Everything Is Rosy

I do think Night of Navy and Melon Mambo may become one of my favorite color combinations.  If this suite weren't so expensive I think I might get another one just for the ribbons and the designer series paper!!

Remember you only have two more days to get your very own Everything Is Rosy Kit!!  You won't regret it!!

Yesterday's lunch was very enjoyable.  A lot of visiting, some eating and a lot of reminiscing and being thankful we are where we are in life!!  I made a grocery run after lunch and was home in time to fix supper before the baseball game started.  I think I am almost finished with my swaps for this weekend . . . they just need to be put in the clear envelopes.  I am meeting my friend, Luetta, at the local coffee shop after school so she can take them for me to the downline meeting!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Everything Is Rose

The more I work with this suite of products the more in love with it I am.   This card was on a blog I follow, Stamp With Amy.

I particularly love the designer series paper in this suite.  It is to die for and you only have two days left to get your very own.

I was a stampin fool yesterday, stamping away on my swaps.  I continued last night during the Cubs game.  I was coloring in 48 sets of leaves and 72 roses. It was a good thing I had something else to do because the game sure was not that good.  I have a few more roses to color and then I need to die cut all of those things.  I hope I can get that done this morning before I meet some friends for lunch.  This is the lunch that usually goes until late afternoon, so I want to get everything done this morning so that I can put my cards together during the game tonight!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Even though I am no longer teaching there is something about the end of the school year drawing near that is exciting!!  Summer is about to start!!  And even though every day is a Saturday or a summer day in my retired world, I just feel freer as summer approaches.  Today is going to be an errand day and then I am working on some swaps for an event this weekend.  And of course, baseball this evening!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Loyal and True

I know I have shown this card before, but I thought it was especially appropriate for today, Memorial Day, as we honor those whose gave all to protect and defend our country.

This card design was taken from the catalog and one I used at Technique/Stamp Club last year.  I still love the card and its sentiment.

Sailing Home

I wanted some thank you notes to send to some very special people and wanted to use this verse on them.  Knowing the RGB printer codes of our Stampin' Up! colors comes in very handy!!

The verse was just the right size to put in the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  And the anchor was the perfect embellishment.

Stamps: Sailing Home (NEW)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Stitched Nested Labels Dies  (NEW), Smooth sailing Dies (NEW),
Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals

John and I took a ride this morning while it was nice and sunny.  We love to go looking at all of the flags that are out on this weekend.  While there were not as many as there used to be it was still an enjoyable morning.

We stopped at the local greenhouse to get a couple more plants and then stopped at the grocery store to get a roasted chicken and some potato salad.  Made it home just in time to watch the Cubs this afternoon!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

To A Wild Rose

This stamp set . . . To A Wild Rose . . . is one that was designer by a million dollar achiever at Stampin' Up!!  I love the images but I love the sentiments more.

There are several smaller groups of words that would go with the sentiment "blessed".  I love the font in the "Blessed" sentiment and the fact that it is so big!!

Stamps: To A Wild Rose (NEW)
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Purple Posy (NEW), Gorgeous Grape
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Purple Posy (NEW)
Accessories:  Wild Rose Dies (NEW), Big Shot, Basic Rhinestone Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Noisy night last night . . . because of the wind our power kept flickering so our back up power surge battery for the TV kept going off and had to be reset.  At least that is all it was . . . and not the tornadoes that were around the area earlier in the evening.

This morning some friends are coming down and we are going to plan a short get-a-way to Chicago the second week in June.  I have always wanted to go to Navy Pier and so we are taking the train up there for a few days.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Floral Essence

Here is another one of the cards that we made as a make and take at On Stage last month.  This Perennial Essence Suite is absolutely awesome.   At first glance the Perennial Essence Floral Centers might seem a little much, but they really do add a different dimension to cards.

The designer series paper reminds me of a Monet painting.  They are beautiful!!!

Stamps: Floral Esssence
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Perennial Essence, Prennial Essence Vellum
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Perennial Flower Punch, Perennial Essence Floral Centers,
Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Rain, rain, rain . . . . I am hoping to go to Iowa City and put out some flowers for Mom and Dad between the raindrops.  I have some other errands to run and a stamping order to deliver while I am there as well.  I am hoping to get home to see the majority of the Cubs game this afternoon.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Southern Serenade

After stamping at Susie's event on Sunday, I just knew I had to include this card for my Monday night stamp night.  I LOVE the bright colors!!!  And I knew I had a ton of this designer series paper so it helped with my goal of using it up!!

So . . . everyone got to make a bonus card this time!!

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Blueberry Bushel, So Saffron
Designer Series Paper: Garden Impressions
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Tailored Tag Punch, Calypso Coral 3/8" Satin Ribbon,

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to go to the Public Library for a craft class on tile necklaces.  An appointment for my shoulder and an afternoon with the Cubs are the only other things on my schedule for today!!  I may spend some time like I did yesterday, outside reading and enjoying the warmer temperatures!!

It Starts With Art

Are you ready for a sneak peek at yet another new stamp set??  This was one of the cards that was a Make and Take at On Stage last month . . . It Starts With Art.

At first glance I was not all that taken with this set but as often happens after I have seen some samples made with it, I think it is pretty cool.  It has some pretty cool designer series paper that coordinates with it.  On one side are some art and stamping related images and on the reverse side are just colored patterns.  There is also a very cool embossing folder that coordinates!!

Stamps: It Starts With Art (NEW)
Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Follow Your Art (NEW)
Ink: Memento Black, Coastal Cabana
Stampin' Blends: Smoky Slate Light, Mint Macaron Light,
Petal Pink Dark, Pineapple Punch Dark
Accessories:  Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Woohoo!!!  Sunshine and warmer temperatures!!!  I know where this afternoon will find me . . . outside soaking up the weather and reading!!  And then of course the evening will be crafting in my recliner while watching the Cubs!!  A pretty perfect day!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Touches of Texture

Good-bye to another favorite stamp set . . . Touches of Texture.  I've used this stamp set here with spring colors, but my absolute favorite colors to use with it are the fall tone colors, yellows, oranges, rusts, and browns.

This is another one of the cards everyone stamping this week got to make. Paired here with other retiring products . . . Berry Burst cardstock and ink, it would work for any occasion with a change of sentiments.

Stamps: Touches of Texture (Retiring), Best Birds (Retiring)
Cardstock: Berry Burst (Retiring), Whisper White
Ink: Berry Burst (Retiring), Crumb cake, Memento Black
Accessories: Clear Faceted Gems, Basic Rhinestone Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I can hardly believe this but I have almost two whole weeks without a ton of stuff scheduled  . . . just a local appointment for my shoulder on Thursday afternoon.  What to do, what to do, what not do??  I would like to say I will sit on my patio in the warm weather and sunshine and read, but I doubt that will happen for a while at least looking at the forecast.  Cubs games are on in the evenings so I still have all day to do something else.  I do have a couple of books I want to finish so that  may be on the agenda for today at least!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Just Because

Hostess sets are not usually one of the stamp sets that I purchase when they are in a catalog.  This Just Because set was an exception when I saw it in the Occasions Catalog.  This plant stamp seems to me to be a great one to use for anybody.  This is a card that everyone will be making at Make-It-Monday.

It is also one that I made with the fourth graders on my last visit with them.  They made cards to encourage people undergoing treatment for cancer that we are going to deliver to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the nurses to hand out to people in need of encouragement.  The messages they wrote in the cards were so heartwarming.  It was a really cool experience to see them work so hard on these cards.

Stamps: Just Because
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Nature's Poem
Ink: Memento Black, Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow Markers
Accessories:  5/8" Burlap Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Everything is ready to go for tonight just sitting by the door waiting for me to load it in the car.  Either I am getting more organized or when I am super busy I get things done ahed of time but it is nice to have everything ready to go without scrambling around today.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

We had a great weekend in Omaha.  Proud Mom moment here!!

We very rarely get a picture of all six of us because someone is always taking the picture.  A very nice lady in the parking lot offered to take a picture so all of us could be in it!!

The trip over and back went very well, but I could have done without the pouring rain all of the way home yesterday.

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to spend my afternoon stamping with my friends, Susie and Christy.

This morning we are headed to brunch, before the actual graduation ceremony.  We are headed home this afternoon and hope to be home before dark,  Again poraying for safe travels for everyone.

Daisy Delight/Best Birds

Still on a mission to use that designer series paper and here is another card to help me do that!!  Not quite sure why I never paired up Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaron before but I really kind of like it!!  Go figure . . . since Tranquil Tide only has a couple more weeks of being a current In Color!!

Thankful Thoughts

Today's card is another one that is helping me use up my stock pile of designer series paper.  It is one I made with the fourth graders a while back.

For some reason they really seemed to like this designer series paper.  I can't say it is one of my favorites, but I am glad they liked it because it helped me to use it up!!

Stamps: Thankful Thoughts (Retiring)
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Mango Melody, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Best Route (Retiring)
Ink:  Blueberry Bushel, Mango Melody,
Accessories:  Maps, Etc. Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Retiring),
Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle Punch (Retiring), 2" Circle Punch,
Starburst Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

One of the best parts of being retired is if something unexpected comes up during the day that I want to do I can say "Sure" and not worry about something not getting done.  I started the day with a hair appointment this morning and was on my way to drop my car off for an oil change when a friend called and wanted to know if I wanted to meet her for lunch at a tiny diner in Wellman.  Of course I said yes. . . . and am just now getting home at about 2:30.  I left this morning at 9:00 thinking that I would be home in a couple of hours.   Flexibility is great!!!

Floral Essence

Here is another sneak peek of two new stamp sets in the 2019-2020 Annual Idea Book and Catalog. The Floral Essence has so many cool options . . . it was also one of the stamp sets I got for free when I went to On Stage in April.

"You've Got This". . . I have many things sitting around my house with these words on it . . . daily reminders from the period of time when I was undergoing chemotherapy.  It seemed only fitting then, that my door prize from On Stage was the stamp set, Genuine Gems.  It is comprised of ten sentiment stamps to use on cards for people that need encouragement.

Stamps: Floral Essence (NEW), Genuine Gems (NEW)
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Ink: Crushed Curry, Early Call Me Clover,
Accessories: Artisan Pearls, Stampin Sponges

After yesterday, it is great to see the sun shining.  I think I am going to take advantage of it and go outside as soon as I am done posting this and get my back patio cleaned up so that I can sit outside in the afternoon with my book and soak up some of the warmth and sunshine.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Rooted In Nature

Thanks to Susie again, we have another card that is helping  me with my goal of using up my designer series paper.  This card combines some retiring product with new product.  Can you spy the new product??

This is the last of the cards that everyone made last week that stamped with me!!

Stamps: Rooted in Nature
Cardstock: Tranquil Tide (RETIRING), Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Nature's Poem (RETIRING)
Ink: Tranquil Tide

Big Shot, 3/4" Circle Punch  (RETIRING),

Yesterday was a very productive organizing day.  I now have all of the retiring stamps and paper off of the shelves and the new stamps and paper organized and on the shelves.  I also went through all of the Paper Pumpkin boxes that were sitting around and sorted those into the ones I want to keep and the ones I am going to sell.  Today I am planning on going through the punches and big shot dies and framelits.  I already have four big boxes of stuff for my garage sale and am anticipating more after today.  It sure is a good feeling to have it done!!

To Have and To Hold

I only have twenty two more days to use up my stash of current designer series paper.   I am planning on making up a bunch of these these this afternoon to have on hand for all of the anniversaries that I have coming up in the next couple of months.

Super simple, easy to reproduce  but yet uses many of the supplies that I am trying to use up . . . both the Fresh Fig paper and the designer series paper.

Stamps: To Have and To Hold
Cardstock: Fresh Fig, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Petal Promenade
Ink: Fresh Fig
Accessories: Gold Faceted Gems

Wow . . . a whole week with out any stamping events to get ready for!!  That is a good thing because I am trying to change over my stamp room and pulling all of the retired product and get the new product on my shelves.  I already have two big boxes packed for my garage sale and I have many more shelves to go through.  I am hoping to get all of that done today!!!  The Cubs don't play today so I should have plenty of time!!!

Tea Together

Happy Mother's Day!!!

One of the cards that the 4th graders wanted to make during one of our sessions was a Mother's Day card.  They loved the bright and cheery colors in this one!!

I like to use the designer series paper as a springboard to color combinations because they use colors I don't normally pick.  This would not have been my first choice of a color combination, but like I said, the kids loved it!!

Stamps: Tea Together
Cardstock: Pineapple Punch, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Happiness Blooms
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch, Starburst Punch,
Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Whisper White Baker's Twine,
 Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

We have been experiencing some problems with the desk top computer that John uses.  In trying to solve that problem we needed to get a new router, which caused some other difficulties.  I had no problem getting three of our devices connected to the new router, but the printer was giving me grief.  I have spent the morning on the phone with technical support trying to get it connected.  I think we finally have that accomplished.

Julie and Jason will be picking us up a little later on to go out for a Mother's Day supper.  I am horrible at making choices of where to go, so I think they have decided we are going to Iowa River Power. It doesn't make any difference to me where we go, the important thing is being together.

Amazing Life

Amazing Life . . . how true that is!!  Is it any wonder that I love the name of this stamp set??  This card, which everyone made this week, was also one that I made at Susie's Spring Fling the Saturday before I left for New York.

Birthday, Graduation, Congratulations . . . this card has you covered for just about any occasion!!  And it is so easy to make as well!!!

Grocery shopping, pulling retiring stamp sets off of my shelves, and assembling new stamp sets is on the agenda for today.  My plan is to get my shelves ready, and then assemble new stamp sets during the baseball game this afternoon.  If all goes as planned then I can just put them away after the game!!  I love this time of year . . . sort of bittersweet . . . retiring old favorites . . . but excited for new stamp sets and new favorites!!!

Floral Essence

Joseph's coat has always been one of my favorite techniques . . .this one has a little twist.  When I stamped at Susie's event a couple of weeks ago she had a card using this technique.  I believe it was one that she stamped when she went on her trip to Salt Lake City.

This card again uses some product from the new Idea Book and Catalog.  I love this new suite of products.  It is also one of the cards that we made at Technique/Stamp Club last night.

Stamps: Floral Essence (NEW)
Cardstock: Basic Black, Petal  Pink
Designer Series Paper: Perennial Essence (New)
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon, Stampin' Sponges,
Tailored Tag Punch,
Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

I guess it is time for me to get back to my normal routine . . . when I got up this morning I realized that today was my last time of stamping cards with the 4th graders.  Of course, I had to scramble around to get them designed and cut so I could be there at noon.  But never fear . . . it all got done and the kids really enjoyed making the cards.  Today was a special day as they were making thinking of you cards for cancer patients at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

I believe I will spend the rest of the afternoon watching the Cubs play baseball.

Floral Essence

Are you ready for some sneak peeks into the new Idea Book and Catalog??  I know tonight is not the first Thursday of the month, but since I was winging my way home from New York last Thursday, we are going to have Technique/Stamp Club tonight.  Have you ever thought about using your reinkers with your Wink of Stella pens?  That is exactly what I did here.  I saw a presentation when I was at On Stage about this very thing and thought it would make a great technique for Stamp Club.

The photo does not do it justice at all!!  It is just beautiful in person!!  And of course I needed to add a little extra bling to it . . . the Clear Faceted Gems were just the thing!!

Stamps: Floral Essence (New)
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Stazon Black
Accessories:  Gorgeous Grape Re-Inker, Clear Wink of Stella, Clear Faceted Gems

Wow . . . where did the sun and warmer temperatures go?  I definitely would like to have them back.  I am sure this summer I will be wishing for cooler temps!  Today's agenda consists of finishing getting things ready for stamp club tonight and then watching the Cubs this afternoon.  Two very exciting games the last two nights . . . .winning by hitting walk off home runs in the bottom of the last inning!  You could probably here me from where ever you may be!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!
