Good Morning Magnolia

If there is one suite in the new catalog that is a favorite of everyone, it is the Magnolia Suite.  This card, made with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set is another one that we made in New York.  My friend, Dawn, brought this card for us all to make.

I had used everything in this suite except for the embossing folder.  I love how it looks as an accent to the stamped pieces.

Stamps: Good Morning Magnolia
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Magnolia Memories Dies,
Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder, Versamark,
Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Timeless Label Punch,
Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets, Stampin' Dimensionals

Another whole day at home with nothing much to do other than finish up the cards for my friend.  Again, I can do most of that from my recliner while watching baseball.  Things are back to normal!!  LOL

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Bloom and Grow

One night while we were in New York, Rory, the demonstrator that we went to visit, had a downline meeting so we could meet all of the people she stamps with.  She provided several projects for us to stamp.  This is one of them.

I do have this stamp set, but had not had a chance to play with it yet.  That needs to change!  It is an awesome set.

Stamps: Bloom and Grow
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Very Vanilla
Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink Combo Pack
Accessories:  Tufted 3D Embossing Folder, Versamark,
Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today's agenda includes an order of 150 cards for a Back-To-School project for a friend.  Everything is cut out and stamped . . . it just needs to be assembled which I can do from my recliner while watching baseball.  Even though I love to travel, resting is important too!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Friend Like You

Swapping . . . it is one of the fun parts of getting together with other stampers.  This is the swap that I took to New York with me.  I absolutely love the See a Silhouette Designer Series paper.

I thought the sentiment was perfectly appropriate for a trip with good friends . . . and indeed the trip was perfect with friends!!

This is a Z-fold card and looks like this when open.

Stamps: Friend Like You
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: See a Silhouette
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Friendly Silhouettes Dies, Basic Pearl Jewels

Again . . . other than difficulties flying home on Saturday night the trip was perfect.  We went to several harbor towns along the St. Lawrence River and ate WAY too much food.

We took a boat ride out among the Thousand Islands and even left the country . . . into the Canadian waters of the St. Lawrence River.

We stopped at one of the islands and toured Boldt Castle . . . it was oh so amazing!!

One thing this trip did for me was reiterate that there are so many cool places to see and visit right here in the United States . . . my bucket list is growing again!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Flourishing Phrases

Here is another sympathy card I made last month.  Once again I am relying on the designer series paper to do the bulk of the work in the card.

Judging from the people's comments last night, they really like the idea of the paper doing the work.  In fact, I sold a lot of designer series paper last night because everyone loved the super simple way of making a card.

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Bird Ballad
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Black 1/2" Satin Ribbon

By the time most of you are reading this I will be winging my way to New York to visit a stamping friend that lives out there.  Susie and I left this morning in the wee hours and should be there by lunchtime.  I will not be blogging while I am there so if all goes well and we get home on time I should post again next Sunday morning.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Floral Essence

Holy Moly  . . . is the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper ever beautiful!!! This card, which comes from a blog I look at occasionally . . . The Stamp Shach . . . showcases it beautifully!!!  And it doesn't really matter which paper you choose or which side . . . they are all equally as beautiful!!

This card uses a lot of punches . . . four to be exact . . . but I think it is very pretty.  I hope everyone tonight thinks so too.

Stamps: Floral Essence

Designer Series Paper: Perennial Essence, Noble Peacock Specialty

Butterfly Wishes

Monochromatic cards are becoming a favorite of mine, although I know that everyone cares for them.  I found a card similar to this on a blog I follow from an Australian demonstrator . . . Kylie.  She used an inked embossing folder for the background, but since I am on a mission to use designer series paper, I thought this one was a good match.

This is another one of the cards that everyone will be making on Monday night.  Again the DistINKtive stamp and the designer series paper do much of the work for us!!

Stamps: Butterfly Wishes
Cardstock: Terracotta Tile, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Mosaic Mood
Ink: Terracotta Tile
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

I am loving this cooler weather!!  Yesterday when I was visiting my family it was VERY hot for the first hour or so I was there.  All of a sudden a wind kicked up and a front went through and I think that the temperatures must have dropped about twenty degrees.  It was very pleasant the rest of the afternoon.

Today I am going to finish up everything for tomorrow night, although it is mostly done.  I also need to finish up a swap to take to New York with me this week and also get my bags backed.  By the time I go to bed tonight I want to have everything ready to go on the off chance that the Wound Clinic calls me and I have an appointment.  I know if I don't get stuff ready they will call and if I do get stuff ready they won't.

Woven Heirlooms

Back again with another card from the order of sympathy cards . . . again using Woven Heirlooms.   It doesn't get much easier than this!!

I took my color inspiration from the designer series paper . . . but you could totally change the look of the card with whatever DSP you chose to use.

Stamps: Woven Heirlooms
Cardstock:  Vey Vanilla Thick, Terracotta Tile, Seaside Spray, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Woven Threads
Ink: Seaside Spray, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Layering Squares Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Hot Hot Hot . . . is the only way to describe it!!  John and I went out to West Overlook last night to visit my family that is camped out there.  Even though it was evening and there was somewhat of a breeze it was still quite warm.  I am going back out for a while today . . . not sure John is going because of the heat!  Glad that there will be a break in the temperatures tomorrow!!

Inspiring Iris

Purple and green has always been a favorite color combination of mine . . . reminds me of several of my favorite people.  This iris card is no exception.

This is another one of the cards that everyone will be making on Monday night.  I will have other sentiments that they can use if they prefer.

Stamps: Inspiring Iris
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Brights 6" X 6"
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Smoky Slate
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Dies, Subtle Embossing Folder,

I am hoping that I can get some swaps made today for my trip to New York. My family is camped at the Coralville Reservoir starting today . . . not sure I will go out to see them today . . . will probably wait until tomorrow . . . although I don't think it is suppose to be any cooler tomorrow!!

Sweetly Swirled

Make-It-Monday is going to be all about designer series paper.  We are letting the paper do most of the work for us!!

The See a Silhouette Paper has a design on one side and then just patterns on the other.  Either side of the paper works for this card.  It will be interesting to see which side everyone chooses.

Stamps: Sweetly Swirled
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: See a Silhouette
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Magnolia Lane Combo Pack,
Noble Peacock Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimenionals

Grounded . . . again . . . despite my efforts to keep my leg from becoming infected, it has.  So off to the doctor I go again later this afternoon . . . I am beginning to think that it is someone's way of making me rest whether I want to or not!!  Tonight was supposed to be the second technique club, but that is being postponed until next month.  So here I sit until later on this afternoon. At least it is too hot outside to be doing much of anything!!

Friend Like You

When I saw a card like this on Pinterest I thought to myself . . . "I will never be able to sponge like that!"  Guess what . . . you don't have to!!  It is one of the patterns in the See a Silhouette Designer Series paper!!  How easy could that be!!!  The only thing I wish I would have done is ink my Memento Ink Pad so that my sentiment would be a little bit darker!!

This is one of the cards everyone will be stamping next week.  I can hardly believe I have everything already done for that!!

Stamps: Friend Like You
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: See a Silhouette
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Friendly Silhouette Dies

HOT . . . HOT . . . HOT . . . I can't think of any other words to describe the next few days!!  I am so thankful that I don't have to be out working in this weather and if I do choose to go it it is my choice to do something fun.  Which is what I am doing today.  Luetta and I are planning a trip to Iowa City for lunch and who nows what else!!

Rooted In Nature

By no means a new stamp set, but one which I use a ton when I am making sympathy or thinking of you cards.  The design is appropriate no matter who you are sending it to!!

The stamping off technique lets you stay in the same color family but gives you totally different looks.   Pretty important when stamping tress as they are not all identical.

Stamps: Rooted In Nature
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early , Whisper White
Ink: Garden Green, Early Espresso Marker
Accessories:  Nature's Roots Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals

Holy cow . .  . I am way ahead of myself in getting ready for Make-It-Monday. The samples are all made, the cardstock is all cut, the supplies are all gathered . . . the reason for this you ask?  My family is all camping at the Coralville Reservoir this weekend and I am planning on spending time out there, so everything needed to be done before Friday.  I got on a roll yesterday and everything clicked so just kept working.  My leg cooperated and seems to be healing so far with no sign of infection so that was a huge help.

Woven Heirlooms

The first time I saw this designer series paper . . . Garden Lane . . . I thought "Woah . . . that is way too much green!!"  Now that I have used it for a while and know what colors to put with it to tone it down just a tad, I really like it!!!

The Woven Heirlooms stamp set is a great sympathy set, along with everything else it has going for it.  I particularly love the fonts that are used in the sentiments!!

Stamps: Woven Heirlooms
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, garden Green, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Garden Lane
Ink: Garden Green
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies,
1/4" Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I am hoping to work some in my stamp room today finishing up packets from the last two Make-it-Mondays.  I am woefully behind with that.  I would also like to start figuring out next Mondays cards because it will be here before you know it!!  We shall see how much I get done!!

Magnolia Blooms

The Magnolia Blooms stamp set from the Beginner's Brochure coordinates beautifully with all of the products in the Magnolia Suite in the Big Idea Book and Catalog.  And I know I have said it before, but I will say it again , . . I love the designer series paper not only in this suite but in all of the others as well.

This card which comes from Pinterest was one of the ones everybody made last week that stamped with me.  I am going to have a hard time not using this suite each time we have a Make-It-Monday!!

Stamps: Magnolia Blooms (Beginning Brochure)
Cardstock: Basic black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Magnolia Lane
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Mossy Meadow Combo Pack

5/8" Petal Pink Striped Organdy Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

My in-person garage sale is done and was quite successful . . . I have posted the remainder of the stamps, framelits, and dies in my LyndaSueStamps4U facebook group.  You can see them here.

I think I am going to lay low and rest today . . . clumsy person that I am I hit my leg on the bed frame again last night and flapped open a huge place on my shin.  I did the exact same thing last year after Hanna's wedding and it got infected and I had a hard time getting it to heal . . . so this time I am going to be more careful . . . although I thought I was last year as well.  I guess time will tell!!

Dandelion Wishes

The second technique we did on Thursday night was emboss resist.  This has always been a favorite technique of mine.

I tried it on this card I found on Pinterest with the new Shimmer White Embossing Powder.  I really like the look of it, but it was hard to see when the powder had been totally embossed.

Stamps:  Dandelion Wishes
Cardstock: Mint Macaron, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Mint Macaron
Accessories:  Versamark, Shimmer White Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Day 1 of the garage sale was a huge success . . . in fact I was so tired I fell asleep in my recliner and did not wake up until this morning.  There are still plenty of stamps, ink, and paper so come on over!!

Silhouette Scenes

I love teaching new techniques and have started a second Technique/.Stamp Club.  We met last night and this is one of the techniques we worked with . . . Reverse Masking.

I bought this set mostly for the sentiments but the silhouette stamps worked perfectly for this technique.

Stamps: Silhouette Scenes
Cardstock: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Layering Ovals Dies, Sponge Daubers, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

I can't believe I made it . . . but everything is set up and ready to go for the garage sale.

I literally have stamps on any flat surface in my house!!  Stop by and check it out!!

Here's a Card

Here's a Card . . . what a great name for  a stamp set!!  There are all kind of sentiments this set . . . for every occasion.  I found this card on a blog I follow . . . Stamp With Amy. Again . . . love how the designer series paper does all of the work for you!!

This is one of the cards everyone made this week.  I have a feeling listening to the comments everyone made that the die set . . . Petal Label dies was overlooked in the catalog by many just like me!!

Stamps: Here's A Card
Cardstock: Rococo Rose, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Pressed Petals
Ink: Rococo Rose
Stampin' Blends:  Rococo Rose Dark
Accessories:  Petal Label Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I am certainly glad I went to the doctor sooner rather than later yesterday. Five medications later I should be good to go with a little rest.  However . . . I have no time for rest . . . tonight is Technique Club, rescheduled since last Thursday was the 4th of July, and I need to finish getting ready for my garage sale this weekend.  Sunday will be my day of rest!!!

Woven Heirlooms

If you are a fan of vintage cards, then Woven Heirlooms is the stamp set for you.  The stamps and designer series paper in this suite lend themselves very well to vintage cards.

This was another on of the cards I made for the order of sympathy cards the first part of June.

Stamps: Woven Heirlooms
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Rococo Rose, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Woven Threads
Ink: Rococo Rose
Accessories:  Heirlooms Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folder,
Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack

Today is shaping up to be a very busy day.  A teaching friend and I are going to deliver some thinking of you cards that I made with the fourth graders to the Infusion Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  We are meeting for lunch and then taking the cards.  I have been saddled with a cough and itchy ears, and scratchy throat since coming home from Boston so decided that a trip to the doctor was in order so have an appointment for that before meeting for lunch.  When I get home I want to continue to pull stuff out of my stamping room for the garage sale this weekend.

Butterfly Wishes

I absolutely love these new "Distinktive" stamps from Stampin' Up!  The result is beautiful. The dimension that they give the stamped image is just awesome.

This super simple card is another one that everyone made last night at Make-It-Monday.  Sometimes simple is good!!!

Stamps: Butterfly Wishes
Cardstock: Pretty Peacock, Basic Black, Whisper White Thick, Whisper White (inside)
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Memento Black
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals

I have my cleaning clothes on and am ready to dive into the boxes that are under my stamping table.  Who knows what goodies I have stored under there and forgotten about?  Lots of odds and ends for the garage sale for sure!!

Daisy Lane

There are so many cool new stamp sets in the Annual Catalog and Idea Book but I seem to be drawn to the same stamp sets all the time.  Such is the case with the Daisy Lane set.

I was going to make this card in black, white, and yellow . . . but then decided to make it exactly as I saw it on a blog I follow . . . Stamp With Bonnie.  I did not want to be accused of making yet another Hawkeye card!! LOL

Stamps: Daisy Lane
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Seaside Spray, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: 2019-2020 In Color 6" X 6"
Ink: Memento Black, Seaside Spray
Stampin' Blends:  Seaside Spray Combo Pack, Daffodil Delight Dark

I have been so busy getting things ready for Make-It-Monday that I haven't even unpacked my suitcase yet.  That will be the first thing on my agenda for today.  Next will be to go to the grocery store before heading off to stamp night.  If you would like to join us let me know . . . I have plenty of packets cut!!

New Catalog Gift

A while back I posted a picture of a pyramid of these Stampin' Up! boxes, but did not reveal what was inside.  These were my New Catalog Open House Gifts.  Today is the day to reveal the contents.

Inside the boxes were two items.  The first is a cardstock ring . . . a sample of all fifty colors of cardstock that Stampin' Up! has.  Matching colors will be so easy with these samples.

The second thing was a set of new In Color sponges with handy handles.  I hate getting my fingers all inky when I am sponging on cardstock, and these are perfect for keeping my fingers clean.

Today my plan is to make several more of each of these as I have several people coming to Make-It-Monday tomorrow night that have not received theirs.  If you would like to come and make some cards and get a favor, let know and I will get you added to the list.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!
