Catching Butterflies

I used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Catching Butterflies, to make this card to share with you. This is one of the cards I made a couple of weeks ago at a retreat in Wisconsin and was also one of the cards everyone that stamped with me last Monday night got to make.

We used the paper piecing technique so that the girl could have a patterned dress.  You just stamp her a second time on a scrap of your desired patterned paper and then adhere to the original image.  It won't be too long before we are all out catching butterflies, I hope!!

Stamps: Catching Butterflies
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Simply Marbelous, Brights 6' X 6"
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Fresh Freesia Combo Pack.
Petal Pink Combo Pack. Ivory $& Bronze Combo Pack
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Peony Dies, Iridescent Rhinestones,
Stampin' Dimensionals

There was no cardstock cutting yesterday when I got home from running errands.  I decided that it could certainly be done today so I just enjoyed watching the football games.  Neither of the teams I wanted to win won but they were certainly good football games.

I guess that leaves cardstock cutting for today and envelope stuffing for tonight during the Hawkeye basketball game!!

Special Moments

Today I have used the Special Moments and Friendly Hello stamps sets, both Sale-a-Bration items, as well as the Friendly Hello designer series paper to make this card to share with you.  It doesn't get much better than this to make a card . . . .two free stamp sets and free paper.

This card is super easy to reproduce . . . I took this as a swap to the event I attended a few weeks ago in Wisconsin.  The most time-consuming part was fussy cutting the two little flowers.  Other than that it goes together very easily.  You are going to want to be sure to get some of this paper and the stamp set before it disappears!!

Stamps: Special Moments, A Friendly Hello
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Petal Pink, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Friendly Hello
Ink: Petal Pink, Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink Combo Pack
Accessories:  Iridescent Rhinestones

After a quick trip to Iowa City to pick up some prescriptions, the rest of the day is going to be spent watching the football playoffs.  I might try to get some cardstock cut for tomorrow's Cards in the Mail before the first game starts so that I can stuff envelopes while watching.  I guess we will see how long it takes me in Iowa City!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Sweet Conversations

Today we have the last of the Valentine's Cards in the Mail.  I have again used the Sweet Conversations stamp set and the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper.

It doesn't really show up here but this Gingham Embossing Folder is pretty cool.  Depending on which side you have up and the light you have it in, it sometimes looks as if there are penciled lines running through it.  I was making a card at the event I went to a couple of weeks ago and kept looking for the embossing folder with the lines and couldn't find it anywhere.  Turns out it was this one.  You should give it a try!!

Stamps: Sweet Conversations
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Highland Heather
Accessories:  Gingham Embossing Folder, Real Red 3/8" Linen Ribbon,

Warmer weather is definitely appreciated by my knee.  I told John I don't know whether it is the warmer weather, the rest I have given it, or it just decided to quit hurting as much, but whatever it is I will take it!!!  Today I am going to attempt to spend the day stamping with friends.  We shall see how it goes!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Sweet Conversations

I have again used the Sweet Conversations stamp set and the Sweet Talk Designer Series paper to create another card to share with you and that is also in the Valentine's Cards in the Mail packet.

This one is super simple as you just take a 4" square of designer series paper, cut it vertically, and adhere it to your card base.  Add a sentiment and embellishment and you are good to go.  Any of the papers in this pack would make a super cute card.

Stamps: Sweet Conversations
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Gorgeous Grape
Accessories:  Banners Pick-a-Punch, Polished Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . it is done . . . Angie was a saint helping me (actually doing it) getting the Christmas stuff to the basement.  We also did a little furniture rearrangement.  There was no stamping going on yesterday as I promptly took a nap yesterday afternoon and got eleven hours of sleep last night.  I did not even stay awake to watch Hawkeye basketball!!  Hopefully today I can get my swaps done for tomorrow.  I guess I'd better get them done because time is running out!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Sweet Conversations

I have again used the Sweet Conversations stamp set to create this Valentine's Cards in the Mail card to share with you today.

This card has many layers and is actually a z-fold card.  You could totally change the look of the card by using any of the other equally cool designer series papers that are in the Sweet Talk pack of paper.  Once again, a sentiment and a little embellishment and you are good to go.

Stamps:  Sweet Conversations
Cardstock:  Highland Heather, Real Red, Blushing Bride, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: 3/8" Real Red Linen Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is the day . . . my knee has prohibited me from getting all of my Christmas stuff back into the basement, but Angie, the gal who cleans for me, is going to help with that chore.  I am definitely looking forward to next year when it will not be such a big deal!!!  I am sure when we are done, resting will be on the agenda for the rest of the day!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Sweet Conversations

Today I have again used the Sweet Conversations and the coordinating designer series paper to create this card to share with you and for the Valentine's Cards in the Mail.

Once again the paper does all of the work for you as is often the cause in the Cards in the Mail cards.  All you need is a sentiment and an embellishment and you are good to go!!  I love the shape of the heart in the Heart Punch Pack and also the fact that it has a coordinating layering scalloped heart shape!!

Stamps: Sweet Conversations
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Real Red
Accessories:  Gingham Embossing Folder, Heart Punch Pack,
Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is definitely going to be a stay-at-home kind of day!!  I even canceled a fun appointment because of the cold and how my knee acts in the cold.  It is much better behaved when it is nice and warm so that is what is going to happen today.  A good book and a blanket may be calling my name!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Sweet Conversations

Today I have used the stamp set, Sweet Conversations, with the coordinating designer series paper, Sweet Talk to make this card to share with you.

This layout is another one of my go-to layouts when making cards.  It is super simple and a great one for a Cards in the Mail card.  A few little embellishments and you are good to go!!

Stamps: Sweet Conversations
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Highland Heather

Today is a day to stay inside as cold as it is going to be.  Unfortunately, I have a dental appointment this afternoon and will have to go out.  Sure am glad I got that remote start on my car when I bought it.  It has been worth its weight in gold so far this winter!!  Hopefully, there will be a little stamping going on before and after the appointment!!

Flowering Tulips

Today I have used the stamp set, Flowering Tulips to create this card to share with you.  This card comes courtesy of the other Stamping Sister, Tina, at Stampin' Studio.

To achieve the variegated look of the tulip I stamped the outline full strength in Poppy Parade and then took the smaller tulip stamp and stamped off and just randomly stamped it in the outline.  I think it turned out pretty well.  I also used a Blender Pen and filled in the white spaces in the leaves by pulling the ink from the outline.

Stamps:  Flowering Tulips
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Poppy Parade, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:  Flowering Fields
Ink: Poppy Parade. Mossy Meadow, Memento Black
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Blander Pens, Matte Black Dots,

Everything that was supposed to get done yesterday actually got done.  So that leaves today to finish gathering supplies for tonight's Make-It-Monday, load the car, and put together the Valentine's In the Mail card packets.  And I watched some pretty exciting football and basketball games as well.  A good day if you ask me!!

Slim Sayings

I used the stamp set, Slim Sayings, to create this card to share with you.  It was a Cards in the Mail card a few weeks back and one I saw on a site I follow, Stamp With Peggy.  Peggy is one of the Stampin' Sisters, whose events I have been going to for a while.

This card is actually one of the cards Peggy made using the Stack and Shuffle technique we worked with at Technique Club at the beginning of the month.  You can read about that technique here.  It sure would be a quick way to get a lot of Valentine's Day cards done in a short amount of time!!

Accessories: Artistry Blooms Sequins

After an outing yesterday and lunch with my friend, Luetta, today is going to be a cardstock cutting, envelope stuffing, swap making, football watching kind of day.  At least I hope I get that much accomplished.  I have a couple of classes I want to get prepared for and a couple of swaps I need to get done for a weekend stamp day I am going to on Saturday.  The ideas are rolling around in my head . . . I just need to get them done!!

Special Moments

Today I am sharing a swap I received last week from a demonstrator named Cathy Miller.   I actually met Cathy when we were in Hawaii.  She and her husband were on the fateful waterfall walk excursion.  Not only do we have stamping in common but we also have falling on the rocks on the excursion in common.

Once again this is a super simple layout where the designer series paper does the majority of the work.  You are definitely going to want to get some of this FREE Daffodil Afternoon Sale-a-Bration paper.

Stamps:  Special Moments
Cardstock: Evening Evergreen, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Daffodil Afternoon
Ink: Evening Evergreen
Accessories:  Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder,

Today looks to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood so I think I am going to get out and run my errands.  And enjoy the sunshine and warmer temperatures.  I know I want to watch the Hawkeye basketball game this afternoon, so I will probably be crafting from my recliner during the game.

Slim Sayings

Today I have another card we made at the retreat this weekend with the Stamping Sisters, using the Slim Sayings stamp set.  If you haven't checked this one out you need to do so.  It has some great sentiment oriented both vertically and horizontally.

This is a super simple layout that I have used a lot, except I usually use the same paper top and bottom.  I love the combination of the two patterns used here.  And I do think the Brushed Butterflies might be my favorite embellishment in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog!!

Stamps: Slim Sayings
Cardstock:  Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Daffodil Afternoon
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Accessories:  Brushed Butterflies,

Boy does the sun look good coming in the bay window. . . but the furnace tells me it is still COLD, COLD, COLD!!  I was debating about going errand running today or waiting till tomorrow and I think tomorrow won!!  Twenty-five degrees sounds a whole lot better than below zero wind chills today!!

Love & Happiness

Today I have another card to share with you that I made this last weekend at the retreat hosted by The Stamping Sisters.

The Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder is so easy to use and comes out perfect every time.  I had never thought to color the Organdy Ribbon, but it surely does add a nice touch.  You could make wedding cards in whatever the wedding colors happen to be. The Blending Brushes make it super simple!!

Stamps: Love & Happiness
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Night of Navy
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder,
Blending Brushes, White 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon,

Today is going to be another take-it-easy day as I stayed up way too late reading last night.  I did get a start on switching over my stamping room to the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.  I got all of my designer series paper organized, my scraps put in one box for my friend, Jeanie, and full sheets or packs of paper put into the garage sale box.  I might attempt to do the same thing with stamps today . . . we will just have to see how it goes.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Flowering Tulips

Today I am sharing one of the swaps I received when I was at the stamping retreat in Wisconsin last week.  It was made by a stamper named Kim Vale.

This card has many steps and pieces, but I sure do think it is worth it!!!  What a great way to say thank you to a friend or colleague.

Eden's Garden

Today I have used the stamp set, Eden's Garden, and one of my favorite color combinations, purple and green, to make this card to share with you.

For this card, I did all of the stamping and then ran it through the Stamp, Cut, and Emboss Machine with an embossing folder.  I don't do this very often, but I need to do it more as I love the look of it.  The Eden's Garden is one of Stampin' Up!'s DistINKtive stamp sets so the shading is built right into the stamp.  It certainly makes a beautiful card.

Stamps: Eden's Garden
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive, Basic White
Ink:  Gorgeous Grape, Old Olie
Accessories: Scallop Contour Dies, Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder,
Garden Gems,

One thing I have yet to do this year is to clear off the Septembr-December Mini catalog products to make room for the Sale-a-Bration and January-June MOni Catalog products.  I think I may start that project today as there is nothing else on the schedule.  It is a job I hate doing but feel so much better when it is done . . . so I need to dive in and get started.

Friendly Hello

After a weekend trip to a stamping retreat, today I have used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Friendly Hello, and the coordinating paper to make this card to share with you.

This designer series paper has similar patterns in Pale Papaya and also Pool Party.  I would be hard-pressed to say which I like better.  They all make pretty cool cards and you have the added benefit of being able to snip out an accompanying flower for an accent.

Friendly Hello

Today I have used two Sale-a-Bration stamp sets to create this card to share with you. The Special Moments stamp set has many really cool sentiment stamps and is one you are going to want to add to your collection.

These soft colors remind me that spring is just around the corner despite what the weather forecast is for this weekend!!  I very lightly colored in the flowers with the Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, being sure to use a light touch so as not to smudge the outline of the flowers.

Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink Combo Pack, Fresh Freesia Combo Pack

I have had these Loose Flower Flourishes since the main catalog came out last May and have yet to use them.  They are certainly perfect to pair with this stamp set and paper.  I love my punches, like this Everyday Label Punch.  I just need to use them more often!!

Sweet Conversations

I used the Sweet Conversations Bundle to create this card to share with you today.  it is also one I took as a shoebox swap to an event I went to back in November.

I know I am probably unusual but I always liked the Sweetheart candy that is so popular around Valentine's day and received my fair share of it as a first-grade teacher.  So when I saw this set, it immediately brought back memories of all of those Valentine's Parties with the littles.  The messages on the hearts have changed over the years but not the basic candy.  There are several messages on the hearts in this set that you could choose to use.  You could also choose to stamp over the top of the solid candy heart as well.

Stamps: Sweet Conversations
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Highland Heather, So Saffron, Pool Party, Vellum
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Talk
Ink: Highland Heather, So Saffron, Pool Party
Accessories:  Scalloped Contour Dies, Sweet Hearts Dies,
Gilded Gems, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be a cardstock cutting kind of day.  I need to get ready for Make-It-Monday tomorrow night as well as finish up cutting for Cards in the Mail from last week.  If that all gets accomplished then I am going to work some more on some swaps for an event I hope to go to this weekend, weather permitting.

In The Moment

I have used the In The Moment stamps set to share this card with you that I saw during the On Stage at Home event that was back in November.  It is also the second technique we worked with at Technique/Stamp Club Thursday night.

This is a super easy technique to use with any outline stamp and dark color cardstock.  You just have to be sure that you have a pretty sharp pencil and press hard so that the color shows up.  I am thinking I will try this technique with some flower stamp sets for a swap I have coming up.  Stay tuned to see what evolves.

Stamps: In The Moment
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Night of Navy, Bumblebee, Basic White

I did some cleaning and purging yesterday and have a lot of sacks of books to take to Goodwill and am hoping I can get them there today.  I also need to pick up some prescriptions and some groceries.  I was going to go yesterday but decided that today would be warmer.  Hopefully, some stamping will happen when I get home.

Special Moments

Yesterday was the first Thursday of the month so that meant it was Technique/Stamp Club.  I jumped on the Stack & Shuffle technique train as one of the techniques we worked with.

This is a super simple way to make four cards from one piece of designer paper very easily.  Even though the layout is exactly the same on all of the cards they each look a little different depending on which pattern is where.

I started by picking two pieces of designer paper that had images on them and then picked two coordinating patterns that I thought looked nice.  From there it was a simple matter of cutting, stacking, and shuffling the papers.

The Special Moments Sale-a-Bration stamp set has some awesome sentiments in it.  You are going to want it for sure!!  All of the sentiments from these four cards are in it.

It also has a sympathy stamp that uses a nice font as well that many of the ladies used last night.

This set of four cards would make an awesome gift for someone that is hard to buy for!!

Stamps: Special Moments (Sale-a-Bration)

Today is going to be another stay at home because it is cold kind of day.  I do have a lot of projects left over from before the holidays that I would like to finish up as well as starting to dig out my stamping room after the flurry of holiday crafting.
