Wood Words

I have had some time to play in my stamp room this weekend, focusing on one new stamp set at a time, so you are likely to see lots of cards made with each stamp set.  The first one I chose was Wood Words.  I likely found this one on Pinterest as that is the first place I turn to for card ideas now.

I love the combination of Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler, especially with this stamp set.

Pocketful of Sunshine

I love this stamp set . . . and it is one that I won as a door prize at On Stage in Minneapolis.  As soon as I saw it I thought to myself . . . now I can make rose colored glasses cards for real!!

This is one of the cards that Susie provided for us to stamp last month when we went to her house to share about On Stage.  I love it and with the sunny weather today, finally, I thought it was so appropriate.

Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Sunburst Thinlits--Retiring, Big Shot,

We got home from the hospital yesterday about 1:00 in the afternoon . . . to a mess!!!  We had some heavy rains in the morning and our sewer in the basement had backed up with the help of some tree roots!!  Luckily someone could come out and clean the pipe . . . even if it did cost us extra for an after hours trip.  By the time we  both went to bed last night . . . which was quit early . . . all of the Wilson plumbing . . . both in the house and in John was working great!!  He just has to have another procedure in another month to remove the stent they place in his kidney.

Hopefully I will find a little time this afternoon or evening to spend in my stamp room!!

Decorated Card Tin

Yesterday afternoon I actually worked on a few new craft show items. One of them was a decorated tin I got during Sale-aBration.

The front of the tin has letters cut out from the Large Letters Framelits and the pieces that were left over after I finished my Watercolor Wishes card Kit.

I took some Affectionately Yours Washi Tape and laid it across the top of the card dividers provided with the tin and then punched out computer generated headings with the Classic Label punch.

I am trying to decide if I want to sell these full of cards or just the decorated tins that people could choose their own cards to fill it with.  Any ideas???

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to an appointment for my shoulder and then I am intending on sitting on my patio with a good book this afternoon since it is supposed to be warmer and the sun is supposed to be shining!!

Today has been a busy day already and it is only mid-afternoon.  We started the day with John having a stress test based on some symptoms he had been having.  When we were done we did a little shopping for some more patio plants and paid a visit to the cemetery to leave some flowers for my parents.  When we got home, I got the wild idea to actually CLEAN my refrigerator, not just get rid of stuff in the garbage.  As I was cleaning it I realized it had not been done since I got sick last summer.  I knew it needed to be cleaned, I just did not realize how badly it needed to be cleaned . . . but at least I can say it has been done now.  I am thinking after a quick trip to the post office that I may rest for a bit before making potato salad for supper and grilling some steaks.

Yesterday was a great day in Des Moines.  We found a couch for her new apartment, had a great lunch, and enjoyed spending time together.  I got home early evening, had a quick bite to eat, and was off to a graduation party.  Luckily since it was an outside party, the rain held off.  It was great to see the graduates, as well as many other people I haven't seen for a while.

Grateful Bunch

I have been going through all of the swaps I have received lately from the stamping events I have been to looking for cool ideas that use some of the retiring sets.  This is one of those cards!!

Last night we had a get together for one of the community groups that I belong to at a local greenhouse.  It is always one of our favorite places to meet because Maryanne always has such cool ideas for plant groupings and she always has cool information to share.  Last night was no exception and there were several pots of plants that I decided I needed to have for my patio.  So even though it was raining this morning I went back out and purchased them.  My patio now has tons of color and I am anxiously awaiting sunshine and warmer temperatures!!

High Tide

It has been an interesting 48 hours around the Wilson household . . . but no more so than usual.  More on that later.  I did manage to squeeze in a little stamping time to work on another craft show project.

I am becoming obsessed with turning my Project Life boxes into little stationary kits.

Each kit contains six little note cards . . . two of each of the following.

And of course, decorated envelopes!!  Check out the close ups of the three cards.

Stamps: High Tide
Cardstock: Crumb Cake notecards (retired), Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

After I last posted, I was headed up to the hospital, to spend some time with my great nephew who had surgery on Monday.  I actually ended up spending all of yesterday afternoon at the hospital as well with him and his mom. Luckily, things are going better today and they got discharged this afternoon.

So . . . on to the second patient . . . John.  He had a doctor's appointment this morning and needs some further testing on some health issues . . . none of which are related to the kidney stone that we are still dealing with.  It sure is a good thing that I do not have an aversion to hospitals or doctors!!!  I am thinking that some of my Paper Pumpkins that I have been stockpiling might be making their way to some of these appointments with me!!  At least my own appointments are getting fewer and further between!!!

Colorful Seasons

Here is another sneak peek at new catalog product.  This is another one of the cards we made as a Make and Take at the Onstage Presentation

These Memories and More card packs are perfect for adding interest to your cards in a VERY easy way.  Here we have two cards layered on top of each other and the flower is cut from a third card from the pack.

Stamps: Colorful Seasons

Ink:  Dapper Denim, Old Olive
Accessories: Color Theory Memories and More Card Pack,
3/8" Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon

Yesterday's lunch was everything I expected it to be . . . good friends, laughs, and good food.  I think we sat there for about four and a half hours just visiting about everything under the sun.

Today as soon as I am done posting this I am off to Iowa City to visit a great nephew that is in the hospital and then stop to pick up more plants for my patio.  Depending on how hot it is when I get home, I may sit out there or if it is too hot I will probably spend the remainder of the day in my stamping room.

Daisy Delight

Are you ready for some sneak peeks at new catalog product?  This is one of the make and take cards that we made when I went to Minneapolis.  I love the Daisy Punch and coordinating stamp set!!

Yesterday John and I took the day to clean off the old part of the patio and go to Iowa City to buy plants and stuff to set around.  Boy did my shoulder tell me that I overdid yesterday.  I had planned to spend the morning washing off all of the furniture, but decided that could wait for another day, so I baked a cake for John to take to coffee this afternoon.  I am meeting some friends for lunch (which usually goes till the late hours of the afternoon), and then plan to spend the evening in my stamp room!!

If I rode a motorcycle, today would be a great day to it.  I have had this card for quite a while, just haven't remembered to share it yet.  I believe it is a swap I received from my demonstrator friend, Christy.

Eastern Beauty

This is a card I was fortunate enough to be able to make at a stamping meeting a couple of weeks ago at my fired Susie's house.  She had a downline meeting where we shared a lot of what we saw when we went to Minneapolis and this is one of the cards she shared that she made for a swap group she belongs to.  I thought it would be a great card to share last Monday night.

Nailed It

Nailed It is another one of the stamp sets that is due to retire in a few weeks. It is one that I have a feeling I will be keeping for some of the guy cards I make for craft shows.

This is also one of the cards that everyone got to make on Monday night.  I found it on a blog I look at from a stamper called stampercamper.  It was fun to see how people changed it up some depending on the sentiment they wanted to use.

Stamps: Nailed It
Cardstock:  Smoky Slate, Basic Black,
Delightful Dijon, Very Vanilla, Silver Foil  yesterday
Designer Series Paper: Urban Underground
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Build It Framelits Dies, Big Shot,
Urban Underground Embellishments,
Stampin' Dimensionals

The scrapbooks are done and in the mail.  Hanna should have them by Friday, so she will have two or three weeks to get the photos put into them.  The remainder of the day I spent in my room purging and reorganizing all of the new stamping materials I got Monday in my pre-order from the new catalog. Now that things are organized, I can start to play with new stamps and colors. That will have to wait until after my physical therapy appointment this morning, however.  At least it is first thing in the morning, instead of right in the middle of the day!!
