Enjoy Life--Sneak Peek

I finally got my room purged enough that I decided it was time to sit down and actually stamp.  I had been saving ideas of cards I wanted to make and this is one of them from a blog called Stamp With Amy.

I not only love the name of this stamp set, but I love the images and the sentiments.  We all need to do more of this . . . enjoy life!!

Abstract Impressions

Back again with another Abstract Impressions sneak peek.

I saw this card several times on Pinterest and was intrigued by the color combination.  When I read a little further on some of the posts I saw that it was inspired by the Queen's clothes at the royal wedding.

I would say that Stampin' Up! is pretty spot on with their new color revamp and the combinations that go together perfectly.   I would never have thought to put this color combination together but I love it!!

Stamps: Abstract Impression (NEW)
Cardstock: Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape (NEW), Whisper White
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist, Gorgeous Grape (NEW), Mossy Meadow (RETURNING)
Accessories: Modern Label Punch (RETIRED), Stampin' Dimensionals

As often happens with my day, yesterday did not go as planned.  I ended up going up to the doctor for them to look at my eye.  It had bothering me since Friday, but I thought it was just allergies.  I decided that since nothing I was doing was working I would have them take a look at it.  Evidently there was a little speck of something stuck to the inner side of my eye lid that was irritating it.  They flushed that out and all is good now, but I did spend the afternoon sleeping instead of stamping.

I have good intentions today though!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

My Prayers and Blessings Journal

One of the Facebook groups I belong to, Creating For Christ, had a tutorial for this scrapbook/journal.  I knew the minute I saw it that it would be perfect for Hanna.

So, of course I had to make one.  I took a break from the invitations Saturday morning to get this made so I could give it to her yesterday when we stuffed the envelopes for her wedding invites.

All I needed was a 6 X 8 Kraft Memories and More Journal, some page protectors, and the Perfect day Memories and More Kit.

From my stamp room I needed Basic Black, Pool Party, and Whisper White cardstock.

I also used glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.

I was pretty pleased with he way it turned out and I think Hanna was as well.

She can use it either as as a journal for her upcoming trip to India, her honeymoon, or a daily journal after she gets married.

I only used part of the Memories and More Kit so I can add other pages as she goes along if she wishes.

I absolutely love this sentiment. . . . "It's the little moments that make life big."

Holy cow!!  I have no invites to finish, no thank you notes to make, and no classes coming up to plan for.  I think I am going to start to organize my stamp room with new things and sort stuff for my garage sale!!!  I may actually find time to stamp for fun today!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Watercolor Words

I am not exactly sure why . . . because I have been retired for five years now . . . but Memorial Day always seems like the beginning of summer and a much freer schedule.  And this year is no exception.  So this is the perfect card for today . . . Hooray . . . Summer is here!!

My friend, Crystal, brought this card to our monthly shoebox swap group back in April.  Since it is sort of red, white, and blue it also works great for Memorial Day.

Stamps: Watercolor Words
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Night of Navy

Done, Done, Done . . . I posted on Facebook yesterday that I am done with all 600 (629 to be exact) of the wedding invitations for the two summer weddings I have made in the last three weeks!!!  I am now anxious to get my stamp room all organized with all of the new stampin' products  I have gotten in the last little while.  That will have to wait until tomorrow however, because I am meeting Hanna and Jake in Grinnell and we are going to stuff all the invitations in envelopes and get them ready to mail this afternoon.

Painted Glass

Stampin' Blends are going to be so nice when it comes to using this stamp set . . . Painted Glass.   This Designer Vellum comes in a 6" X 6" pack of 24 assorted sheets.  They are all equally as awesome and give the look of a delicate stained glass window.

This was another one of the Make and Takes from On Stage in Milwaukee back in April.

ening!!
Stamps: Painted Glass (NEW)
Cardstock: Lovely Lipstick (NEW), Pineapple Punch (NEW), Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass Designer Vellum (NEW)
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Pineapple Punch Dark Stampin' Blends (NEW), Black 1/8" Cord (NEW)

Lunch and plant shopping was a huge success yesterday, although I came home with more than just plants.  But then that is usually the case.  When I got home I rested and then went to work on invitations again.  50 . . . only 50 invites are left to assemble.  That should be totally doable during the first few innings of the Cubs game this evening!!!!  Whatever shall I do when they are actually all done???

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Now looks like this!!!

Lauren's invitations have already been delivered and Hanna's just need to be belly banded together!!  Two Cubs games . . . tonight and tomorrow night . . . should do the trick.

I am taking a break from invitations today to go plant shopping and out to lunch with my friend Luetta (if she is reading this, I haven't called her yet!   LOL). I can't wait to get my back patio cleaned up so I can sit outside and enjoy it!!!

Celebrate You

I think I might have mentioned that I am on a mission to use my designer series paper, not just save it.  So when thinking about cards for last Monday night's stamp night, I kept that in mind.  Once again it was Pinterest to the rescue!!

This paper, called Coffee Break, has some awesome patterns in the pack. While I have used the paper with the coffee images some, I have used the side with the patterns much more.  I love the color combo on these dots and have used them on anything from baby cards to thinking of you cards.

Stamps: Celebrate You
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Coffee Break (Retiring)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Stitched Shaped Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits,
Big Shot, Soft Sky 3/8" Classic Weave Ribbon (Retiring),
Subtles Enamel Shapes (retiring), Stampin' Dimensionals

Wow . . . I think we missed spring all together.  I could not believe how warm and muggy it was yesterday and I think today is going to be more of the same. My day is pretty much a repeat of all of my last days . . . work on wedding invitations and watch the Cubs, and run errands.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

No Bones About It

Have you ever had a stamp set that you just had to have and then it sat on your stamp shelf unused . . . for a long time?  That is just the case with No Bones About It.  And since it is retiring at the end of the month I decided it was time to change that!!

This is another one of the cards that everyone made on Monday night.

Stamps: No Bones About it (Retiring)
Cardstock: Soft Sky (Retiring), Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi (Retiring), Tangerine Tango (Retiring),
Soft Sky (Retiring), Crushed Curry,

Yes . . . there is light at the end of the tunnel.  The wedding invitation tunnel that is!!

I think about three more days of working on them and I will have them all complete.  We added an embellishment the other day that added 1532 more stamped images and 760 punched out circles so that added a little to the time, but I still think I will be able to get them done to deliver to Hanna on Monday!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Truly Tailored

Guy stamp sets and designer series paper that I love don't come around that often and I will truly be sorry to see these two retire at the end of the month.

With Pinterest to the rescue again, everybody was able to make this card on Monday night.  So easy and the layout would work awesome for a feminine card with a quick chance out of colors and designer series paper.

Stamps: Truly Tailored (Retiring)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: True Gentlemen (Retiring)
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Garden Trellis Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Tailored Tag Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Wow . . . I am impressed with all that I got done on Hanna's invitations yesterday even with taking a couple of hours out for an appointment for my shoulder.  We also finally finished designing the finishing touches to tie them all together.  iPhones are wonderful for quickly sharing pictures or face-timing so it is like she is sitting right next to me.  I can't wait to show you all, but I should probably wait until she sends them out!!!

Love What You Do

I love it when you can take the same basic layout and some of the same supplies and make two totally different cards.  This card is the same layout as the one I posted here but looks totally different.  They both came from my Pinterest surfing.

This was another one of the cards everyone made last night.  It was fun to see how they all turned out differently depending on how and where they applied the sponge daubers.  No two were alike but they all turned out great.

Stamps: Love What You Do  (New)
Cardstock: Soft Sky (Retiring), Sweet Sugarplum (Retiring), Whisper White
Ink: Soft Sky (Retiring), Sweet Sugarplum (Retiring), Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Lovely Floral Embossing Folder (New), Big Shot,
Sponge Daubers, Sweet Sugarplum 3/8" Striped Ribbon

As soon as I am done posting this I am off to my stamp room for a date with my paper cutter.  I am hoping to get all of Hanna's detail cards and backing cardstock cut today so I can start to put them together tonight while again watching the Cubs.  It sure is a good thing that I like baseball!!  I think I got my love of it from my mom.   Many afternoon when I would stop to visit in the summer she would be watching afternoon baseball listening to Harry Carey. Good memories!!!

Butterfly Basics

I have decided not to be so much of a designer paper hoarder but more of a designer paper user.  This card, which comes from a bog I follow, Stamping With Georgia, definitely uses designer series paper.  This paper is especially pretty with this layout because of the sparkle of the paper, but it would work with any two coordinating patterns of paper.

Everybody stamping tonight will be making this card.

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Whisper White, Champagne Foil
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Soiree
Accessories: Versamark, Silver Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon,
Starburst Punch, 2" Circle Punch,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I did it . . . I got all 379 of the actual wedding invites done yesterday afternoon.  Now all that is left to do is cut the inserts with other information on them, and put them all together with a decorative belly band.  That might actually take longer than the actual invites.  I hope not, but there are a lot of ball games this week so I have plenty of work time.

We ended up the day by going out to eat with Julie and Jason for a belated Mother's Day celebration.  Red Lobster is always a good choice!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Love What You Do

Have I mentioned how much I love this bundle . . . Share What You Love?? And not just because it is availabe right now as a sneak peek special!!

This is one of the cards everyone will be making tomorrow night at Make-It-Monday.  The embossing folder is super cool!!

Stamps: Love What You Do (NEW)
Cardstock: Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Share What You Love Specialty Paper (NEW)
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Layering Ovals Framelits,
Lovely Floral Embossing Folder (NEW), Big Shot,
3/8" Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon (Retiring),
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy busy stamping day.  I spent the morning and the time between ball games cutting cardstock and getting everything ready for tomorrow night.  I am happy to say it was just the right amount of time!!

This was my sight for the ball games.  I set up a little table in the living room in front of the TV so I could work in comfort instead of sitting on the floor.  I made great progress on these.  The fact that the first game went into extra innings was advantageous.  All paper is cut and embossed and about a quarter of them are assembled.  I hope to finish all of them during the Cubs game today!!

Love What You Do

Mint Macaron was one of my favorite In-Colors a while back and I was sorry to see it go.  I am so glad that they decided to bring it back as a core color.  I am sure I will use it a lot!!  The Share What You Love Designer Specialty Designer Paper looks great with it!!

This is another one of the samples that was made at On Stage at the beginning of April.

Stamps: Love What You Do
Cardstock: Mint Macaron, Whosper White, Vellum
Designer Series Paper: Share What You Love
Ink: Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tode
Accessories: Share What You Love Artisan Pearls,
Pearlized Doilies, Nature's Twine Blackberry Bliss,
Everyday Label Punch, 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon,
Stampin' Dimensionals

I made great headway on Hanna's invitations last evening while watching the baseball game.  I was also able to do a little bit of other stamping as well. This morning I am planning on getting cardstock cut and ready to go for Monday night's stamp night, since this afternoon and this evening is a Cubs double header.  I should be able to make a lot of progress on Hanna's cards with 6+ hours of baseball to watch.  Two of my favorite things paired together . . . what could be better for a Saturday!!

Rooted In Nature Sneak Peek

The New Idea Book and Catalog has SO many awesome new stamps, ink, and accessories.  This card that we made in Milwaukee showcases just a few of them.

I love love love the designer series paper that goes along with this stamp set. I can see a lot of cards with it in my future.

Stamps: Rooted In Nature (NEW)
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Grapefruit Grove (NEW), Mint Macaron (NEW), Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Nature's Poem (NEW)
Ink: Soft Suede, Tranquil Tide
Accessories: Nature's Roots Framelits, Big Shot,
Nature's Twine (NEW), Leaves  Trinkets (NEW),
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Where have I been the last four days you might ask.  John and I took some time and went to visit his brother and sister-in-law in southern Missouri.  We had no internet access while we were there so therefore no new blog posts. We got back yesterday afternoon and spent the rest of the day resting after our seven hour drive.

Today after a trip to the grocery store I am going to get started on Hanna's wedding invitations.  My hope is to get the cardstock all cut so that this evening during the Cubs game (provided they don't get rained out) I can do the embossing and start to assemble them.  We have moved up the time table for sending them out so they need to be ready to go by Memorial Day.

Everyday is a gift . . . make the most o9f the gift you have been given today!!

Love What You Do

I can tell already that this stamp set is going to get a lot of use in the coming months.  Not only do I like the images, I love the sentiments.

I also love using my clear block as stamps to make a background.

Stamps: Lov
Cardstock: Love What You Do
Ink:  Basic Black
Accessories: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight Markers,
Clear Block C, Stampin' Spritzer

Yesterday was a huge success.  We got a washer and dryer delivered to Hanna and Jake's house thanks to some very generous friends.  I got the invitations to Lauren's wedding delivered and picked up the last of the printed material for Hanna's invites.  We found John a suit, shirt, tie, and suspenders for the wedding this summer.  John found a new pair of cowboy boots that he had been wanting.  And most importantly . . . we had a wonderful time with all of the kids!!

You've Got This

You've Got This has been one of my favorite stamp sets since it was first released in an annual catalog several years ago.  I am thinking this is one stamp set that will stay in my personal stash of stamp sets for quite a while.

This is one of the cards that I forgot to post that everyone made a while back at a Make-It-Monday.

Stamps: You've Got This (retiring)
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla
Ink: Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Banner Triple Punch, Linen Thread,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today was a day that was supposed to be packed with scheduled things and because of one reason or another, they have been rescheduled or cancelled so now I have a whole day to do what ever I wish.  I am thinking since it is raining that I will probably spend it in my stamping room (I know . . . big shock) and then finish up the last few invites for Lauren's wedding while watching the Cubs this evening (I now . . . another shock).  The days all seem to be somewhat the same but I am enjoying them and I think that is what counts.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Love What You Do

Here is another sneak peek of products from the new catalog that are actually available right now!!!  This same card was one I made with my friend, Susie, a couple of weeks ago with different designer series paper.

It was fun watching people at Make-It-Monday decide which side of the paper they wanted to use because they are all pretty!!

Stamps: Love What You Do
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Very Vanilla (for inside), Shimmery White
Designer Series Paper: Share What You Love
Ink:  Basic Black (retiring)
Accessories:  Leaf Punch, Tailored Tag Punch,
Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine, Petal Passion Embellishments (retiring),

Wow . . . nothing on my calendar that has to be done today!!!  I will probably spend a good portion of the day in my stamp room stamping on whatever I like and I may actually sit outside and read this afternoon.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Petal Palette

This  card, which features the retiring designer series paper, Sweet Soiree, comes from the stamping site I belong to, Creative Corner.  I love all of the bling and shiny accents on the paper.  The bonus is that it is on sale while supplies last!!

This is another one of the cards everyone made on Monday night.  It makes an awesome card without a lot of work because the paper does it for you!!

Stamps: Petal Palette
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Soiree (retiring)
Ink: Basic Gray, (retiring)
Accessories: Banner Triple Punch, Pretty Label Punch,
Delicate White Doilies (retiring) 1/8" Silver Ribbon

As soon as I am done posting this I am heading out the door for an appointment and to get some groceries while I am in Iowa City.  I hope to be home in time to watch the Cubs this afternoon.  Wedding invitations are coming right along and should be done by the time the game is over this afternoon!!
