Happy Leap Day!!

Rose Garden

I am continuing with the beautiful Stampin' Up! birthday cards I received last week.  This one came from my friend, Luetta.

There are so many things that you can do with this set and the thinlits that coordinate with it.  And they all look so different.  It is a must have coordinating set!!

What are you planning on doing with your extra day this year???  Of course I plan to spend the majority of it in my craft room.   I am going to continue to work on things for my upcoming craft show this weekend and also finish gathering things for the "Tin of Cards" class that is tonight.  It is almost ready to go, just needs to be loaded in the car!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Butterfly Basics

Here is another one of the birthday cards made with Stampin' Up! product that I received for my birthday this week.

My stamping friend, Sandi, sent this one to me.  I love the bright springy color combination.

Supper at Olive Garden last night was delicious, despite the wait.  I guess there is a wait anytime you go out for supper on a Saturday night!!  And the best news is that I have leftovers for supper tonight.  John is going to a wild game feed, so this works out perfectly.

I am planning on spending the day in my stamping room, with the exception of a couple of hours to watch the Hawkeyes play basketball.  I certainly hope they play better than they have been!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!!

Happy Stamping!!

Rose Garden

I received this beautiful card from my stamping friend, Luetta, after I let her borrow this set and framelits.

It is very similar to one we did at stamp night last week.  It is always amazing to me how a little different placement and color of the sentiment can make such a difference in the looks of a card.

I can't believe how nice it is supposed to be today . . . maybe spring really is around the corner.  Julie and Jason will be picking us up later today to go to Olive Garden for my birthday dinner.    I am not usually very good at picking where I would like to go for supper, but this year it was easy.  Pasta just sounded good!!

Evert day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Balloon Celebration

I have received many, many, really neat birthday cards this week.  Here is one made with Stampin' UP! products that I received from demonstrator friend, Dawn Klein.

I have this set, but is has yet to see any ink.  That will have to change soon!!!

I have actually spent my morning in my stamping room.  I could move this morning without wincing with every step so I decided to spend some time stamping.  I am sure I will be back to my heating pad later on today, but at least the end may be in sight!!  Good thing I had some books that I have been wanting to read!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Party Pants

Stampin' Up! released three new Sale-a-Bration products a couple of weeks ago.  Party Pants is one of those stamp sets and the washi tape is another one of the products.

This is one of the cards that every one stamping this week made.  I love the sparkly washi tape!!

Stamps:  Party Pants
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Hello Honey, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Balloon Bouquet Punch, Decorative Label Punch,
1" Square Punch, Mettalics Glitter Tape, Linen Thread,
Stampin' Dimensionals

My heating pad and I had a period of separation today as it was my volunteer morning at Hospice.  However, our date continued as soon as I got home.  I think I am spending one more day taking it easy, before I give up and go to the doctor.  If it is not better tomorrow, an appointment will be made!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Going Global

This is an awesome card that everyone got to make this week.  It was a shoebox swap that stamper friend, Betty Striefel, brought in January to our stamping day.

The Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack has such awesome designs that mix and match well together!!

Stamps:  Going Global, A Dozen Thoughts
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla, Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink:  Archival Black, Versamark
Accessories:  Stars Framelits, Big Shot, Black Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Banner Triple Punch, Itty Bitty Accesnts Punch Pack,

My heating pad and I are going to continue our date again today!!  At least I can move today without wincing every time I get up or want to change directions.  I may even try stamping a little this afternoon.  We shall see what the morning brings!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Rose Garden

Sympathy cards are something I always like to just keep on hand and this one is super simple to make a stack of to have when you need it.

This is also one of the cards everyone stamping last night got to make.  Switch out the greeting and you have a great card for any occasion.

Stamps:  Rose Garden, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock:  Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Ink:  So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Archival Black
Accessories:  Rose Garden Thinlits, Big Shot, Stampin' Sponges

There is not much on the agenda at the Wilson household today.  I think I will be taking it easy and having a date with my heating pad as my back has still not recovered from it's snow scooping escapade a week ago.  By the time I got home last night I could hardly move, so I decided it would be good to rest it today!!  Hopefully it will be good to go tomorrow!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Picture Perfect

When I saw the many gorgeous cards made with the Picture Perfect stamp set I oohed and ached over them, but thought they would be very difficult to make.

However, if you pay attention to the little notches on the top of the photopolymer stamps, they are really easy to use.  I love how this humming bird turned out!!

Stamps: Picture Perfect
Cardstock:  Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Archival Basic Black

Since I had gotten everything ready for stamp night before I left last Friday, all that remains is to load it in the car and I am ready for tonight.  Kind of scares me that I am organized early because that is a sure sign that I am going to forget something!!

Hopefully the weather is as nice as it looks out my front window.  Now that I have gotten a taste of warmer temperatures, I am really anxious for spring!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Number of Years

Again, the inspiration for this card came from Pinterest.  I love the way the balloons have been punched out to make the background!!

I don't use these word thinlits nearly enough.  I need to keep them out where I remember that I have them.  I love the font!!

Stamps:  Number of Years
Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick, Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink:  Archival Basic Black
Accessories:  Large Number Framelit Dies, Hello You Thinlits,
Big Shot, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Linen Thread,
White Gel Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals

This is one of the cards that everybody will be making this week at Make-It-Monday.  If you would like to join us just shoot me an email and tell me you are coming!!

Apple of My Eye

Here is the last of the many cards I made while I had "Apple of My Eye" sitting on my stamping table.  This card reminds me of spring and summer and I can't wait!!

This would really look better with some Calypso Coral Thick Baker's Twine, but I didn't happen to have any so I used some retired Cantaloupe Crisp instead. You can bet the Calypso Coral twine went on my next order!!

Stamps:  Apple of My Eye
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Tangelo Twist, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron
Accessories:  1 3/4" Circle Punch, Thick Baker's Twine,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

We had a very successful day of shopping yesterday and are headed out for another one today!!  Good company, good times, good food . . . what could be better!!  The only casualty of the day was Hanna taking a tumble on the streets of Omaha as we were walking to supper.  I cannot say enough good about the staff at Spaghetti Works as they very quickly got her some ice and made sure she was okay once we got to the restaurant.  I was also quite impressed with many of the young people who either stayed with us on the street as we made sure she was okay or stopped to see if they could help.  There are good people in the world!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Easter Lamb

Today's card comes from Pinterest again.  This cute little lamb stamp comes with the greeting "Happy Easter" underneath the lamb.

I cut the two apart because I thought the lamb was so cute and could be used for many more occasions than just Easter.

Stamps:  Easter Lamb
Cardstock:  Lost Lagoon, Calypso Coral, Whisper White,
Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Old Olive Markers
Accessories:  Circle Collection Framelits, Big Shot,
2 1/2" Circle Punch, Banner Triple Punch,
Calypso Coral Seam Binding, Stampin' Dimensionals

By the time many of you read this we should be well on our way to pick Hanna up  and head on over to Omaha for our Girls' Weekend of shopping.  That is if we don't blow away first . . . the wind is really howling and strong right now.  My bags are packed and sitting by the door just waiting for Julie to come and pick me up.  This has become somewhat of a tradition . . . our gift to ourselves for surviving February!!

Apple of My Eye

Here is another very clean and simple card I made while I had Apple of My Eye on my stamp table.

I am certainly glad I went ahead and got this set, because I have seen some very cute cards made with it.

Stamps:  Apple of My Eye
Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories:  Stampin' Dimensionals, 1/2" Circle Punch

My schedule has gotten rearranged this week so today is my Hospice volunteer morning.  After stopping on my way home for a hair appointment, I need to get a dessert made for my community meeting tonight.  Sometime I need to find time to pack, because bright and early tomorrow morning Julie is picking me up so we can go get Hanna and continue on to Omaha for our girls' weekend of shopping.  Hopefully we can find some good bargains . . . if not I know we will have a good time anyway!!

Birthday Blooms

I am loving the new Watermelon Wonder ribbon that is in the Occasions Catalog.  It is an awesome color and feels and lays so nicely.

Yes, I did fussy cut out that flower!!  Nor sure how many of them I would want to do, but I am really pleased with the results on the card.

Stamps:  Birthday Blooms
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper
Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Watermelon Wonder
Accessories:  Triple Banner Punch, Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon

It has been a slow start around the Wilson household today.  I started reading late last night and read into the wee hours of the morning so decided to sleep in today.  Those that know me, know that this is not typical of me, but I sure did enjoy my book last night!!

 Apple of My Eye

Yesterday was certainly more fun than today has been.  Yesterday I got to spend the day creating . . . today I shoveled snow!!  It has been many years since I have shoveled our walk and I hope it is many more years before I do it again!!

Since I had this set sitting on my stamping table left over from Stamp Class last Monday night, I decided to make several cards with it that I will be sharing in the upcoming days!!

Stamps:  Apple of My Eye
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink:  Archival basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush
Accessories:  1 3/4" Circle Punch, Linen Thread,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

I am meeting my friend, Luetta, for lunch today.  It is a no school day because of President's Day so we decided lunch would be in order.  I probably should start getting things ready for a craft show I have coming up the first weekend in March, so maybe that will be on the agenda when I get home.  This is a pretty busy week here, so I may just relax when I get home.  It is good to have choices!!

Hello Life

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Here is one of my favorite valentines that I have made over the yard.  It is so simple and I love red, black and white together for Valentine's Day!!

I guess you could say I am totally a traditionalist when it comes to holiday colors!!

Stamps:  Hello Life
Cardstock:  Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum Cardstock
Ink:  Real Red, Archival Basic Black
Accessories:  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack,
Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Sitting here watching the snow fall and the wind blow makes me exceptionally glad that I do not need to go anywhere today!!  Now that I don't have to get out in the bad weather to go to work, it makes it that much harder to even think about going out when it is snowing.

John and I had thought about going to Red Lobster for dinner tonight on Valentine's Day, but it can wait.  We can celebrate any time we want to when it will be better on the roads.  We will probably spend today like we do many days . . . him in his painting room and me in my craft room!!  Life doesn't get much better as long as you are together!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Apple of My Eye

Here is the last card that everyone that stamped this week made.

It is another one that we made a couple of weeks ago at a swap and was brought by fellow demonstrator, Christy Kimball.  I didn't think I needed this set when it first came out but as you can see I have changed my mind!!

Stamps:  Apple of My Eye
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Go Wild Designer Series Paper Pack
Ink:  Basic Black, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories:  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch,
3/8" Basic Black Stitched Ribbon,
1/4" White Cotton Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

John and I decided we wanted to go out for breakfast this morning and then I decided I had better go get some groceries in case it really does snow tomorrow.  Once again, we can be snowed in for a while and won't starve.  My stamping room is now calling my name for the next two and a half days!!

Tin of Cards Class

Be sure and mark your calendars for Monday night, February 29th as I am adding a special class this month . . . The Tin of Cards Class.  We will be meeting at Culver's in Iowa City on this evening.

This fun printed tin gives you plenty of room to store the cards you make in the kit, plus room for more. You will make 16 cards, 4 each of 4 designs.

In the class you will receive the Tin of Cards Project Kit and all the supplies to make the 16 cards shown as well as the tin.  I am offering two options for the class.

Option #1  $32 . . . you will receive the supplies to make the cards and the tin.  I will supply the stamps, ink, and any other card stock you need.
Option #2  $60 . . . you will receive supplies to make the cards and the tin, the Tin of Cards Stamp Set, and an ink pad of your choice. This option also allows you to choose one Sale-A-Bration selection of your choice and earns yoga spot on the 50/50 board.
All  you need to bring with with option is your adhesive and scissors.

Please RSVP by Thursday, February 18th.  I will need a firm commitment so I can get the supplies ordered.  When RSVPing, please tell me which option you would like.  If it is Option #2, I also need to know what color ink you would like and your Sale-a-Bration selection.

I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon so you can make this fun and exciting kit!!

Rose Wonder

Check out another one of the cards everybody made this week at Make-It-Monday.

This card was brought to our Stamping Saturday by fellow demonstrator, Dawn Klein.

Cardstock:  Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink:  Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories: Rose Garden Thinlit Dies, Aquapainter,

Today has been one of those days where things don't quite go according to plan.  I had a dental appointment at 7:45 for a routine cleaning.  They found a couple of cavities and could actually get me in to get them fixed at 11:00 so I ran some errands in between. Now five hours later than I was planning, I am sitting in my chair with a totally numb mouth drinking coffee with a straw and writing my blog post. You know you really want a cup of coffee if you will use a straw.

Botanicals For You

Today's card is one everybody stamping this week gets to make.  They were all amazed Monday night how each and every card came out so totally differently!!

This was Lisa Irving's card swap at our demonstrator meeting a couple of weeks ago.  I loved the color combination so decided to use it just exactly as it was!!

Ink:  Versamark,
Night of Navy, Island Indigo, and Tempting Turquoise Reinkers
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, AquaPainter,

Today is the day!!!  Yes, it will really happen today!!  I love my Christmas tree and decorations so much that I just hate to take them down!!  But since Valentine's Day is this weekend, all good things must come to an end so Christmas will be going away until next Thanksgiving!!  I know . . . I am a total nut, but I would probably leave them up all year if I could!!

Enjoy the Little Things

Everybody stamping this week will be making one of these bright and cheery cards.

There are many other sentiments in this set, but I bought it primarily for this saying right here.  It goes along with my philosophy of life being a gift . . . you need to stop and enjoy all of the little things along the way.  Pinterest was once again the inspiration for this card.

Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick, Watermelon Wonder,
Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (SAB item)
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder
Accessories:  Watermelon Wonder 1" Satin Stitched Ribbon,

Since I actually have everything ready for Make-It-Monday tonight, I think I will work on a couple of other class project ideas that I have.  Looking at the cold and blowing snow, I am certainly okay with waiting to get out in it tonight!!

Stamp/Technique clubs are forming for another round.  We are going to continue with the same format as we have been using.
  • - Each month we will learn two new techniques (make a greeting card and an instruction card for each of the techniques).
  • -In lieu of a class fee, you place a $25 minimum order of merchandise from the current Stampin' Up! catalogs each month.
  • -Each month we will rotate who is the "Hostess" and they will receive the hostess benefits for that month.  Hostess benefits will be for the minimum $150 party which is $15.  (Unless you collect other orders/payment to increase your benefits).  In the month that you are Hostess you may increase your workshop total by gathering outside orders or by hosting a stamp party for friends at your home in addition to our club event.
  • -Bring your favorite adhesive & paper snips (scissors).  All other supplies will be provided.
  • -We meet the first Thursday night of the month at Culver's in Iowa City between 5:30 and 6:00, usually a little earlier depending on work schedules.
If you do not live close or don't think you can meet every month, don't let that stop you.  You can still be part of the group and I can mail your projects to you with your purchases for the month.  As soon as we get enough people we will get started!!  Be part of one of these clubs, learn some new stamping techniques, meet some new friends, and get some great stampin' products!!
