Honey Bee

I have been trying to find cards that use the wealth of designer series paper I seem to find myself with these days.  This is paper is from the Ornate Garden Specialty pack but you could really use any designer series paper that you might have laying around!!

I don't know about you, but I am finding myself sending out a lot of cards lately that just say thinking of you . . . as I am missing the social interaction of face to face meetings!!

Stamps: Honey Bee

Cardstock: Old Olive, Whisper White, Gold Foil

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Accessories:  Layering Ovals Dies, Versamark,

Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Daisy Punch,

Wow . . . our FaceTime call with the kids lasted for over an hour last night. Once we got over some of the technical difficulties, it worked great.  Not that we had any earth shattering news to share, but it was just great to see their faces and hear their voices.

Snow . . . who would've thought on April 15th . . . but at least it is not ruining any travel plans today . . . my plans are to travel to my stamp room and work on cutting cardstock for the Guys Card Class that I am mailing out!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Ornate Thanks

I really do need to put the Ornate Garden Suite away for a while and concentrate on using some other sets . . . but it is just so cool that I am having a hard time doing that!!

Each of the papers in the specialty pack uses the same color scheme but they are each unique so lend a totally different look to the cards I am making.

Stamps: Ornate Thanks

Cardstock: Terracotta Tile, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Ink: Mossy Meadow

Accessories:  Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Gilded Gems,

Stampin' Dimensionals

Same song, second verse, a little bit louder and a little bit worse . . . these were the words to a song that was popular when I was in grade school.  My family added the little bit louder and a little but worse . . . but it seems appropriate right about now.   I wonder how many verses there will be to this song we are living right now??

Hanna texted last night and decided that we needed to set up a three way FaceTime call with Julie and Jason, her and Jake, and John and I.  I told her that I was so busy I had to check my social calendar.  We were in luck . . . I had no plans for tonight, so tonight it is. Technology is wonderful, especially at times like these.

Easter Promise

Happy Easter!!!

When I was on my walk yesterday I stopped to take pictures of the many bunches of daffodils I saw along the way.  Daffodils have become one of my favorite flowers.

They were my inspiration for today's Easter card.  I decided I should use the Word Wishes dies since I have had them for quite some time and had never even taken them out of the package!!  They will for sure be seeing more use in the future.  The green rectangles behind the words are Vellum Cardstock that I die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then colored with an Old Olive Dark Stampin' blend.  I thought it needed something behind the words to make them stand out a little it better.

Stamps: Easter Promise

Cardstock: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Vellum

Designer Series Paper: Peaceful Poppies

Ink: Memento Black

Stampin' Blends:  Old Olive Combo Pack, Daffodil delight Combo Pack

Accessories:  Word Wishes Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies,

Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls Jewels,

I want to wish you all, where ever you may be and whoever you maybe with, a very Happy Easter.

Ornate Style

I took my coloring to another level yesterday when I decided to try my hand at coloring some of the beautifully gold embossed paper in the Ornate Garden Specialty Paper Pack.

My friend, Susie, suggested we stamp together via Facebook and use these three colors . . . Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, and Night of Navy.  This is not a color combination I would probably ever use, but now that I have I really kind of like it.

Stamps: Ornate Thanks, Ornate Style

Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Ink: Memento Black, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie

Stampin' Blends:  Pumpkin Pie Combo Pack, Old Olive Light,

Night of Navy Light,

Accessories:  Ornate Layers Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies,

Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday I was struggling to decide what to make using this color combination.  It is amazing what a little fresh air and exercise will do for you. Mid-afternoon, I was not feeling very motivated to do anything at all so I decided I needed some fresh air and instead of just sitting outside I went for a walk. Not that I saw any flowers or anything along the way but this idea just popped into my head so of course I had to make it up right away when I got home.  I am hoping to be able to continue to take a daily walk . . . it is good for me!!

Witti-cisms

Back an eon ago at the beginning of March when we went to the stamping retreat in Rockford, Illinois put on by the Stampin' Sisters  we made a set of cards with this stamp set.  I thought this card would be good for today as relaxing and chinchilaing out would be a good thing right about now!!

The stamps in the set are all equally as cute and use some type of cute saying based on the image.

Designer Series Paper: Best Dressed

Ornate Thanks

I have been sending out a lot of thanks you cards recently . . . to a variety of people that are working in an essential service.  They need to know that the work they are doing is very much appreciated.  This would be the perfect card to send to them.

A few years ago you would have never seen me make a tone on tone card, but I am kind of liking them now, especially when you emboss the top layer to show it off a little bit.

Stamps: Ornate Thanks

Cardstock: Seaside Spray, Whisper White

Ink: Seaside Spray

Accessories: Ornate Layers Dies, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder,

Seaside Spray 1/4" Metallic Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Wow . . . what a difference a day makes!!!  Yesterday I sat outside reading so long that I actually got sunburned!!!  I don't think that would happen today!!! So I guess that means that it is a good day to stamp!!!  Planning some upcoming classes and seeing if I am brave enough to try a Facebook Live.

Once I got going using the Ornate Garden Suite, I just could not stop.  I will be showing you several cards over the next few days made with this suite.

Ornate Thanks

I am so ready to see some of these gorgeous flowers springing up everywhere . . . both from the ground and on cards!!!

I typically do not think of shades of brown for spring, but they just seemed to work with this thank you card.  Again . . . super simple and easy to make multiples of if you have a lot of thank you notes to send out.

Stamps: Ornate Thanks, Ornate Style

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper:  Ornate Garden Specialty

Ink: Crumb cake, Early Espresso

I love love love when people send me pictures of the cards they make with products they have bought.  My friend, Jeanie, who also happens to be my sister-in-law's mother, sent me this picture the morning.  She had taken advantage of the Timeless Tulips Compassionate Spacing Class and received her materials and stamps last week.  These four beautiful cards and the folio to hold them are the results!!!

It has been a productive morning already . . . two loaves of banana bread baked and potato salad made for supper.  I want to spend a little time in my stamping room this morning and then head outside this afternoon to enjoy the awesome temperatures we will be having today!!!  What are you going to do with this beautiful day??

Rooted in. Nature

A while back . . . a long while back . . . I had an order for some thinking of you cards.  This is one of the cards from that order that I never shared.

I know there are a lot of people out there who would love to get some happy mail just to know people are thinking about them and this card would be perfect for that.

Stamps: Rooted In Nature

Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Granny Apple Green, WhisperWhite

Ink: Pretty Peacock, GrannyApple Green, Crumb Cake

Accessories:  Layering Circles Dies, Triple Banner Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

I have been busy in my room making tons of cards with the Flowering Foils paper that I colored the other day. I did take time yesterday afternoon to take advantage of the beautiful weather and soak up some sunshine while reading my book. Today I am planning on working with the Ornate Garden Suite, so hopefully I will have some new samples to show tomorrow and maybe a new class to share.

Today . . . .a card that combines the stamp sets in the Ornate Garden Suite with the awesome designer series paper!!

Seriously The Best

Once again I have combined a sentiment form a January-June 2020 Mini Catalog stamp set with some of the awesome products in the Ornate Garden Suite.  It is seriously the best suite!!

Although it does not show up very well in the photo the "congrats" has been embossed with gold embossing powder to coordinate with the gold edgelit and the Gilded Gems.

Stamps:  Seriously the Best

Cardstock: Old Olive, Early Espresso Terra Cotta Tile

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Accessories:  Ornate Borders Dies, Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder,

Heat Tool, Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack,

Gilded Gems, Mini Glue Dots

I have always loved to color . . . one of the best presents I remember receiving as a child always came at Christmas from my grandparents . . . a brand new box of 72 Crayolas.  It had a sharpener and many different shades of the basic colors.  Maybe that is why I have always found coloring to be relaxing.  So yesterday I colored all day long.  Not with crayons and a coloring book, but with my Stampin Blends and the Flowering Foils paper that was in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Here are the results!!  Did I say I liked to color!!!

Today I am going to use all of these gorgeous papers that I made and turn them all into cards so that I can send out a lot of happy mail tomorrow or Monday!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Positive Thoughts

Once again I have combined a stamp set from the January-June 2020 Mini catalog with some of the early release Ornate Garden Suite products.  I love this stamp set for a couple of reasons . . . number one is the name . . . I think we can all use some positive thoughts anytime, but particularly right now . . . and number two is the sentiments that are in the set . . . all are uplifting and meant to make the receiver of any card feel good!!

Again the focal point of the card is the awesome designer series paper.  The colors are very rich and make me wish I could grow a flower garden like this one.

Stamps: Positive Thoughts

Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Terra-Cotta Tile, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Ink: Terra Cotta Tile

Accessories:  Stitched Shapes Dies, Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder,

Pearlized Doilies, Gilded Gems, Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack,

Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

This has been my second happy place this week in the later afternoon.  Sitting in the warm sunshine reading has been pretty awesome.  That probably won't happen today however if we get the rain they have been forecasting.

Guess the means that today I just stay in my stamping room . . . I have plenty to keep me busy!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Fable Friends

For today's card I combined some new with an existing stamp set in the annual Idea Book and Catalog.  I thought even though the first day of spring was a while back, the weather today warranted a Happy Spring card.

The Ornate Garden Specialty Paper is really really cool.  I know I say that about a lot of designer series papers, but that is only because it is true!!

Stamps: Fable Friends

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Ornate Garden Specialty

Ink: Memento Black

Stampin' Blends:  Crumb Cake Combo Pack, Night of Navy Light,

Poppy Parade Light, Mango Melody Light

Accessories: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies,

Gilded Gems, Stampin' Dimensionals

I sat in the front yard for over 30 minutes last night watching car after car of Mid-Prairie staff wave and shout out to the people in their yards.  It was so so cool!!!  I haven't heard that many "Hi, Mrs. Wilsons in a long time!!!

Even though it might not look like it, I can assure you the people in the picture were definitely six feet or more apart!!

The only thing I might have done differently is take a Kleenex with me when I went outside.  It was so good to connect with so many people . . . even if it was at a distance.  I think my eyes might have even leaked a few times!!  I loved being a part and still do of this awesome school district.  I guess once a teacher and a Golden Hawk, always a teacher and a Golden Hawk!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!!
