Alphabest

It is no secret that the Hawkeyes have not been playing their best football this season.  But if you are a true Hawkeye fan then you always BELIEVE!!  When my friend Susie posted a project she made with these gnome dies, I knew right away that I wanted to make some of them.  I had five done Saturday to take to my tailgating friends.  And our belief must have worked because they won and won pretty easily!!

Here is a close-up of the gnomes.  I just pulled out all of my paper that had any black and gold or yellow in it to make the gnome hats.  I am not sure how I was lucky enough to find them, but I did find some wooden plank signs that already had the rope hangers and they were the perfect size for my seven gnomes.  I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out and I think the recipients of these liked them as well.

Today brings another early morning eye appointment only this time it is for me.  I am then meeting a friend to deliver some stamps.  I am also planning on running a few errands.  Stamping is on the agenda for this afternoon and then Julie and Jason are bringing pizza over for supper tonight.  I am hoping to watch a little of the World Series baseball game although I will probably fall asleep before it is over.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Soft Seedlings

Today I have used the stamp set,m Soft Seedlings to make this card to share with you.

After stamping the image I cut it out with the Stylish Shapes circle die and then inserted it back into the space with the help of some dimensionals.  I love the way it turned out!!

Yesterday was a great day in Hawkeyeland!!  We had a great time tailgating.  The food was good and the company even better.  The walk to the stadium and up to our seats gets easier every time!!  A win-win in my book . . . and the Hawks even won!!
Every day is a gift!!  Make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Hello Harvest

Today I have used the Hello Harvest stamp set along with a couple of coordinating products, the Rustic Pumpkin Dies, and the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper to make this card to share with you.

They are tiny, but the Mossy Meadow tendrils along the sentiment piece finished off the card.  It just seemed to be missing something before.  The Leaf Label & Gem Combo pack is on backorder right now but would be well worth getting for the future as the gems are pretty cool.

Stamps: Hello Harvest
Cardstock: Mossy meadow, Kraft 6" X 6", Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Rustic Harvest
Ink: Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Rustic Pumpkin Dies, Label Me Fancy Punch,
Leaf Label & Amber Gem Dies,

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for a day of tailgating and Hawkeye football.  Even though the team may not be doing as well as we would like I am a tried and true Hawkeye fan through thick and thin and am looking forward to a fun day.  The weather is certainly cooperating today for a late October Homecoming game!!  Go Hawks!!

Cottage Rose

Today I have used one of the awesome stamp sets from the Annual Idea Book and Catalog, Cottage Rose, to make this card to share with you.

I love the way the Very Best Trio Punch can give you different looks depending on how you punch it.  This look is a little tricky because you have to watch how you make the first punch and flip it over to make the second punch.  Then you basically do the same thing for the bottom corners.  Tricky, but fun!

Stamps: Cottage Rose
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Neutrals 6" X 6"
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder,
Very Best Trio Punch, Silver Threaded Twine,
Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

No appointments, nothing I really have to do and a beautiful day today!!  I will take it!!  I am planning on working on some craft show projects and making some potato salad to take for tailgating tomorrow and of course, watching the World Series tonight on TV.  A perfect day!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Bewitching

Today I have used the two Halloween stamp sets in the Holiday Mini Catalog, Bewitching, and Best Witches, along with the coordinating punch, the Witch Hat Builder Punch, to make this card to share with you.

The Spots & Dots Die surely does make a mess with all of the little black dots that get cut out of the cardstock but it sure does make the card look cuter since it coordinates with the dots on the witch's hat.  I think I have made more Halloween cards this year than I ever have before . . . but I thought all of the hats in the Bewitching stamp set were just so cute.

Stamps: Best Witches, Bewitching
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack
Accessories:  Dots & Spots Die, Stylish Shapes Dies,
Layering Circles Dies, Stamparatus, Witch Builder Hat Punch,
Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Mini Glue Dots,

Today brings another doctor's appointment . . . this time at the eye clinic and in the afternoon, so I am sure they will be backed up and we will be there a while.  I am hoping to get a little bit of stamping in this morning before we have to leave.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Inspired Thoughts

Today I have used the stamp set, Inspired Thoughts, to make this card to share with you.  Along with the Aspen Tree Dies it makes the perfect Thinking of You or Sympathy card.

This particular paper from the Hues of Happiness card works perfectly for the nighttime scene with this die.  There are other pieces in the pack that would work equally as well if you were going for a daytime look.  Very easy card after die cutting a couple of leaves . . . would you believe no other embellishment!!

Stamps: Inspired Thoughts
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White, Silver Foil
Designer Series Paper: Hues of Happiness
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Aspen Tree Dies, Meadow Dies,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is once again doctor appointment day for both of us so no stamping unless I have a ton of energy left tonight!!  Out the door as this loads!

Brightest Beauty

Today I have used the stamp set, Brightest Beauty, and the coordinating product, Golden Beauty Dies to make this card to share with you.

I was actually thinking that the Crushed Curry flowers would be pretty difficult to line up but they are actually VERY easy.  And if you don't get them exactly you can always stamp them again and it looks like more flowers.  I  hated to cover up the flashy side of the designer series paper but really liked the muted look under the flowers.  Several people last night chose to do the opposite and have the flashy side show under the flowers.  Either one of them looked great.

Stamps: Brightest Beauty
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Splendid Day
Ink: Garden Green, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Golden Beauty Dies, Brushed Metallic Dots,
Silver Threaded Twine, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

A day with nothing on the schedule . . . I would like to get some of my craft show things finished up and maybe get the leftover packets from last night stamped.  We shall see . . . it may be that a good book and my recliner are calling my name as well.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Alphabest

Today I have used the alphabet stamp set, Alphabest, and the coordinating punch, Best label Punch to make this card to share with you.  This is my first time using this stamp set and punch but it certainly won't be the last.

The Stamparatus certainly came in handy when making this card.  Especially for a class tonight.  I just laid out the letters with enough space between them that you will be able to punch them out easily.  Now that I have used this set, the ideas are flowing for more cards!!

Stamps: Alphabest
Cardstock: Crumb cake, Pale Payaya, Early Espresso, Basic White
Ink: Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends:  Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack, Pale Payaya Combo Pack, Cajun Craze Combo Pack,
Accessories:  Best Label Punch, Stamparatus, Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Everything is ready to go and waiting by the back door to be loaded into the vehicle for Make-It-Monday tonight.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone.  Since everything is ready I do need to spend today cleaning up from my whirlwind of stamping over the weekend.  I have stamps, scraps of paper, and supplies everywhere!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Charming Sentiments

Today I have used the stamp set, Charming Sentiments, to make this card to share with you.  If you have not checked out this stamp set, you really need to do so.  It is an awesome set of sixteen sentiments in a variety of fonts.  Very cool!!!

I thought about stamping the Scottie dog and then punching him out but decided that I liked the dog punched out of black cardstock even better.  The plaid bow is the perfect thing to tie it all together . . . a great fall card just to say hello!

Stamps: Charming Sentiments
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Gingham Cottage
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder,
Scottie Dog Punch, Opal Rounds,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today will be a cardstock-cutting, baseball-watching kind of day.  I hope to get everything cut and gathered this morning so that I can stuff envelopes and write out supply sheets this afternoon while watching the game.  I have till 1:30 so that should be plenty doable!!!  If I get everything done I might throw in a little stitching.  Here is my Halloween board.

I am working on a set for every holiday or season and am now working on the Thanksgiving ones!

Having too many hobbies is a good thing when you are retired and have all the time in the world!!

Paradise Palms

Today I am sharing a card one of my friends made for a swap we participated in back in September.

The Spruced-Up Dies are actually a holiday die set, but I know my friend wanted to show it in a different way than was intended.  I think this birthday card is a great way to do it.  I actually just cut a small rectangle of the star designer paper to put under the die cut.  And I love her color choices for this birthday card.

Stamps: Paradise Palms
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Celebrate Everything
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Spruced-up Outlines Dies, Layering Circles Dies,
 Matte Black Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today got a very early start and it was not even a tailgating Saturday.  John had a sleep study done at Sleep Lab last night and I had to be in Iowa City at 5:30 this morning to pick him up.  I said it was just like getting up for tailgating without the traffic and the great food that is always there.  I hope to at least watch the Hawkeye football game but I am betting a nap is calling my name this afternoon.

Very Best Occasions

Today I have again used the stamp set, Very Best Occasions to make this card to share with you.

One of the best things about this Texture Chic Designer Series Paper and this card is that you can use any of the patterns in the package and they would all look wonderful.  Sometimes I forget about all of the great products in the Annual Idea Book and Catalog so decided to pull out the Painted Label Dies for this card.

Stamps: Very Best Occasions
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Basic White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper:  Texture Chic
Accessories:  Painted Label Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Folder,
Versamark, Metallics Embossing Powder, Festive Pearls,

Very Best Occasions

Today I have used the stamp set, Very Best Occasions, to make this card to share with you.

This is a layout I have used a lot and go back to time and time and time again.  BUT . . . it always seems to look different depending on what designer series paper I use.  I have a lot of the Perfectly Penciled Paper from another project so I am trying to use some of the other patterns in the package.

Stamps: Very Best Occasions
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Perfectly Penciled
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Basic Red Combo Pack
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Matte Black Dots,

September Paper Pumpkin

Did you know that the monthly subscription to Paper Pumpkin always includes a stamp set and an ink spot?  I did not think I had any Halloween sentiments I really liked until I remember the September Paper Pumpkin box and there were a few in that set!!  A bonus indeed!!

This is actually a fun fold card with only the middle section opening toward the top.  The pumpkin and ghost designer series paper is a hostess item from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, called Celebrate Everything.  It is black and white and I colored the jack-o-lanterns in with my Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend.

Stamps: Sentiment from the September Paper Pumpkin
Cardstock: Pale Papaya, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Celebrate Everything (Hostess), Gingham Cottage
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Layering Circle Dies, Label Me Lovely Punch,
Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is a repeat of yesterday . . . John has a follow-up appointment, and baseball is on TV this afternoon and this evening, with a little stamping thrown in the middle.  At least it is lovely to see the sun shining even if it is a little chilly.

Pretty Medallion

Today I have used the background stamp, Pretty Medallion, along with one of the sentiment stamps from the Fond of Autumn set to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone stamping on Monday night got to make.

The Stamparatus came in very handy with this card.  Not so much to get even coverage, but more so because the background stamps are large and the Stamparatus just makes it easier to handle them.  I actually used white embossing powder, but the photo sure does make it look ivory.

Stamps: Pretty Medallion, Fond of Autumn
Cardstock: Gray Granite, Basic White
Ink: Gray Granite
Accessories:  Designer Tags, Stamparatus. Versamark,
Basics Embossing Powder,
Heat Too, Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Stamping, doctor's appointments for John, and baseball are on today's agenda.  Sometimes I feel like that is the story of my life!!  I have been working on my craft show projects . . . although I probably really don't need any new ones, I can't seem to help myself . . . I just keep making more and more!!  Good thing I have a bigger vehicle this year!!

Christmas Scottie

Today I have used the stamp set, Christmas Scottie, and the coordinating punch, Scottie Dog Punch, to make this birthday card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone made last Monday at Make-It-Monday.

The Stamparatus is a must when using this stamp set because I really wanted a solid dark black image for the dog.  The Stamparatus allows me to stamp it as many times as I want until I get the dog as dark as I want.  If you don't have a Stamparatus or are not comfortable using one, I would be happy to help you out!!

Stamps: Christmas Scottie
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Gingham Cottage
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, All That Dies,
Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Gingham Embossing Folder,

Yesterday was a beautiful day and John and I ended up taking a drive along the Mississippi River.  It has been a long time since we have done that and it was good to stretch our eyeballs.  But that means that there is a lot of stamping and planning to do today!!  Hopefully, I get a lot done before watching baseball again tonight!

Blessing of Home

Today I have used the Annual Idea Book and Catalog stamp set, Blessings of Home, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone stamping with me last Monday night got to make.

I had never used the masking paper and decided this would be a good card to try it out on.  I put two strips down on either side of the white cardstock and proceeded to lay down some color using the blending brushes.  When I pulled the masking paper up I had the two crisp clean lines shown here.  I will certainly be using the making paper more in the future.  It sure beats trying to lay out Post-It-Notes in a straight line!!

Stamps: Blessingsome of
Cardstock: Basic Black, Old Olive, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Design a Daydream
Ink: Memento Black, Tranquil Tide, Old Olive, Sweet Sorbet
Accessories:  Masking Paper, Matte Black Dots, Blending Brushes,

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty interesting day.  Our 30+-year-old furnace got a clean bill of health so off I went to Iowa City.  The stitching store in the Quad Cities turned out to be a not-so-great store, but we had a great time anyway on our road trip and did not get lost once.  I got home just in time to watch some baseball.  John decided he was a little chilly so we turned our recently checked-out furnace up and low and behold it would not come on!!  After debating whether this was an emergency or not, I decided to call and just ask if this would pose a health problem, and Jeremy from Kuenster's Plumbing and Heating said it wasn't dangerous, but we might get kind of cold and he sent someone right over to check it out.  I love the service and help that they provide!!  It just turned out to be some condensate from the cleaning which happens sometimes.  We got fixed up and stayed warm and toasty after that.  I love the service that this local company provides!!

Best Witches

Today I have used the stamp set Best Witches along with the Witch Hat Builder Punch to make this card to share with you.  It is one of the Halloween Cards in the Mail this week.

You should see my stamping room floor after die-cutting all of the holes in the black witch hats . . . there are dots everywhere!!!  But I love how they turned out . . . perfect for Cards in the Mail.

Stamps: Best Witches
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Crushed Curry, Basic Black,
Mango Melody, Parakeet Party, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Celebrate Everything
Ink: Mango Melody
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Dots & Spots Dies, With Hat Builder Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Even though there is no home football game today I am getting an early start . . . first on the agenda is a service check on our furnace before the weather really gets cold.  They gave me a time of 8:00 on a Saturday . . . I figured they would want to keep those for people that are not home during the week, but they said "no, it's fine . . .it fits into the schedule here" so I guess today is the day.  After they leave I am headed to Iowa City to run a couple of errands and then a friend and I are headed to the Quad Cities to check out a new stitching store that just opened up.  It will have to be really great for it to beat our favorite store in Osage.  But we shall see!!

Bewitching

Today I have used the Bewitching stamp set and the coordinating punch, Witch Hat Builder Punch, to make this card to share ith you.  This is the last card in the special Bewitching stamp class.

The Stamparatus is a must when using this stamp set so that you get a deep dark image when stamping the hat and the shoes.  That is the beauty of the Stamparatus . . . you can stamp over and over until you get it as dark as you like because it will always stamp in the same spot.  A little bit of coloring and you have your card.  No sentiment or embellishments . . . but sometimes that is okay!!

Stamps: Bewitching
Cardstock: Basic Black, Orchid Oasis, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Orchid Oasis Combo Pack, Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack
Accessories:  With Hat Builder Punch,

Cottage Wreath

Today I have used the sentiment from the Cottage Wreath stamp set as well as the With Hat Builder Punch to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that is in this week's Halloween Cards in the Mail.

My Witch Hat Builder Punch surely got a workout yesterday as I was getting this packet of cards ready.  Considering there are three hats on this card as well as the three bands of different colors and hats on one of the other cards, it is safe to say I was tired of punching hats.  But I love the way this slimline card turned out!!

Stamps: Cottage Wreath
Cardstock: Basic Whiye Thick, Basic Black, Fresh Freesia,
Parakeet Party, Pale Papaya, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Splatters & Stripes 3D Embossing Folder, Witch Hat Builder Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I picked up the kids successfully on Tuesday afternoon and had a fun time spending the rest of the evening with them.  A trip to iHop for supper and some snuggles completed the evening.  I left yesterday morning before they all left to go to school so was home by mid-morning.  The rest of yesterday was spent cutting cardstock and a couple of appointments for me that got cancelled last week when we were in the ER with John. This morning I am getting my flu vaccine so hope I feel like doing something this afternoon . . . if not there is always my recliner and a nap!!

Last night's Make-It-Monday was great.  I believe everyone loved all of the cards we made.  It was good to see everyone again.

Today I am leaving around noon to head to Adel to help out a little bit.  Hanna is at a conference and Jake will be on his way to Minneapolis for his night class so I will be picking the kids up from school and hanging out until Hanna gets home from her conference.  I think I will plan to spend the night instead of driving back home in the dark.

Bewitching

Here is another Halloween card that is in the special Bewitching Stamp Class.

This card is very similar to the other two with just a little bit different placement of the hat and shoes and using a little more color in the background.  Again, the Stamparatus is a must to get a good dark image of the hat.

Bewitching

Today I have again used the Bewitching stamp set to show you another card that is in the special Bewitching stamp class.

As you can see this is a slim-line card.  The Stamparatus is a must for the witch hat to get a nice dark black solid image.  I think I might have stamped the hat three times to get it as dark as I wanted it.  That is the beauty of the Stamparatus!!

Stamps: Bewitching
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black, Crushed Curry
Stampin' Blends:  Parakeet Party Combo Pack, Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack, Orchid Oases Combo Pack,
Accessories:  Stamparatus, Witch Hat Builder Punch,

We had a great day yesterday with everyone here.  The kids enjoyed the small digital cameras that John and I got them for their birthdays and the weather was nice enough for us to be outside.  Sandwiches from Subway and playtime in the park at Kalona were a big hit.  Ice cream from Yotty's is always good and we ended the day with pizza from Casey's.  I was planning on cooking something but with the unexpected events of Thursday and Friday this was much less stress-free!!  A good day was had by all!!

Fond of Autumn

Today I have used the Fond of Autumn stamp set and the Leaf fall 3D Embossing Folder to make this card to share with you.  I found this card on a site I follow . . . Stampin' Studio . . .  and knew it would be perfect for a Cards in the Mail card.

The Rose Gold & White 5/8" Striped Ribbon picks up and coordinates so well with the Rose Gold leaves and the Champagne Rhinestones.  The Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder is a new favorite if you haven't been able to tell this week.  I have used it on many cards!!
