Little Ladybug

This Little Ladybug set is one of my favorite sets in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  And it is made even better because there are framelits that do coordinate with it!!  And today is the last day that you can earn this set!!

This is another one of the cards that I made when I attended Susie's monthly stamp day at the beginning of the month!!

It is just so cute and is a fun fold . . . a double Z fold card.  Who wouldn't love to get this cute card in the mail!!!

Stamps: Little Ladybug, Forever Lovely
Cardstock: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Daffodil delight Combo Pack, Real Red Dark, Basic Black Light
Accessories:  Ladybug Dies, Layering Squares Dies,
Real Red 3/8" Double Stitched Satin Ribbon,

Wow . . . what a difference a change of scenery and a little sunshine and warmer weather can do for the soul!!!  I went to Kalona yesterday to deliver a couple of stamping things, drop off our taxes, and stretch my eyeballs a little bit.  When I got home I just sat on the front porch, in my glider, reading a book, but mostly just watching the outside world!!  Today my choice of an outside sitting spot is going to be right outside my back door on a cement slab with the sun shining on me!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Well Dressed

There are only 2 days left of  2020 Sale-a-Bration!!!  How can that possibly be!!  Well Dressed is one of the stamp sets that I was sure I ordered for myself, but alas I did not.  I am very sad.  Don't be like me and be sad . . . if there is a Sale-a-Bration set you want let me know and we will get it ordered for you.

This is one of the cards that I made at Susie's monthly class at the beginning of March . . . seems like a year ago now but it was just four weeks ago.  Perfect for those men in your life who still need birthday cards!!

Designer Series Paper:  Country Club

Well my schedule should be stamping and watching baseball, but not this year!!!  Stamping is still on the agenda at least.  I am also going to run our taxes over to Kalona and drop them in the drop off box.  It will be the first time I have left town in over two weeks . . . I should be keeping a diary . . . that does not happen very often at all!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

I finished the last four cards of my All Occasions cards so decided that I just had to share them today. I really love the way these turned out!!

Hard to believe that this is the end of the our second week of sheltering at home. John's routine  has not changed much at all . . . he is perfectly content to not leave the house.  I on the other hand am not so patiently waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so I can at least be outside some.  I have gotten a lot of stamping done this week and have also read several good book.  There are positives in any situation!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Flowering Foil Designer Series Paper

I absolutely love the Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper that is available as a Sale-a-Bration item until March 31st.  I decided that I wanted to make a set of All Occasions cards using the flowers.

If you saw my video yesterday, you know I started out by coloring groups of flowers with my Stampin' Blends and Sponge Daubers with ink.

Once I got them all colored, it was time for some fussy cutting.  They were really easier to cut out than I had anticipated.

I ended up with thirteen groups of flowers.  I got a set of eight cards done yesterday and still have five groupings of flowers to use in other cards.

I stuck to the same color scheme to make it a little easier.  I am pretty pleased with how they all turned out!!

Stamps: Peaceful Moments
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Flowering Foils
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral
Stampin' Blends:  Calypso Coral Dark, Old Olive Light
Accessories: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies,
OrnateFrames Dies, Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder,
1 1/2" Circle Punch, Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Binding,
Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . I wanted to go for a walk yesterday but by the time I got done messing around trying to do a video and finishing these cards it was time for a rest!!  And it was still a little chilly with the wind blowing for me to be comfortable walking outside.

I have several other cards I want to try and make today with this designer series paper.  Stay tuned to see what I come up with!!

Seriously The Best

While  surfing yesterday, I came across this card on a blog I follow, Bonnie Stamped.  It so expresses the way I feel, that I just had to make one of them.

I surely hope that the Seriously the Best stamp set carries over because I love the large font sentiments.  Sometimes, you just need the larger sentiment for your card.

Stamps: Thoughtful Blooms, Seriously The Best
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy
Stampin' Blends:  Night of Navy Dark
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Small Bloom Punch,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Granny Apple Green 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon,

I am hoping that the weather really does get as warm as they are predicting because I surely would like to go for a walk today.  Today may be the only chance for a while if the rain comes through as predicted.  After being in my stamp room for a while yesterday I am anxious to spend more time there today.  I will have several new cards and ideas to show you in the coming days.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Bonanza Buddies

Another day . .  . another swap . . . this time one from my friend, Christy. This is the swap she took to Illinois with us when we went at the beginning of the month.  My . . . how a lot has changed since we got home!!

I do love this little toucan in the set!!  He always reminds me of Toucan Sam from the old Fruit Loops commercial. I love Fruit Loops . . . it was about the only thing I craved when I was pregnant with Hanna.

Timeless Tropical

Another day . . . another swap!!!  This one with the stamp set, Timeless Tropics.  I haven't really used this set much at all.  I mainly got it in case I would happen to want to scrapbook my trip to Hawaii if that still happens.

I will say I absolutely love the sentiments in this set and the font that was used for them.  I know I say that about a lot of sets, but it is oh so true!!

Rooted In Nature

Wow . . . what a difference a week makes!!!  Who would have thought last Sunday that we would be where we are today!!  This is a card I made last fall for a totally different situation, but I certainly thought it was fitting for today!!

I want you to know even though we aren't stamping together, I am thinking of you!!  I particularly like the images of the anchor in this card.  I googled anchor and this is what came up.  The anchor is a popular symbol because it was not only part of the ship, but because, just like Christians, sailors liked the connection this symbol had to stability and strength. Putting down an anchor also represented the safe end of a long journey.  Christians adopted the anchor as a symbol of hope in future existence because the anchor was regarded in ancient times as a symbol of safety.

Stamps: Rooted in Nature, Sailing Home
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Smooth Sailing Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I am working on trying to figure out how I could do a phone camera set up so I can try to do a Facebook Live.  I knew I should not have gotten rid of my selfie stick!!  It would have been perfect for what I want!!

I am slo planning on doing a little more stamping this afternoon.  I was in my room for a little while yesterday and it did feel good to be back there!!  A little sense of normalcy!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Beautiful Bouquet

Another day at home . . . another card swap!!!  This one is so perfect . . . it could be used for any occasion with a change out of the sentiment!!

I absolutely love this Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper!!!  So pretty and versatile!!

Stamps: Beautiful Bouquet
Cardstock: Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose, Garden Green, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Pressed Petals
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots

I do have to say that not having events to plan for has seriously impacted my motivation and my time in my stamp room.  Sara Douglass from Stampin' Up! is hosting a live Craft Party with her family this afternoon on Facebook.  I am going to join in and then see if I can figure out how to do something similar!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Dandelion Wishes

Dandelion Wishes has always been a favorite stamp set of mine so of course I was happy to get this particular swap when I went to Illinois.

I love the sparkle on the dandelion seed puffs . . . makes them seem like they could just blow away!!

Stamps: Dandelion Wishes
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Basic Black, Balmy Blue
Ink: Memento Black, Balmy Blue, Versamark
Accessories: 2" Circle Punch, Starburst Punch, Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter,
Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Usually every night, John will ask me . . . "So, what do you have going on tomorrow?"  For some reason this week he has quit asking me that!!!  My March Paper Pumpkin kit came in the mail a couple of days ago so I think putting those together is on the agenda today!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Peaceful Moments

Another swap from my retreat in Illinois . . . this time using painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments .

This cards is super simple, easily duplicatable so you can have several on hand for when you need them.  Sympathy cards are something I have to have on hand because I can not sit down and stamp one when I need it.

Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Granny Apple Green,
Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate
Stampin' Blends:  PoppyParade Combo Pack, Granny Apple Green Dark
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies,  Basic Rhinestone Jewels

I did not make it to my stamping room yesterday, but I did get all of my bookwork caught up!!  And I got a lot of supplies put away from previous projects, so there is hope I will make it there today!!

So Sentimental

I think I mentioned the other day that I was part of a 65 card swap when we went to the stamping retreat a couple of weeks ago.  This is one of the cards that I got back in return.

I have a set of the Peaceful Poppy Elements, but to be honest I have not even looked at them.  I guess that is going to have to change.

Stamps: So Sentimental
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Peaceful Poppies
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Peaceful Poppies Elements,
Whisper White 1/4" Crinkles Seam Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . while I did not make it into my stamp room yesterday to stamp I did get lots of "happy mail" ready to go. One of the things I decided to do during this time of "social distancing" or as I saw the other day "compassionate spacing" is to be deliberate about sending out more cards . . . especially to people that I know in care facilities that have even more less contact with the outside world than they normally do.

My goal today is to get all of my bookwork caught up that I have let go since the middle of February, because I was so busy.  (Be carefuel what you wish for!!)  Once I get all of that done I am going to start to work on an order of 40 cards that I need to get done.  I was wishing for time to work on them and now I have that!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Easter Promise

Today was suppose to be easter card stamping day with one of my friends. This is the card she was going to make.

We decided with everything going on that instead of Make and Takes, today would be a Take and Make.  That way she still gets to make her Easter cards to send to her friends.

Stamps: Easter Promise
Cardstock: : So Saffron, Soft Sea Foam, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  So Saffron Combo Pack,
Mango Melody Light, Soft Sea Foam Dark
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder,
Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon,
Basic Jewel Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots

You know how you wish for things sometimes . . . like unlimited, uninterrupted time in your craft room . . . and then when you get it, you don't want to do that??  Yup . . . that is me right now . . . no desire to go play with the new things I have waiting for me.  Hopefully this will pass soon. I know once I get there I will keep on working but right now my recliner and a book sound mighty inviting.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Well, we made it to Hanna and Jake's yesterday but it may be our last outing for a while.  I am going to the grocery store as soon as I am done posting this and stocking up on essentials . . . but not toilet paper!!

I made the decision this morning to cancel all in person stamping events until at least March 30.  We will see what happens after that.  In the meantime . . . Happy Crafting!!

A Big Thank You

I love when Hanna asks me if I can make her some cards.  This was yesterday's project . . . 30 of these with red, yellow and blue card bases.

Now . . . where did you get that flowering stamp you might ask.  It is actually something she has watercolored that has the motif they are using on all of their adoption things.  I just printed it off on my computer and stamped directly on that.  It actually matched our real Red, Pacific Point, and Crushed Curry cardstock perfectly.

Stamps: A Big Thank You
Cardstock:  Pacific Point, Whisper White:
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Follow Your Art Washi Tape

I wanted to get them all done yesterday because John and I are going to visit Jake and Hanna today and take them several things, these cards included. The weather is good and their schedules are so crazy and today worked for both of us so away we go!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Painted Poppies

Triple Time stamping is another one of the techniques that we did at Technique/Stamp Club a while back.  It looks much more complicated than it really is!!!

I normally like to use the technique with a more solid image, but wanted to try it with an outline image.  I think I much prefer the solid image as it shows up better.

Stamps: Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  Poppy Parade 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots

John's appointment yesterday was as positive as mine had been in the days before.  It took a while, but again the outcome was worth it!!  We got a bite to eat before heading home.  I worked a little bit on making some cards for Hanna and finishing my book.  Today looks to be more of the same, although I don't like the white stuff I see falling from the sky.  I am also hoping to get my closet sorted and some bags of stuff taken to Hanna tomorrow for a garage sale they are having.  I think I have plenty to keep me inside and busy today, even though there is no basketball watch on TV.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Tags in Bloom.  I particularly love this stamp in the set!!  It is so easy to line up if you want flowers at the top and bottom or it looks great with just the top flowers.

This is ons of the cards I took as a shoe box swap when I went to my monthly swap group on Tuesday.  With a change out of sentiment it would work for about any occasion!!

Music From the Heart

Wednesday night was Paper Pals night which is my monthly shoebox swap group.  We are all relatively close in age, with one younger member.  I knew all of us would and could appreciate records!!

As we were making this card we were reminiscing about going to the store with our allowance to buy 45's and playing them over and over and over!!

Pumpkin Pie, Real red, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Whisper White

2020 is the year of perfect vision and my eye appointment yesterday did not disappoint . . . believe it or not my eyes are getting better as I get older . . . weird, I know, but then I usually do not follow a typical pattern.

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for another day of appointments . . . hopefully I will be home by early afternoon and can do some stamping, but realistically I will probably watch basketball tournaments!!

Tags In Bloom

The second release of the Sale-a-Bration catalog has some pretty neat items in it.  The Tags in Bloom set is one of those items.

Since the flowers are only at the top of this stamp I though perhaps lining them up and stamping at the bottom would be rather difficult, but it was really quite simple.  The middle shape makes it very easy to line up!!
