in the hospital cafeteria.  John has not been feeling the best and yesterday I decided he needed to see a doctor.  They had no appointments and told me to just take him to the ER.  After being there all afternoon and evening, it was decided that he had a kidney stone and an infected kidney.  They talked about doing surgery last night but decided to wait until this morning, so he is in surgery as I am typing this.  Like I said . . . never a dull moment.  If all goes well, he might come home late this evening, but more probably Saturday or Sunday.

Flourishing Phrases

Like I said the other day I am looking for ways to use up the designer series paper I have on hand before the end of the stamping year, May 31st.  So I made up a bunch of sympathy cards using different panels of the Falling In Love paper.

Super simple to make and nice to have on hand. I always have to have sympathy cards on hand because I can never make one when I need it.

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Falling In Love
Ink: Tip Top Taupe
Accessories: Flourish Thinlits, Big Shot

As soon as I am done posting this I am on my way for my weekly physical therapy appointment.  Not sure it is helping as much as I would like but I guess it takes time.

This evening we are going out for supper to celebrate Jason's award from last weekend.  He NEVER decides where we are going to go, but this time it is totally his choice and he HAS to make it.  I am sure any place he decides will be delicious!!

All Things Thanks

I have a ton of Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper so I just had to use some of it on a card for Make-It-Monday!!

Today will definitely be a stay at home day because I had to take my car in because it was making a "funny noise".  I don't know how he did it, but when I explained what the noise sounded like and when it was happening, Kenny (the mechanic we use), seemed to know exactly what it was!!  I guess that's why he is the mechanic and I make cards!!  LOL

Suite Sentiments

I am glad that the Lift Me Up stamp set is carrying over to the new catalog, but am sorry to see Suite Sentiments retiring!!  It has such cool sentiments in it.

This is one of the cards everyone made last night at Make-It-Monday.

I changed it up a little bit this morning to make this card for my son-in-law. He is manager of the Arnold's Auto Store in Washington and over the weekend was named manager of the year for 2016 for all of the Arnold's stores throughout the midwest.  I thought this was a pretty big honor so made some cookies and this card this morning to take to his store this morning.

This was also a big day in the hair department today as well.  First thing this morning I went and had my hair shaped and the back of my head and neck cleaned up a little bit.  I can't believe how much better it feels.  Little things do make a difference.

Everyday is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!!

Kinda Eclectic

I love, love, love this stamp set . . . Kinda Eclectic.  It is one I am truly sorry to see retire.  Luckily I have two of them, because it was a set that was given away at convention one of the years that Hanna went with me.  Just in case I wear one out!!!

I just had to include a card made with it for tonight's The Sun Is Setting on These Stamps Make-It-Monday.

I need to continue to work in my stamp room this afternoon getting ready for a craft show this Sunday.

When we went to Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago, Susie provided some projects for us to make while she and Christy were at a Leadership event. This is one of those cards.

Blooms and Wishes

This is the second card I took to our shoebox swap Wednesday night.  Once again I am trying to use up some of my Designer Series paper.

I am actually thinking of changing the greeting out to Happy Birthday when I stamp up the extras that I have.  It seems that people send more birthday cards than just general cards.

Designer Series Paper:  Falling in Love
Ink: Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Layering Ovals Framelits, Flourish Framelits,

After sleeping most of yesterday and all night last night I think I am good to go again.  There is nothing actually on my agenda, so I may start to figure out what I want to do for Make-It-Monday next week.

Special Reason

Last night was the monthly get-together of the group of ladies where we each take two shoebox swaps.  This is one of them I took that I found on a blog I look at . . . Stamp With Amy.

I love how springy this card looks, and I have a ton of Designer Series Paper to use up so I may be making multiples of this in the near future!!

Floral Phrases

Yesterday I had a lot of time in my stamp room and was working on projects for an upcoming craft fair.

This stationary box is one that I have been wanting to make for along time.

It is made using an empty Project Life card box.  I certainly have plenty of those around, and this is a great way to repurpose them.

The box holds these 8 note cards and envelopes as well as a pen.

Stamps: Floral Phrases
Cardstock: Night of Navy
Designer Series Paper: Floral Boutique
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Small Notecards and Envelopes

I think these would make an awesome Mother's Day gift and I have several more I want to make today using different Designer Series Paper.  I hope to get those posted in the coming days.

April Paper Pumpkin

It's no secret that I love getting my Paper Pumpkin every month.  But this month they absolutely outdid themselves!!!

This month's kit provided all the supplies to make these twelve watercolored cards.

The kit made four of each of these cards.  I would be hard pressed to tell you which of these is my favorite!!  And they were so simple . . . it took me less than an hour to complete all twelve cards.

I chose to make Mother's Day cards for an upcoming craft show, but as you can see there were many other sentiments included in the kit.

If you would like to receive monthly kits like this one so you could make awesome projects and cards, let me know and I will get you signed up so you can receive next month's kit!!!

I managed to get my order of forty cards done yesterday and delivered this morning. I was certainly glad I did, since I picked up my Paper Pumpkin on the way home and went right to work on it.  Now that it is done as well, I need to make a pan of rhubarb crisp with some rhubarb a friend of John's dropped off this morning and then get back to work on some craft show projects.  I think I have more energy when the sun is shining and I can hear the birds chirping through my open windows!!!

Nailed It

This stamp set and framelits must have been a favorite of a lot of people because it sold out right away, once the retirement list was announced.  The stamp set is still available, just not the framelits.  I still had to share this card that everyone got to make last Monday night.

A lot of my stamp sets I will sell after they have retired, but this is one I am going to keep, as it is so good for guy cards!!

Stamps: Nailed It, Urban District
Cardstock: Delightful Dijon, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Basic Black
Accessories: Build It Framelits, Hexagon Embossing Folder,
Big Shot, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens,
Urban Underground Embellishments, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was an organizing day for me.  I got my stamp shelves all rearranged and ordered, with the retiring sets pulled off and new stamps sets tagged and put on the shelves.  I also re-inked all of my ink pads and got my new In-Colors that I received early because I went to On-Stage all arranged and labeled.  The only thing I need to do with new product is to get my Designer Series Paper and my cardstock changed out.  That may wait for a while, because I have an order of cards that I need to get done.  I plan on getting to work on those as soon as I am done running some errands in Iowa City.

Beautiful You

As I sit in my stamping room looking out at the rain I decided this was the perfect card for today.  I am so glad that this set is carrying over to the new catalog.  I can't say often enough how much I really do love it!!

This card is so easy to make and would make an awesome set of cards for those hard to buy for people, when you need a gift.

Designer Series Paper: 2016-2018 Envelope Paper
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Black

Believe it or not I have my little heater going in my stamping room, for some reason I feel a bit of a chill today even though I know it is not that cold.  Now . . . to get all of the stamping done today that I would like to do!!!  Never enough hours in the day, even though I am retired and have all the time I want!!

Special Reason

It always amazes me which stamp sets Stampin' Up! chooses to retire and which ones they choose to keep.  This stamp set is one I am sorry they are not keeping from the Occasions catalog!! I know they can't keep them all . . . but really!!!!

This is another one of the cards everyone got to make on Monday night.

Stamps: Special Reason, All Things Thanks
Cardstock: Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White
Ink:Sweet Sugarplum, Old Olive
Accessories: Metal Rimmed Pearls

Physical therapy went quite well yesterday and I am hoping that it really helps.  I don't think my shoulder kept me awake quite as much last night so I think that is a good sign.

Today will be busy with stamping up the remaining packets from last Monday night's stamp night and maybe doing a little reading.  Since I have been on the go quite a bit lately, laundry and things like that are also calling my name . . . not as much fun as stamping or traveling but needs to be done!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Balloon Adventures

This is supposed to be a birthday card, but it is sort of the way I feel about the new catalog right now!!!  I can't wait to see what all people can come up with for the new stamps that will be offered.

Tired Tuesday has come and gone and I am on the go again.  As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to one appointment and then after that I have my first physical therapy appointment for my shoulder.  I will be home for a little while and the John and I are meeting one of our nieces for supper. She lives in the St. Louis area and is a rep for an ultrasound machine company.  She is at the University of Iowa for a few days and so we are meeting her to catch up!!  Good thing I rested all day yesterday!!

Beautiful You

One of the best parts about attending a Stampin' Up! event is the swapping that goes on.  This is the card that I took to swap this weekend.

Not knowing for sure what accessories would be carried over to the new catalog I wanted to come up with something that did not use any, but was still interesting to look at.  With Hanna's help (of course) I was pretty pleased with the result.

Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White
