Celebration Tidings

Happy Halloween!!!  A while back I attended a virtual stamp gathering called Holiday Hoopla that was put on by the Stampin' Sisters . . . Peggy and Tina. This is one of the cards that was a make and take at that event.  This particular bundle was not on my radar, nor did I intend to buy it until I knew it was going to be one of the bundles they featured in their Make and Takes. Boy . . . am I glad I got it!  I have used it a ton since then!!  I particularly like the dies that come in the bundle.

This was also one of the cards that was in the Halloween Cards in the Mail. Quick and easy sometimes is the best!!

Today looks to be another beautiful fall day.  That is awesome as we are getting together for our fall family birthday and anniversary celebrations. Hanna and Jake arrived last night.  Since the weather is so nice we are going to get take out food for lunch and sit in Julie and Jason's backyard and enjoy the visit.  We may make a trip to Amana after lunch or we may just sit and visit . . . either one would be awesome!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Buffalo Check

Back when I could eat an apple whole without cutting it into pieces, caramel apples were my favorite!!  I was thrilled when I got this card from my stampin' friend, Linda.  I love how she made the caramel with some Soft Suede paper and some glue.

The Cheer All Year is a retired stamp set but it is the perfect sentiment for this card.  Layered onto a piece of cardstock that has been stamped with the Buffalo Check really made the caramel apple stand out!!

Wow . . . yesterday I made great headway making some gift card holders for my craft show.  Gift are are always popular, but I have a feeling they are going to be even more so this year.  I cranked out 30 of one style yesterday and am hoping that I can crank out a couple more styles today!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Celebrate Sunflowers

When I first saw this card on Creativeleeyours I immediately thought of a thank you card . . . because someone could reach a whole new level on wonderful in something they have done for you.  When people were making it at Make-It-Monday, most of them said . . . "Hmmm . . . not really sure what occasion I would send this for." What do you think?

And probably for one of the first times since using the Stampin' Blends, I feel like I maybe got the shading to look fairly realistic.  Just goes to show how easy this sunflower is to color . . . if I can make it look fairly realistic, anyone can!!

Stamps: Celebrate Sunflowers
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Gold Foil
Ink: Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends:  Daffodil Delight Combo Pack, Crumb Cake Combo Pack
Accessories:  Hippo & Friends Dies,

Yesterday was a fairly productive creative day, even though I made an impromptu trip to Washington to get some groceries and other things.  I am hoping today is just as productive!!

Celebration Tidings

Where in the world has the month of October gone????  Even in this strange year, overall time seems to be passing very quickly, although some days seem very long!!  Weird how that happens!!  I have a couple of Halloween cards left to share so I guess I had better be doing that . . . .

This was one of the Cards in the Halloween cards in the Mail.  Again, the paper and this time ribbon do the majority of the work for you!!  I will say again . . . I had no idea that people sent out that many Halloween cards.  I will have to remember that for next year!!

Stamps: Celebration Tidings
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Magic In This Night
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Iridescent Pearls,
1 1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

True to my word yesterday, I did nothing but go to my appointments and rest the remainder of the day.  I thought a little about doing some bookwork, but ended up doing nothing else but reading some emails and then watching the last game of the World Series.  Today I really do need to get busy and get some things done for my craft show!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Best Year

The Evergreen 3D Embossing Folder is one I surely hope they carry over after the holiday season!!  I have used it several times and when I saw this card on a site I follow . . . Creativeleeyours . . . I knew I wanted to use it for a class card.

This card does have quite a few layers on it and a lot of dimensionals, but they are oh so worth it!!  It is even prettier in person than it is in the photo. The photo just does not do it justice.

Stamps: Best Year
Cardstock: Cinnamon Cider, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla (Inside)
Designer Series Paper: Gilded Autumn, Brushed Metallic
Accessories:Stitched Rectangle Dies, Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder,
Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be a day of rest with a couple of appointments thrown in.  I may try to get caught up on my bookwork, but that can be done from the comfort of my recliner!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Forever Fern

If you haven't tried any of the elements of the Forever Gold Laser-Cuts Specialty Paper you should!!  I had several packs and had resisted using them, but when I saw a card on Pinterest that was like this, I knew I had to break into them.

You get three sheets of greenery accents that have many shapes similar to this one and three sheets of 6 different card fronts . . . so there are many pieces to make a quick simple  yet elegant card.  This is one of the cards that everyone who is stamping with me this week will get to make.

Stamps:   Forever Fern
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Forever Gold Laser-Cuts Specialty Paper
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder,
Gilded Gems,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Everything is again cut and sitting by the door waiting to be loaded into the car for Make-It-Monday tonight.  It is going to wait a little bit however for it to warm up!!  I do have some errands to run before heading to Riverside this afternoon, so hopefully it will be a little warmer by noon.

Little Treats

A while back at one of the Make-It-Mondays we made this sparkly Halloween card.  I realized today I had not shared it and if I was going to I better do it this week.

I do know this is a card that I would not be sending to either of my daughters as they have an aversion to spiders, but I really do kind of like this sparkly guy.

Stamps: Little Treats
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Gorgeous Grape, Black Glitter, Whisper White
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:    Layering Circles Dies, Little Treat Box Dies,
Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder, Iridescent Pearls,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday's Peek Into Santa's Workshop went off without a hitch.  And believe it or not I did not forget anything other than some small pieces of brown cardstock.  I believe everyone had a good time and went home with 30 beautiful Christmas cards.

Tag Buffet

It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards!!  Today is the day many stampers are starting on theirs, as it is my Peek Into Santa's Workshop Christmas card class.

This is one of the cards that everyone will be making multiples of.  The Evergreen 3D Embossing Folder makes the perfect background for these shimmer painted ornaments.  The gold embossing compliments the gold foil layer as well.

Stamps: Tag Buffet
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Gold Foil, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder,
Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Champagne Shimmer Paint,
Wink of Stella, Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon,
Banners Pick a Punch, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

The soups are done and the dessert is made.  Everything else is ready and sitting by the back door waiting to be loaded into the car.  I just hope I have remembered everything!!  I guess if I have forgotten anything, we can do without it!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Beautiful Autumn

I can tell when I love all of the patterns in a designer series paper pack when I use them all equally.  I can honestly say there are not any of the papers in this pack that I don't like.

I saw this card on Pinterest and knew it would be great for a Cards in the Mail card.  I must say, I had never thought about using one of the lighter colors of designer series paper as the base for writing, but I really kind of like it!!

Stamps: Beautiful Autumn
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Gilded Autumn
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies,
Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack,
Gilded Gems,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Every piece of cardstock is cut and the supplies are all gathered.  All that is left to do today is to make my soups and dessert for the Peek Into Santa's Workshop tomorrow.  It certainly does make a difference when I don't have to worry about cleaning my house and setting up tables and everything here at the house.  Of course the flip side of that is, if I forget something we have to figure out how to do without it and transporting everything to Riverside.  But I think it is worth it!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happiest of Birthdays

Have I said how much I love when the designer series paper does all the work for you when making a card??  Well, if not, then let me tell you . . . they are almost my favorite kind of card!!

The Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper has such fun abstract designs in a variety of colors.  So much fun!!  This is another one of the cards that is in this week's Cards in the Mail.

Stamps: Happiest of Birthdays
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Artistry Blooms
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies,

Not quite sure how I managed this, but everything is cut and all envelopes are stuffed and I still have two days to go before Peek Into Santa's Workshop.  I just have a little more die cutting to do today and it will all be done!!

Prize Peony

Today's card is one I saw on a site I look at sometimes . . . The Stamp Shach. Now, normally I don't like to mix Very Vanilla with Whisper White, but when I saw this card I fell in love with it.

Since all it had was a sentiment, I knew it would be perfect for a Cards in The Mail card.  The ferny piece is the backside of a cutout from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper.  I love the way it looks both white and vanilla depending on how the light shines on it.

Stamps: Prized Peony
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Forever Gold Laser Cut
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Flowers For Every Season Ribbon,
Gilded Gems, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today will be more cardstock cutting and die cutting . . . hopefully I get most of it done today so I can finish stuffing my envelopes during the World Series game tonight.  I am halfway there so it should doable!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Peaceful Moments

Playing With Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack is another one of the papers that is on sale this month.  It is perfect paper for fun birthday cards.

This is also another one of the cards that is in this week's Cards in the Mail. Even though I have had it since the beginning of June I had not used the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack yet.  Paired together with the paper and the Playing With Patterns Resin Dots, it makes a cheerful card anyone would love to receive.

Designer Series Paper: Playing With Patterns
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies,

Cardstock cutting and envelope stuffing is in my future for today and probably tomorrow as well.  I got quite a bit done yesterday as well as running some errands so I am actually ahead of myself on my to do list.  Hopefully I can fit in some walking today as well.

So Sentimental

Are you ready to see another of the designer series paper packs that is on sale this month?  Today I am using the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. Many of the sheets have poinsettias on them, but this sheet just has the berries.  It looks festive without screaming Christmas so is good to use all year round.

This is one of the cards that is in the Cards in the Mail packet that is new this week.  I have so many friends I could send this card to, I may just have to make many many of them.

Stamps: So Sentimental
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Real Red, Gold Foil, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Poinsettia Place
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Poinsettia Dies,

I got a lot done on my to do list yesterday . . . not as much as there is to do, but I made a good dent in it.  As soon as I am done posting this I am off to pick up groceries and a new crock pot for my Peek Into Santa's Workshop Day that is this Saturday.  After that it will be back to the stamping room to see what else I can get accomplished.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Celebration Tidings

I really did not realize how many people sent Halloween cards.  This has been one of my most popular Cards in the Mail classes!!  Who knew??  Certainly not me!!

The Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper has some really cool patterns in it.  And they are very subtle!!  I had to look at this paper several times to realize exactly what the pattern was!

Stamps: Celebration Tidings

Designer Series Paper: Magic in This Night
Ink:Pumpkin Pie, Memento Black

I will be a cardstock cutting fool this week!!  I am hoping to get a good start today on cutting cardstock for the Peek Into Santa's Workshop that is next Saturday.  I also want to get this week's Cards in the Mail figured out and get a start on cutting for those as well!!  Hopefully I get a lot done so that I can stuff envelopes this evening while watching the last baseball game before the World Series starts on Tuesday!

Speaking of winter, I am sitting here listening to the wind whip around the house and through the trees and am so very thankful there is no snow to go along with it.  Twenty-nine years ago when we brought Hanna home from the hospital about this time we drove through a snowstorm to get home. Sure am glad there is no snow today!!

Blossoms in Bloom

I have seen this Blossoms in Bloom card used with a lot of springy colored flowers so thought I would try it with some fall colors.  I know these are not really fall flowers but wanted to try it anyway.  I think it turned out all right.

This is one of the cards that everyone made last Monday night at Make-It-Monday.  I know that everybody can always use more birthday cards!!

Festive Corners

When making this card I couldn't help but think of both of my daughters.  You see . . . they have this thing about spiders . . . they will go way out of their way to not see one . . . so this would not be the card for them.

But I am not really sure how you can think about Halloween and make Halloween cards without a spider!!  The two just seem to sort of go hand in hand!!  This is one of the cards that is in the Halloween Cards in the Mail packet.

Stamps: Festive Corners
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Pumpkin Pie, Black Glitter Paper,
Very Vanilla
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Iridescent Pearls.

Stamping and baseball happened yesterday with an impromptu supper out with some friends.   Not sure how it gets much better than that.  Today will be a repeat of yesterday, minus the supper.

Little Treats

Halloween cards are not something I typically make, but when someone asks you to design some, it is nice to have the supplies to do so.  The Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper made this pretty easy to do!!

I then decided to go ahead and make five of them and have a Halloween Cards in the Mail option.  This is one of the cards that you get in this packet.

Stamps: Little Treats
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Black Glitter Paper
Designer Series Paper:  Magic in This Night
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Memento Black
Accessories:  Detailed Band Dies, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamping, baseball, and hopefully walking on are on the agenda for today.  I started out walking quite a bit and then got busy so it is time to get back at it!!  And then it is on to craft show items!!  Stay tuned to see what I may come up with!!

Snow Wonder

I will sure be sorry to see the Snow Wonder Designer Series Paper retire at the end of December.  There are so many color combinations and patterns of snowflakes that you are sure to find one that works for the card you want to make.

This is one of the cards that everyone stamping with me this week gets to make.  It is actually a funky fold card as the Balmy Blue cardstock base is folded back and then the designer series paper finishes the front of the card.

Stamps: Snow Wonder
Cardstock: Balmy Blue, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Snowflake Splendor
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Balmy Blue Combo Pack, Real Red Combo Pack,

Appointments, stamping, and baseball . . . sometimes I think that is all I do!! But that is what is on the agenda again for today, so I guess it is what it is!! At least I have time to do the things I enjoy!!

Love of Leaves

For s stamp set and die bundle that I did not think I needed, I sure have used this one A LOT!!  This card comes from a site I follow . . . Stamp With Bonnie.  I love her use of colors!!

This is one of the cards that everyone will be making tonight at Make-It-Monday.  I hope they like it as much as I do.  Notice the detail on the die cut leaves . . . this is so easy to do with the Stitched Leaves Dies and gives the leaves added dimension.

Stamps: Love of Leaves, Happiest of Birthdays

Accessories:  Stitched Leaves Dies, 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots,

Yesterday we drove for miles and miles and for hours and only saw a few patches of colorful trees.  I have a feeling we did not go far enough north, but it was great to stretch our eyeballs, as John says.  When we got home I cut cardstock and got things ready for tonight and ended the night watching baseball.

Lots To Celebrate

There are many things to celebrate and the fall colors are one of them right now.  Even in the midst of all the weird stuff going on, fall colors remain one of the things that has stayed the same!!  Trying to use my designer series paper instead of hoarding it is another thing that has stayed the same.  And it is made even easier since it is on sale this month!!

This is one of the cards everyone stamping with me this week will get to make.  I chose to make it a thinking of you card, but it would really work for many other occasions and this stamp set has the sentiments to help you do that.

Beautiful Autumn

A couple of weekends ago I got together with some stampin' friends and we spent the whole weekend making cards and projects.  This is one of the cards that we made that weekend.  It was a shoebox swap that my friend, Susie provided.

I knew it would be perfect for a Cards in the Mail card.  It is in this week's packet.  I love the Cinnamon Cider color and need to get into the habit of using it more!!  And as I have said before the Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper is to die for!!

Cardstock cutting is on the agenda for today!!  I am hoping to get everything ready for Monday night so I can go back to my craft show projects!!

So Sentimental

Last night was technique/Stamp Club and one of the techniques we worked with is called Smack Down, or so I have been told.  It can make some really pretty backgrounds for your cards.

The trick is to find the right stamp to use.  I favor those that are medium size and are also an outline stamp.  I have seen is done with a solid image stamp, but like I said . . . I prefer the outline.

Stamps: So Sentimental, Painted Poppies
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Ink: Poppy Parade, Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Poppy Parade Combo Pack
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Silver 3/8" Metallic Ribbon,
 Stampin' Diensionals

As soon as I am done posting this, I am off for an early morning hair appointment and then I have nothing scheduled for the rest of today . . . or the weekend for that matter!!  I need to figure out what we are doing Monday night at Make-It-Monday and get the cardstock cut, but that is about it!!

Beautiful Autumn

I was thrilled to see the pine cone and foliage pattern in the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper package.  It says winter to me, not necessarily Christmas.

Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper is one of the packages of paper that is on sale this month.  It would be a great time stock up on it!!  This is also one of the cards that everyone will be making that receives a Cards in the Mail packet this week.
