Painted Glass (Again)

I told you I loved this Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper and the Painted Glass stamp set.

It amazes me how different the same panel can look depending on how you color it and what colors you use with it!!

Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Light Night of Navy Stampin Blend,
 Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend,

I survived yesterday's trip to the dentist . . . but just barely!  Just kidding . . . but they did use so much novocaine on the left side of my mouth that it was numb clear up into my sinuses  and down into my throat.   And it lasted until I went to bed last night!!  So I just decided to take it easy and read for most of the day.  I am ready to get back at it again today with the garage sale readiness!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Painted Glass

Are you tired of Painted Glass??  I sure hope not because I have a lot of other samples to share with you!!!  I would be hard pressed to tell you which color or which panel I like the best!!

It is totally amazing to me how much the looks of the designer paper changes based on what color you pair it with and what color you layer it on!!

Stamps: Painted Glass
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Night off Navy Light Stampin' Blend,
Old Olive Dark Stampin' Blend,

As soon as I am done posting this I am off to do one of my least favorite things in the world . . . go to the dentist.  I have three very small cavities that need to be fixed.  They wanted to do it in three separate appointments and I said no way . . . no how . . . . let's do it all at once.  So yes I will have a numb moth for a while, but they will all be taken care of.  Depending on how I feel when I get home I will either continue the purge or take a nap!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Big Wishes

One of the things I love when the New In-Colors come out is the new color combinations that look good together.  This year it is especially fun since we have so many new and returning core colors.  This card, which everyone made on Monday night, uses a color combination I took directly from the back of the designer series paper package.

The layout of the card came from Pinterest.

Stamps: Big Wishes
Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Fig, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Tranquil Textures
Ink: Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig
Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Ovals Framelits, Big Shot,
Blender Pens, Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine,
Share What you Love  Artisan Pearls,
Stampin' Dimensionals

The purge continued yesterday and also an unexpected road trip to pick up some lanterns for Hanna's wedding.  Lauren's mom had found some on a facebook wedding page, so I contacted the gal and arranged to buy them.  I thought Hanna could pick them up when she got home from her trip, but the lady was a tad impatient so I went to get them last night.  It was about a 3.5 hour road trip there and back, but it was a great afternoon for a drive!!

Today instead of purging I think I am actually going to stamp some cards to put together while watching the Cubs this afternoon.  I am meeting some friends for supper so it should be a pretty full  day!!

Animal Outing

Check out another awesome new stamp set it the catalog . . . Animal Outing. Besides making cool baby cards, it also has some awesome sentiments for thank you and friendship cards.

I thought it looked great paired with the bubbles from the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper.

So of course I had to make a girly version of the same card.  The Fresh Fig is a little dark, but I still think it works well together.

Stamps: Animal Outing
Cardstock: Balmy Blue (for boy), Fresh Fig (for girl), Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Tranquil Texture

The purge continues today after a hair appointment this morning.  I can't believe all I am finding in the nooks and crannies of my stamp room!!!

Enjoy Life

Enjoy Life is one of those stamp sets that really tug at me!!!  I just love the sentiments in the set.  I am learning to work with the images, but I just keep being drawn back to the words.  This sentiment says it all!!!

This is another one of the cards anyone stamping with me this week will be making!!

Stamps: Enjoy Life
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Memento Black, Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove,
Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel
Accessories: Aquapainter, Detailed Trio Punch

Yesterday's venture to the flea market turned up an awesome find.  I wasn't really looking for anything but sometime something reaches out and grabs you around the ankle.  Yesterday was such a day.  I was able to go from this . . . .

to this!!!  I believe I have mentioned that I am really purging my stamp room. The plastic drawers were full of designer series paper and I have paired it down to just what will fit in the awesome little wooden set of drawers. Everything else is in the pile to be sold.  I will have awesome deals on designer series paper!!!  And I know have an super useful place to store my Big Shot so I don't have to be picking it up off of the floor all of the time!!!

Today I am going to finish going through paper that I have stashed elsewhere. I have an afternoon appointment for some lab work before Make-It-Monday tonight.  The car is loaded and ready to go!!!

Painted Glass

I think I might have mentioned my fascination with stained glass windows a couple of weeks ago.  Here is another of the cards made with the Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper.

This is another one of the cards everyone stamping with me will make this week.

Stamps: Painted Glass
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin' Blend,
Old Olive Dark Stampin' Blend, Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon

Yesterday's shopping trip was quite successful.  I managed to get the things on my list and only the things on my list.  Today we are going in search of fleas again in Iowa City.  Most of my stamp room has been furnished with fleas I have picked up at this flea market at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.  I am not really in need of anything . . . . but that is the thing with fleas . . . you don't know you need it till you see it!!

Abstract Impressions

Whenever I see something in shades of purple it reminds me of Hanna and my niece when they were little girls.  They both loved the color purple.  My mom and I took the girls to the Mall of America one summer and the girls were in seventh heaven because there was a store there called Primarily Purple.  This card would have been right up their alley!!

This is one of the cards everyone will be making Monday night at Make-It-Monday.  It also showcases the two new beautiful shades of purple that have joined the Stampin' Up! core colors . . . Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White
Ink: Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Mint Macaron

As soon as I am done posting this I need to get ready to go shopping for the day with my daughter, Julie.  We haven't been shopping for quite some time so I am looking forward to spending the day with her.

Love What You Do

We always do two techniques at Technique/Stamp Club.  The second technique we worked with last night was dragging and swiping.

I think my dragging and swiping skills need a little practice, but overall I am pleased with how the card turned out.

Stamps: Love What You Do
Cardstock: Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Shimmery White
Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Triple Banner Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

My purge of my stamp room continues . . . so far I have just purged what was in plain site.  Today I would like to start on the ribbons that are in tubs (and I do mean tubs . . . plural) that are stashed under my stamp table.  If you want ribbon you will want to be sure and come to my garage sale!!

Painted Glass

It's the first Thursday of the month so it must be Technique/Stamp Club night. Tonight we are learning the double embossing technique.

Now that I have tried this technique I see all kinds of cards with flowers and the two different colors of embossing powder.  Maybe even a little crazy . . . and use three different colors.

Stamps:  Painted Glass, Handwritten
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Grapefruit Grove
Accessories:  Versamark, Grapefruit Grove Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, 1/8" Grapefruit Grove Gros Grain Ribbon

Wow. . . . what a Cubs game last night . . . wore me out just watching it!!  So today will be a day of rest before appointments this afternoon and Technique/Stamp Club tonight.  I am actually ahead of the game as I have all of the cards figured out and samples made for Monday's Make-It-Monday!!!

Painted Glass

Not only does the Painted Glass stamp set have awesome stained glass window images it also has this super cool butterfly.   I saw this card on Pinterest and thought what a wonderful way to showcase all of the new In-Colors!!

You might recognize the "amazing" die cut from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  It is one of the few things that has carried over to the main catalog in years.

Stamps: Painted Glass
Cardstock: Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove,
Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Basic Black
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:Stained Glass Thinlits, Celebrate You Thinlits,
Big Shot, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals

It is amazing how much stamping time I have had on my hands lately!!  I actually have all of the cards planned out for Monday night's Make-It-Monday and all but two of them already made.  And it is only Wednesday!!!  I had better get busy today though, and figure out what we are doing for Technique/Stamp Club tomorrow with, though!!

Painted Glass

The Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper has SO many options when it comes to images.  Here is another one of them.

I loved to color as a kid and I am no different now . . . so am in seventh heaven when using these papers.  It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but I went over the image with a clear Wink of Stella pen to give it a little sparkle.

Stamps: Painted Glass
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Basic Black,
Whisper White (behind the circle image)
Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: White Embossing Powder,
Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Paper Snips

I am loving these cooler temperatures.  I had to make a choice yesterday . . . stay in my stamp room and stamp or sit outside and read.  The outside won yesterday!!  It was wonderful.  After a hair appointment this morning I think the stamp room will win today.

Painted Glass

As a child I always had a fascination with stained glass windows . . . I still do if I am being absolutely honest.  So when I saw the Graceful Glass Designer Series Paper and the stamp set Painted Glass I knew it would see a lot of ink!!

Yesterday morning I made several cards with the DSP and stamps.  I think this one is probably my favorite, although on a different day I would probably pick a different one.

Stamps: Painted Glass
Cardstock: Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Graceful Glass
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Calypso Coral Dark, Old Olive Dark, and Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin' Blends, Basic Black Baker's Twine, Glue Dots

Besides being able to stamp yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon was equally as productive while I was watching the Cubs game.  I went through all of my swap baskets and pulled out all of the swaps that were from retired stamp sets and organized all of the new samples.  This actually took longer than you might think.  The swap samples from retired sets I am giving to my friend, Linda.  She takes them and redoes some things on them and sends them to a group that send cards overseas for the troops, so that they have cards to send.  A very worthwhile organization!!!!  And a great use for retired swap cards!!

Wedding Invitations --Part 2

I received Lauren's invitation when I picked up the mail yesterday so I feel it is okay to share hers as well.  These have been designed since last summer when the girls came to visit and we designed Lauren's Save the Dates.

I had thought that perhaps that the wording on the diagonal would be a little tricky to cut, but because of the way girls set up the printing it was actually quite easy.

Stamps: Variety of retired Stampin' Up flower stamps
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Fresh Fig
Two totally different invitations . . . but they both reflect the girls' personalities exactly!!  Now for a little but of a break until it is time to make programs and wedding favors!!

Wedding Invitations Part 1

Since Hanna has now sent out her invitations and I know people have received them, I can share them with you.

The basic design for the invites came about back in March when we were on our way home from Kansas City.

There were several details that she wanted to include with the invite but did not want on the actual invitation.  So we decided to have extra information on two inserts.  Once we got that all done, I wanted to have some way of keeping it all together in the envelope so the idea of a belly band was formed.  The hardest part of the whole invite was trying to decide what to put on the belly band.  I had several packages of doilies left from the save the dates so we decided to incorporate that into the design.  Then came the struggle . . . what to put on the doily.  We tried initials, we tried leaving it plain, we tried intricate die cut designs (vetoed by mom as too much work), and we tried several other things.  As I was driving home I remembered this new stamp set I was dieing to use that came in my pre-order  . . . so I stamped one up and Hanna loved it!!  Thank goodness for text messaging and face time!!  1532 motions of the stamp and 760 circle punches later we had our design.  I am super pleased with the final results!!

Stamps:  Abstract Impressions
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Wisteria Wonder (Retired), Whisper White
Ink: Wisteria Wonder (Retired), Elegant Eggplant (Retired)
Accessories: Delicate Designs Embossing Folder (Retired),
Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle Punch,
2" Circle Punch, Lace Doilies (Retired)

Rain . . . boy do we need it as well as the cooler temperatures!! Today's plans include graduation parties, errand running, stamping, and Cubs.  A perfect day!!

Enjoy Life

No longer a sneak peek . . . today is the day the new catalog is released!! And I believe I said yesterday that I love this new stamp set . . . the images and the sentiments!!  Especially this one!!

This sentiment definitely goes along with my philosophy of every day being a gift!!

Stamps: Enjoy Life
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Basic Black, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Garden Impressions
Ink: Memento Black, Pacific Point

Hmmm . . . what to do today???  I think I will purge and clean a little bit more in my stamp room and then spend the rest of it stamping!  No great surprise there!!  I am looking forward to the weekend when the temperatures are a little cooler to be able to sit outside and enjoy the patio!!
