Work Of Art

Who knew Work of Art could make such a cool snowman!! I saw this as I was browsing through Pinterest last week.

Today has been an interesting day to say the least!!  I can happily say that my bank account has not been hacked (a distinct possibility after a 3:00 AM phone call), I can hear just fine (after an unscheduled appointment . . . I just happened to be in the right place at the right time), and our house has not blown away (despite the seemingly constant high winds).     I am meeting friends at the Mexican restaurant for supper before they come over to stamp. Life is good!!

For Your Country

As I was blog surfing this morning I saw a card that used a layout similar to this with the stars and stripes. In honor of Veterans Day, I immediately knew I wanted to try it with this stamp set and red, white, and blue.

It is very hard to tell in this picture but the card base is Night of Navy.  And yes, I did mean for the corners to be curled.  Because of the way you have to put it through the Big Shot to get the stars and stripes the corners get crunkled a little bit, so I decided to incorporate it into the design of the card.

Embellished Ornaments

Here is another one of those red glimmer ornaments that have sat on my stamping table for a couple of weeks.

This was such an easy card to throw together and would be one that is easily duplicatable if you had a lot of cards to make.

Today is my volunteer day at Hospice and running errand day when I am done. I hope to get home in enough time to spend some time in my stamping room getting ready for some upcoming craft shows.  I have a ton of ideas in my head, but only limited time and energy.  Less energy than time, but oh well!!

Reason For The Season

I think I have mentioned that one of the blogs I follow is by a stamper named Stampercamper.  This is one of the cards she had on her blog that I found when I was surfing.  I love this poinsettia, but so far have only colored it in.

I have sort of done things totally backwards today.  It started off with Hanna calling about a flat tire.  Then we decided to go out for breakfast this morning, and then I ran to Iowa City for computer ink that I needed so I could run off my instructions for tonight.  So I am just now getting around to my blog.  Going out for breakfast changed all of my plans . . . but it was a good change.  I am just glad I had as much done and ready for tonight as I did.  All that remains to do is to load the car.

Six Sayings

Here is another one of the Christmas cards I made the other day.  This sparkling ornament was left sitting, lonely, on my stamping table for several weeks . . . since October 24, exactly.  I cut one of them out as everyone was here stamping Christmas cards, because someone wanted to know how easy it would be to cut one out of the glimmer paper.  

I think it made a pretty neat card, actually.

Reason for the Season

Yesterday I spent some time in my stamping room making some Christmas card samples for people to choose from if they would like to order some Christmas cards.  

This was one of the choices.  I sure do with they had a punch for that poinsettia because I do love it but it is a lot of fussy cutting!!

Wonderland

Today's card, which we also made at Technique Club last night, again comes from my Door County swaps.

Dawn brought this lovely card as well as telling us how she made it. I believe she found it on another demonstrator's website, but I lost the slip of paper she put in with her swap.

Snow Place

Inspiration for this card, which is one of the Technique/Stamp club cards for tonight comes directly from my Door County trip and Christy.

I changed up the trees in the background, but otherwise this is exactly like the one we made in Wisconsin at our shoebox swap.

It has been years if ever since I have made a waterfall card, so I decided it would be a great card for technique club.

A Cozy Christmas

I have started to gear up for a couple of craft shows I have coming up.  People are always looking for little stocking stuffers or Secret Santa gifts.

I have just the thing for them . . . .

I had been wanting to try these but the coffee to put in them can be kind of pricey.  I actually found the coffee on sale at the store a couple of weeks ago, (a super super deal) so I decided to go ahead and give it a try.  I usually do not buy a lot of extras when it comes to food and crafts, but this was such a good deal . . . what doesn't sell at the shows will always be used at home, because I go through a lot of coffee!!

 November Thankful Journal

November seems to be a month where people focus on thankfulness.  This year I decided to keep a thankful or gratitude journal.

I did use a retired stamp for my cover, just because it seemed to fit exactly what I wanted for my journal.

It is hard to believe it has been ten years since our lives changed forever, but we do have a lot to be thankful for!!

The small project life book is going to be awesome for my journal.  Be sure and check back this month as I will be sharing a page a day as well as a card idea!!

Today is my volunteer day at Hospice.  This afternoon I am planning on working on some orders I have had come in for Christmas things, however . . . if the weather is as nice as it was yesterday, I may just sit outside and read!!

Thankfulness is the theme of the month for November, so what better card to start the month than this one that everybody made last week.

Very simple card that could be used with a ton of different background papers.  I really like the way this one turned out.

Yesterday Hanna and I took a trip to US Cellular to see about getting her a new iPhone 6.  It turned out to be a 3 hour stop, but we each came away with a new iPhone 6Plus, a new tablet, phone covers, chargers galore, and several other accessories.  And the good news is that my monthly bill will be less than what I was paying before.  Too good to be true . . . that is what I am thinking but we shall see.  Hopefully this will alleviate some of the other issues and problems we have been having.  Time will tell.

We ended the day at a Halloween party at our daughter and son-in-law's house.  A good time was had by all, but it was a long day.

Today, Hanna and I are meeting Julie at the outlet mall for a little shopping before Hanna heads home.  What else would we be doing!!

When I get home I hope to work on a special project I have for the month of November, which I will be posting soon.

Last night's dinner was interesting to say the least.  It included great food and great company.

It also included a water bath, when the waiter dumped a whole glass of ice water in John's lap and a slight run in with a deer on the way home.  All in all we are all good.  It was only water . . . not hot, not sticky, and the car . . . well it only has a couple of small dents in the hood.  Life is good!!

This stamp set which we got at convention a couple of years ago is still a favorite of everyone.  This is one of the cards everyone made featuring a stamp set in the regular catalog.

I have always loved the combination of Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive.  I think Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green rank right up there as well.
