Petal Palette

Gray and yellow . . . . who knew such a color combination could be so cool.  I guess I should have know because Hanna has had several accessories for her apartments using this color scheme!!

I think my Monday night stampers definitely got their fill of coloring as four out of the six cards had coloring on them.  But how can you not color when you have the awesome Stampin' Blends!!

Stamps: Petal Palette
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Basic Gray
Accessories: Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo Pack,
Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends

Wow . . . it is amazing what a full night's sleep will do for you.  I went to the doctor yesterday and got another cortisone shot in my shoulder and I feel like a new person!!  Little to no pain at all again!!  Maybe now I will REALLY feel like cleaning in my stamp room so that it is usable again!!

Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper

This card, which came from a blog I follow, Stamp With Amy, was definitely a hit last night.  I think it is safe to say that the everybody likes this Sale-a-Bration item.  Even if you don't like to color, the effort is worth it!!

I haven't really found a color combination that I do not like!!  The warmer temperatures, the sunshine, and the soft pinks and greens in the card make me think that spring really might be on the way!!

Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White (inside), Copper Foil
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Foils
Ink: Dark Pink Pirouette and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends
Accessories: Celebrate You Thinlit Dies, Big Shot,

As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door for a doctor's appointment.  When I am done I plan to do a little shopping and deliver some stamping items.  As nice as the forecast is, I even took some steaks out of the freezer to grill for supper tonight.  I can't wait for it to be this nice all of the time!!

Waterfront

I think I might have mentioned a time or two how much I love the new Sale-a-Bration item . . . the Springtime Foils Designer Series paper.  It is a thicker DSP and accepts color quite well.  It is pretty on its own, but I really do like coloring it in.

My friend, Susie, had a card on her blog the other day with a beautiful colored ribbon and I thought . . . "I don't remember that ribbon in the catalog."  I read a little further and saw where she colored the white or vanilla metallic edge ribbon with the Stampin' Blends to make a variety of colors.  I thought that would be perfect for this card.

Stamps: Waterfront
Cardstock: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White (for inside), Silver Glimmer
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Foils
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Big Shot,
Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker, Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend,
Whisper White Metallic Edge Ribbon,
Pretty Label Punch, 2 1/4" Circle Punch,
Tear and Tape, Stampin' Dimensionals

The cardstock is cut, the packets are ready, and the baskets are packed waiting to be loaded into the car.  I think I am ready for tonight!!  I just hope I remembered everything.  I did things in a little different order this time, so we will hope for the best!!!

Playful Backgrounds

This fun birthday card is one everybody will be making tomorrow night at Make-It-Monday.   The colors I have used here look more like a guy card, but change it out with purples and pinks and you have a fun card for a girl!!

I sometimes forget about all of the awesome sets that are in the Annual Idea Book and Catalog in my excitement of the seasonal ones.  I need to not do that anymore!!

Stamps: Playful Backgrounds, Perennial Birthday
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist, Dapper Denim
Accessories: 2" Circle Punch, Lemon Lime 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was an awesome birthday.  I visited my friend in the hospital, came home and stamped for a little while, and then John and I went out for Chinese for supper.  We are continuing to celebrate today as our daughter and son-in-law are picking us up this evening to go to Iowa City for supper.  I do need to finish getting everything ready for tomorrow night sometime in here!!  I am sure it will get done.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Petal Palette

The Springtime Foil Designs Series Paper is just as pretty uncolored as it is colored in!!!  This is another one of the cards that I took to our shoebox swap night for Paper Pals.

This card is SO easy to make but looks so elegant!!!  As many weddings as I have this spring and summer, maybe I should make a huge batch of them!!

Stamps: Petal Palette
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Copper Foil
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Foils
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Copper Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Gold Faceted Gems

I did not want to see more white stuff on the roads when I woke up this morning!!!!  I am so ready for spring!!  I had planned to go to Iowa City today to see a friend in the hospital and just be out an about running a few errands. We shall see . . . it is supposed to get up to 40 degrees this afternoon so I may just postpone my trip till this afternoon.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Southern Serenade

For a short month . . . . I know a slew of people that have birthdays in February!!  So . . . I sat one night watching the Olympics and colored in flowers with my Stampin' Blends.  I love how this card turned out!!

I hope the recipients liked it as much as I do!!  With a quick change out of sentiment it would work for many other occasions.

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Basic Black, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Foils
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Copper Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Starburst Punch,
2" Circle Punch, Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Combo Pack,
Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo Pack,
Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon

It is certainly nice to see the sun after the last few rainy, foggy days.  I should think of somewhere to go or something to do, but that is not happening.  So I guess it is laundry and dishes!!

Celebrate You

I've been out gallivanting around and totally forgot about posting a card today!!    This celebrate card is one I took to our Paper Pals night last night. There is not actual stamping on the card, but I love it anyway!!

I knew I would use my Stampin' Blends a lot but I didn't think I would use them as much as I have.  They are absolutely awesome on the new Sale-a-Bration product . . . the Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper.

Cardstock: Old Olive, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Springtime Foils
Accessories: Celebrate You Thinlits, Big Shot,
Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo Pack,
Clear Faceted Gems, Fine Tip Glue Pen

Today I was planning on picking up some jewelry in Washington before meeting some friends for lunch.  I was so concerned about the weather and roads, I totally forgot about my blog post.  The good news is I got to Washington, picked up the jewelry, had an awesome lunch and visit, and am now home in the comfort of my recliner with my blanket . . . nice and warm. The roads were not an issue at all!!

I was planning on stamping some this afternoon and evening but then realized that the women's ice skating finals are on, so I guess that is what I will be doing instead!

Southern Serenade

The last of the cards direct from On-Stage . . . and I think my favorite!!  A card within a card!!  It has been forever since I used cardstock Vellum . . . I clearly need to use it more!!!

I think the lacy looking stamp is my favorite in this set and the white embossing really makes it pop!!!

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Vellum
Designer Series Paper: Delightful daisy
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Versamark, Calypso Coral and Old Olive Markers,
Blender Pens, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Pretty Label Punch, Shimmer Pack Ribbon,
Pearl Basic Jewels

Two books!!!  That is what I did yesterday . . . I read two books . . . it was such a gray and rainy day that curling up with a good book seemed like an awesome idea!!  So I curled up with two of them.  So that means today I need to get busy and figure out what I am going to do for tonight's monthly shoebox group.  I have some ideas . . . I just need to play around with them a little bit and then get all of my cardstock cut and ready to go!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Southern Serenade

Here is another one of the cards that came direct from the presentation at On Stage and that we made last night at "Stamp With Me".

The top part of the flower bunch has been fussy cut with paper snips and the bottom stem part has been die cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.  I love the way it turned out!!

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Black Archival Ink, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst
Accessories: layering Circle Framelits, Big Shot,
Paper Snips, Blender Pens, Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I think we lucked out here in Wellman with the rain/freezing rain that is covering a lot of the state.  One of the things I still do every morning is look at the school closings and there sure are a lot of them this morning.  Today is the day I AM going to get my stamping stuff cleaned off the kitchen table and try to get some semblance of order in my stamping room.  At least I hope I am!!

Picture Perfect Birthday

This birthday card is the last of the cards to share with you from last week's stamp night.  It is a super simple birthday card!!

Once again the inspiration for this card came from my time surfing the net, but again, I don't remember where I saw it!!

Stamps: Picture Perfect Birthday
Cardstock: Bermuda bay, Berry Burst, Whisper White
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, So Saffron
Accessories: Tutti Frutti Adhesive Backed Sequins

Wow . . . yesterday was a quiet day at the Wilson household.  John left at 5:00 AM to go to Illinois with a friend to a duck decoy show and got home just in time to go to the wild game feed here at home at the local recreation center.  Needless to say when he got home from that he was tired . . . so went right to bed.  I stamped, read, watched the Olympics, and stamped, read, and watched the Olympics.

Today I need to finish getting things ready for the Southern Serenade stamp night tonight.  Before that class I am meeting a friend to help her design her wedding invitations.  I am glad to see that we are just getting rain, rather than freezing rain!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Southern Serenade

I can't wait until tomorrow night when everyone will be making cards with the Southern Serenade stamp set.  This is another one of the cards we will be making that comes directly from the presenter at On Stage in November.

The yellow and black in this card certainly do make me think of spring and spring flowers!!

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Quilt Top Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Daffodil Delight dark Stampin' Blends,
Old Olive Light Stampin' Blends, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

Wow . . . yesterday's shopping trip was exciting.  The unexpected snow and slick roads kind of played havoc with our plans.  We did some of our shopping and came out of the store to find quite a bit of snow and very slick roads.  We saw a couple of accidents and heard lots of sirens so we decided we would eat lunch and wait out the snow as it was suppose to move out of the area by early afternoon.  Our plan worked pretty well as our ride home was on clear roads and sunshine most of the way home.  The gravel roads were still a little slick but we made it.  And the best news . . . we got everything on our lists and had a great lunch!!

Party Pandas

Back again with a super simple card made with Party Pandas.  I just love these little guys!!  They make the perfect kid's birthday card!!

They pretty much do all of the work for you because they don't need a lot of coloring or extra work!!

Stamps: Party Pandas
Cardstock: Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise,
Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist
Accessories: Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise Markers

This weekend looks like it is going to be awesome weatherwise . . . so different from last weekend.  I am going shopping and out to lunch with my friend, Luetta, today.  I have nothing I am shopping for  . . .  just going to enjoy being out an about!!

Southern Serenade

Here is a close up look at one of the cards we will be making Monday night at the Southern Serenade stamp night.  As I said before this is a direct copy of the card I saw at convention in November.

I love the way that the flower is stamped directly onto the designer series paper.  I don't often think of stamping on to this paper.

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry Very Vanilla (inside)
Designer Series Paper: Wood Texture
Ink: memento Black
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Combo Pack Stampin' Blends,
Old Olive Combo Pack Stampin' Blends,
Very Vanilla 1/2 lace trim, Copper Trim,
Linen Thread, Glue Dots

I cannot believe how much of the snow we have lost out of our diriveway  . . . it is hard to believe we were snowed in last Saturday and Sunday!!!  I'll take this over the snow any day!!  I am hoping to get to Washington to pick up my new ring today and then come home and do a little stamping and finish my book.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Petal Palette

This card, which everyone made Monday night, also comes from the Creative Corner site.  You might recognize this card as I made a similar one without color here as a sympathy card.  I love the stepped up version.

There are so many awesome images in this Petal Palette stamp set and they work well together or on their own.  Their are several sentiments as well in the set . . . a good all purpose stamp set.

Stamps: Petal Palette
Cardstock: Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Petal Passion
Ink: Memento Black Ink
Accessories: Pool Party Light Stampin' Blends, 2" Circle Punch,
Starburst Punch, Leaf Punch, Delicate White Doilies,
Clear Wink of Stella, Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon,
Basic Rhinestone Heels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday John and I decided to go out for a Valentine's lunch rather than waiting for supper.  To say lunch was a disaster would be putting it mildly.  We both ordered salads . . . nothing that takes any cooking at all.  After waiting 45 minutes for our food and seeing everyone around us who had come in after us receive their lunches we inquired what was taking so long.  We were told they were busy and it wouldn't be long.  When we pointed out that everyone around who had come in after us had their lunches they went to see what was taking so long.  Surprise . . . there were our salads.   Hmmm...things that make go "What?".  Needless to say it will be a while before we go back there.

We did end up taking a drive since it was a nice day and ended up at our favorite jewelry store in Washington.  John had been wanting me to get a new ring for a while so we picked out a very nice one.  I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow!!  As a bonus I found an awesome necklace and pair of earrings for the wedding that will compliment my dress nicely.

It was nice to get out and stretch our eyeballs for a bit . . . I for one am ready for spring!!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Party Pandas

I am absolutely loving these Party Pandas.  I think I read somewhere that this is the most popular Sale-a-Bration set this year and I can certainly see why. They are just so cute!!!!

This layout would work great for a birthday card as well with a quick change out of color, sentiment and use the balloon punch for a bunch of balloons.

Stamps: Party Pandas (Sale-a-Bration), Eastern Beauty
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories: Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies,
Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Stampin' Dimensionals

Boy . . . did we loose a lot of our snow yesterday.  I am anticipating losing even more today and tomorrow!!  We might actually be able to walk around our vehicles without sinking into a huge pile of snow!!  Other than watching the Olympics and hopefully going out to eat for Valentine's Day, there is not much on the agenda.  I will probably finish stamping up the leftover kits from Monday night and that is about it!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Epic Celebrations

Here is another one of the cards everybody made last night.  Again the inspiration came from the Creative Corner site I belong to.

I didn't really think I needed this set because at first it didn't appeal to me at all.  But since it is a Sale-a-Bration set and was free I thought why not??  I am now glad I have it because I have seen some pretty awesome cards made with it!!

Stamps: Epic Celebrations
Cardstock: Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Bubles & Fizzb
Ink: Memento Black, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Combo Pack,
Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend, 2" Circle Punch,
2 1/4" Circle punch, Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon,
Stamps' Dimensionals

Wow . . . we might be having a heat wave today . . . almost 30 degrees.  That sure will feel nice. I have a couple of errands to run this morning but otherwise a pretty low key day.  I hope to get a little stamping done this afternoon, but that is about it!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Perennial Birthday

One of the groups  I belong to, Creative Corner,  is run by other demonstrators and has inspiration for cards and classes.  This is one of the cards that came from there.

I love the color combination of Calypso Coral and Basic Gray.  This is also one of the cards everyone will be making tonight at Make-It-Monday.

Stamps: Perennial Birthday
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Tutti Frutti
Ink: Basic Gray, Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Delicate White Doilies, 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon Pack

Wow . . . we finally got our driveway dug out about 3:30 yesterday afternoon.  It was amazing how much better I felt after it was done. Not that I wanted or needed to go anywhere, but there was no way I could.  Once I knew I was not housebound anymore, I immediately felt better.  When I got to thinking about it I had only left the house once since I got home from Des Moines last weekend.  That is definitely not me!!!  I would not make a very good candidate for living in Alaska or some other place where they get snowed in all the time!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

February 11, 2018

Southern Serenade

I just had to make some other cards with the Southern Serenade set after getting the Stamp With Me class cards made.  I always say I don't need another flower set, but this one is so pretty and I love the font on the sentiments.

This is one of the cards everyone stamping with me tomorrow night will be making.

Stamps: Southern Serenade
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Berry Burst, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: memento Black Ink, Pink Pirouette,
Light Pink Pirouette and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends,
Melon Mambo Marker
Accessories: Berry Burst metallic Edge Ribbon

I have seen about all of the snow I want to see for this winter.  We got another 2-3 inches here again last night.  I think that is good enough!!

Today has been spent trying to figure out what I want to do for tomorrow night and getting all of the cardstock cut and ready to go.   I am not moving very fast . . . I think the cold and snow has really slowed me down . . . I would rather be hibernating!!!

High Tide

High Tide has to be one of my favorite stamp sets in the annual Idea Book and Catalog.  I love everything about it and it can be used for so many occasions.

Paired here with the sentiment from Rose Wonder, I think it makes the perfect sympathy card (not that sympathy cards are perfect, but a needed thing).  I used the thinlit from the Up & Away Thinlits set to make a stencil so I could sponge the clouds.

Stamps: High Tide, Rose Wonder
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Basic Gray, Pool Party
Ink: Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Marina Mist, Whisper White
Accessories: Up & Away Thinlits, Big Shot, Stampin' Sponges

Holy cow . . . I have not seen this much snow on the ground in our area for a long time . . . I know it has been at least five years because we have not needed to have our driveway bladed since I retired!!!  I have spent the morning trying to find someone that could come and do it!!  Thanks to the many recommendations from friends on Facebook we do have someone coming.  He chuckled at me when he asked if I had a timeframe I wanted it done in and I said just sometime before Monday afternoon so I can get to stamp night!!  Once again our neighbor to the south went down our sidewalk with his little tractor so I didn't have to shovel that!!  Today and tomorrow look like good days to stay home and craft!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Southern Serenade

When I was at convention in November there was a presentation on a class using this stamp set.  The presenter (Tina Rappe) does a class called "Stamp With Me and Get It Free".  These are the four cards she presented on stage.

They were awesome when I saw them on the screen in Utah, but they are even better in person after I made them myself!!

So . . . I have decided to offer this exact same class myself on Monday, February 19th.  You have two options for this class and you get the class free with either option.

Option 1

Purchase just the Southern Serenade stamp set and use my ink and supplies . . . COST-- $26.00

Option 2

Purchase the Southern Serenade stamp set, blender pens, and two packages of your choice of cardstock. . . COST—$59.00  This would earn you a Level 1 Sale-a-Bration stamp set and a square on the 50/50 Sale-a-Bration board.  Please be sure to let me know which Sale-a-Bration set you would like.

RSVP by Monday February 12th.

I am excited to be offering this class and hope to see you there.

Waterfront

Where oh where has the day gone!!!!  I have spent the day curled up with a blanket and a good book and can't believe I read the day totally away!!!!

This is one of the cards I made a while back for an order of sympathy cards.

The photopolymer stamp set is so easy to line up and to get the idea of a refection.

Stamps: Waterfront, Better Together
Cardstock: Basic Black, lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist

I am sitting here now watching the snowflakes fall at a fast pace, wondering just how much snow we will get.  Hanna and Jake are supposed to come this way tomorrow so that we can celebrate winter birthdays, but I have a feeling that celebration may be postponed!!!

I do need to get busy and decide what we are making on Monday night. Hopefully I can get that decided and made tomorrow.  I am sure I will have plenty of time because I doubt that I will be leaving the house!!
