Happy Thoughts

Can't you just see a men's knit polo shirt in this print??  I think it is perfect, both for a shirt and for a birthday card!!

I have been trying to include different fold ideas for both In-Person stamping and in the Cards in the Mail packets.  As you can see, this card opens first to the right and then to the left like a regular card.

With all of the patterns of paper in this Well Suited Designer Series Paper package, just think of all of the cards you could make.  The card itself uses relatively small pieces of paper so you can get a lot of cards out of one piece.

Ink: Poppy Parade

Yesterday was an awesome day medically speaking.  I have very dense bones, no unusual lumps or bumps, and got an excellent report from the oncologist.  One more six-month checkup and then I can go to just once a year!!

Today is another big day as my new stove and refrigerator are being delivered this afternoon!!  I am sure they will take a little getting used to, but I'm pretty excited about them!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Handsomely Suited

This week will be devoted to masculine cards since that is what is in this week's Cards In The Mail.  The Well Suited Designer Series Paper is absolutely perfect for them!!

This is a great card for using up designer series paper scraps you might have laying around.  While I have used three patterns from the same pack of paper, you could use any three that coordinate.  I used another piece of DSP behind the three rectangles, but you could easily substitute a white layer or even a complimentary color of cardstock.  I love the double oval punch . . . and I must not be the only one . . . I will just be excited when they become available again.  Hopefully, that will be next week.

Today is a day full of appointments so there is no crafting for me today.  I start at 9:30 and my last appointment is at 3:00 this afternoon.  It will be a long day but I am glad they could get them all scheduled in one day!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Handsomely Suited

When I saw this card on Pinterest I knew it would be perfect for one of the cards in this week's Cards In The Mail, Masculine Birthday cards.  There are several plaid patterns in this pack of paper so you could make all kinds of plaid shirts.

I know I always struggle to come up with guy cards . . . I guess I am just more of a flower card kind of person.  But I love when I do come up with some.  I know I am planning on making several of each one of the cards in the packet this week.

Stamps: Handsomely Suited
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:  Well Suited
Accessories:  Suit & Tie Dies, Tailored Tag Punch, Versamark,
White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Hold on to your hat today . . . it is going to be windy!!!  Warm, but windy!!  Stamping is on the agenda for this morning, then a physical therapy appointment this afternoon, and supper with friends.  A pretty great day, if you ask me!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Tasteful Touches

Wow . . . I guess I need to stay home and stamp some new cards . . . this is one that I made quite a while ago and never shared!!  It uses the retired stamp set, Lots to Celebrate.  I have no new cards in my digital file to share so I guess I know what I will be doing today!!

This is a rather strange color combination for me, but I took the colors directly from the designer series paper!!  It works but not sure it will become a staple!! I know that I will surely miss the Layering Circles Dies when they retire at the end of April!!  I have ALWAYS used layered circles since I began stamping!!

Stamps: Tasteful Touches, Lots to Celebrate (Retired)
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss, White
Designer Series Paper: Artistry Blooms
Ink: Melon Mambo, Mango Melody
Accessories:  Tasteful labels Dies, Layering Circles Dies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

There is absolutely nothing on my agenda for today or tomorrow . . . I should probably take advantage of that since I am going into a fairly busy couple of weeks.  One thing I do know I want to do is to get some cards stamped to share with you in the coming days!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Happy Thoughts

Do you need an all-around good sentiment stamp set?  If so, then Happy Thoughts, from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, is for you!!  The fonts are great and so are the sentiments.

I tried two different butterflies on this card . . . one cut out of just plain cardstock and this one cut out of designer series paper.  The designer series paper made all the difference in the world.  Just think of the different colors of cards you could make by die-cutting a butterfly!!

Stamps:  Happy Thoughts, Dragonfly Garden
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Bijou
Ink: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Brilliant Wings Dies, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots,
Banner Triple Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I would love a little sunshine today, but I will take no precipitation!! My plumbing issue from yesterday was really a very easy fix and the fact that I don't need a whole new kitchen sink was the best news of the day!!

Today will bring some stamping, lunching with friends, and who knows what else might come along!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Simply Succulents

Today's card comes from a site I follow, Flowerbug's Inkspot.  I truly truly love this True Love Designer Series Paper!!  There are so many beautiful flowered patterns and on the reverse side are many black and white geometric patterns.  It is awesome.

This is one of the cards that everyone made at the last Make-It-Monday.  I think they liked it almost as much as I did.   Once again the paper has done all of the work for you.

Stamps: Simply Succulents
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: True Love
Stampin' Blends:  Daffodil Delight Combo Pack, Granny Apple Green Combo Pack
Accessories:  Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots, Treasured Tags Pick a Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I was planning on stamping some this morning, but a call to the plumber for a non-emergent issue changed my plans.  They said they could come this afternoon so that led to me cleaning out the space underneath my kitchen sink.  It was more than time for it to be done, but it did take some time.  Hopefully this will be a quick fix, although I would like a new kitchen sink someday soon.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Beautiful Friendship

Will Beautiful Friendship be on the retiring list that is released later on this afternoon?  I certainly hope not!!  I love this set . . . for both the images and the sentiments.

Even though this is Terra Cotta Tile ribbon it sure seems to work with the Calypso Coral ink color.  I had to check twice to make sure I had read it right and that it was indeed Terra Cotta Tile.

Stamps: Beautiful Friendship
Cardstock: Calypsoral, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Natural Touch Specialty
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Calypso Coral, Bumblebee
Accessories:  Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack, Mini Glue Dots

There was no stamping or crafting going on yesterday.  After my early morning appointment, I ran a couple of errands and then came home and watched the women's Hawkeye basketball game.  I fixed supper and the day pretty much seemed to be over.  After walking this morning I am hoping to spend the afternoon in my craft room.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Pretty Perennials

It won't be long until we start to see beautiful flowers like these springing up everywhere, but for now, we will have to be content with them on cards.

The ladies at Make-It-Monday thought this card was kind of labor-intensive, but that the end result was worth it.  I must say I have to agree!!  And everybody can use happy cards!!

Stamps: Pretty Perennials
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Sahara Sand, Basic White
Ink: Sahara Sand, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Perennial Petals Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,

I am off early this morning for an appointment at the University and hope to spend the afternoon in my stamping room.  I have a couple of projects that I would like to work on, so hope I am able to get to them today.

Springtime Joy

Have you been loving the springtime weather we have been having lately??  Every day John and I have commented on how great the sun looks and then around 5:00 we also comment that we are so glad that it is lighter later in the evening.  It does wonders for a person.  What better way to welcome spring than with this little guy !!

I realize just now that I am looking at these photos that I forgot to put the Pearl Basic Jewels on the flowers of the headband and that I forgot the ribbon on the side.  Just imagine they are there!!  LOL

Stamps: Springtime Joy
Cardstock:   Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Hydrangea Hill
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Highland Heather Combo Pack, Old Olive Combo Pack

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for an early morning hair appointment.  I am glad that it is early because that means that I can get home in time to watch the Hawkeye basketball game.  I was thrilled that it was a late morning game since tonight is Make It Monday.

Springtime Joy

I totally overlooked this stamp set the first several times I looked through January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.  It not only has some great sentiments, but it also has some super cute Easter/Springtime images.

There is a TON of die-cutting on this card . . . but it is oh so worth it!!  I wasn't too sure about the detailed butterflies being die-cut out of the same pattern of paper as the solid butterflies, but after trying it a couple of ways, I decided it actually worked best.

Stamps: Springtime Joy
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Potted Succulents Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies,

Today will be another day filled with basketball and stamping!!  I need to get everything cut and ready for Make-It-Monday tomorrow night and a couple of other projects I would like to get finished!!  I may even go for a walk today if it warms up as much as they say it is going to.

Sweet Ice Cream

Who wouldn't love ice cream for a birthday??  I know I love ice cream a lot and so does my friend Susie.  I received this birthday card from her last month.

Notice how she used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder on the dips of ice cream.  Such a little thing but it really does add to the look of the card!!

Stamps: Sweet Ice Cream
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Snail Mail

Itty Bitty Greetings

The Flowering Vines Dies are just beautiful.  They don't really coordinate with the vines in the stamp set, but they are beautiful just on their own.  I chose to use the round design in this card, but there is also a rectangular and an oval design of the vines.

This design would be perfect for just about any card.  Since this is one of this week's Cards in the Mail, everyone will be able to tailor it to what they need based on what sentiments they have at home.

Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Basic White
Ink: Gorgeous Grape
Accessories:  Flowering Vines Dies, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder,

Oh, what a beautiful morning . . . the sun is shining, the birds are singing, there is no precipitation in the air, what could be better???

I am ready for a weekend of stamping and basketball.  Today all of the games I want to watch are on channels that I can get in my stamping room so I am a HAPPY camper!!!

Simply Succulents

Broken record here . . . once again it was the sentiments that drew me to this stamp set, not necessarily the images!!  If I had a dollar for every time I have said that I could probably buy out the catalog!!

The detail in this Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper amazes me!!  It is almost like you can reach out and touch the layers of paint on the paper.  I wasn't sure at first if I liked the white base for this card since there is vanilla in the designer series paper, but then I decided it really worked well and made the DSP pop even more.

Stamps: Simply Succulents
Cardstock: basic White Thick, Merry Merlot, Night of Navy, Basic White

So yesterday I met I meet my friend, Luetta, for lunch and then we went to finalize the new refrigerator.  And not only did I come home with a new refrigerator, but I am now getting a new stove as well, with a convection oven.  They are to be delivered at the end of the month.  I can hardly wait.

You Are Amazing

What could be better than beautiful butterfly designer series paper and an awesome sentiment??  This would be a great thank you or encouragement card for someone's accomplishment.

I seem to have quite a lot of this gingham ribbon on hand and since it will probably be retiring I decide now was the time to use it.  This is one of the cards that everyone will be receiving in this week's Cards in the Mail.

Stamps: You Are Amazing
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic Gray, Just Jade, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Bijou
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Brilliant Wings Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Flowers For Every Season, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals,
Stampin' Dimensionals,

What a great feeling to have received the second dose of the vaccine.  Hy-Vee was awesome in giving both John and I our second doses yesterday, even though one appointment was for yesterday and one was for today.  And even better, neither one of us are experiencing any major side effects . . . just a mildly sore arm.

Since that is the case, I am meeting my friend, Luetta, for lunch and then going to finalize plans for a new refrigerator!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Hydrangea Haven

My goodness!!  When someone asked me last night how I liked the Hydrangea Haven stamp set I realized that I have only used the sentiments in the set.  Such is the case with this card as well.  I do love the sentiments and fonts!!

I used one of the pieces of the Butterfly Bijou paper to die cut my butterfly.  No two cards will be exactly alike because the shading on each of the butterflies will be totally different based on where you put your die.

Stamps: Hydrangea Haven
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Bijou
Ink: Just Jade
Accessories:  Butterfly Wings Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies,
Scripty 3D Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone Jewels,
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

Today has started out with an early morning appointment and then a trip to look for a new refrigerator.  My refrigerator works just fine but is pretty old in refrigerator years, so I decided to replace it while I have a choice of what I want, instead of having to take whatever might be available when mine decides not to work!!

This afternoon I am taking John to receive his second COVID vaccine and I am scheduled to get mine in the morning!!  Doing the happy dance here!!

Vine Design

It might not look like it today, but spring is just around the corner!!  And soon we will be seeing all types of beautiful flowers in person, not just on cards like this one!!

The Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon is the ribbon that is featured with this designer series paper, but the Seaside Spray ribbon looks great as well, and since I have a ton of it, I decided to go with the softer look for this card.  It surely does bring out the blues in the paper, giving the card a whole different look.

Stamps: Vine Design
Cardstock: Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight, Basic White (Inside)
Designer Series Paper: Hydrangea Hill
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Accessories: Stitched Nested Labels Dies, 1/4" Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon,

Is it really the middle of March and we are getting snow again???  The best thing I can say about the weather is that is it really wacky this year . . . but then the last year has been pretty wacky!!  I guess today will be another good day to stay inside and read or stamp!!

Art Gallery

Who wouldn't be thrilled to receive a beautiful bouquet of flowers for their birthday.  I know I was thrilled to open my mail last month and receive this beautiful card from one of my stampin' friends, Dawn.

It would definitely take a lot of cleaning the stamp in between flower colors but the result is oh so worth it!!  Just look at the beautiful color combinations . . . kind of makes you think spring might actually be coming soon.

Stamps:  Art Gallery, Happiest of Birthdays
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, White, Vellum
Ink: Memento Black, Garden Green, Real Red,
Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Blushing Bride
Accessories:  Floral Gallery Dies, Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder,
Matte Black Dots, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Rain, rain, rain . . . . I am so glad that it is not snow, snow, snow!!  Rain makes for a great day to stay in my stamp room, although I will not be watching my Hawks play basketball today.  What will you be doing on this rainy day??

Well Written Dies

I know I have said it before, but sometimes I get so focused on the Mini Catalogs that I forget about all of the awesome products in the Annual Idea Book and Catalog.

Such is the case with the Well Written Dies.  I really should pull them out more often because they have such great words!!  As you can see there is no stamping whatsoever on this card . . . only die cuts and an embossing folder.  But what more would you really need??

Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso, White
Accessories: Well Written Dies, Sunflowers Dies,
Scripty 3D Embossing Folder,
Adhesive sheets

Yesterday was a totally lost day!!  For some reason whenever I get my eyes dilated it wipes me out for the rest of the day.  I came home from my eye appointment and slept all afternoon!!  At least I was awake and able to watch the Hawks in the evening.  I hope they have another win today.  The good news is that the game is on a channel that I get on the TV in my stamping room so I can enjoy both things at the same time.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Butterfly Bouquet

Last week was Technique/Stamp Club and I totally forgot about posting the other technique that we worked with . . . I called it Pouncing Using Blender Brushes.

As you can see, it gives a much softer look to the ink than sponges or sponge daubers.  They are my new favorite tool.  You will want to put them on your wish list.  They are so popular that they are sold out right now but will be available on March 29th again.

One of the things I love about stamping is when someone takes the same supplies and makes a totally different-looking card.  Such was the case last Thursday night.  Here is Kippen's card and her pouncing.

And here is the original card some of the others made.  Same supplies . . . totally different look.

Stamps: Butterfly Bouquet, Art Gallery
Cardstock:  Pretty Peacock, Basic Black, White
Ink: Memento Black, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape,
So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, Pacific Point
Accessories:  Floral Gallery Dies, Stamparatus, Blending Brushes,
Holiday Rhinestone Jewels,
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to a morning eye appointment.  I am hoping that my eyes get back to normal fairly quickly so that I can spend the afternoon in my stamping room.  If not . . . it will be another basketball afternoon.  It may be that anyway!!  LOL

Butterfly Bouquet

If you are a lover of butterflies, then you are definitely going to want to get this sneak peek of a new catalog product . . . the Butterfly Bouquet Collection.

How did I get my butterflies stamped and colored so perfectly??  Again the answer is . . . I did not!!  I had several of these pink butterflies leftover from other projects where I die-cut the butterflies.

You can see that the die cuts six butterflies perfectly!!  So I decided to use them on this card with the spotlighting technique . . . spotlighting just that one butterfly.

Stamps: Butterfly Bouquet, Happy Thoughts
Cardstock: White Thick, Blushing Bride, Basic Black
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Bijou
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Brilliant Wings Dies, Stamparatus,
Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,

I am off today to have lunch with some of my teacher friends.  We probably won't visit all afternoon like we used to at the Pizza Ranch, but any opportunity to get together is great!!

Vine Design

Vine Design is a stamp set I was on the fence about purchasing, but went ahead and got it since it was one of the sets that we needed for the retreat last weekend.  And I am so glad that I did!!

Although these are fallish colors, this is one of the cards that everyone made Monday night at Make-It-Monday.  I could have chosen to die cut the little flowers but wanted this card to be a little bit simpler.  I think everyone liked it just as it is!!

Stamps: Vine Design
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, So Saffron, White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral, So Saffron
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Double Oval Punch,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I took a break from actual stamping yesterday and instead got caught up on all of my bookwork and planned some new classes.  I am thinking today will be a back in the stamp room kind of day.

Friends Are Like Seashells

It was like music to my ears last night at Make-It-Monday as people gathered to make their cards.  The chatter as people greeted each other . . . many who have not seen each other for about a year.  The camaraderie that only comes from people with shared interests.  I have so missed that and hope we are on are way to being somewhat back to normal. . . or a new normal at least!!

This card was perfect for last night.  I have picked up so many stamping friends along the way . . . and again I loved to hear their chatter.

The designer series paper in this suite is pretty awesome.  One side features some type of a seashell motif and the other side has muted patterns that resemble either sand, water, or air.  The seashells are actually self-adhesive, but I wanted to give them a little dimension, so popped them up with dimensionals.

Stamps: Friends Are Like Seashells
Cardstock: Seaside Spray, Calypso Coral, White
Designer Series Paper: Sand & Sea
Ink: Sahara Sand
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies,
Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, Opal Rounds,
Seaside Shells,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be a rather low-key day.  I am planning on doing some bookwork as well as planning some new product-based classes.  If it gets warm enough outside this afternoon, I may actually sit in the sun and read for a while!!

Dragonfly Garden

Again, for a set that did not initially interest me, I sure have used Dragonfly Garden a lot!!  And I can say the same thing about the designer series paper in this suite . . . it is actually pretty awesome!!

You might be wondering how I colored my dragonfly so perfectly.  The simple answer is . . . I didn't!!  I simply punched one of the dragonflies out of the designer series paper.  I have been using this sentiment a lot lately, in hopes that this year is better in many ways than the last year has been!!

Stamps: Dragonfly Garden
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee, White
Designer Series Paper: Dandy Garden
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Accessories:  Dragonflies Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

I got home from my stamping weekend about noon yesterday, watched the Hawkeyes play basketball, and promptly went to my stamp room to finish getting things ready for Make-It-Monday tonight.  Everything is now sitting by the back door waiting to be loaded into the car.  I think this might be one of the nicest Make-It-Mondays we have had since I started doing classes in Kalona!!

Art Gallery

A couple of weeks ago I received this birthday card from my friend, Luetta.  I loved everything about it so decided that I wanted it to be a Make-It-Monday card.

I will say that the adhesive sheets are well worth the money as they make adhering the words a piece of cake!!  When I cut the DSP for this project every card will turn out looking a little different because the design on the paper is so varied!!

Stamps: Art Gallery
Cardstock: White Thick, Night of Navy
Designer Series Paper: Fine Art Floral
Accessories: Floral Gallery Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies, Versamark,
White Embossing  Powder,
Heat Tool, Adhesive Sheets,
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

Retreat weekend is coming to a close with eight projects completed.  Now mind you that some of those projects have multiple cards in them.  I think I have made two cute boxes, a piece of framed art, and 37 cards.  That is not counting the stuff I brought to stamp in the down time which was 56 more cards.  I think it was a pretty productive weekend.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!
