Wonderland

Terri wanted to make a fall card and a Christmas card at her stamping party on Saturday.  Here is the Christmas card that everyone got to make.

Some people chose to emboss the tree, greeting, and snowflakes and other people chose not to.  Either way I think the cards turned out fabulously.  I believe every one was very pleased with their creations.

Stamps:  Wonderland
Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick, Night of Navy
Ink:  Whisper White Craft Ink
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Snow Flurry Punch,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be clean in the stamp room after the flurry of stamping activity last week (that seems to be a never ending job) and to start an order of get well and sympathy cards.

Witch's Hat Decor Kit

Isn't this the most adorable witch's hat???  And so easy to make as well.  I made mine last weekend in about 90 minutes!!

This is a kit that is in the holiday catalog and will be available on September 1st.  Had I not seen it at convention, I probably wouldn't have even given it a second glance, but it is definitely worth a second and even a third glance.  I can't wait to put out my Halloween decorations and have this be at the center of my table.

There are even some left over pieces after finishing that I used to make Halloween cards.

Wouldn't you like to make one too??   Well, you are in luck because you can!!

Join me September 21st at Carlos O'Kelly's at 5:00 (or there abouts) for a fun evening of Mexican food and crafting.  For $30 you will receive the supplies to make one hat centerpiece and five Halloween cards.  You will use my stamp set and inks and special adhesive.  All you need to do is bring regular adhesive and your appetite.  This is a bargain to be sure . . . if you bought all of the supplies to make this yourself here is a cost breakdown:

Kit $22
Stamp Set $26
Adhesive $7
Inks $13
Total:  $68 ( and that is not including tax, shipping, or the 5 extra cards!!)

RSVP by Thursday, September 3 so I can be sure to have all of the kits we will need!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Yesterday, lunch with my friends extended into the afternoon . . . I arrived home just in time to fix supper.  Even though we see each other quite often it is so much fun to just sit and visit the day away.  Last night I planned what cards and projects to showcase at the worksop I am doing tomorrow afternoon.  Today after I get my hair cut I hope to get everything cut and gathered up so I can be ready to go over my list in the morning to be sure I haven't forgotten anything.  Since today is going to be a rainy day, it will be a good one to stay in and stamp!

Here is another sneak peak at a new stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.  I was lucky enough to be the first prize patrol at convention and this is the set I won!!  They must have known that I love snowflakes!!

Yesterday was a day on the go constantly and today isn't going to be much different.   I am meeting a couple of friends for lunch in Washington and it seems like we sit and visit all afternoon after eating.  I am hoping to come home and do a little stamping as I have a workshop to get ready for on Saturday.  I have done many classes but haven't done an actual worksop for quite a while.  I hope I don't forget anything!!

Today is going to be a very busy day!!  I am meeting some other retired teachers for coffee as soon as I am done posting this.  Today is the first day of school in the district we taught in so we thought it would be appropriate to celebrate by meeting for coffee.  I am then going to go to Iowa City to see my brother, sister-in-law, and her mom while her dad has surgery.  Tonight brings stamping at my house for this week's stamp class.  I don't know when I would have found the time to teach today!!  LOL

Among The Branches

Here is another sneak peak at some upcoming products in the Holiday Catalog. The Softly Falling Embossing Folder is perfect for this time of year.  And the Into The Woods Designer Series Paper is to die for.  We saw a video at convention about how this paper was designed and made and it was quite interesting.  Of course living with an artist made it doubly interesting for me.

This is one of the cards I took as a shoebox swap last Saturday.  I still have a couple more to show you this week.

Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White,
Into The Woods Designer Series Paper

Today is my volunteer day at Hospice.  After picking up a few groceries which I still haven't done since we got back from vacation, I plan to come home and rest.  I started reading last night about 10:00 PM after I got home from Make-It-Monday, which was a mistake, and finished my book about 1:30.  This is one tired gal this morning.

To all of my teacher friends I wish you a great school year!!!  You are changing the future!!

No Bones About It

Here is another stamp set that I never gave a second glance to before convention.  Not having small children or grandchildren I seemed to leap right by it, but there are some awesome cards to be made with it!!

Once again this is from the display boards in Utah.

Yesterday was another day of rest for me other than volunteering at Hospice. By the time I got home, I was ready for a quiet afternoon.  My big box of new goodies came and my new Paper Pumpkin and I wished I had had the energy to do something with them but it was not to be.  After another 12 hours of sleep last night I am hoping today is the day!!

Awesomely Artistic

This is one stamp set that I never even saw in the catalog until I went to convention. We used it one night at the shoebox swap I participated in and then I saw it everywhere and wondered why on earth I had not ordered it.

This is another card off of the display boards.  You can bet it was one of the first stamp sets I ordered when I got home and because of my Maine trip, it is arriving this afternoon.  I can't wait to get my hands on it and see what else I can come up with!!  It is awesome!!

Yesterday I did manage to get my suitcase unpacked and stuff put away and made a batch of cookies for John to take to "Old Guy Coffee Club", but that is about all I did.  This morning I am volunteering at Hospice and hope to have some energy for stamping when I get home.  I need to get some swaps done for a stamping day we are having this weekend and since my big pre-order of holiday catalog stuff comes this afternoon, it would be nice to play around with some of that!!

Vintage Leaves

I am a little slow getting started today.  We made it back from Maine about midnight last night, so I slept in a little bit.

Here is another card off of the display boards last month.  This stamp set is an awesome one to use with the emboss resist technique.

I know I have said it before but Vintage Leaves is going to get a workout this fall!!

Stamps:  Vintage Leaves, One Big Meaning
Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Memento Black
Accessories:  Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Sponges, Basic Pearl Jewels

We started our day quite early yesterday at Niagara Falls.  We were up at 6:00 (5:00 our time) and out the hotel door by 7:00 to visit the Falls.  This was a great plan because they are not very busy on a Sunday morning.  Last year when we were here on a Saturday evening you could not get anywhere near the railing to take any sort of pictures.

No selfie stick here as our daughter was able to take our picture!!

She on the other hand has perfected the art of taking selflies without a selfie stick or mono pads as they are called in Maine.  Not nearly as fun of a name!!

I really wanted to go on the Maiden of the Mist boat ride where they take you right up to the Falls, but that was not to be this trip!!

Even though it was a bright sunny day, it is still very misty there.  Last year  it was raining and at night so I was very glad to see them in the day light and without rain.

We stayed at the falls for a couple of hours and then headed home.  We weren't sure we would actually make it home yesterday, but we made great time . . . no construction stops and not a lot of traffic!!  It was a great 10 days but I am glad to be home!!

Stamp Club

In a couple of months I will be starting new technique/stamp club.

Each month we learn two new techniques and make pages like these.  We also make a card using each of the techniques.

Every one then makes a minimum purchase and has a chance to be a hostess. If this is something you think you would like to do, let me know.

By the time you are reading this I hope we are viewing the beauty of Niagara Falls.  We will then begin our long car ride home hoping to arrive some time late tonight!!

While our accommodations are not as awesome as last year, they are still pretty cool.  This year we rented a small two bedroom cabin from the same people.

It has a little kitchenette.

Part of the fun of going on vacation for me is eating out so I doubt we will be making many meals here!!  And besides . . . the seafood is awesome!!

Add caption

One of the bedrooms has two queen size beds and the other one has one queen size bed.

There is a little screened in porch, although it has been a little too chilly for me to use that!!

And this is the view off of the porch.

It is a great little place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!
