Sweet Thoughts Framed Art

I had a little time and energy to do some crafting yesterday.  I made one of the projects from the Stampin' Sisters' Retreat Weekend that I was unable to attend.  This piece of framed art uses the Sweet Thoughts Memory & More Card pack.

There is absolutely no stamping on this project at all.  It only uses the card pack.  The pack contains fifty decorated cards so as you can see there are many cards left,  In fact, I think this project uses less than half of one of the packs.  What a nice spring piece of artwork to brighten the day.

What a game!!  It was good to see the Hawks playing like we all know they can.  Now . . . to play like that on Monday night.

Today is going to be another crafting and basketball kind of day.  I actually got caught up on most of the laundry yesterday, so basketball and crafting it is!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Cap & Gown

Believe it or not, graduation season will be upon us before we know it!!  Today's card is a super simple card that is easily duplicatable and can be customized to the school colors of the graduate.

If you haven't seen these Everyday Details Dies you should give them a look.  The open dots around the outside of the rectangle are pretty cool.  Many of the shapes in this die set have the same look as this rectangle.  This was a swap I received and again I don't remember when or who it was from.  I think they have taken some of the Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds and rubbed some black ink over them to make them a little darker.  Super simple card and very easy to mass produce if you know a lot of graduates.

Today is definitely going to be a basketball-watching kind of day.  I am hoping the Hawkeyes play to their potential and we can come away with a win.  Either way, the are winners in my book!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Trusty Tools

Today's card is from a while back and features the stamp set, Trusty Tools, and the coordinating designer series paper that was a Sale-a-Bration item, Trusty Toolbox.  I have had this card for quite a while and have no idea where or who it came from.

.

The tools on this card are actually die-cut from the designer series paper, but you could do the same thing by stamping the tools from the stamp set, coloring them with your Stampin' Blends, and then die-cutting them.  The yellow yardstick designer series paper could be replaced with a piece of Regals 6" X 6" or a piece of the Let's Go Fishing Designer Series Paper.

I finally found the energy yesterday to finish unpacking my suitcase from my hospital stay.  There was nothing in it that I needed so it had just sat since I got home.  Today I hope to do some cardstock cutting and perhaps watch some of the Women's Basketball tournament if I can stay awake.

Stampin’ Up! March Paper Pumpkin Kit – Memorable Meadows

I got my March Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin’ Up! and finally had a few minutes to put it together.  It was a beautiful kit that created nine cards with coordinating pre-printed envelopes!

I love the wooden die cuts and the beautiful card fronts!  The purple vellum panels are so pretty too!

The kit included the Memorable Meadows exclusive stamp set, a Garden Green Stampin’ Spot, card bases, envelopes, embellishments and adhesives needed to create the cards.

I love the beautiful path on this card front!  The wooden leaves are beautiful too!

The daisies are so pretty on this card base!  I love the colors!

The little tree die cut on this card is awesome!  Love that these cards went together in a snap too!

The March Paper Pumpkin Kit came with a pretty bonus stamp set called Daisies For You.  It was a free gift for all subscribers…love a free bonus!

In no time at all I had nine beautiful cards all ready for sending.  I love my Paper Pumpkin Kits for quick crafting!!

Today and tonight is going to be a basketball watching kind of day and night.  The question is am I going to watch men's or women's basketball.  The answer is probably both.  I hope I can find some more kits to out together from my recliner while I am watching basketball.

Your Day to Shine Card Kit

I wanted to share one of the pretty new kits that Stampin’ Up! has in their Kits Collection.  It’s called
Your Day To Shine and it went together in a snap!  No stamping involved!  You can see all of the kits in the Kits Collection here.  The kits are available to everyone, no subscription required!

This kit creates nine pretty cards!  Six of the cards are standard A2 size cards and three are 3″ x 3″ cards!  And they all have coordinating envelopes!

The little butterfly is so pretty on this card, love the layering!

This card has such a pretty floral design, love the colors too!

The little 3″ x 3″ is so pretty and perfect for to go with any birthday gift!

Yay for having 9 quick and pretty cards ready to go in well under an hour!

Simply Zinnia

Today's card uses several Online Exclusive Products that are all in the Flowering Zinnia Suite.  This is a card I received in a card swap at the beginning of March.

There is quite a bit of coloring with the card but I do think it is worth it.  The flowers are so pretty once they are colored and shaded.

It also uses a retired sentiment and die cut for the sentiment but those would be easy enough to swap out with other products.  The ribbon has been colored with the same color of Stampin' Blend as the flower blooms.

Today was a laundry and basketball kind of day.  Tomorrow will be more laundry and then to watch the Hawkeye Women's team tomorrow night.  I may have to take a nap tomorrow afternoon so that I can stay awake in the evening for the game.

Ice Cream Swirl

Today's card is another one from back in early January and the Stampin' Sisters Demo Day that was snowed out.  It was a little cold for ice cream that day but the card is awesome.

A Flirty Flamingo card base was layered with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and then a piece of white cardstock that had been embossed with the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder.  A cone was die-cut and embossed out of Early Espresso cardstock and then the dip of ice cream was die-cut from white cardstock and colored with Flirty Flamingo and Early Espresso Stampin' Blends.  Three Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins were added as embellishments.

Naps and basketball were the name of the game yesterday and I don't think today is going to be much different.  Hopefully, it will warm up a little bit this week and then I will have more ambition because right now sitting all covered up with my blanket is about all I want to do!!

Ringed With Nature

Today's card is one from a local demo meeting I went to at the end of January right before I changed my residence to the hospital for a period of time.  I was so glad I was able to spend that day stamping with friends.  This card was made by my friend, Jenni.

I have had the Ringed With Nature stamp set since it first came out quite a while ago but have only used the sentiments and the poinsettia stamps.  And now it will be gone when the catalog retires at the end of April!!  Be sure and get yours today!!!

Today seems like the perfect day to put together new stamp sets and watch basketball, both men's and women's!!  I set my alarm for each game so that I don't get sidetracked and miss them!!  Can't wait to watch the Iowa Women's team again today!!

Stampin' Up! Birthday Sparkle Kit

Today I have an alternative card I made with the tags from the Birthday Sparkle Kit.  You can see the original kit post here and the other alternative card I made here.

I also created this tag just as the instructions in the kit showed.  I adhered the leftover die cut center from the frame card in the kit with Stampin’ Seal to a piece of Basic White cardstock and then to a Pecan Pie card base and then added the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals to finish this card.

Rock Star

Today's card comes from way back at the beginning of January . . . one of the cards they made at the Stampin' Sister's Demo Days that I was not able to go to because of the weather.

The Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper is all black and white.   Black & White papers are always so much fun to work with and this paper is no exception.  The guitar is colored with Stampin’ Blends, then fussy cut from the Designer Paper.

I am trying something new today in my post.  At the bottom of the post, you will see a revolving carousel of products used in today's card.  If I have done it right it should take you right to my online store where you can purchase the product (make sure it says "Shopping with Lynda Wilson") or you can find a supply sheet that shows which products are used.  Keep your fingers crossed that I have done it correctly.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Sparkle Kit

Today I have an alternative card I made with the tags from the Birthday Sparkle Kit.  You can see the original kit post here.

This was originally designed as one of the tags in the kit.  I created the tag just as the instructions showed and then simply adhered it to a piece of Basic White cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This was then adhered to a base of Pecan Pie cardstock.   I stamped the confetti image from the Birthday Sparkle stamp set (included in the kit) around the tag and the card was done!

Accessories:  Birthday Sparkle Kit

It's been a while since I have said this but today is going to consist of running a few errands here in Wellman.  Yes, you heard that right . . . I got clearance to drive in Wellman so sometime today I am making a trip to the grocery store and also the post office!!  Otherwise, I am hoping to stay awake for the Haawkeye basketball game tonight!!

Softly Sophisticated

Today I have another Softly Sophisticated card from a demo meeting back at the end of January.  Again, I know it was a completed or shoe-box swap, but I don't know who brought it.

This Forever Love Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous!!  It features Petal Pink, Moody Mauve, and Pretty Peacock.  Half of the patterns also feature a gold patterning similar to what you see here.

Stamps: Softly Sophisticated (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Pretty Peacock, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Forever Love, Gold Foil
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Accessories: Lifetime of Love Dies, Thoughtful Expressions Dies,
Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder, (Sale-a-Bration)
Pretty Peacock & Gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon,
Stampin Dimensionals

I am trying something new today . . . I sat down yesterday afternoon wrote out several posts and scheduled them to be posted at about 7:00 in the morning.

Today I have another check-up.  It is crazy to me to think that transplant day was only four weeks ago!!  I am already at Day 27 so these 100 days may go faster than I think they will.  It will probably take me that long to get my stamping room in order again!!

Kindest Expressions

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  What are you going to do to celebrate??  I will probably do what I have been doing for the last four weeks . . . resting and recuperating.  I might throw in a little basketball today!!

I thought this was the perfect card for today.  I love how you can take a couple of patterns from the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper and know that they will coordinate and look good together.  Add some embellishments and your card is done!!

Stamps: Kindest Expressions
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic Black Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Glorious Gingham
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Classic Matte Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is probably going to be another low-key rest kind of day.  I would like to do a little stamping or at least assembling of some of the kits I still have left that I did not take to the hospital.  And I want to watch the NCAA Basketball Tournament Selection Programs . . . both the men's and the women's.  I hope I can stay awake that long!!

Softly Sophisticated

Today's card uses some Sale-A-Bration products, but I still wanted to share it with you.  It is one I received as a swap card (either finished or shoe-box) right before I landed in the hospital with my blood clots.

I surely do wish there was the possibility that this embossing folder would be in the new catalog, but I know that is not possible.  It is so light and subtle, it is just perfect as a background.  I am sure that there will be something in the new catalog that will be just as good if not better.

Stamps: Softly Sophisticated (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight, Calypso Coral, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Flight & Airy (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Garden Green, Calypso Coral, Boho Blue
Accessories:  Thoughtful Expressions Dies,
Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder (Sale-a-Bration),
Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

For some reason, the longer I am at home, the later my days are getting started!!  I know for one thing I am sleeping later and also trying to eat a healthier breakfast than sweets.  I guess it is what it is . . . a late start is better than no start!!!  LOL

Let's Chat

Today's card is one left from January at the Sister's Demo day that I was unable to go to because of the weather.  A fun card using an old-fashioned telephone that I am not even sure kids today even know about.

This is a super simple card with minimal stamping on it. I realized when I went to take photos that I had forgotten to stamp the black outline around the phone and the receiver so just pretend that you see it there!!  Otherwise, it is just finished off with Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots for embellishment.

Stamps: Let's Chat
Cardstock: Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Lighter Than Air
Ink: Memento Black, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories:  Banners Pick a Punch, Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

It's been an interesting couple of days at the Wilson household.  Yesterday the day started with a bang.  John bit his tongue at some point in the middle of the night and we could not get it to stop bleeding.  After a call to the doctor and Jason, off they went to have it looked at.  There really wasn't much they could do other than to get it to stop bleeding.  Hopefully, it will be better this morning.  I'm not sure I like being this helpless and unable to drive when the need arises.  As my mom used to say "this too shall pass."

Hooray For Surprises

Today's card is from back in January from the Stampin' Sisters Demo Day.  I love the dainty pastel colors used in this card.  If you have a girl that likes pinks and purples, then this is the card for you.

We started with a base of Basic White Thick cardstock.  After stamping the sentiment with Memento Black ink on the upper right-hand corner of the Fresh Freesia cardstock it was adhered to the card base.  The Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper was adhered to the Lemon Lolly cardstock and wrapped with Lemon Lolly Baker's Twine.  A circle was die cut from Lemon Lolly with the Stylish Shapes Dies.  A 2 3/8" circle was punched from Basic White cardstock.  The birthday cake was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink.  The candle was stamped off using Fresh Freesia and the flame was stamped using Lemon Lolly.  Add some Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots and pop up the circles with Stampin' Dimensionals and you are done.

Stamps: Hooray For Surprises
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly,  Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Lighter Than Air,
Ink: Memento Black, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly,
Accessories:  Hooray For Surprises Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies,
2 3/8" Circle Punch, Baker's Twine Three Color,
Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a great day.  I started the day with a doctor's appointment that went quite well.  They told me I could actually walk through a small grocery store.  They were hoping it would stimulate my appetite and it did.  I worked on some stamping in the afternoon and joined Zoom book club last night.  I also managed to stay awake all day.  Let's hope today is as good.

Lovely & Sweet

Today's card is one I received in a swap back in January made by my friend, Dawn Klein.

This card does use a couple of Sale-a-Bration items  . . . The Softly Sophisticated stamp set and embossing folder, but you could easily swap those two items out!!!  I think she has also added some flecking using the Pecan Pie Stampin' Write Marker.

Stamps: Lovely & Sweet, Softly Sophisticated (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Pecan Pie, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Nature's Sweetness
Ink: Pecan Pie, Versamark, Pecan Pie Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories:  Lovely & Sweet Dies, Nested Essential Dies,
White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder, (Sale-a-Bration)
Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today was a morning check-up at the doctor.  My friend, Luetta, picked me up, and away we went.  The labs and appointment went well and I needed no extra blood products, which should be the case from here on out unless something goes horribly amiss.  The main issue is the fact that I am not eating and lost another 4 pounds since Thursday.  Now I can certainly afford to lose the weight, but now is not the time.  She even suggested a trip through a non-busy grocery store during a non-busy time to get some fresh fruits and vegetables to try to stimulate my appetite.  I think this has to be a first where my doctor is telling me to eat candy and nuts . . . specifically Peanut Butter M & M's as Peanut Butter has a lot of protein.  It seems to have worked at least for today because they are the first thing that has really appealed to me and they taste good!!  I go back again in another week for another check-up.

December Paper Pumpkin Kit--All The Best

Monday afternoon before I left the hospital I was able to do a little more paper crafting.  I had one kit left that was buried in one of my bags so I decided I had best get it done. It’s such a pretty one, I am hoping to pick up a few refills!  This kit is called All The Best and it creates 9 cards with coordinating envelopes and a pretty acetate box for gifting them!

Love the gold accents and the pretty spring designs!

Love the framing on this card and the little blue gems are beautiful!

The card base on this card is printed on front and back and it’s so pretty!!

Love the layering on this card and the envelope finishes the card off perfectly!

Check out the sweet acetate box with a belly band that coordinates too!  And love that I’ve got 9 pretty cards that are ready to mail out in a matter of minutes!

It was definitely good to get home late Tuesday afternoon.  However, I have done nothing but sleep every day other than Thursday.  I had a lab appointment to check my platelets and blood levels.  I am happy to say while they weren't within normal limits, they are trending upward and holding their own without any extra transfusions.  Other than that I have been listening to my body and doing a LOT of sleeping!!!

Hanna, Jake, and the kids are coming for a window visit today.  They had planned on coming over for the day and Hanna would visit me in the hospital while Jake and the kids stayed here.  When I was able to come home early we just changed it to a through-the-window visit.  Thank goodness the sun is shining and it is not raining.
