Blossoms In Bloom

I am having so much fun with this stamp and die set . . . Blossoms in Bloom.  I found this particular card on a page by a demonstrator in Australia . . . Stamp With Kylie.

The different colored blossom die cuts really pop when layered onto a piece of black cardstock. I will have to try this with other flowered dies!!

Nothing new going on around here which has been the story for months!!  I guess reading and stamping are probably on the agenda for today again.  It has certainly been too hot and muggy to sit outside, so the recliner it is!!

Blossoms in Bloom

Ever since Hanna decorated one of her apartments in the gray and mustard color scheme, I have used it in card designs.  It really is a striking color combination.

This birthday card is one of the ones people will make if they order the Blossoms in Bloom Product Based card kit.  I hope they like the color combination as much as I do.

Blossoms in Bloom

I had an opportunity yesterday to work on an upcoming product based class yesterday using the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle.

I have been seeing many of these split cards while browsing card ideas and I wanted to include the idea in this class.

It's really pretty easy once you see how it is done and gives you two awesome cards with just one set of die cuts.

As you can see, with just a change in the position of the sentiment you have the two awesome cards with little to no work!   What do you think?

Stamps: Ornate Thanks
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink: Balmy Blue
Accessories: Many layered Blossoms Dies, Fine Tip Glue Pen

A year ago today, Hanna and I spent the entire day in different airports trying to get to Boston.  I just asked her if she would like to do that again and her answer was "NO!"  I am sure glad I did as much traveling last summer as I did, since this summer I am traveling from my house to my patio and then to my stamp room!!

Lovely You

I just can not get enough of the Flowers For All Seasons Designer Series Paper. I would be hard pressed to tell you which one is my favorite pattern in the pack.

This card which comes from Flowerbug's Inkspot is another card that everyone received in the Cards in the Mail packet.  Not everyone received the same designer series paper, but no matter which pattern was used I thought the cards turned out super cute.

Stamps: Lovely You

Accessories: Greenery Embossing Folder, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Small Bloom Punch,  2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals

We had a great time shopping the garage sale items at the scrapbook store. While I didn't get any garage sale items I did pick up a set of Iowa stamps that focuses on football and the Hawks.  How could I resist that!!

Prized Peony

It seems like I have need more and more of these types of cards lately. Not sure if it is a sign of the times or a sign of my age.  Neither one is a good choice!!!

Everyone got this card in their Cards in The Mail packet this week.  It comes from a site I belong to called the Creative Corner.  I love the ideas they present there.

Once again I found this card on one of my surfing expeditions . . .  but just thing of the possibilities . . . oh my mind is spinning already!!  What about yours?  Different paper, different occasions, different embellishments . . . look for this die to resurface again and again.

Beautiful World

Once again I was amazed when I saw this stamp set for the first time and knew I just had to have it!!  I thought I would primarily use it for scrapbooking but I have found that it makes awesome cards as well.

This is yet another card I found on my surfing expeditions.  I am trying to find many different layouts that only use sentiments in the cards . . . I know they probably all look different depending on what designer series paper you use, but sometime I feel like they all end up looking the same.  LOL

Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: World of Good
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly, Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is another great morning of coffee on the patio!!  I almost hate to go inside!!  I do have to finish up die cutting a few things so that I can mail out the card packets late this morning or early afternoon.

You will know where you can find me when I am done with that . . . with my book, my iced tea, and my chair enjoying the beautiful late June weather.

Celebrate Sunflowers

On one of my many surfing expeditions looking at card ideas I came across this one using different patterns of the Flowers For Every Season designer Series paper.  I fell in love with the layout.

This is going to be great to use up all of those smaller scraps of designer series paper that I have laying around.  You just need to find three that semi coordinate and you are good to go!!

Forever Fern

The other day I posted a card using the Joseph's Coat technique with other colors.  You can see that card here.  I liked those colors but had to try another one with my preferred color combination.

I definitely like this color combination better and am anxious to try some other ones as well.  What color combinations do you think I should try?

The good thing about rain is that I don't need to worry about watering my plants.  The other good thing about a rainy day is that I don't have to decide how I am going to split up my day . . . today I plan on crafting most of the day!!  Hopefully I will come up with some great cards!!

Blossoms in Bloom

There are so many possibilities with this Blossoms in Bloom set.  I love the color combination that Stampin' Pretty used in this card.  Actually I am loving all of the new In Colors paired with our existing colors.

Blossoms in Bloom is one of the Distinktive stamps . . . so you get the awesome look of these flowers.  The stamps made with this distinktive process lay down the ink at different opacities giving the finished image more depth. There’s nothing tricky about how to apply the ink: just ink the surface lightly for a perfect photographic finish.

We had a great time on out Father's Day trip to Adel yesterday.  We had supper at a great little local BBQ restaurant that had an outside back patio where we could sit and visit as long as we wanted since we were the only ones there.  We watched the lightning all the way home, but luckily didn't have to drive in any rain.

Today I hope to finish up the cards for tomorrow's Cards in the Mail packets and also finish my book.  A perfect Sunday afternoon!!

Fabulous Fern

If you have stamped with me for a while you know I absolutely love the Joseph's Coat technique.  One of my stamping friends, Kimberly, sent me a link to a card using that technique with this stamp set.  So of course, I had to try it right away!!

For this card I used Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, and Gorgeous Grape inks.  I have usually used a brayer to cover the card with the black ink, but the tutorial that Kimberly pointed me towards, just rubbed the Memento Ink Pad directly over the cardstock.  It worked great!!

Stamps: Fabulous Fern
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: ich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape, Memento Black
Accessories:  Versamark, White Embossing Powder,
Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Of course I had to try some other color combinations after I made this one.  Stay tuned for those in the coming days.

I think we are driving over to Adel this afternoon to celebrate Father's Day with the kids . . . observing social distance of course!  This is a very busy weekend for Jake and Hanna and this was the best option for getting together.  I do hope to spend some time in my craft room this morning before we leave!!

Beautiful World

Yes . . . despite all that it going on in the world today it is still a beautiful world and life is always an adventure!!

Today, the folks in Adel are having a fundraising garage sale for Hanna and Jake to help them with their adoption journey.  I thought this card was pretty appropriate for today since it shows both North America and South America.  Life will indeed be a beautiful adventure for them in the future!!

Cardstock: Basic Black, Gold Foil
Designer Series Paper: World of Good
Accessories: World Map Dies, Versamark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Rain Rain Rain . . . at least I don't need to worry about watering my plants.

Now that my neck is feeling marginally better I am hoping to spend the morning in my craft room.  I have some techniques that I want to try with some of the new stamp sets and have just been waiting for things to settle down so I would enjoy my time.

Blossoms in Bloom

One of the things I like about inspiration from other site's card ideas is the color combinations that I would never put together myself.  Such is the case with this card from Stampin' With Amy.

The Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade, and Rich Razzleberry work well together but I am not sure I would have ever come up with this particular combination.  I have used the dies that coordinate with this set quite a bit, but this is the first time I have inked up the stamps.

Stamps:  Blossoms in Bloom

It is another beautiful morning sitting outside listening to the birds sing and the breeze blowing through the patio.  Other than a book study Zoom meeting this morning, there is not much else on the agenda for today.  Hopefully I can get some cards planned for the next Cards in The Mail packet.

One of the first stamp sets on my order from the new catalog was this set . . . Ridiculously Awesome.  It has some great sentiments and I know I will use it a LOT!! This particular card comes from a site I follow . . . Creating Success and this was Ronda Wade's Million Dollar Stamp Set.

I am not sure what says sunshine better than daisies and Bumblebee cardstock and ribbon!!

Simply Citrus

Since I was trying to craft from my recliner this weekend, I was glad that I had another one of the fabulous kits from the new Idea Book and Catalog.

The Simply Citrus Kit is an all inclusive kit that contains absolutely everything you need to make these fifteen cards, including a block for the clear mount stamps, and a Night of Navy Ink Spot.

I again made the cards exactly as the directions called for, but there is certainly room to change them up and make them your own.

I love the fun colors on the inside of the envelopes.  You can mix and match them as well.  I know I will be using the sentiment that came with this kit in my own card making in the future!!

Check out this video from Stampin' Up! to learn more about this awesome kit.

We had a great time visiting my family while they were camping yesterday. My nephew and brother smoked ribs all day yesterday and they were absolutely awesome.  I have always said that I didn't care for BBQ ribs, but I can't say that anymore!!

Gorgeous Posies Project Kit

This Gorgeous Posies Project Kit is truly as they say . . . gorgeous!!

I needed these four ink pads . . . Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss, and Blushing Bride, as well as the coordinating stamp set . . . Gorgeous Posies.

The kit made sixteen cards. . . 4 each of 4 different designs.

All there was for me to do is to stamp a sentiment and put the cards together and I had sixteen beautiful cards.

I would be hard pressed to tell you which of the four card is my favorite.  I stamped them exactly as the directions said . . . but if I order another kit of supplies I would definitely use other sentiments.

And the best part is that it comes with this gorgeous box to hold all of the cards and envelopes.

This weekend has been one of rest rest rest.  I somehow did something to my neck that made it very painful to stamp or do much else besides lay down and rest it.  It is a little better today so hopefully it is on the mend.

Both of my brothers are camped at Lake Darling this week and John and I are supposed to go for supper tonight. They are having ribs so we will go down this afternoon for a visit and then supper.  I am making some potato salad to take along with us . . . with eggs on the top . . . which has gotten to be kind of a family joke!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Artistry Blooms

Artistry Blooms is one of the suites that I did not order from the new catalog. Yet!!  So I thought I would show you some of the Stampin' Up! photos of this beautiful suite.

The Artistry Blooms Suite is fresh from the studio meets fresh from the garden. Sweeping brushstrokes and beautifully blended colour gradient mingle with a wildflower bouquet for refined results or a stunning statement.

WOW look at all the vibrant colors in this ARTISTRY BLOOMS SUITE that is in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog! The hand drawn cling stamp set with curved sentiments was designed to be stamped across the banner. The beautiful large bouquet die can be layered on top of the stamp bouquet or used on its own.

Also, the banner can be snipped away from the floral image to be used by itself. Vibrantly beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Rainbow Glitter Paper makes beautiful options and gradients. This paper can is very versatile, leaves can be cut from the green, strips can be cut out, and small flowers can be cut from the yellow or pink, all creating endless possibilities.

Check out this video from Stampin' UP!!

Today looks to be another lovely day to stamp in the morning and sit outside in the afternoon and read!!  So I think that is what I shall do!!

Happiest Of Birthdays

I have moved on to some other papers and stamps that are in the new Idea Book and Catalog.  I found this card on of the bloghops I have looked at but could not get back to it to see what page it was on.

I actually had the Stitched So Sweetly Die piece just sitting on my stamping table so this card came together quite quickly!!

Many Layered Blossoms

OH MY LANTA!!!  This Many Layered Blossoms dies is absolutely awesome!!!  I can't wait to try more cards using it.

At first glance I thought it might be rather difficult to get everything cut cleanly, but that is not the case.  I am not sure I would want to make a whole lot of cards with all these little pieces because it is somewhat tedious to get them all back in, but I love the look!!

Stamps: Posted For You
Cardstock: Bumble Bee, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White, Vellum
Ink:  Misty Moonlight
Accessories: Many Layered Blossoms Dies, 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots,

It is such a gorgeous morning this morning I could sit outside all day!!  But I do need to get some cardstock cut for the week's card kits, so when my coffee is done I am off to do that.

It was wonderful to see Jake and Hanna and their friends yesterday and to share lunch with them.  Hopefully a couple of friends from Iowa City are coming down tonight and we will meet for supper and visiting.  I am slowly taking baby steps to go out in the world again.
