Colorful Seasons

I have been seeing many cards made with the Color Theory Memories and More Card Pack as I have been surfing the Internet.

I decided I needed to give it a try this morning.  It probably took me less than 45 minutes to  assemble everything, do the stamping and die cutting, and put the cards together.

Stamps: Colorful Season, Burlap Background
Cardstock: Old Olive, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Color Theory
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Layering Squares Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits,

Check out the close-ups of each card!!  I am thrilled with the way they all turned out!!

Check back the rest of the week for the other three seasons!!  I guess you know what I will be doing the rest of the day!!

Oh So Eclectic

Like I said . . . Oh So Eclectic has been sitting on my stamping table for quite a while and I have been using it a lot.

I think I might have mentioned before that I really like the new In Color . . . Berry Burst . . . and I really like the way it pairs with Basic Black.

Stamps: Oh So Eclectic, Stylized Birthday
Cardstock: Berry Burst, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy, Basic Black

Today has started out as a lazy day and I don't see anything changing this afternoon.  After a week of non stop activity, my recliner and TV with the Cubs playing is calling my name.  I only hope I can stay awake throughout the whole game!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

A Little Wild

Here we have another card everyone made this week, that was yet another swap that Susie brought to our meeting last month.

I absolutely love this combination of colors!!  I'm also thinking that this would make a cute valentine card in reds and blacks!!

Stamps: A Little Wild
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Pick a Pattern
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: 2" Circle Punch, 2 1/4" Circle Punch,
Crushed Curry Baker's Twine,
Clear Wink of Stella, Stampin Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for another day in Des Moines.  Julie and Jason are picking me up and we are meeting Hanna for a fun day of  . . . . whatever we want to do!!

A Little Wild

I have decided that I just love this little elephant.  There are equally as cute other animals in this set but the elephant just seems to call my name.

I could make baby cards with him all day long!!

Stamps: A Little Wild, Baby Bear
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Designer Series Paper: Coffee Break
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: 2" Circle Punch, 2 1/4" Circle Punch

Wow . . . what a day!  I can't believe I am just now getting around to posting this.  Our day started early this morning with John having an appointment and routine procedure done at the hospital.  I got John  home and turned around and walked out the door to meet Hanna and some friends in Kalona for lunch. They then came back to the house and we designed Save the Date cards and wedding invitations for one of Hanna's friends.   So . . . this is the first opportunity I have had to just sit!!  I don't think I will be doing much else today!!

Oh So Eclectic

So this card, that was one of Susie's swaps at a demonstrator meeting a while back, was supposed to be one of the cards everyone made last Monday.

I told you yesterday that it had been sitting on my stamp table for a while and I decided it was time for it to be used!!

Unfortunately it continued to sit on my stamp table as I forgot to pack it up with the rest of the supplies for Monday night.  So instead this is the card I came up with on the spur of the moment with the stamp sets that I had with me!

Stamps: Oh So Eclectic or Label Me Pretty
Cardstock: Berry Burst, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Color Theory
Ink: Berry Burst, Basic Black, Old Olive
Accessories: Layering Circle Framelits, Big Shot,
Blender Pens, Pretty Label Punch,
1 1/4" Circle Punch, White Perfect Accents,
Stampin' Dimensionals

It turned out okay and everyone was happy with the replacement.

Yesterday's trip to the Des Moines area was a huge success.  We found a few goodies, met Hanna and a friend for lunch, and planned our next outing on the way home.  We want to try to squeeze in an overnight trip before Luetta has to start back to school.

Oh So Eclectic

Oh So Eclectic has been sitting on my stamping table for a while and I decided it needed some use.  I am definitely becoming a fan of tone on tone cards.  I can remember when Hanna first suggested this I was totally appalled . . . but I really like them now!!

This would be an awesome card if you needed a LOT of thank you cards.  It probable took me less than five minutes and that included cutting the cardstock.

Stamps: Oh So Eclectic, One Big Meaning
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist,
Peekaboo Peach, Tempting Tuquoise

Today Luetta and I are making a trip to the Des Moines area to visit some of the stamping and scrapbooking stores that are there.  I think Hanna is going to meet us for lunch as well.  I'm not sure what else we will find but I am sure there will be something!!

Celebrate You

This is one of the cards that Susie provided as a swap when we got together last month.  I thought it was so cute and everybody always needs birthday cards!!

This is one of the cards that everyone stamping this week got to make. You can't really tell in the picture but it opens a little differently than a traditional card.  The Daffodil Delight cardstock on the left pulls open for a z-fold type of card.

Stamps: Celebrate You
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Birthday Memories
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories: 1/4" Pacific Point Stitched Edge Ribbon,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be a very low key day.  I am going to do a little resting, a little reading, a little watching the Cubs, and a whole lot of nothing else.  The rest of the week looks to be very busy so I am laying low when I can!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Label Me Pretty

Today's card is another one I found on Stamp With Georgia's website.  I think Berry Burst may be my favorite new In Color!

This is also one of the cards everyone will be making tonight.

Stamps: Label Me Pretty
Cardstock: Berry Burst, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Fresh Florals
Ink: Berry Burst
Accessories: Softly Falling Embossing Folder,
Big Shot, Pretty Label Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch,
1/2" Berry Burst Finely Woven Ribbon,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Everything is ready for tonight sitting by the door just waiting for me to load it in the car.  I need to bake a batch of cookies for John to take to Old Guy Coffee this afternoon and I hope to work in my stamp room a little before the Cubs game this afternoon as well.  It sure is good to see a little bit cooler temperatures, so sitting outside maybe in the future as well!

Eastern Beauty

Last fall I had joined a Facebook group that was geared toward improving your Stampin' Up! business and customer service.  In the course of the discussion about some of the challenges that were given for us to do I mentioned that it was Tired Tuesday because I had had chemo the week before and that I had not been able to complete the challenge.  Another very successful demonstrator posted back right away about her experiences with chemo and to be kind to myself and allow myself the grace to rest.  I started following her blog . . . Stamp With Georgia . . . as she had been sharing her health journey as well as stamping ideas.  She is a very inspirational person and I found her posts to be particularly uplifting.

I continue to follow her blog and this is one of the cards she had posted a while back.  It is also one of the cards that we will be making tomorrow night.

Stamps: Eastern Beauty
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink: Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Happy Birthday Thinlits, Big Shot,
Fine Tip Glue Pen, Glitter Enamel Dots

Our day yesterday in LeClaire was just about perfect.  It did not start to get hot or uncomfortable till about 2 in the afternoon.  Since we were winding down about then, it worked out great.  We the lunch at the Blue Iguana, which is where my family always eats when we are there.  We got to eat outside on the patio overlooking the Mississippi River.  Since there was a great breeze it was quite comfortable.  It was a day of good conversation, good shopping, good food, but most importantly . . . good friends!!

Tranquil Tulips

I just can't seem to get way from Tranquil Tulips!!  It is easily my favorite Stampin' Rewards set in a LONG time!!  This was another one of my Pinterest finds the other day.  It was one of four cards in a set, each one having different color tulips.  The Daffodil Delight one really stood out to me.

This is one of the cards everybody will be making Monday night.

Stamps: Tranquil Tulips, Eastern Beauty
Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Delightful Daisy
Ink: Tranquil Tide, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black
Accessories: 3/8" Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for a day trip with some friends to little towns along the Mississippi River.  We plan to do a little shopping, a little eating, and a lot of visiting!!

A Little Wild

When I first saw this stamp set in the new catalog, I was like "Ehhh".  It really didn't appeal to me al that much.  But then . . . I went to the demonstrator meeting at Susie's and she had a couple of cards made with it and they were so cute I decided I had to have it.  Yesterday when I was in my stamping room I was persuing Pinterest and I came across a ton of cool ideas for this set. This is just one of them!!!

At first I wasn't sure how I was going to make the top part of the mobile, but it is really very easy with a couple of small strips of cardstock!!  I am not really sure who to give credit to, because sometimes on Pinterest it is hard to trace back to the original poster, especially if there is no watermark on the card.

Stamps: A Little Wild, Happy Celebrations
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky,
Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Coffee Break
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Little Loves Framelits, Big Shot, Soft Sky Marker,
Classic Label Punch, Soft Sky 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon

Since today is going to be another exceptionally hot day I am thinking staying in my stamping room, stamping the day away will be a good idea.  I may even start getting ready for Make-It-Monday which is next week!!

Oh So Eclectic

Now that I have started using Oh So Eclectic . . . I just can't seem to stop. This is a card I found on Pinterest and thought it was pretty cool.

This is definitely not a color combination I would have thought of but it certainly seems to work!!

Stamps: Oh So Eclectic
Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Soft Sky, Lemon Lime Twist
Accessories: Eclectic Layers Framelits, Big Shot,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

For the last couple of days neither John nor I have felt all that great . . . not sure if it was the heat or just tired from activity.  However after a couple of days of doing not much of anything today is a much better day for both of us!! Still not going out in the heat, but at least he is painting again and I am back in my stamp room!!

Label Me Pretty

This stamp set . . . Label Me Pretty . . . has been sitting unused on my shelf since we could pre-order-pre-order the first of April.  I decided it was time to change that!!

Now . . . don't get me wrong . . . I love our framelits and dies, but I love punches more!!  They are so easy to use and I was thrilled to use two different punches on this card!!

Stamps: Label Me Pretty
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Berry Burst, White
Designer Series Paper: Fresh Florals
Ink: Berry Burst
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Pretty Label Punch

Ever since I was a little girl, summertime has been the time to read, read, read!!  When I was teaching, this held true as well, because I could read as late into the night as I wanted and didn't have to worry about getting up to go to work.  Now that I am retired, you would think that I would read anytime I wanted . . . because I really don't have to get up for any particular thing in the morning.  But 55 years of a habit is a hard thing to break . . . I still do most of my reading in the summer and this summer has been no exception. So on an exceptionally hot afternoon, I can't think of a better thing to do than sit in the comfort of my air conditioner, with my ice tea and a good book!!

Oh So Eclectic

Yesterday I got an order in that had some new stamp sets in it . . . not that I have used all the new ones I got before!!  Oh So Eclectic was one of those sets.

I love the soft subtle pink color in this card!!!  And I don't know why I do not use Sahara Sand more . . . it really is a pretty color in combination with others.

Stamps: Oh So Eclectic, Colorful Seasons
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette, Whisper Whte
Ink: Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Yesterday's lunch and errand running was quite successful.  I found just the right color of paint for the palette flat John and I are going to make.

Today, after some morning appointments, I hope to spend the afternoon in my stamping room.

Daisy Delight

I just can't seem to get away from Daisy Delight!!  I love both the stamps and the Designer Series Paper.  I think one of the reasons it appeals to me so much is that I have always loved dark blue and yellow together.

This is another one of the cards someone brought as a swap a couple of weeks ago, but I don't remember who.

Stamps: Daisy Delight, BirthdayBlossoms
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Delightful Daisy
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits,
Layering Ovals Framelits, Big Shot,
Daisy Punch, Gold Faceted Gems, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today looks to be another beautiful day . . . so I think I need to be out in it!! Luetta and I are going out for lunch, and I am sure we will fit in a little errand running or shopping as well!!

Better Together

Stamping time has been at a minimum this week . . . as I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with my family and their families.  This is a card that Lori brought as a swap last month when we got together to stamp on a Saturday.

I love the way Lori cut out the Happy Birthday out of the Berry Burst cardstock and then replaced it with Happy Birthday die cut out of white.

Stamps: Better Together
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Emerald Envy, Berry Burst, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Berry Burst, Crushed Curry and Berry Burst Markers
Accessories: Happy Birthday Thinlit

Today is going to be a lazy day around the Wilson household.  Watching the cubs on TV this afternoon is about as strenuous as it is going to get.  I may try to plan some upcoming classes while watching the game.

Tranquil Tulips

I just had to make one more card with the Tranquil Tulips set before I put it away for a while.

I just love how very easy this set is to line up and get a perfect tulip every time!!

Stamps: Tranquil Tulips, One Big Meaning
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive, Soft Suede, Wisteria Wonder, Powder Pink, Berry Burst
Accessories: Basic Pearl Jewels

I am headed back out to the campground for one last visit before the camping weekend wraps up.  It looks to be a beautiful day, with no rain in sight, for which I am sure they are very thankful after surviving three nights of hard rain and strong winds.

Ribbon Of Courage

I am not sure there was another stamp set that I was as excited about for my own personal stamping as this one . . . Ribbon of Courage.  Because the awareness color for lymphoma is lime green the Lemon Lime Twist was the perfect color.

Using other colors and other sentiments in the stamp set, this would be a perfect card for anyone struggling with cancer.  The other sentiments are . . . Courage . . . LIVE every moment, LAUGH every day, LOVE with all your heart . . . and Sending Love and Hugs to you.

Stamps: Ribbon of Courage
Cardstock: Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Designer Series Paper: Fresh Florals
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist
Accessories: Stampin Dimensionals

As I have spent time with my family this week, I am reminded of how truly blessed I am.  It has been a great week not only with my immediate family, but with my brothers, their families, and their families families.

Coffee Cafe

Once again I just had to use Coffee Cafe . . . especially since it was still sitting on my stamping table waiting to be put away.

Check out the funky fold as the card opens up where the close pin is holding it shut for the picture.  Instead of using the designer series paper that is designed to go with this set, I again used the Timeless Texture stamp set to make my own background.  And of course what cup of coffee would be complete without the lipstick stain on the rim!!

Stamps: Coffee Cafe, Timeless Texture
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Coffee Cup Framelits, Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am taking off for the campgrounds again to do a little visiting.  After my day of rest yesterday I am ready to go again!!

Daisy Delight

I finally decided it was time to use some of the other stamps in the Daisy Delight stamp set besides the daisy and the thank you.  The other flowers are equally as cool.

This was another one of the cards that everyone got to make on Monday night.  It was a little bit of a challenge but I think everyone survived.

Stamps: Daisy Delight
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Accessories: Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon

Yesterday was a good day of shopping for treasures.  I got several things for my display tables and I don't think I spent over $5 total.  I came home mid-afternoon and rested the rest of the day.  Today is going to be another day of rest . . . I am learning to listen to when I need to slow down.  I am not a good listener, but I am getting better.

So Many Shells

Oh dear . . .  another stamp set that got me because of its sentiments!!!  The ones is this stamp set are awesome!!!

This is another one of the cards everyone will be making tonight at Make-It-Monday.

Stamps: So Many Shells, Timeless Textures
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Powder Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink: Crumb Cake, Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was another fun day of family, friends, sitting, and visiting.  Even though it was warmer yesterday the shade and the breeze made it very enjoyable.

I am excited for tonight's Make-It-Monday because my sister-in-law, her sister, niece,  sister-in-law, and my niece will be joining me for stamping.  Lori and I have shared hobbies for almost 30 years . . . the first time I ever met her we were making cross stitched padded photo albums.  Seems like just yesterday!!!
