Incredible Like You

Today's card is one my friend, Susie, brought to her Million Dollar Celebration as a swap.  She designed this card with our friend, Judy, in mind.  These were Judy's favorite colors, and she was such a huge supporter of Susie, it was like she was part of the celebration although she is no longer with us.  Susie's words . . . not mine!!

Yesterday was a great day combining three of the things I love the most . . . family, food, and talking about stamping!!  After the vendor show I met, Julie, Jason, and John at HuHot and we had a wonderful birthday supper.  When I got home I curled up with my heating pad and a blanket as the venue for the vendor show was pretty cold most of the day.

I can hardly believe it but I think we may be able to have another Make-It-Monday tonight.  Other than being cold the sun is out and the roads are great.

Home To Roost

I decided at the last minute last night to take a simple make and take to the vendor fair today.  I had many pieces cut for kid's valentines that I did not use because of the weather.  You can see those here.  I decided to repurpose the pieces and came up with this simple note card.

I think it will be perfect for today because it is simple and will introduce people to stamping.  And the bonus is that I didn't have to cut anything new and am using up some pieces that I already have ready to go.

Birthday Cheer

Who needs a bright and cheery birthday card??  If you do then I have just the card for you!!

I haven't used much of the image side of the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper but I certainly have used the side with the patterns!!  It is very bright and cheery and so much fun!!  Once again, I didn't have the exact ribbon I wanted, so I colored in the Metallic Gold Trim Ribbon with my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend.  This is one of the cards everyone will be making at Make-It-Monday!

Painted Seasons

Last night we were finally able to hold our February Technique/Stamp Club.  The first Thursday of the month the weather was terrible and last Thursday was Valentine's Day so last was the night.

One of the techniques we were working with was using the Stamparatus to add more dimension to an image.   I think the ladies were excited to have another technique to use with their Stamparatus!!

Incredible Like You

Here is another one of the Incredible Like You cards I made a while back.  I made a similar one that you can see here, with slightly different colors and orientation.

I love that I can have almost any color ribbon I need by coloring in the ribbon with my Stampin' Blends.  Here I used a Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend to make a coordinating ribbon.

Incredible Like You

This is one of the cards I made a while back when I was playing with one stamp set a day.  I love the sentiments in this set . . . they are all equally cool!!

I am pretty sure I found this card or one like it on Pinterest.  This is not my usually color palette that I reach for when stamping but I really do like the combination.

Well Said

I saw this scrapbook layout on Pinterest and thought it would be the perfect beginning pages for my 2019 Moments scrapbook.   Everyday is a new adventure and this year I have some great adventures planned.

Of course the fact that it is black and gold made it extra special!!

My year numbers were fussy cut from the Broadway Bound Designer Series paper pack.  And of course the "hooray" and "time for a new adventure" from the Well Said bundle fit right in with the theme of my pages and scrapbook.

I sent my pictures up to be printed yesterday and then promptly forgot to pick them up when I was in Iowa City yesterday.

All Adorned

Another one of the new Sale-a-Bration items is a stamp set called All Adorned.  It has a combination of sentiments and design images and is pretty cool.  I love this particular sentiment in the set.

I have also used the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper with this as well as a new item that will be available March 1 . . . the Story Label punch.

This is a fancy fold card that and looks like this on the inside . . . perfect is you want to send a little message but don't want to write a ton!!

Today I have paired two of the new Sale-a-Bratin stamp sets together . . . Painted Seasons and All Adorned.  They are both pretty awesome!!!

Even though it seems like I have ribbon in every conceivable color, I didn't have just the right one I wanted for this card.  No problem . . . I just took the silver metallic trimmed ribbon and colored it with my Granny Apple Green Dark Stampin' Blend . . . and voila' . . . I have the perfect colored ribbon!!

I know this is really dating me . . . but our weather reminds me of a song that was popular when I was a kid . . . I'm Henry the VII I Am . . . the part of the lyrics that stick in my mind are . . . "little bit louder and a little bit worse".   The weather seems a bit that way to me as well . . . louder and worse with each verse that is added!!  I would like to think that today is the LAST verse!!

 Painted Seasons

This Painted Seasons Sale-a-Bration stamp set may soon become my favorite Sale-a-Bration set!!  It is just really really awesome!!

So . . . since there is more snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow I decided to get out and go to Iowa City even though I really didn't need much.  I decided to get while the getting was good.  Now I can be confined to the house again if the weather gets bad tomorrow.  I am really hoping that we can have Make-It-Monday on Monday night.  I think we might be able to fit it in between storms!!

I am continually reminded of how truly blessed our family really is and yesterday was no exception.  Hanna and Jake had a car accident yesterday morning when he was taking her to school.  They hit a patch of black ice, spun around, and flipped their car.

Believe it or not they came away only sore and bruised . . . truly blessed indeed.  Their guardian angel was truly looking out for them!!

Birthday Cheer

What a fun color combination for a birthday card!!  I have used the How Sweet It is Designer paper more for birthday cards than with the stamp set is was designed to coordinate with.  If fact, I don't even have the stamp set that coordinates with the paper.

One side of this paper has all of the sweet stuff on it and the other side has awesome colorful patterns like these!!

 

I usually don't stamp on the inside of my cards, but this sentiment was just about perfect!!

I was suppose to have an early morning dentist appointment today, but decided to reschedule it, since I didn't want to take off for Iowa City before they have had a chance to work on the roads.  I think they will be fine with a little sunshine and work, but the idea of leaving at 7:00 just did not appeal to me!!

Hello Cupcake

So here is the second set of pages I made for John's birthday photos.  I love this cupcake set and will love it even more in March when it has a set of dies to cut out the cupcake and the frosting.

I think I am going to put photos of the friends that came to celebrate with us on these pages.

This time I took the Botanical Butterfly paper and brayered Real Red Ink on the black and white check side.

The Celebrate You Framelits were the perfect compliment to the rest of the elements on the pages.

Hello Cupcake

So after copying a couple of scrapbook layouts directly I decided to branch out on my own and make a couple of layouts for John's surprise birthday party.  The girls had everything decorated with black and red buffalo check so I took my color scheme from that.

They had balloons all over the place that said . . . Vintage Dude . . . The Man . . . The Myth . . . The Legend . . . so of course I had to put that on my pages.

I have pictures ready to be picked up to put on my pages, but of course I have not been able to get to Iowa City to get them.

I was actually pretty pleased with the way they turned out!!

I am so tired of this weather . . . I just rescheduled my stamp night again for the third time.  Between the forecast, my icy driveway, and my sore body from falling on Saturday, it just seemed like the right decision.  The sand/salt mixture that they out on our driveway Saturday afternoon did help some but it is still not easy to get up or down.  I managed to go to the local grocery store this morning to get some of the basics that we had run out of . . . so now I think I can be snowed in another week!!

Well . . . I have hopes of maybe getting out of my driveway some time soon.  We had a delivery of salt and sand yesterday afternoon in anticipation of it melting the layer of ice.  I guess we shall see.  I can tell you I am tired of not being able to go anywhere . . . but I have a feeling even in I could get out of my driveway it would be slick underfoot no matter where I went!!

Geared Up Garage

I knew when I saw this stamp set  . . . Geared Up Garage . . . in the Occasions catalog, it would be one I would have to keep in my stash for ever.  Both of my son-in-laws are car guys so this will be the perfect set for their birthday and whatever cards!!

I am really kind of liking this scrapbooking thing.  These are more of the pages that I copied from the group I belong to on Facebook.  I think they turned out pretty cool.

Now I just need to get some pictures onto them!!

That is the hardest part for me . . . deciding which pictures to use and how to crop them!!  Hopefully this will help!!
