Handsomely Suited

Today I have used a sentiment from the Handosmely Suited stamp set and the Neutrals 6" X 6" Designer Series Paper to make this card to share with you.  Both of these products are on the Last Chance list.

If you are like me and are a paper hoarder, you have plenty of designer series paper laying around that would work perfectly for this card.  Choose two coordinating pieces and cut them both at 3" X 4.25".  Once that is done then cut them both diagonally, giving you eight pieces of paper.  Flip some of them over and you have two easy cards in seconds.

Stamps: Handsomely Suited (retiring)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Neutrals 6" X 6" (retiring)
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Label Me Fancy Punch, Label Me Lovely Punch, Fan Baker's Twine,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Woah . . . . what is with the white stuff on the ground this morning!!!!  I am surely glad this is not a therapy day and I do not have to attempt to walk on slippery surfaces.  I have enough trouble on two good legs, let alone one good leg and one bad leg!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Happiest of Birthdays

Today I am using the soon to retire stamp set, Happiest of Birthdays, to make this card to share with you.  This has been one of my go-to sentiments for as long as this set has been in the catalog.

I have paired it here with a couple of other retiring products . . . .the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper, Holiday Rhinestones, and the Tasteful Labels Dies.  I know I will find new favorite dies but I am surely going to miss these.  Things on the retiring list are going fast so if there is something you really want, you need to be sure and get it fast!!

Stamps: Happiest of Birthdays
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Just Jade (retiring), Calypso Coral, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Symmetry (retiring)
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Stitched Greenery Die, Tasteful Labels Dies (retiring),

There is nothing like a real live shower and sleeping in your own bed to make you feel like a human being again.  Both of those things were the accomplishments for yesterday.  Today brings more physical therapy and more sitting . . . .although I did do a better job yesterday of getting up more often to move around.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Inspired Thoughts

Today I used the stamp set, Inspired Thoughts, and the designer series paper, Symbols of Fortune, to make this Bottom Fold Fun Flap card to share with you.

At first glance, you might wonder where on earth are you going to write your message?  There is no blank space to write on!!  But wait . . .

Open the bottom flap to the left . . . .

and voila`  . . . there is another flap to open revealing the space for the perfect message.  This card takes a little extra measuring and cutting, but I think it is well worth the time!!!

Stamps: Inspired Thoughts
Cardstock: Mint Macaron, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Symbols of Fortune
Ink: Mint Macaron
Accessories:  Label Me Fancy Punch,

Another day . . . another goal . . . yesterday's goal was to stay awake all day and I managed that . . . today's goal is to stay awake all day and to get up every hour on the hour and move around.  Baby steps!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Pansy Patch

Today I have used the stamp set, Pansy Patch, and the coordinating, soon to retire designer series paper, Pansy Petals, to make this card to share with you.  I am on a mission to use up as much of my designer series paper that will soon retire as I can!!

I usually do not mix and match my patterns but this particular pack makes it very easy to do.  One side is a flower motif and the other is all just patterns such as this checkered one.  Makes mixing and matching a breeze.  Add a sentiment and some embellishments and your card is ready for sending.

Stamps: Pansy Patch
Cardstock: Soft Succulent, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Pansy Petals
Ink: Evening Evergreen
Accessories:  Beautiful Shapes Dies, Scalloped Contours Dies,
2021-2023 In Color Jewels, Soft  Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Another day, another week, new goals to meet!!  Here's hoping this week brings lots of healing and strengthening of muscles that have been unused for far too long!!  As I keep telling my family . . . . I have places to go, people to see, things to do!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Artfully Layered

Today I have used the stamp set, Artfully Layered, and the soon to retire Designer Series Paper, Artfully Composed to make this card to share with you.

For the last couple of days, I have been using my designer series paper a little more freely.  The Calypso Coral layer on the inside of the card is actually one of the patterns of designer series paper.  It is light enough to allow you to write your message.  I decided my paper was not doing anyone any good sitting in the paper racks so I might as well use it.

Stamps: Artfully Layered
Cardstock: Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Artfully Composed
Ink: Calypso Coral
Accessories: Faux Sea Glass Shapes, White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today will bring more of the same as the rest of this week . . . rest, ice, elevation, and basketball.  Thank goodness there is at least basketball to watch on TV!  LOL

I do apologize in advance if I have some pretty glaring errors in word usage.  When I went back to proofread this I actually laughed out loud at some of the things I had typed.  Hopefully, I caught them all.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Waves of Inspiration

Back again finally with a new card for you today . . . this one using the Waves of Inspiration stamp set that is a sneak peek into the new 2022-2023 Annual Idea Book and Catalog.

This Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper is so cool and you could totally use any of the patterns in the package for a layout like this.  I chose the darkest of the blue foils for my butterfly, but again any of them would work, it is just your personal preference.

Stamps: Waves of Inspiration
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Blue Foils
Designer Series Paper: Waves of the Ocean
Ink: Pacific Point
Accessories:  Scalloped Contour Dies, Brilliant Wings Dies,
Layering Circles Dies, Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

My intention was to only miss one or two days of posting but we all know what happens with good intentions.  Sleeping has been my very favorite activity lately . . . . in fact I can sleep most of the day and still sleep all night as well.  I guess this is all right as my body and knee need to recover.  I am not very good at accepting help . . . .I can be kind of independent . . . but as a dear friend reminded me last night . . . this is not a "do-it-yourself" kind of project!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

On the Horizon

Today I have used the stamp set, On The Horizon, and the coordinating designer series paper, New Horizons, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

This paper is so awesome . . . the card does not really need much else.  I did stamp directly onto the designer series paper.  I don't usually do that but could not really find another place for the sentiment.

Stamps: On The Horizon
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Misty Moonlight
Designer Series Paper:  New Horizons
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Accessories:  Macrame 3D Embossing Folder,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . today is the day . . . Jason is picking me up at 5:30 so we can be at the hospital in time for an 8:00 knee replacement.  I am glad I am the first case of the day so that I can get started with my recovery earlier in the day.  My intent is to keep up with my posting, but we shall see what the coming days bring.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Nothing's Better Than

Today I am using a stamp set from the Annual Idea Book and Catalog, Nothing's Better Than, to make this card to share with you.  This is a card that I made back in November when I got together with a few friends to spend the afternoon stamping.  I am not sure who brought this card for us to make, but it sure turned out cute!!

This is a great layout that would work with so many different stamp sets.  Have you ever tried designing a card from a layout sketch?  If not, this would be a great sketch for you to try.

Stamps: Nothing's Better Than
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Basic White
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Love You More Than Dies, Stitched So Sweetly Dies,
Holiday Rhinestone Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a great day seeing Hanna, Jake, and the kids.  The shopping excursion was a huge success and went well with all four of the kids.  Today brings an appointment for a COVID test since I will be staying overnight in the hospital and then making sure everything is ready at home for a recovering knee patient.  I did get the next two Cards in the Mail classes cut, assembled, and in mailing envelopes so all I need to do is address them, which I can easily do from my recliner.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Flowering Rain Boots

Today I have used the Flowering Rain boots stamp set to make this card to share with you.  This is a card that I made back in January at a stamp event I attended in Wisconsin that was hosted by the Stampin' Sisters.  It is also one that everyone made Monday night at Make-It-Monday.

How did I tie the bow, you might ask?  Well . . . you tie the bow in the middle of the ribbon and then wrap the tails around the Gingham Embossed piece of white cardstock.  I have also cut the black hexagon in half and then adhered it to the white one so the sides have a black border.

Stamps: Flowering Rain Boots
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green
Accessories: Beautiful Shapes Dies, Gingham Embossing Folder,
Brushed Brass Butterflies, Black & White Gingham Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to head to Des Moines to spend the day . . . or at least the morning . . . shopping with Hanna and the kids.  It should be a beautiful day to be out and about.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Flowering Tulips

Today I have used the stamp set, Flowering Tulips, and the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks to make this card to share with you.  I am telling you right now that Post-It-Notes will be your best friend when making this card.

I absolutely love how this card turned out!  But I do have a couple of tips for you.  The first tip I have for you once you get your mask positioned where you would want it, is to put Post-It-Notes all around the area so that you do not accidentally brush color someplace you do not want it.  Check it a couple of times, because it is so easy to miss some!!  Ask me how I know!!  LOL   The second tip is to stamp your sentiment first so that you can get the positioning of the flowers just right.  The first time I stamped this card I did not have room for my sentiment after I had perfectly brushed flowers.  Other than those two things, it is a pretty easy card to make!!

Stamps: Flowering Tulips
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Ink: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape
Accessories:  Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks,
Blending Brushes, Gorgeous Grape 3/8" Sheer Ribbon,
Mini Glue Dots

Well . . . .yesterday didn't go quite as planned for the Hawkeyes . . . but I am still a die-hard fan, no matter what.  Today is going to bring a little more basketball, a little stamping, and a little stitching.  I am hoping to get the next two weeks of Cards in the Mail, cut, assembled, and in envelopes before Monday.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Amazing Silhouettes

Well, it isn't a St. Patrick's Day card but at least it is green!!  Today I have used the Amazing Silhouettes stamp set and the coordinating dies, Amazing Thanks, to create this card to share with you.

I am lovin' the reverse image, negative space stamp sets that are in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.  It is a look that you can achieve by embossing an image in clear or white embossing powder and then sponging around, but this stamp set is much easier!!  Adhering the Amazing Thanks dies together is a little tedious, but again I love the look.  And you can not see them in the photo but there are some Holiday Rhinestone Jewels on the leafy part of the card.  This is a card that I took to an event backing January and I made 30 of them in a  pretty short amount of time.

Stamps: Amazing Silhouettes
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Heart & Home
Ink: Garden Green
Accessories:  Amazing Thanks Dies, Holiday Rhinestone Jewels,
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

Today looks to be another beautiful day . . . I am planning on being out and about some before I am grounded next week.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Waves of Inspiration

Today I have used the sneak peek stamp set, Waves of Inspiration, to make this masculine birthday card to share with you.  This is also one of the cards that everyone made Monday night at Make-It-Monday.

I love the look of the two-tone wave because after all ocean waves are not all one color.  I inked up the stamp with Coastal Cabana ink and then took a blending brush with some Night of Navy ink on it and pounced all over the wave.  I think the effect is pretty wave-like, don't you?

Stamps: Waves of Inspiration
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Basic White
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stamparatus, Blending Brushes, Rhinestone Basic Waves Jewels

As soon as I am done posting this we are out the door for John's monthly eye appointment.  I am taking something to do with me today, so that means that we will get in and out in good time.  There is not much else on the schedule other than a little reading, a little stamping, a little stitching, and some basketball tonight.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Hello Ladybug

Today I have used the stamp set, Hello Ladybug, and the retired stamp set, Friendly Hello, to make this card to share with you.  This is one I made at a demonstrator meeting back in January and was a shoebox swap brought by, my friend, Luetta.  It is also one of the cards that everyone made at Make-it-Monday last night.

I meant to use this card back in February but obviously, that did not happen.  The flowers from the Friendly Hello stamp set make the perfect background for these cute ladybugs.  And you can never go wrong with a red, black, and white card!!!

Stamps: Hello Ladybug, Friendly Hello (Retired Sale-a-Bration set)
Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Ladybug Builder Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I am trying to be as much of a social butterfly (or maybe I should be a ladybug) as I can this week since I will be staying put for a while after my knee surgery.  Today, Luetta and I are going to do a little shopping and then have a very belated birthday lunch.  We have been trying to do this since the middle of February and today looks to be a good day!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

All Squared Away

Today I have used one of the bundles that is on sale this month, the All Squared Away Bundle, to create this card to share with you.  It also uses Just Jade ink and cardstock, which will be retiring at the end of April.

This is the first time that these stamps and die have been used.  I was kind of shying away from them because I thought they might be kind of hard to line up, but let me tell you they are the easiest thing in the world to use!!!  They will be getting a lot more use in the near future.  But for right now I think this is the perfect card for St. Patrick's Day week.

Stamps: All Squared Away, Celebrating You
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Just Jade, Basic White
Ink: Just Jade
Accessories:  Floral Squares Dies, Meadow Dies, F
lowers For Every Reason Ribbon Combo Pack, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

What a day for the Hawkeye Basketball team!!  I am sure you might have heard me cheering from where ever you might be.  Usually, I try to do something else while watching a game . . . but not yesterday . . . my eyes were glued to the screen.  Let's hope they do as well during the NCAA tournament!!

In Symmetry

Today is definitely Simple Sunday . . . .today's card pairs a stamp set from the Annual Idea Book and Catalog, In Symmetry, with the beautiful Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog.

This paper is absolutely gorgeous and the Gold Foil and the Gilded Gems certainly bring out the gold flecks in the paper.  Add a simple embellishment to the sentiment piece and you are good to go.  This simple card would be great for just about any occasion!!

Stamps: In Symmetry
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Abstract Beauty
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Everyday Label Punch, Gilded Gems,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Holy Cow!!!  Can you actually believe the Hawks won the basketball game yesterday . . . especially in the fashion that they won't!!  I definitely need to get my cardstock cutting for tomorrow's Make-It-Monday done this morning so that I can watch the Big Ten Championship Game!!  It is a great day to be a Hawkeye!! But then . . . isn't it always!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Paradise Palms

Today I have used a sentiment from the Paradise Palms stamp set and the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper to make this birthday card to share with you.

If you haven't explored the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper, you should do so right away.  They are 4" X 6" in size, double-sided,  and there are 48 sheets in each package.  If you like the splashes of metallic in your paper, then this is the paper for you.

Stamps: Paradise Palms
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue, Basic White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Abstract Beauty
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder,

Blessings of Home

Today I have used the Blessing of Home stamp set and the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper to make this card to share with you. It is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

The Pale Papaya and the Smoky Slate color combination reminded me of Hanna's first apartment decorating scheme when she moved to Adel.  Once again, as with all Cards in the Mail, the designer series paper does all of the work for you.  Add a sentiment and some ribbon or embellishments and you are good to go.

Stamps: Blessings of Home
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Pale Papaya, Smoky Slate, Basic White

Ink: Smoky Slate
Accessories:  Tasteful Labels Dies, Flowers of Home Dies,

Celebrate With Flowers

Today I have used the Celebrate With Flowers stamp set and the designer series paper, Flowering Fields, to create this pretty tulip card to share with you.

I don't think I have paired Rich Razzleberry with Fresh Freesia before, but I can assure you it won't be the last time.  This layout is perfect for a Cards in the Mail card which this one is.  I debated on what to use for the embellishment but then decided that the butterflies were perfect.

Stamps: Celebrate With Flowers
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Freesia, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Flowering Fields
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry
Accessories:  Brushed Brterflies, Highland Heather 1/2" Gros Grain Ribbonass But

Waves of Inspiration

Today I have used the sneak peek stamp products, Waves of Inspiration, and the coordinating paper, Waves of the Ocean, to create this card to share with you.

This paper gives the look of hand-poured paint.  On one side of all of the pieces are blue tones and on the flip side are pastel tropical tones.  This is a must-have paper!!  And it does all of the work for you . . . all you need to do is add a sentiment!!  The stamp set will be available in the upcoming new catalog, but the paper is available only while supplies last and will not be in the new catalog.

Stamps: Waves of Inspiration
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Waves of the Ocean
Ink: Night of Navy

 Flowing Flowers

Back today after a wonderful weekend retreat, a surprise snowstorm, and all-day pre-op appointments on Monday.  Today I am sharing the card I took as a swap this weekend, using the Flowing Flowers stamp set.

The Amazing Thanks Dies are kind of a pain to use but I really do love them and the look they give.  You just need some patience when adhering them together (something I don't always have).   I also took a Blending Brush and brushed some Misty Moonlight ink onto the Organdy Ribbon to give it the blue tone.  Just think . . . you can make any color ribbon you would like with this trick!!

Stamps: Flowing Flowers
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Heart & Home
Ink: Misty Moonlight
Accessories: Layering Circles Dies, Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder,

Flowering Tulips

Once again I have used the Flowering Tulips and the coordinating designer series paper, Flowering Fields, to make this card to share with you today.

This is a pretty easy, fun z-fold card.  Straight forward two-step stamping to make the tulip.  I did try stamping off on part of the tulip and decided that in this instance I liked both of the stamps stamped full strength.  Add a little butterfly embellishment and you are good to go.

Stamps: Flowering Tulips
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Flowering Fields
Ink: Memeo Black, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories:  Brushed Brass Butterflies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

My bags are packed, I'm ready to go, I'm leaving . . . but not on a jet plane this time . . . just my vehicle as I head out to a stamping retreat in Illinois.  I have been looking forward to this retreat since registering last summer.  I am sure I will come home with all kinds of new ideas and inspiration for new cards and classes.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Daffodil Daydream

Today I have used the stamp set, Daffodil Daydream, and the retired paper, Simply Marbleous, to create this card to share with you.  It totally reminds me of both my niece because of the daffodils and a co-worker I had for many years that always said "Easter Blessings".

This was a card that everyone made at Make-It-Monday on Monday night.  Even though there was a fair amount of coloring on it, I think it was a favorite.  The Daffodil Delight and the So Saffron Stampin' Blends are perfect for blending the colors on the daffodil.

Stamps: Daffodil Daydream
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Crushed Curry, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Simply Marbleous (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Crushed Curry
Stampin' Blends:  Daffodil Delight Combo Pack, Old Olive Combo Pack, So Saffron Combo Pack
Accessories:  Hippo & Friends Dies, White 3/8" Frayed Ribbon,
Baker's Twine Essentials Pack,

Where did my warmer weather go??  And what are those white things falling from the sky today after almost 70 degrees yesterday??  Oh well . . . back in January I would have thought today was a heatwave!!  It's all in the perspective!!

Here Together

Today I have used the Here Together stamp set and the coordinating designer series paper, All Together, to create this card to share with you.  This is one that we made at a Make-It-Monday a while back.  If you ask me . . . we could use more kindness in this world!!

The designer series paper already has random hearts colored in black so I used the fine tip of the Real Red Stampin' Blend to color in more random red hearts.  After all, hearts are supposed to be red!!  Other than that, the rest of the card is a pretty simple layout, although it does have quite a few layers.

Stamps: Here Together
Cardstock: Basic Black, Real Red, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: All Together, Regals 6" X 6"
Stampin' Blends:  Real Red Combo Pack
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Here For You Dies,

Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels,

Today is going to be a get everything finished up before the weekend kind of day.  There are no appointments scheduled and no place I have to be so I hope to get everything done on my to-do list and then have some leftover time to get even more done.  We shall see how the day goes!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!
