Little Ladybug

I love the ladybug images in this stamp set, but I think my favorite image is this large flower.  I know I have used it a lot more than the actual bugs.

Everyone stamping with me this week made one of these cards.

Stamps: Little Ladybug
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Whisper  White
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  So Saffron Combo Pack, Light Old Olive
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Ladybug Dies,
Subtle Embossing Folder, White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon,

Today is going to be a relatively busy day.  This morning I am doing a Kid's Stamping Session, finishing up in time to watch the Hawkeye Basketball game.  I hope to get in a little stamping this afternoon before attending a funeral visitation this evening.  Luckily I still have some leftovers in the refrigerator, so supper should be relatively easy.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Bonanza Buddies

This is another one of the cards that the kiddos are going to make Saturday at their stamping event.  I tried to come up with cards that would be pretty easy to make, but still fun for them to send.

Of course, I had to put some bling on this card.  Hanna always says when I ask her what a card needs . . . "Bling, Mom . . . all cards need bling".  So bling it is!!

Stamps: Bonanza Buddies
Cardstock: Whisper  White Thick, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Birthday Bonanza
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Noble Peacock Rhinestones,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be another day with not a lot on the agenda!!  I think I have everything ready for tomorrow morning.  I may decide to go ahead and start to get stuff ready for Monday's One Sheet Wonder class . . . it just depends on what mood strikes me this afternoon!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Bonanza Buddies,

I love working with kids and I am going to get the opportunity to do another kid's stamping event on Saturday morning.  I thought the Bonanza Buddies would be a perfect stamp set to use for them to make some birthday cards.

I am planning on having everything die cut for them so all they have to do is stamp Happy Birthday and assemble the card.  I will say whenever I see this toucan all I can think about is Toucan Sam and Fruit Loops which just happens to be my favorite kind of cereal.

Stamps: Bonanza Buddies
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Birthday Bonanza
Ink: Memento Black, Bermuda Bay
Accessories:  Bonanza Dies, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Ruched Ribbon,
Assorted Pompoms, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Now that I have all of the cards planned for Saturday I can get busy and get everything cut and ready to go.  I am also hoping to get everything cut for Monday night's One Sheet Wonder class before I meet some friends for supper.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Peaceful Poppies One Sheet Wonder

Last month when I went to Stamping With Peggy's stamping retreat in Illinois, one of the extra classes I did was a One Sheet Wonder class.  Next Monday night I am offering the same class.

Everyone will be making these 13 cards.  I am also going to bring some extra ribbon and embellishments that people can use on their cards is they wish.  If you would like to join us, let me know and I will get you added to the list.

Designer Series Paper: Peaceful Poppies
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Layering Circles Dies,

Yesterday was a very lazy day!!!  Other than making a casserole for supper, I was very unproductive!!  Hopefully, today will be a little more productive!!

Thoughtful Blooms

When I first saw the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Thoughtful Blooms, I didn't think I would like it as there were too many little stamps in it for me.  Boy was I wrong!!  The more I use it, the more I love it!!

The Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper makes this stamp set even better. This is one of the cards everyone made at Make-It-Monday and if their reaction is anything to go by, they like this paper as well.

Stamps: Thoughtful Blooms
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Highland Heather, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Pleased as Punch
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Pineapple Punch
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangle Dies, Versamark,
White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Small Bloom Punch,
Basic Rhinestone Jewels,

After an early morning hair appointment, the rest of the day is totally free of anything to do!!!  I must say I am very glad that they got the forecast so wrong and that we are not getting a bunch of snow today.  I am so ready for spring!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Lovely Lily Pad

Lovely Lily Pad was one of the first stamps I ordered during the pre-order for demonstrators and this is the first card I have made with it!!  I will say there was a lot of die cutting with this card!!!

I am not sure I would have ever chosen this color combination either, but I took my colors directly from the Designer Series Paper.  It turned out better than I thought it might when I was putting it together.  This is one of the cards that everyone will be making at Make-It-Monday, so we will see what they have to ay about it.

Stamps: Lovely Lilypad, Piece of Cake
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green,
Highland Heather, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Lily Impressions
Ink: Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Lily Pad Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Nature's Twine,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

I was so hoping we were done with the snow for the year, but it sounds like we may be in for a lot.  I should should probably go to the grocery store before stamp night so I will be content to stay in the house if we end up getting as much as they say we are going to.  I do have plenty of projects that will keep me busy!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Happy Birthday To You

I love the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-Bration stamp set and it is made even better now that there is a die for the cake, flowers and cake stand.

This card, which I found on Pinterest is one of the birthday cards that everyone will be making at Make-It-Monday.

Stamps: Happy Birthday To You
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Pear Pizzazz,
PetalPink, Lovely Lipstick, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: Best Dressed
Ink: Memento Black,  Lovely Lipstick and Pear Pizzazz (Inside)
Stampin' Blends:  Lovely Lipstick Dark, Old Olive Light, Flirty Flamingo Light
Accessories: Birthday Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies,
 Tufted Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

We had a great supper out last night with Julie and Jason.  Jason and I both like HuHot, while the rest of the family is not as fond of it.  Since it was my birthday and I chose where we went, HuHot it was!!  Jason and I decided we got our HuHot fix for another year at least.

Today I need to finish getting everything ready for Monday night.  I have about half of it ready, so I should be good to go.  I am also hoping to get some extra classes planned this afternoon as well.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Painted Poppies

One of the advantages of cleaning your stamp room and getting everything put away is that you find cards that you have done at Technique/Stamp Club that you forgot to post.  Such is the case with this one.  This technique also comes from Melissa's Crafting Treehouse.

I know I made this card with the group that meets on the first Thursday of the month. It was very interesting to see how each of the cards turned out a little differently based on how the background turned out.  One of the things I did differently with them than when I made this sample is that I used Stazon Black ink for them and also used the Stamapratus so that they could get the black line art to be dark enough.

Stamps: Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments, Bokeh Dots
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories:  Stamparatus, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather,
Pacific Point, Blueberry Bushel and Balmy Blue Re-inkers,
Stampin' Spritzer

I had a great time visiting and catching up at lunch yesterday.  By the time I got home yesterday afternoon, I decided to just read the rest of the day so no stamping was accomplished.  Today I need to get in gear and get stuff ready for Monday night before Julie and Jason pick us up for supper tonight!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder

Last night my original Technique/Stamp Club started back up again after taking some time off around the holidays.  I wanted to share with them this technique I found on a blog I follow called Melissa's Crafting Treehouse.  She has absolutely gorgeous techniques and I think this is one of them.

This is a technique she calls Burnished Baroque and this embossing folder is perfect for it!!  It looks more complicated than it actually is!!!  I shared this technique with my other Technique/Stamp Club earlier this month and this is the card they made.

Last night, I wanted to change it up some so used a different color foil and oriented the card vertically.  We decided last night that they were equally beautiful, it would just depend on the what occasion you were sending the card for, as to which one you liked the best!!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White (inside)
Designer Series Paper: Copper Foil or Noble PeacockFoil
Accessories:  Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder, Versamark,
Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Clear or Gold Faceted Gems,
1/2 Black Satin Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be an on-the-go type of day.  On the way home from Iowa City last night I got a text that John's prescriptions were ready to pick up. Why they couldn't have sent it about 20 minutes earlier, I don't know . . . but back to Iowa City I go.  Then I am headed to Kalona to meet some friends for lunch.  Either before lunch or after lunch I am stopping at an antique store in Kalona and picking up a mirror that I have been looking at for a while.  I decided to stop looking at it in the store and look at it in my house!!  If I get home in time from all of that I may spend some time in my stamping room getting ready for Monday night.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

January Paper Pumpkin

If you have never tried Paper Pumpkin you don't know what you are missing!!  Each month you get an exclusive stamp set and supplies to complete either cards or 3D projects.

There are many times that I don't actually make the 3D projects, but turn them into cards.  Such was the case with this Paper Pumpkin.  I used the stamp set and many of the elements, combined with regular cardstock to make these thank you cards.

Stamps: Paper Pumpkin
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Ink: Mint Macaron
Accessories:  Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder, Heart Punch Pack,
Elements from Paper Pumpkin Kit

My swaps are done, my paper work is completely caught up, and tonight's Technique Class supplies are ready. Now I just need to get my car back in order to get to Iowa City.  I know he was super busy yesterday so am assuming it will be ready sometime this morning!!

Thoughtful Blooms

The Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and the coordinating Small Bloom Punch have been very popular . . . I know they are some of my favorites!!!

This is one of the cards that everyone stamping with me last week got to make.  The hearts in the Pleased To Punch Designer Series Paper were the perfect accent for this card.

Stamps: Thoughtful Blooms
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper:  Pleased To Punch
Ink:  Gorgeous Grape
Accessories:  Heart Punch Pack, Small Bloom Punch,
Basic Pearl Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a very productive day.  I got a lot of stamping done, but more importantly I got all of my paper work done that I had been putting off.  It sure is a nice feeling to have that caught up!!

Today will be another stay at home day, but only because my car is being serviced today.  I am hoping to get everything ready for Technique/Stamp Club on Thursday night.  I know what we are doing, I just need to get the supplies ready.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

All Dressed Up

Last November when Susie and I got home from On Stage in Las Vegas she had some of us over to her house to play with some of the then new stamp sets and supplies.  This is one of the cards she provided for us to make.

The purse die that comes with this suite actually makes a 3D purse as well.  It is super cute!!

Stamps: All Dressed Up
Cardstock: Mint Macaron, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Best Dressed
Accessories:  All Dressed Up Dies, Tufted 3D Embossing Folder,
Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon, Best Dressed Tassels,

Today is the day I am going to finish up some swaps for an event I am attending the first weekend in March.  I need 64 of them, so I want to get them done sooner rather than later.  I have a pretty good start on them, but still have plenty to do.  My plan is to stamp most of the day since I have soup cooking in the crockpot for supper.  I love days like this!!

Peaceful Moments

A couple of weeks ago I went to a demonstrator get together and received this card as a swap.  I think it was one of the ones that Susie provided.  It will be perfect for tonight's Peaceful Poppies class.

I know it looks like I just didn't do a very good job of lining up the color on the poppy outline, but that it the way it is suppose to be.  The three little dots are added with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

Stamps: Peaceful Moments, Painted Poppies
Cardstock: Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Peaceful Poppies
Ink:  Memento Black, Poppy Parade, Old Olive
Accessories:  Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker,
Black 1/2" Satin Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Everything is ready to go for tonight so I am hoping that I can walk this morning before leaving for Iowa City.  I have an appointment this afternoon before stamp night, so if I walk first thing it should work out all right.  Hopefully the weather will still cooperate with me!!

Sending You Thoughts

Sometimes simple is better when it comes to cards!!  Such is the case for this card and Simple Saturday!!  I think of all of the patterns of paper in the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper, this one is my favorite.

Once again this is going to be one of the cards everyone will be making at the special Peaceful Poppies class on Monday night.

Yesterday, Luetta and I decided to go out to lunch since it was a semi nice day.  We ran a couple of errands while we were in Iowa City as well.  We actually had to turn the heat down in the car on the way home because the sun coming in the car windows was very warm!!  Not that we were complaining!!  When I got home I finished up all of the catalog kits and Paper Pumpkin kits I had taken to Illinois with me last weekend to do.

I am hoping to get all of my cardstock cut for Monday night this morning so that I can stuff envelopes while watching the Hawks play basketball.  I sure hope they play better than they did on Thursday night!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

I love going to Susie's stamp classes as she has such awesome cards.  This is one of the cards we made at one of her classes last month.

One last Valentin's Day card to share with you!!  The From My heart suite in this Mini Catalog has been absolutely awesome.  I know, I know . . . I say that about a lot of the products, but it is so true!!

Heartfelt

I have just a couple more Valentine's Day cards to share with you before Friday.  This one might look familiar as I made a similar card  earlier in the year.  You can see that card here.

This is the version I had for the Kid's Valentine class.  I knew for sure that I wanted to keep the bling on this card, because after all, what little girl doesn't like bling and sparkly things!!!!

Stamps: Heartfelt
Cardstock:Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: From My Heart
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: Heart Doilies, Red Basic Jewels

Tonight for the third week in a row I am going to try and go out for supper with some friends.  It seems like one thing or another has kept us from meeting.  I also hope to get all of the cards packets stamped up from the last several stamp nights and all of the stamps cleaned and put away.  Walking is also on the agenda for today.  If that all gets accomplished, then I think a good book will be calling my name.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Beautifully Braided

I follow the blog of an Australian demonstrator, Kylie B., and she had this gorgeous card on her blog the other day.  I absolutely love the monochromatic look of this card.

Last night's Make-it-Monday was very busy and I feel like I missed talking to many of the people that were there!!  If I missed you, I am sorry.

Tonight is my monthly Paper Pals meeting so I need to get a couple of shoe box swaps ready to go today.  Other than that, I don't think there is much on my agenda for today.  I may do a fair amount of resting!!

If the name of this stamp set wasn't enough to get me to buy it, the images and the sentiments surely were!!   And it is even better now that there are dies to cut out some of the images!!!

The stamping retreat weekend was awesome even though we had to leave early because of the weather. I do think we made the right decision.  We did not run into much snow at all, but that was the plan . . . to leave before it started . . . so mission accomplished!!

I have some errands to run before Make-it-Monday tonight so I need to get the car loaded and get myself ready to go before too long!!  Which means I need to get in gear and get it done!!

Special Someone

I spent Sunday afternoon stamping with Susie.  And she happened to make a raccoon card.  Now if you have been stamping with me lately you know we have had a problem with a raccoon in our attic. And we finally caught it Sunday morning, before I left to stamp with Susie.

I decided to change the sentiment from the Happy Birthday that she originally had on the card to this custom one.  I am going to send this card to the young man that was so diligent about helping with our raccoon problem as a thank you card.  He tried several things and worked very hard to make sure we were raccoon free.

Stamps: Special Someone
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Old Olive,
Whisper White, Vellum Cardstock
Ink: Real Red, Early Espresso
Accessories: Special Day Dies, Woodland Embossing Folder,

Little Ladybug

The Little Ladybug card was another favorite of the girls this week.    Coloring is something most kids enjoy and the girls were no exception.

This card does use a retired embossing folder, as I had many of these cut for last year and then the weather prevented me from using them. I thought the dots on the folder worked well with the ladybug.

Stamps: Little Ladybug
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Real Red Marker,
Basic Basic Black Marker, Stampin' Dimensionals

I am hoping to get everything ready for Monday night today, but first I need to get ready for Technique/Stamp Club tonight.  Let's hope I have lots of energy today to get everything done.

Heartfelt

Last night was the second of the Kid's Valentine's Stamping night.  It was just as much fun as the first night.

This is one of the cards that they all got to make.

Stamps: Heartfelt
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: From the Heart
Ink: Real Red
Accessories:  Heart Punch Pack, Lovely Lipstick 1/8" Gros Grain Ribbon,
Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

Just like my regular Monday classes, I love when people take the supplies on their table and make the card their own!!

I did remember to take a few more pictures this time.  I think it is fair to say they the dragonfly/butterfly/caterpillar or what ever you want to call it, was the favorite by far.

I was glad to see this little gal last night.  She had been stamping on Monday nights, but this year her dance lessons fell on Monday, so I have not seen her for a while,.  I could not believe how tall she has gotten.

I think it is safe to say that I love working with littles and hope they had a good time and like their Valentines.
