Hopefully by the time you are reading this we are well on our way to Pasadena.  We are just taking off and will re-evaluate our route as we go depending on the weather. How could we not have a great trip after the present my brother got from his kids . . . they put a picture of Mom and Dad in acrylic frame with velcro on the bottom so it can be attached the dash board along with this poem . . .

This is a once in a lifetime trip
It's wonderful that you plan to go!
But we thought it wouldn't be the same
Unless Mom and Dad were in tow!

So we've created this special photo
A road trip of reminisce;

Take them along on this adventure
Not a moment will they miss!!

Rose Wonder

Here is another sneak peak at a new stamp set that will be available in about a week.  It is one that I found while scrolling the Internet.

The precision base plate is definitely something you are going to want with this set of dies.  I love this rose!! I have great plans for it later in the week.

Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Rose Garden Thinlits, Big Shot,

My plans for yesterday were rearranged after I got to Illinois to my brother's house.  We decided to turn around and leave for my other brother's house by Des Moines last night, so as to beat the bad weather today.  I am certainly glad that we did as it is snowing like crazy here right now!!  Our route plans for Pasadena have changed drastically because of all the snow in the Texas panhandle and New Mexico.  We will get to the Rose Bowl one way or another!!

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go . . . but not on a jet plane.  I am leaving this afternoon to go to Illinois to get one of my brothers. I am hoping that I will miss the ice that is predicted for our area in the morning.  By the time that he gets off at 1 we are hoping that it will have warmed up enough that we won't have problems getting to my other brother's home by Des Moines.  Everything else has fallen into place so well we are not going to let a little thing like the weather get in the way of our plans.

Embellished Ornaments

Here is another card from our demonstrator meeting back in August. Again, there was no name on the card so not sure who to give credit to!! (Dawn Klein claimed this card . . . thanks, Dawn!)

I love the Embellished Ornament set and was glad to see that it was not on the retirement list.

Yesterday I got all of my presents wrapped.  At least the ones I have bought and got the house relatively picked up.  I am meeting Hanna in Iowa City around noon so that we can finish up our shopping and get the rest of the groceries that we need.  Although I don't like the rain I am glad that it is rain and not snow!!  I think we would have a ton of snow if that were the case!!

Embellished Ornaments

Today's card comes from one I received from my friend, Judy.

The color combination of Blackberry Bliss and Gold is so striking!!  The vellum stack is also very cool . . . something I did not even get open, even though I ordered it way back in August.

Today is my volunteer day at Hospice, with a trip to the cemetery to leave some flowers for Mom and Dad, before I come home to clean a little in preparation for Christmas.  I am hoping to have a little stamping time when I get all of that done.  My pre-order for the Occasions and Sale-a-Brations catalogs came last Friday and I have not even had time to look at all of the goodies, let alone play with any of them!!

Happy Christmas

When I went to my mailbox the other day it was filled with Christmas cards.  I thought I would share some of them with you.

This one comes from my friend, Luetta.  She has way more patience that I do to fussy cut those little deer.

I will say these deer are WAY cuter than the one that is in the back of John's pickup right now.  We will be supplied with lots of venison for the winter!!

Today starts a VERY busy two weeks.  Luckily I got all of my Christmas cards finished, addressed, and ready to go to the post office yesterday.  That will be my first stop.  I am hoping to get all of my groceries except for the cold stuff today while I am in Iowa City.  I have some other Christmas presents to buy and then when I get home I hope to start my wrapping.  That has to be my least favorite part of the whole giving season.  My dad used to love to wrap presents, but I clearly did not get that from him.

Joyful Season

Today's card is one I received in a swap from demonstrator friend, Nicole, at our demonstrate meeting back in August.

This is not a set I purchased, but I am thinking now maybe I should have.  It is one that is retiring at the end of them month.

Today has been another very quiet day for me.  While John is deer hunting I am finishing up my Christmas cards and watching Christmas movies on TV.  The Wizard of Oz has just come on so I think I MUST watch this.  Only hope I don't cry when the witch sets the scarecrow on fire!!

Your Presents

Today's card is one that I made on our Door County weekend and that was brought by my stamping friend Dawn Klein.

There were so many neat Christmas sets and card ideas this year that I didn't get a chance to share them all during stamp nights.

Today has been a really low key day for me other than answering texts.  Both of my daughters are out Christmas shopping (one in Des Moines and one in Iowa City) and have texted me several times.  John is deer hunting and I have been stamping away in my room working on my Christmas cards.  I may actually have them ready to mail on Monday!!

 Snow Place

Once again today's cards comes from a demonstrator swap at our meeting last August.  Again I can't remember who brought this card so if it is yours or you know who brought it please let me know so I can given them credit!!

I am lovin' the snow on the cards and it can just stay there.  I would be perfectly okay with a non-white Christmas this year!!

As soon as I am done posting this card I am out the door to try and finish up some of my Christmas shopping.  I have quite a bit done, but today seemed like a good day to get more of it done.  Then I can stay home on the weekend when everybody else is out shopping!!

Awesomely Artistic

Here is another one of the cards everyone got to make Monday night.  I had decided a while ago that I was also going to include stamp sets from the regular catalog on stamp nights, instead of only focusing on the seasonal catalogs.

I love this color combination of Wild Wasabi, Mossy Meadow, and Rich Razzleberry.

Stamps:  Awesomely Artistic
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Ink:  Wild Wasabi, Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry
Accessories:  Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Last week before we met Hanna in Galena she said that she needed some other Christmas gifts for people and wondered if I had any spare cards laying around.  Well, I just happen to have a plethora of cards so I made up 10 packets of 15 all occasion cards for her to give out as gifts.  Hardly even made a dent in my stash!!  LOL

I think they turned out pretty cute.  I hope the people that she is giving them to like them as well.

Wetlands

Today's card is a super simple one that is gender neutral and takes very few supplies.  It is also one everybody made last night.

This is one of the cards that will go in my stash for gender neutral cards next time I get an order for sympathy cards.  I sometimes have a really hard time coming up with them when I need them.

Stamps:  Wetlands
Cardstock:  Whisper Whisper Thick, Whisper White
Ink:  Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry Markers
Accessories:  Stampin' Dimensionals

Last night's stamp night got a little disrupted when I found out that we had actually gotten Rose Bowl tickets and we were really going to be able to go. Thanks to my brother and his wife we now have game tickets, parade tickets, parking for all day, car rental, and hotel reservations.  My bucket list will be complete!!

Moving right past Christmas to Valentine's Day . . . not really but I did want to share a card made with the Six Sayings stamp set that will be retiring at the end of the month.

This is another one of the cards that everyone will be making tonight at Make-It-Monday.

I can't believe it but this stamp set has not seen any ink at all this year.  I decided it was time to remedy that.

Wonderland

This is one stamp set I am really going to miss when it retires at the end of the month.  Even though I love Lovely as a Tree there is something about these pine trees that really appeal to me.

This is one of the Pinterest inspired cards that everyone will be making Monday night at Make-It-Monday.

Stamps:  Wonderland, Embellished Ornaments
Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Ink:  Mossy Meadow, Versamark

By the time many of you are reading this, we will be well on our way to Galena for our Christmas weekend.  Hanna is driving up from Adel, and Julie and Jason, John and I are going from here.

December 11, 2015

Taking a break from Christmas cards to share my latest project that has been keeping me busy.

Hanna texted me the first part of the week and wanted to know if I was busy this week.  She was wondering if I could make some ornaments for her to give to the staff at the school and also to the students in her advisory class.

Since they are the Wildcats, and their color is purple, we decided on this ornament.

Forty-five ornaments later they are all done.  I did use retired product on these . . . Festive Flurry stamp set and framelits and Perfect Plum and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  It really did not take me all that long to get them done once I got it designed and got my system down for creating them all.

Today I am working on getting everything ready for Make-It-Monday, as we are spending the weekend in Galena and I want to have everything ready so I don't have to do it when I get home Sunday night.

December 10, 2015

Here is another card that I made as part of the shoebox swap when I was in Door County in October.  I think the credit goes to Anne for bringing this card.

I know she said she had cased it from the Holiday Catalog.

I will be hard at work today trying to finish up Hanna's ornaments so that I can take them to her this weekend when we meet in Galena.  Wish me luck!!

Snow Place

Today's card again comes from a demonstrator meeting I attended back in August.  This was one of our shoebox swaps, brought by demonstrator friend, Nicole.

I just love this little guy and the penguin in the set is really cute as well.

Today is my Hospice volunteer day and then hopefully I will be helping my friend Judy, move from the hospital.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that it is a go this time!!

December 7, 2015

Today's card comes from one I received in a swap from my stamping friend and demonstrator, Rory, who lives in New York.

I haven't really played with these framelits much other than at a downline meeting back in August.  I have them, but they continue to sit on my shelf.  I do believe I need to get them out and use them!!

I finished and delivered my big order of custom Christmas cards this morning and was just getting ready to sit and read for a while when I got a message from Hanna.  She wanted to know if I was busy this week and would it be possible to make 44 West Central Valley Christmas ornaments.  So . . . it is off to the stamp room I go.  Good thing there is only reruns on TV right now!!

Wonderland

I know I got this card in a swap but for the life of me I can't remember who from or where. (Dawn Klein just claimed this swap…thanks, Dawn!!)

I love the way the wreath was made with the Itty Bitty Accent Punch.

My Hawkeyes played their hearts out last night . . . they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.  If only the game could have ended 30 seconds earlier.

Now hopefully they will be able to go to the Rose Bowl.
