Framed Florets

Today I have used the early release products, Framed Florets and their coordinating dies, Framed Florets Dies, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone made Monday night at Make-It-Monday.

Unfortunately, the Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls are sold out and not going to be restocked.  But any embellishment would work.  I am loving this Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, but unfortunately again, it is a limited-time offering and will soon not be available so you should get some while you can.

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Basic White

Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Real Red Combo Pack,
Evening Evergreen Combo Pack, Daffodil Delight Combo Pack

Wish me luck today . . . it is doctor's day today for John.  We are meeting with a new general practice doctor this morning.  His previous one retired and the interim one John did not like.  I pray he likes this one and it is a good match.  This afternoon he has his monthly eye appointment.  Not sure if we are coming home in between appointments or just staying in Iowa City, but there will be no stamping or crafting today at all.

Season of Chic

Today I have used the Season of Chic stamp set from the Annual Idea Book and Catalog along with the coordinating dies, Chic Dies, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards everyone made last night at Make-It-Monday.

Believe it or not the different colored snowflakes on this card are made with only one color of ink.  I stamped full strength and then stamped two more times before reinking my stamp.  It truly does look like three colors of ink in person.  I thought this would be a great winter thank you card for all of those Christmas and holiday gifts.

Stamps: Season of Chic
Cardstock: Soft Succulent, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Texture Chic, Snowflake Specialty Vellum
Ink: Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen
Accessories:  Scalloped Contour Dies, Chic Dies, Simply Elegant Trim,
Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

After an early morning hair appointment, the rest of the day is totally free!!  I may try to put up some Christmas decorations, or I may just try to get things cleaned up from my flurry of stamping activity the last few weeks and then just take it easy the rest of the day.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Charming Sentiments

Today I have used the stamp set, Charming Sentiments, to make this card to share with you.    I often say to myself "everything will be okay" when feeling concerned about things so I thought a card was in order.

I found this card on Pinterest and could not trace it back to the original poster.  I loved the combination of colors and they were not ones I would typically put together . . . Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Blushing Bride, but they do work for this card.

Stamps: Charming Sentiments
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Pretty Prints
Ink: Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Sentiment Silhouettes Dies, Natural Prints Dies,
Heart Punch Pack, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday's Disney on Ice was absolutely fantastic.  All of the kids (and adults, too) thoroughly enjoyed it.  The small voices saying "This is amazing" over and over was like music to my ears!!

Handmade Wishes

Today I have used the stamp set, Handmade Wishes, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that I made at an event that my friend, Susie, hosted at the end of October.

This Metallic Shimmer Paper is one you really have to see in person to see how beautiful it really is.  Photos just do not do it justice.  It is also the type of paper where a little goes a long way!  I don't think you would want to use a whole quarter of a sheet on a card as that might be a little overwhelming.  The Metallic Shimmer Ribbon and the sequins only accent the sparkliness of the paper.

Stamps: Handmade Wishes
Cardstock: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Metallic Shimmer
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Wintry 3D Embossing Folder, Handmade Tag Punch,
Adhesive-Backed Sequins, 1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon,
Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to head back to Des Moines.  We are taking the kids to Disney on Ice at Wells Fargo Arena.  The show is based on their favorite Disney Movie, Encanto, which takes place in Colombia.  I remember going to Disney on Ice when I was about their age with my mom, dad, and grandma!  This may become a new tradition!!

Joyful Flurry

Today I have this snowy card I made at the shoebox swap when we were in Indianapolis.  My friend, Sally, provided this card for us.

This Snowflake Vellum is super pretty in person.  It totally makes a super easy card because you don't have to do anything else but put it on the cardstock with an embellishment.

Stamps:  Joyful Flurry
Cardstock: Orchid Oasis, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Snowflake Specialty Vellum
Ink: Orchid Oasis
Accessories:  Scallop Contour Dies, 3/16" Iridescent Trim,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  We arrived safely in Adel, had a great meal, fun playing with the kids, and Julie, Hanna, and I got a lot of online Black Friday shopping done last night from our hotel room.  We plan on getting some breakfast and then heading home so I can be home in time to watch the Hawkeye football game.

Soft Seedlings

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Today I have used the Soft Seedlings stamp set to make this card to share with you.  This is a card that I made with my friend, Susie, at an event she planned a while back.

This card uses the baby wipe technique.  Each card comes out looking somewhat different.  Once you get your baby wipe inked with your choice of re-inkers you use it like a stamp pad.  You can use the same baby wipe to get many images until it becomes muddy looking.  Then you know it is time to make a new "ink pad".

Stamps: Soft Seedlings
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Basic White, Vellum
Ink: Cajun Craze
Ink Refills, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze
Accessories:  Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder, Leaf Label & Gems Combo Pack,
Silver Threaded Twine, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

As soon as I am done posting this John and I are headed out the door for Adel to spend Thanksgiving with the kids.   I hope each and every one of you has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Framed Florets

I have another Framed Florets card to share with you today.  This one uses three of the products that are in the suite . . . the stamps, the dies, and the paper.

The fonts used on some of the stamps in this set are really awesome.  I think this mixed-font sentiment is my favorite.  And the In-Color Opal Rounds are the perfect embellishment to complement the pink flowers.

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Polished Pink, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Fitting Florets
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Framed Florets Dies, 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds,
Stampin' Dimensionals

A dessert to make and a friend to meet for lunch today are all that is on the agenda!!  But what a great day to be out and about . . . almost sixty degrees on the day before Thanksgiving.  I will take it!!

Santa's Delivery

Today I have a 3D treat holder that I made a while back sith some projects I got from the Stampin' Sisters

There is a LOT of coloring and die cutting on this project, but it turned out so cute!  I sure wouldn't want to make a ton of them though!!  You can fill them with little candies or treats.  Mine have candy kisses in them although you can not see them.

Stamps: Santa's Delivery
Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Real red Combo Pack, Old Olive Combo Pack, Basic Black Combo Pack,
Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack,
Skintone Light Combo Pack
Accessories: Santa's Train Dies, Wink of Stella, Festive Pearls,
Stampin' Dimensionals

All craft show stuff has been inventoried and put away for the year, I think.  Next year I definitely need to make less of each item!!  But then what if it was a good seller and I sold out!!  Oh the problems of a crafter!!  LOL

Framed Florets

Today I have used the early release stamp set, Framed Florets, and the coordinating Framed Florets Dies, to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that everyone got to make last Monday night at Make-It-Monday.

.

There is a LOT of die-cutting on this card but I do love the way it turned out.  I die-cut the center out of the Petal Pink embossed piece of cardstock and then inlaid the Calypso Coral die-cut into the recessed area.  The Old Olive that shows through is from the first layer next to the card base.  A lot of layers and die-cutting but cool none-the-less!!

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Petal Pink Very Vanilla
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Calypso Coral Combo Pack, Old Olive Combo Pack,
Accessories:  Framed Florets Dies, Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder,
Wink of Stella, Iridescent Rhinestones,

Yesterday was sort of a day of rest . . . kind of.  John and I got the car unloaded and then I worked on getting card packets ready to take to Hanna on Thursday.  She has used them as gifts for her co-workers the last couple of years.  Works great for both of us . . . she gets gifts to give and I get to clean out my card stash and spread my love of cardmaking!!  A win-win for both of us!!

Framed & Festive

Today I have again used the limited-time release stamp set, Framed & Festive, to make this card to share with you.  This is a card that I took as a shoebox swap to Indianapolis last weekend!!

Yes, these are probably spring flowers, but if you color them with Christmas colors and use Christmas designer series paper they look pretty Chrtistmasy.  I did color the berries on the designer series paper with the Dark Red Stampin' Blend.

Stamps: Framed & Festive
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Fitting Florets
Ink: Evening Evergreen, Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Real Red Combo Pack, Daffodil Delight Combo Pack,

Accessories:  Fitting Florets Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies,
Timber 3D Embossing Folder,
Gold Adhesive-Backed Swirls (SOLD OUT),

Another successful craft show is in the books!!  Today's job is to get everything unloaded from the car, sorted, inventoried, and put back in its hibernation place until next winter.  And then I think I am resting for the remainder of the day!!

Framed & Festive

Today I have used the limited-time release stamp set, Framed & Festive, to make this card to share with you.  This set has some absolutely awesome Christmas sentiments!!

Who doesn't love a Christmas card with some gold sparkle and some bling on it!!  I have used the Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls on this card.  Unfortunately, they have sold out but you could use any gold embellishment, like the Festive Pearls or something else that has a gold tone to it.

Stamps: Framed & Festive
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Very Vanilla, Gold Foil
Accessories:  Framed Florets Dies, Merry 3D Embossing Folder,
Simply Elegant Trim, Gold Adhesive Backed Swirlks (SOLD OIUT),

Iowa State Gnome Wall Hangings

It about killed me, but I did it!!  Never let it be said that I am not an equal opportunity crafter!!

I made a trip to a scrapbook store and got some Iowa State designer series paper and also some other paper in the Iowa State colors and made six gnome plaques.  I sure hope they sell because heaven knows what I will do with them if they don't!!

I did struggle a little with what to use as a background for the gnomes and found this . . . I wasn't sure it would really work but my friend told me I was overthinking it so I went with that.  They were the last craft show project I finished up Wednesday evening.  I left them till last because if I didn't get them done, it would be okay.  But as you can see I managed to get six of them done

Yesterday afternoon I got everything set up and ready to go at the show.  Some very nice lady let me borrow her handcart and boy did that make things easier.  I am now on the hunt for one of those for myself.  Since I have a larger vehicle I now have room for it!!

It's not the best picture, but I am ready!!  I have come to the conclusion that I have way too much stuff!!  LOL

Santa's Delivery

Today I have used the Christmas stamp set, Santa's Delivery, along with the Santa from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit to create this treat holder to share with you.

I got several of these decorated Peekaboo Treat bags as swaps at the event in Indianapolis last weekend and decided to whip some of them up for the craft show this weekend.  I made all of these in an hour or so yesterday morning.  It is always tricky trying to figure out how many to make of something for a show . . . you want to have enough, but you don't want scads left over.  I hope I have guessed correctly!!

I added some Wink of Stella on his beard and mustache and Santa really sparkles now!!  What do you think  . . . will I have most of these left over??

Stamps: Santa's Delivery, October Paper Pumpkin
Cardstock: Poppy Parade Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Santa Express
Ink: Memento Black, Poppy Parade
Stampin' Blends:  Poppy Parade Combo Pack, Petal Pink Combo pack,
Light Combo pack
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Banners Pick a Punch, Peekaboo Treat Bags,
Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

The tables are loaded and everything else is sitting by the back door waiting for me to try and fit it all in the vehicle.  It will be a bit of a Jenga trick as this will be the first time trying to load everything into the Rav4.  I knew exactly how to fit it all in the trunk of my car, but this will be a new learning curve.  You would think that it has more room but it certainly is configured differently!!

Hello Harvest

Today I have used the stamp set Hello Harvest and the coordinating designer series paper, Rustic Harvest to create this card to share with you.

This card is really easier than it looks. I simply cut 5" X 2" pieces of designer series paper and then cut them diagonally.  I started in the upper left-hand corner by placing the Crushed Curry piece and then simply worked my way around the card being sure that my triangle points always met in the middle of the left-hand side.  It looks like a hot mess there but the leaf covers it up nicely!!

Stamps: Hello Harvest
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Rustic Harvest
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack, Champagne Rhinestones,
Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I successfully made it to Pella and home yesterday afternoon without any weather troubles.  Met up with Hanna, stopped at one of my favorite shoe stores in Pella, stopped at the bakery to get cookies for the kids and Dutch Letters for the adults, and then headed home.  I crafted the rest of the evening getting several more projects ready for this weekend.  The same is going to be true of today . . . finishing up some projects and maybe starting to load the car.  We will have to see what the weather brings as far as loading the car!!

Cottage Wreath

Today I have used a couple of stamp sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog, Cottage Wreath, and Painted Pheasant, to make this card to share with you.  I have also used a couple of items from the Seasonal Sale . . . Deckled Rectangle Dies and the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  If you don't have either one of these items, now is the perfect time to get them while they are on sale.

To make the wreath I inked up my stamp with So Saffron ink and then took a Sponge Dauber and very lightly daubed some Calypso Coral ink on the stamp.  I breathed on it and then stamped.  I then took the twiggy part of the wreath stamp and inked it up with Soft Suede, stamped off, and then stamped that part of the wreath.  Sometimes the die can be a little tricky to get lined up just right but I found if I focus on the center of the wreath rather than the outside it was much easier.

Stamps: Cottage Wreath, Painted Pheasant
Cardstock: So Saffron, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Gingham Cottage, Brushed Metallic
Ink: So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Deckled Rectangle Dies, Country Wreath Dies,
Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder,
Stampin' Dimensionals

What is that white stuff falling from the sky???  I am not sure I am ready for that!!!  I am supposed to meet Hanna in Pella this afternoon to give her some Operation Christmas Child boxes.  I guess we will see what the weather does in the next couple of hours.  If I don't go there is always crafting to do.

Framed Florets

Today I have used the early release product, Framed Florets, to make this card to share with you.  It is one of the cards that was in last week's Cards in the Mail packets.

I embossed the leaves with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and then added a little darker color with the Blending Brushes and Early Espresso Ink.  I had a lot of leaves left from my combo packs but no gems so I decided to use the Champagne Rhinestones.  They don't show up quite as well as the gems but they work.

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Pale Papaya, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Folder,
Leaf Fall Embossing Folder, Leaf label & Amber Gem Combo Pack,
Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Blending Brushes,
Stampin' Dimensionals

A safe and fun trip to Indianapolis is in the books.  Good company, fun stamping, and safe travels for all!!  Now I need to kick it into gear to finish getting ready for tonight's Make-It-Monday and the big show this weekend!!

Framed Florets

Today I have used the early release product, Framed Florets, to share this Cards in the Mail card with you.

I totally forget about this Twigs and Sprigs Embossing Folder because it is with my dies instead of my embossing Folders.  It is part of a set that has dies that coordinate with it, which is why it is with my dies.  It is pretty cool and perfect for this time of year and a Cards in the Mail card.  Add a sentiment and a little embellishment and it is done!!

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, OId Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder,
Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . yesterday did not go at all as planned.  But my time management skills got a good workout.  Mid-morning I was eating a soft bagel and a chunk of a tooth came out.  I spent five hours in the dentist's office as they were working me in on an emergency basis.  I did not want to take off for Indianapolis today if it was infected or anything like that.  So I took my swaps along with me and spent the time while I was waiting very productively!!  A crafter can craft anywhere!!

Luckily, there is no sign of infection and the remaining tooth is stable . . . I just need to get a crown on it which is scheduled for December.  So when I got home I finished up what I needed to do and went to bed to finish packing this morning.  Everything is now sitting by the door waiting to be loaded into the car as soon as I finish this post.

Framed Florets

Today I have used the early release stamp set, Framed Florets, and the limited-time products, Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper and the Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls to make this card to share with you.

This is a funky fold called a book binding fold.  The card opens part way . . . where there is green designer series paper is the binding part of the card.  Just something a little different for a change.

Stamps: Framed Florets
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Fitting Florets
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Potted Succulents Dies, Gold Adhesive Backed Swirls,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was another very productive day.  I have all my cardstock cut, both for Monday's Make-It-Monday and for my swaps.  Some people call it procrastination but I am calling it good time management . . . I am putting my swaps together in the car on the way to Indianapolis tomorrow.  I have a few things to finish up for classes and then today I hope to be able to work on more craft show projects!!

Fond of Autumn

Today I have used the Fond of Autumn stamp set, along with the Chic dies to make this fall card to share with you.  This is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

I saw a card similar to this on line but using different leaves.  Since I did not have those leaf dies I decided to try the ones in the Chic Dies pack.  I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  The copper foil and the Brushed Metallic Dots are perfect for a fall card.

Stamps: Fond of Autumn
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic White, Copper Foil
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories:  Deckled Rectangle Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies,
Chic Dies, Brushed Metallic Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

A batch of chocolate chip cookies made, a batch of Chex Mix made,  more craft show projects are done, and cardstock cut, stuffed, and ready to mail for Cards in the Mail this week.  Yesterday was a very productive day.  This time change sure messes with my sleep pattern but it is amazing how much you can get done when you get up at 5:30 or 6:00.  I wonder what all today will bring!!

Christmas Scottie

This year I decided to try and make some treats for pets to sell at my craft show.  So far I have come up with something for dogs . . . not so much for cats!!

I did a little research on what would be the best dog treats to put in these and found some Wholesome Rewards Dog Treats.  They are supposed to be all-natural and healthy for dogs.

I am hoping these will be good sellers at the craft show; otherwise, my friends with dogs will be getting lots of treats!!

Stamps: Christmas Scottie
Cardstock: Basic black, Basic White, Red Glimmer
Designer Series Paper: Gingham Cottage
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Scottie Dog Punch,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Clear Envelopes, Tear & Tape,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was another very productive crafting day.  I finished up another project and started yet another one.  Today I am thinking that I would like to bake some cookies and get started on my swap for this weekend's Stampin' Up! On Stage Local.  I have my idea in mind but I need to at least get my cardstock cut and stamped.  I can always assemble them on the ride to Indianapolis!!
