Gather Together

Continuing with my fun fold cards, here is another one, that I took as a swap to the weekend stamping retreat that I went to a while back.  It is another Double Flap Fun Fold card.

I tried and tried to get a picture without the yellow tints but was not very successful.

I would have never put this color combination together on my own but took the inspiration from the designer series paper.  Once I started working with it I really like it!!

Stamps: Gather Together, Day of Thanks
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake, Whisper White (inside)
Designer Series Paper: Come To gather
Ink: Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Gathered Leaves Dies, Perfect Parcels Dies,
1 1/2" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today looks to be a beautiful day!!  Errands and maybe a little stamping are on the agenda for today.  Alas!!!  No baseball for me today!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Love What You Do

If you needed another reason to buy this fantastic designer series paper, Magnolia Lane, this is it!!!  Coloring in the flowers in various colors, totally changes the look of the paper!!

It is a very quick process . . . I colored enough pieces of designer series paper to make 24 cards in about 30 minutes.  The rest of the card is then super simple to put together.

Stamps: Love What You Do
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Magnolia Lane
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Pumpkin Pie Dark
Accessories: Layering Circles Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits,
Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday ended up being another great day of tailgating and football.  The breakfast food was excellent, the company was great, and the Hawks won!!!

Yesterday was the Harvest Gold game and the one that kept reminding me to wear gold seems to have forgotten that himself!!

Today will be another relaxing day watching the Cubs last game of the season!!  Whatever shall I do with no Cubs baseball to watch???

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Woven Heirlooms

I needed a sympathy card this week and actually did not have any on hand so whipped this one up pretty quickly so I could get my card sent in a timely fashion.

This was super simple to make and still had the handmade touch.

Stamps: Woven Heirlooms
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Merry Merlot, Very Vanilla
Ink: Merry Merlot
Accessories:  Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder, Metallic Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

By the time most of you are reading this I will be well on my way to tailgating for the Hawkeye football game today.  I sure am glad I got season tickets this year!!!

Beauty and Joy

I was rather undecided on this stamp set when I first saw it in the catalog but as often happens once I started seeing cards made with it, of course I had to have it!!!

This is one of the cards that everyone made last Monday night and I think they liked it too, if their comments are anything to go by!!

Stamps: Beauty & Joy
Cardstock: Merry Merlot, Pretty Peacock, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Come to Gather
Ink: Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede
Stampin' Blends:  Pretty Peacock Dark
Accessories: Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

A dark and rainy day is a good day to meet some friends for our long lunch at Pizza Ranch . . . so that is exactly what I am going to do!!  And then go to bed early so that I can be rested up for the Hawkeye game and tailgating tomorrow!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Gather Together

I have recently started following a new blog . . . The Paper Pixie.  She has all kinds of cute little candy wrapper designs as well as some awesome cards. This is one of the cards she had on her blog a while back.

This is one of the cards that everyone was supposed to make on Monday night, but it did not work out that way.  I forgot to take the big shot along as well as the Season of Thanks stamp.  So we adapted and used a different sentiment and just did two big copper embossed leaves and then cut them out with their paper snips.

Stamps: Gather Together
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Pretty Peacock, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Come To Gather
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Accessories:  Gathered Leaves Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies,
Versamark, Copper Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack, Designer Elements,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is another day of semi rest . . . mostly because I stayed up late last night finishing my book!!  That always comes back to be a problem because then I am tired enough to nap the next afternoon!!

Here's a Card

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is beautiful all by itself, but when you add some color to the flowers . . . it is a game changer.  Here is a card that I saw somewhere on Pinterest and just had to try.  The subtle colors that are already in the paper give shade and dimension to the flowers when they are colored with the Stampin' Blends.

Judging from peoples' reactions when they made this card on Monday night, they loved this technique also. Just imagine the possibilities!!!

Stamps: Here's a card
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake
Designer Series Paper: Magnolia Lane
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Stampin' Blends:  Blackberry Bliss Light
Accessories: Layering Circles Dies, Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack,
Braided Linen Trim, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was indeed a day of rest and today will be as well.  I may even sit outside and read the afternoon away as I think the temperatures will be just about perfect for that!!

Harvest Hellos

I love making all kinds of things to hold candy and little treats.  I made several of these cute little pumpkins to take with me this weekend.

I had actually gotten the little candy bars to put in these a while back before the cool fall packaged ones came out.  So of course, I had to buy them!!  Now I have two packages of non holiday candy bars . . . I am thinking that I need to get them packaged up before they disappear some other way!!  And neither John nor I need them.

Stamps: Harvest Hellos
Cardstock: Whisper White
Ink: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Old Olive
Stampin' Blends:Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack, Old Olive Light, Soft Suede dark
Accessories:  Simply Scored, Apple Builder Punch, Glue Dots, Tear and Tape

Today has been a lazy lazy day so far.  I told everyone last night at Make-It-Monday that I was doing nothing but resting for a few days and I am intending to keep to that!!!  At least until something comes along that I really want to do!!

Birds of a Feather

I saw this card several weeks ago on a site that I belong to . . . Creative Corner.  I got all of the paper cut and ready to go for the last Make-It-Monday and realized that I did not have that stamp set!!  Imagine that!!  So of course I had to order it because the birds in it are so stinkin' cute!!  I have several future cards in mind for it!!

This is one of the cards everyone is making tonight at Make-It-Monday.  I hope everyone likes it as much as I do!!!

Stamps: Birds of a Feather, Joy of Giving Tag Kit
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Regals 6" X 6"
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Pool Party Light, Real Red Dark, Smoky Slate, Mango Melody
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I spent the weekend with some of my stampin' friends at a stampin' retreat. We had a great time.  It was rainy and icky outside so what better way to spend the time!!  Yesterday afternoon some of us finished off the weekend by painting barn quilts in Keota.  Here is my finished product . . . . and of course it is Hawkeye colored!!

Not sure where it is going to go yet but I am pretty pleased with it!!  Today I need to finish getting ready for Make-It-Monday and making sure I have all of the supplies because I know I took several of them with me this weekend!!

Shine Bright

Last night was Technique/Stamp Club again for one of the groups.  They learned the label technique, but with a different stamp set than the first group.  I decided to try a Christmas card with the technique.  The trick is to find an image that will work!!

This Christmas tree worked pretty well.  You just need to position the stamp so none of the jewels will be in the recessed area.

Stamps: Shine Bright
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Cherry Cobbler
Stampin' Blends:  Cherry Cobbler Light, Old Olive Light, Mango Melody Light
Accessories:  Classic Label Punch, Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going be a busy day.  I need to get all of my cardstock cut for Monday night before 1:00 PM so I can stuff envelopes while I watch the Cubs . . . although they need to play better than they have been playing.  I also need to get a couple of breakfast casseroles made and my bags packed.  I am off this weekend to a stampin' retreat.  We will spend the weekend crafting, painting, and visiting!!

Spooktacular Bash

Today is the third Thursday of the month so it is Technique/Stamp Club night again.  Since I am trying new folds I thought I would share one with them. This fold is the Double Flap Fun Fold.

When closed it looks just like a normal card front would look.  I have used the Ornate Dies that are listed with the Halloween sets.  Now don't think that they are just limited to Halloween!!  They are really very cool and would be great for any card making!!

The first flap opens to the right.  And gives a chance to show off some more of the great designer series papers.

And then your greeting is inside as you open the second flap to the left.  This card is very easy to make but looks way more intricate!!!

Stamps:  Spooktacular Bash
Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Designer Series Paper:  Monster Bash
Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Ornate Frames Dies

Yesterday was a success . . . I got my new phone but it took way longer than I had anticipated.  I guess I should know by now that it will take a while to get everything switched over.  The good news is that everything transferred over to the new phone with no problems what-so-ever. That has not always been the case.  The even better news is that I have this flashy red new phone that works like a dream!!!!  And I have even gotten use to a lot of the new features right away.  I thought that would take me a little longer but I guess you CAN teach old dogs new tricks if the incentive is great enough!!

Over the Moon

Living in Iowa, how can you not love this cow stamp set??  He is just so cute!!! This is another one of the cards I received as a swap in Illinois.  Since I have not really had anytime to stamp for myself, I love having swap cards to share. There was not a name on this card, so do not know who to give credit to.

Even though the color combination is red and gold or yellow  . . . and not black and gold, I still love this card.

I have been on the lookout for fun fold cards lately and this one definitely fits the bill!!!  There is not a lot of room for a personal message, but that is all right because sometimes you just need a little room to let someone know you are thinking of them.

Stamps: Over the Moon
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Regals 6" X 6"
Ink: Memento Black, Assorted Stampin' Blends
Accessories:  Layering Squares Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies,
Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder, Medium Daisy Punch,
1/2" Circle Punch, Whisper White Baker's Twine,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a fairly productive day in the stamp room.  I got everything figured out for upcoming events, now I just need to get everything cut and gathered.  I am off here soon to run some errands in Iowa City and to get a new phone.  The battery in mine does not seem to want to hold a charge any longer so I guess it is time.  Hopefully I can learn all the new technology that will be available  . . . but it will probably be way more than I need!!!

Snowman Season

I love a good snowman (at least I do on cards) and this set has just that . . . along with a punch.  This is another card that I received as a swap when I went to Illinois.

The Let It Snow Embellishment Kit is pretty cool as well!!

This is also a fun fold card.  I am going to have to try one of these!!

Stamps: Snowman Season
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Let It Snow
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Triple Banner Punch, Let It Snow Embellishment Kit

I have a ton of things I need to get ready for in the next few days so today better have a ton of energy coming my way.  I am hoping to get some things ready for an event I am attending this weekend as well as start to get ready for Thursday night's Stamp Club.  If things really go my way I can get a head start on next week's Make-It-Monday.  We shall see!!

Gorgeous Grunge (A Favorite Retired Set)

What has been keeping me busy these last few days besides a garage sale, football, and baseball you might ask??

Name banners for the new teachers at Hanna's school and some custom made generic cards for any occasion . . . that's what!!

One of Hanna's all time favorite sets is the retired Gorgeous Grunge so of course that is what I used.  Gorgeous Grape and Basic Gray are the perfect colors to use to coordinate with their school colors.  Three name banners and 55 cards later and I am done.  They will go in the mail today!!

Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge (Retired)
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink: Gorgeous Grunge, Smoky Slate, Highland Heather
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Large Letter Dies (Retired),
Fine Tip Glue Pen, Tear & Tape

Today is an errand running, cleaning up kind of day.  As soon as I am done posting this I am off to Iowa City to get some things we need and then when I get home I am going to finish up cleaning up from the garage sale and other projects.  And of course, there is always baseball tonight!!

Merry Moose

Punches, punches, punches . . . the Holiday Catalog has several punches that are awesome, and this Moose Punch is one of them!!

This is one of the cards we made at Susie's as a shoebox swap back in August. I am not sure who brought it, but I sure do like it.  The Crumb Cake ribbon is perfect here, and it ties so easily!!  At first I wasn't sure that it was even in the catalog . . . it took me a while to find it in the Come to Gather Ribbon Combo pack.

Stamps:  Merry Moose
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow
Accessories:  Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack,
Shimmery Crystal Effects

What a day for my sports teams . . . the Cubs played great and won by a ton and the Hawks eeked out a victory after many rain delays!!!  Good thing I had all of Hanna's cards to finish putting together so that my hands were occupied for all of those hours!!

Today I need to get everything cleaned up from my garage sale and figure out what I want to do next!!!  Choices, choices, choices!!

Gather Together

Cajun Craze is such as awesome color but I only seen to use it for fall cards!! This card, which I received as a swap in Illinois, is the perfect card to use Cajun Craze!!!

I love the combination of the Cajun Craze and the Copper Foil!!  I am thinking I may need too stock up on Copper Foil because I have seen so many fall and Christmas cards that use it this year!!

Stamps: Gather Together
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Copper Foil
Designer Series Paper: Come To Gather
Ink: Cajun Craze, Merry Merlot
Accessories:  Gathered Leaves Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies,
Triple Banner Punch, Clear Wink of Stella,
Come To Gather Ribbon Combo,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy day, starting early when the gal that cleans my house came and ending with the garage sale.  I am not sure I sat down at all until about 5:30 PM.  Today the garage sale is still going strong and I am going to be a football and basketball junkie!!  Can't wait for the Hawkeye game this afternoon!!

GO HAWKS!!

Most Wonderful Time

The product medley suite, Most Wonderful Time, has some awesome images and designer series paper.  It also contains the die cuts you see here of the deer.

This is one of the cards we made when we were visiting in New York this summer.  My actual kit that I pre-ordered is still in the box.  My goal after today is to get it out and make some samples.

Supplies:  Most Wonderful Time of the Year Product medley Kit

I am set up and ready to go for my second garage sale of the year!! There are tons of great stamp sets here for great prices!!!!

A Little Lace

A few weeks ago when I was stamping with Susie she made a label card like this with blacks and yellows.  I changed the colors for Technique/Stamp Club and made it into a fall card.

The hardest part of this card for me was to find the labels!!!  Susie said she found them at Dollar General but every Dollar General I went to was out of them.  I found several label sheets that were different dimensions, but I really liked the dimensions of these labels and the fact that there were four on a sheet.

Stamps: A Little Lace, Gather Together
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends:  Cajun Craze Craze Combo Pack, Mango Melody Combo Pack
Accessories: Gold Faceted Gems, Classic Label Punch,
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today will be a repeat of the last several days . . . stamping and baseball . . . but at least today the Cubs play in the middle of the afternoon!!  These last three late nights of baseball have almost been too much . . . in fact I did not even stay up till the end of the game last night.  Hopefully by the end of the game today I can be done with Hanna's cards and can start to set up for my garage sale tomorrow and Saturday!!
