Potted Geraniums

Today we have a card I received in a swap using the Potted Geraniums stamp set.  I took all of the cards out of the bags so if there was a card showing who to give credit to, I don't have it anymore!!  Sorry!!

I didn't really notice until I went to make a list of the supplies for this card that she has stamped the leaves and flowers on Basic White cardstock, but then they are layered onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  I don't usually like white and vanilla together, but this obviously works well. . . . since I didn't even notice it!!

Stamps: Potted Geraniums
Cardstock: Polished Pink, parakeet Party, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Basic White
Ink: Polished Pink, Parakeet Party, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Geraniums Dies, Brushed Brass Butterflies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for a salon appointment and then to head to Iowa City to run some errands.  I am hoping to get some more of my 4th of July decor done today . . . nothing like waiting till the last minute . . . but that is how I roll!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Cottage Rose

Today I have used the Cottage Rose stamp set to create this get-well card to share with you

Usually, when I am going to use the Stampin' Blends I stamp the image with Memento Black.  This time I stamped the image in Early Espresso and lightly used the Stampin' Blends to add some color.  I think I really like the way it turned out.

Stamps:  Cottage Rose
Cardstock: Crumb cake, Petal Pink, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:  Abigail Rose
Ink:  Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink Combo Pack, Mint Macaron Combo Pack
Accessories:  2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday's trip to Cedar Rapids was a HUGE success.  I found absolutely everything I was looking for.   I was also able to tick something else off of my bucket list . . . getting fingerprinted.  LOL. At least it was for a good thing . . . my TSA PreCheck.  Now I need somewhere to go!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Framed Occasions

Today I have used the awesome combination of Starry Sky and Daffodil Delight along with the stamp set, Framed Occasions to create this card to share with you.  Pinterest was the source of this card.  This is one of the cards that everyone got to make at Make-it-Monday last night.

When we were talking about this card last night we decided that the color Starry Sky can be a chameleon.  When paired with yellow as it is here it appears blue, but when you put it with another color such as Orchid Oasis, it appears more purple.  We did decide that it is one of our favorite new In Colors.

Stamps: Framed Occasions
Cardstock: Starry Sky, Daffodil Delight, Basic White
Ink: Starry Sky, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Beautiful Shapes Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Soon after I am done posting this I am off for a day of errand running with my friend, Luetta.  I have some things to pick up at a store in Cedar Rapids and then this afternoon I have an appointment to become TSA Prechecked for five years.  Not that I am planning on flying that much, but even if I only get to use it a few times it sure seemed worth it!!!  I am sure we will have a few other stops along the way as well as a delicious lunch somewhere.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Good Feelings

Today I have used my Stamparatus with the background stamp, Rays of Light, and the sentiment stamp from Good Feelings to create this card to share with you.

The Stamparatus is definitely the way to go with this large background stamp and the large sentiment stamp. If you don't get the sun rays dark enough the first time you can always restamp them and know that they will line up perfectly.  I lightly used the Crushed Curry ink and the Blending Brushes to add some color in between the stamped rays. I thought about using some type of yellow embellishment on the card, but there is already enough yellow that the Opal Rounds pick up a yellowish tint.  A bright cheery card for someone who might need a pick-me-up!

Stamps: Good Feelings, Rays of Light
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black, Crushed Curry
Accessories:  Stamparatus, Blending Brushes, Opal Rounds

Oh, what a beautiful morning . . . oh, what a beautiful day!!  I think I could probably sing (you wouldn't want to hear me) my way through life.  Whenever I say or type something, song lyrics pop into my head!!  Anyway . . . today looks to be a beautiful day!!  A friend is coming to stamp her Make-It-Monday cards this morning as something came up that she cannot come tonight and then all I need to do is load the car and I am ready for stamp night!!  There is no Cubs baseball today so when I get home tonight I think I will break out another good book to keep me occupied!!

Amazing Year

Today I have used the stamp set, Amazing Year to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards we made last month when we went to Wisconsin to the Stamping Retreat.

This is a funky fold card . . . a flip-flap card.   It does open from both directions . . .first right and then left.

As you can see on this opened card there is still plenty of room for your message . . .you just have to be kind of careful where you write so that your writing does not show when the card is closed.

Stamps: Amazing Year
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Texture Chic
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Calypso Coral Combo Pack, Old Olive Combo Pack
Accessories:  Solid Faceted Gems

Yesterday was a fairly productive day as I got all of my cardstock cut for Monday's Make-It-Monday.  Today all I have left to do is to get supplies gathered up and stuff envelopes.  I am hoping to get the first done this morning and then I can stuff envelopes this afternoon while watching baseball.  It looks to be a beautiful day so I may sit outside and read some as well.  John is going on day 6 of not feeling well . . . I think he sounds better but he swears he doesn't feel any better.  Too bad guys are so stubborn about either taking something or going to the doctor when they are sick!!

Best Butterflies

Today I have used the stamp set Best Butterflies, and the coordinating designer series paper, Butterfly Kisses, to make this card to share with you.

Everybody needs good vibes sent to them now and again  . . . no matter what the occasion.  Once again the designer series paper does most of the work for you!!

When I cut the designer series on the diagonal I of course had the bottom half left.  As you can see, it makes a cool card as well . . . doesn't really matter if it is on the top or the bottom!!

Stamps: Best Butterflies
Cardstock: Starry Sky, Parakeet Party, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Kisses
Ink: Starry Sky
Accessories: Build a Butterfly Dies, Fun Flower Resin Shapes,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Believe it or not . . . .after I am done typing this I am going back inside from sitting on my patio!!  I am actually cold sitting here . . . remind me of this on some of those HOT HOT days that I know are still coming.  I am hoping to get cardstock cut today for Make-It-Monday this afternoon while listening to the Cubs game.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Blessings of Home

I am trying to use what I have left of the designer series paper from the January-June 2022 Mini  Catalog so today I paired the Blessing of Home stamp set, which is in the new catalog, with the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper which is retiring at the end of the month.  This is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

I love the look of the doilies and really wish they would have some in the annual catalog.  These Heart & Home Doilies are really versatile as you can use one of the three colors that they come in, or turn them over for a white doily.

Stamps: Blessings of Home
Cardstock: Pale Papaya, Basic Gray, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Heart & Home (Retiring)
Ink: Basic Gray
Accessories:  Nature's Prints Dies, Hive 3D Embossing Folder,
Heart & Home Doilies (retiring), Classic Matte Dots,

We are going on day 4 of feeling crummy at the Wilson household.  I think we both feel equally as crummy but I refuse to give in to it and am trying to keep up a normal schedule, just not running around as much as I usually might do.  Here's hoping for a better tomorrow!!

Hand Penned Petals

Today I have used the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and the Build a Butterfly Dies to make this thank you card to share with you.

Most of the dies in the Build a Butterfly Dies set are parts and pieces of butterflies.  This particular die is the only whole butterfly die in the set.  When cut from the Glimmer Paper it adds just the sparkle this card needs.

Stamps: Hand-Penned Petals
Cardstock: Fresh Freesia, Orchid Oasis, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Kisses, 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper
Ink: Orchid Oasis
Accessories:  Build a Butterfly Dies, Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder,
Double Oval Punch, Fun Flower Resin Shapes,
Stampin' Dimensionals

There was no eye appointment for John yesterday.  As the morning wore on it became very evident that neither one of us had any business going anywhere, with all of the coughing we were doing.  I feel better, John not so much.  Hopefully today is a better day.

Happiness Abounds

Today I have a card that I received as a swap in Wisconsin to share with you.  I took them out of the bags so have no idea who to give credit to.  This is also one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

Since this was a swap I received I had to hunt for what die she had used for the sentiment piece.  I have used the Ever Eden stamp set a lot but had never used the dies before.  I love the way she added color to the designer series paper with the blending brushes.

Stamps: Happiness Abounds
Cardstock: Tahitian Tide, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Perfectly Penciled
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Tahitian Tide Combo Pack,
Granny Apple Green Combo Pack, Daffodil delight Combo Pack
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Eden Dies, Blanding Brushes, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Stamping Dimensionals

Today is supposed to be an eye appointment for John but since both of us felt kind of crummy yesterday that remains to be seen.  I could always take another day of crafting!!

Before we get to today's card . . . today on this day only . . . FREE shipping on orders of $75 or more . .  .what could be better!!

Today I have used the stamp set, Potted Geraniums, and the designer series paper, Sun Prints to make this card to share with you.  because after all . . . like it says . . . birthdays are reminders that life should be celebrated!!

It doesn't get much easier than this when making a card.  Your card is done with a couple of layers, a sentiment, and some embellishments.  I love that we have such fantastic designer series paper that makes card making so easy!!

I didn't stay out there too long!!  I have no shortage of things to work on . . . I just have to decide what that is going to be!!

Glad We're Friends

This is a stamp set that was not even on my radar until we used it in Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago and I saw some other cute cards made with it.  And then of course I had to have it!!!

It is a pretty standard layout with some coloring but not a lot.  I had it planned for last Monday's Make-It-Monday, but then my stamp set did not get here in time so it will be made at a future Make-It-Monday.  I am thinking that when we make it I will turn it into a z-fold card.

Stamps: Glad We/re Friends
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: He's the Man
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Cajun Craze Combo Pack, Smoky Slate Combo Pack,
Crumb Cake Combo Pack, Petal Pink Combo Pack
Accessories:  Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, Matte Black Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a very productive day . . . I got my plants planted in my flower pots, cut up all of the rhubarb to make a crisp and two bags in the freezer for later, all of the leftover kits from last Monday stamped up, cross-stitched, read, and watched baseball.  I might need a vacation today . . . but instead I think I will cut this week's Cards in the Mail and work on some 4th of July projects.  After talking with Hanna on Saturday, I have some things I want to get for the kids before they come for the parade, but that can wait till later in the week.

Botanical Layers

Today I have used my favorite technique, Joseph's Coat, to make this card to share with you.  This is a card I took to the stampin' day in Wisconsin as a swap.  It is also one I saw on a site I follow . . . . Flowerbug's Inkspot.  I originally saw it on Pinterest and traced it back to her site.

Over the years I have changed how I how do the Jacob's Coat technique.  I started out by using a brayer to put the dark ink over the embossed images.  When we no longer sold the brayers, I went to sponging the dark ink on.  That was super messy.  Now I just take my Memento Ink, in this case, and rub it all over the embossed images.  Much easier and way less messy!!!

Stamps: Botanical Layers, Lovely & Lasting
Cardstock: Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: 2022-2024 In Color 6" X 6"
Ink: Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Barty, Bermuda Bay, Memento Black
Accessories:  All That Dies, Versamark, Basics Embossing Powders,
Heat Tool, Blending Brushes, Iridescent Pearl Jewels,
1/8" Tahitian Tide Metalic Woven Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

We had a great time at Hanna and Jake's yesterday!!  The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of time outdoors.  Jake's mom was there as well and it was good to spend some time with her.  I do have my work cut out for me today as Hanna has a pretty extensive rhubarb patch and I brought quite a bit home with me.  I am planning on making a rhubarb crisp with some of it and freezing the rest of it to use this winter.  To say I was thrilled to get some would be an understatement!!

This Birthday Piggy

This Birthday Piggy seems like a fitting stamp set for Iowans since we are the #1 pork producing state!!  But he looks too cute to eat!!

Nature's Prints

Today I have used the Nature's Prints stamp set and the coordinating new In Colors, Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky, to make this card to share with you.

The Fern 3D Embossing Folder is the perfect texture for this card.  The shape around the sentiment is one of the dies included in the Nature's Prints Dies that coordinate with this stamp set.  I cut the Orchid Oasis shape in half horizontally and layered it behind the white sentiment piece.

Stamps: Nature's Prints
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Orchid Oasis, Starry Sky, Basic White

I did some organizing and cleaning yesterday in and around my stamp room and closet and did not get to Iowa City to run my errands.  Today is the day.  I have a big bag of stuff for Goodwill and I want a couple of things for my patio so hopefully, I can find them.  My friend, Luetta, is going with me so, of course, our trip will involve lunch as well.  If I get home in time and still feel like it, I would like to get some cardstock cut and other projects finished up.

Simply Fabulous

Simply Fabulous, which is the stamp set I have used here, is one I threw into my cart at the last moment when placing an order a couple of weeks ago.  I am sure glad I did.  As with many stamp sets, I love the sentiments and the images are just a bonus.

This is a great card for just checking in on friends.  The center of the flowers has been stamped off to give the flowers some shading.  The Stars & Splatters  3D Embossing Folder gives a little more interest and depth to the card.

Stamps: Simply Fabulous
Cardstock: Polished Pink, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Awash In Beauty
Ink: Memento Blak, Polished Pink, Old Olive

What a beautiful morning as I sit on my patio typing this post.  A welcome relief after the heat of the last few days.  I am trying to decide if I want to make an errand run to Iowa City today to pick up a few things for my patio.  If I do I will have to be home in time to attend the reception for the superintendent of schools who is retiring this year.  We had worked together for over 30 years so I sure don't want to miss it.

Cup of Tea

A cup of tea cures all ills . . . I can't tell you how many times my mom told me that or how many cups of tea we drank while trying to solve either the world's or my problems.  I would give anything to have another cup of tea with her.  This stamp set certainly does remind me of her.

This is another card I made in Wisconsin and one everyone made on Monday night.  If you haven't used the Split Card Textures Dies, you certainly need to take a look at them.  On this card, I only used half of the die.

When you open it up there is a place to tuck a tea bag into it.  The Foam Adhesive Strips work perfectly to give the cardstock a little lift so you can tuck a little something into the card.

Stamps: Cup of Tea
Cardstock: Orchid Oasis, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: 2022-2024 In Color 6" X 6"
Ink: Orchid Oasis, Pear Pizazz

Yesterday my follow-up appointment for my knee surgery was a big success.  Not only was I in and out in less than 45 minutes (x-rays included), they were very pleased with the way it has healed and with my range of motion in the knee.  Now if only my new knee can go as many places as my old one did!!

Lovely & Lasting

Today I have used the Lovely & Lasting stamp set to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone stamping with me this week gets to make.  It is another one of the cards I made last week in Wisconsin, as are all of the cards I will share this week.

This is a z-fold card that is fast becoming a favorite.  The combination of Sweet Sorbet and Basic Black is also becoming a favorite.  The Stamparatus comes in very handy with this stamp as it is rather large and is easier to manage with the Stamparatus.  You can also stamp it a second time to get a deep dark image.

Stamps: Lovely & Lasting
Cardstock: Sweet Sorbet, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Perfectly Penciled
Ink: Sweet Sorbet, Memento Black
Accessories: Stamparatus, 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots, Iridescent Pearl Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door bright and early for my post-operative check-up on my knee.  I can't imagine that they will find anything wrong with it as well as it feels and as much as I can do.  I am hoping to run a few errands and then come home and spend the rest of the HOT afternoon in my stamping room in front of my air conditioner!!

Happiness Abounds

I can not tell you how much I love this designer series paper, Hues of Happiness.  Here I have paired it with the coordinating stamp set, Happiness Abounds, in this card that I made at the retreat I went to in Wisconsin.

If you haven't checked out the Stylish Shapes Dies, you really should.  They are awesome!!  The graduating sizes of stitched circles, squares, and flags are certainly going to see a lot of use in the months ahead.

I am mostly ready for Make-It-Monday tonight.  I just have a couple more things to gather up and then load the car.  As hot as it is going to be today, staying inside and crafting seems like the thing to do.  I have several other projects that I want to try and get finished.  I may even get a head start on planning upcoming classes!!

Go-To Greetings

Sometimes you just need a card that is not for a special occasion . . .  maybe just to check in on a friend.  This card using the Go-To Greetings that I made last weekend in Wisconsin is just such a card.

I did fussy cut around the sentiment after it was embossed with white embossing powder.  But as Tina said last Saturday . . . "it will make you appreciate the dies that are in the Charing Sentiments bundle all the more!"  That particular bundle has a lot of sentiments and dies that are specially made to cut around the words.  I must say she was right.

Stamps: Go-To Greetings
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Abigail Rose
Accessories:  Versamark, Basics Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Pearl Basic Jewels, Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack,
Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Our road trip shopping yesterday was a lot of fun and the only things I bought were breakfast, brick oven pizza mid-afternoon, and a funky Hawkeye t-shirt to wear to football games this fall.  We saw a lot of things and had a good time but nothing other than the shirt really caught my eye saying you have to have me!!   I came home and cut cardstock so that all I have left to do today for Make-It-Monday is some die-cutting and dry embossing.  And of course, listening to the Cubs baseball game . . . I know they are not doing that well but I like watching or listening to them anyway!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Good Feelings

Today I have yet another card I made last weekend in Wisconsin.  This card uses the Good Feelings stamp set and the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper.

I used the Highland Heather Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to color in the flowers.  There is already some shading on the flowers so it makes it pretty easy to color them in.  The same is true for the leaves.  They were colored with the Soft Succulent Stampin' Blend Combo Pack.  We used the Opal Rounds on this card.   I used them a lot when they first came out and then sort of forgot about them.  I need to use them more often.

.

Stamps: Good Feelings
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Highland Heather, Basic White

Yesterday's trip to the Botanical Center and Blank Park Zoo was a huge success.  The weather even cooperated.  Today I am off again with a friend to shop some of the small-town shops around here on the Rural Road Trip.  I am making up for lost time when I was just sitting with a sore knee!!

Charming Sentiments

I have again used the stamp set Charming Sentiments, this time paired with the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper to make this card to share with you.  This was another card that I made this weekend in Wisconsin and that is a Cards in the Mail card this week.

The butterfly has been fussy cut and the Basic Pearl Jewels have been colored with a Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend.  This is a pretty basic layout that I have used a lot and would look totally different depending on the designer series paper and the focal image.

Stamps: Charming Sentiments
Cardstock: Parakeet Party, Calypso Coral, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Butterfly Kisses
Ink: Memento Black

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to head to Des Moines to spend the day with Hanna and the kids.  We are going to start at the Botanical Center in the morning because it is supposed to rain and then head to Blank Park Zoo in the afternoon when the weather is supposed to be better.  I don't know who will be more excited . . . me or the kids!!

Charming Sentiments

Today I have used the stamp set, Charming Sentiments, and the hostess item, Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper to create this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that I made last weekend at the stamping event I attended in Wisconsin.

This stamp set has some pretty original sentiments in some pretty funky fonts.  Add a couple of die cuts and a couple of embellishments and your card is done!!

Designer Series Paper: Design a Daydream

Yesterday's outing was a success although neither one of us bought much at all.  We had a great lunch, went on an adventure following our GPS to find the edge of the woods, and had a lot of laughs.

Today I hope to get cardstock cut for this week's Cards in the Mail as well as get a start on cutting cardstock for Monday night's Make-It-Monday.

Go-To-Greetings

Today I have spotlighted one of the flowers in this Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper when making this card to share with you.

The Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder was perfect for layering under the designer series paper.    I used the same Calypso Coral Dark Stampin' Blend to color the Iridescent Pearl Jewels.  I thought they would show up much better if they were the same color as the flower.

Stamps: Go-To Greetings
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, Basic White

Today, my friend, Luetta, and I are going to spend the day out and about.  We hope to go to a scrapbooking store, Half Price Books, a shoe store, and then eat lunch at a restaurant we really like in Cedar Rapids.  I hope the rain holds off long enough or at least holds off while we are going in and out of stores so we don't get drenched!!
