City Sites Card Kit

Among other things yesterday I had some time to put together my other new card kit . . . City Sites.

Make all-occasion cards with the City Sights Kit. Featuring artistic cityscape designs in neutral colors, this kit has a masculine charm, and is great to anyone dreaming of big city skylines. Craft like an artist using the different elements from this kit. It’s easy to wish a happy birthday or send a friendly note to a special someone!

This kit includes:
  • City Sights Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Pebbled Path Stampin’ Spot
  • 8 printed card bases
  • 8 printed envelopes
  • Folded card: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
  • Printed shaped die cuts and printed sentiments
  • Corrugated cardstock accent pieces
  • Copper metallic embellishments
  • Enough adhesive to complete projects
  • Product colors: Basic Beige, Basic Black, Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Misty Moonlight, Pebbled Path

It actually took me about 30 minutes to stamp and put all eight of these cards together.  And while I was watching TV!

Book read for book club tonight, bags all dropped off at Goodwill from my closet cleanout, rhubarb crisp baked . . . time to make another to-do list.  I am hoping to spend most of this week working in my stamping room.  I have been pecking it away in small increments but now that everything else is done I can spend some solid time sorting and organizing and pitching junk since we have an empty dumpster again!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Adventurous Sky

Today's card is the last of last week's Cards in the Mail.  Like most of the cards I have shared lately, this is another one I made with Susie.

I didn't take a photo to show it, but this is actually a Z-fold card.  They have become one of my favorite fun folds and I think they just add a little more interest to the card.  There are several  patterns of aviation designs to choose from.  The maps, blueprints, textured clouds, and sketched planes are fitting for aviation, military, outdoor, or adventure-themed cards.  Be sure and check it out!!

Yesterday was a super busy day and everybody got a lot accomplished.  The first project they tackled was going from this, minus the snow. . .

to this . . .

Now I can at least grill if I feel like it and the sunshine can again come in my kitchen window.  It will be much more pleasant doing dishes when I can see the outdoors as opposed to the dirty tin roof that was blocking my view.

The next project was to start getting John's studio somewhat in order and the mess in front of it cleaned up.  It went from this minus the snow . . .

to this.  Some things he just could not get rid of . . . the like long pieces of wood and the plywood.  "I might be able to make something out of them!!"  So they will stay until we start in again in June.

Since I couldn't really help do anything, Hanna asked me if I wanted to go plant shopping and she would plant flowers in the flower be on the south side of the house.  So away we went.

She selected a variety of colorful perennials that should bloom most of the summer once they get going.

The trick will be . . . can I keep them alive!!!  I guess we will wait and see.

After the busyness of yesterday, I think today is going to be more of a low-key day with a lot of resting and sitting!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Hooray For Surprises

Today's card is another one I made with Susie a couple of weeks ago.  It is one everyone who got a Cards in the Mail packet will be making this week.

This card showcases the five new In-Colors . . . Petunia Pop, Shy Shamrock, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, and Summer Splash.  I love how all of the colors look good together this year.  I would be hard-pressed to say which one is my favorite.  Have you picked one yet?

I may never get rid of my Decorative Circle Punch.  It is one I used a lot and I love it!!  Hopefully, something else grabs my eye and I will learn to love that product as much as I do this punch.

Hanna, Jake, and the kids are coming over today and we are going to start cleaning up the yard and John's studio.  I guess I should say they are going to start on it.  I think I am grounded from cleaning for a few more weeks.  I guess there are some advantages to 100 days thing!!  LOL

Hello Hollyhocks

I had a bit of time yesterday and a clear enough head that I was able to put together one of the new kits that was released the first of May.

Brighten up someone’s day with the Hello Hollyhocks Kit! With colorful hollyhock designs, this kit’s all-occasion cards can help you send a friendly hello or a note of thanks to flower-loving friends and loved ones. Pair the desired sentiment, designed die cuts, and images from the kit to quickly create timeless cards.

The kit  includes:

* Predesigned projects
* Step-by-step instructions
* Precut pieces (No prep work! Get right to crafting)
* Make 9 cards
* 9 printed card bases
* 9 printed envelopes
* Folded card: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (14 x 10.8 cm)
* Printed die-cut images and labels
* Adhesive-backed sparkle gems
* Enough adhesive to complete project

The colors used in this kit are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pretty Peacock.

Which card is your favorite?   I completed all 9 of these cards in about 30 minutes.  I love that I have 9 cards ready to go  for three different occasions.

Today is still going to be a no-driving day for me.  I got along really well sleeping last night without the benefit of the muscle relaxer, but when I am up and moving around, it's not so good.  I am trying to hold out to see if I really need to take one . . . it's not like I have a lot of stuff I need to do . . . so I may just sit with the heating pad and no meds.

So Sincere

Today's card is another of this week's Cards in the Mail.  It uses the scraps of paper left over after making this Card in the Mail.  I love when it happens that I can use up my scraps.

I also love the black and gold combination but you could pull out other flowers by changing the color of both the base of the card and the layering pieces.  The 2" Circle Punch is still current in the On-Line Exclusives which is a great thing.  This set has a lot of awesome sentiments in many cool fonts.  Add some Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems and pop your sentiment up on dimensionals and you are done.

Today looks to be another dreary day.  Since it is so dreary and I took a muscle relaxer, it seems like a good day to put together the two new Stampin' Kits that were delivered late yesterday afternoon.  Stay tuned and check back tomorrow to see how they turned out.

Layering Leaves

Today I am sharing one of this week's Cards in the Mail that I made a while back when I went to stamp with Susie. The sunshine today reminded me of this bright and happy card.

This card uses the Spotlight on Nature Dies, but you could certainly substitute circle punches if you do no own these dies.  The Glimmer Paper flower accent certainly adds a bit of bling.

For the past three days, I have been experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain, which has been making it difficult for me to carry out my daily activities. Yesterday, I decided to see a doctor to ensure that there wasn't anything serious going on. As it turns out, it's just a strained muscle. I'm not sure how I managed to strain a muscle when all I was doing was sitting in a recliner, but that's what happened!  Muscle relaxers, Tylenol, and Lidocaine patches have helped and at least today I can function . . . although the muscle relaxers definitely relax me.  We shall see how long I can stay awake!!

Unbounded Love

I finally got a chance to make my own card with products from the new catalog, raher than have someone design an cut the pieces.  This is one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

I think I am going to like this new color . . . Basic Beige.  It is a great addition to the Neutrals Family.  Here I have paired it with Basic Black, Pebbled Path, and very Vanilla to make the stripes beneath the embossed cardstock.  I think they look great together.  I had a lot of the black and white gingham checked ribbon left from last year, so I got it out to compare to the Basic Black and Very Vanilla Gingham Ribbon from this year and there is a definite difference.  For this card I much preferred the one with the Very Vanilla.

I picked up the remaining baskets I had ordered for my closet this morning from the Post Office. As soon as they opened, I rushed to get them and immediately put them to use. I used them to organize my newly weeded clothes. You can tell that I am a Hawkeye fan by the number of gold and black shirts I own. They even have their own basket now, so I will always know where to find them.

Graduation Cards

Yesterday when I was looking for something else I came across some graduation cards I had made a couple of years ago.  Although they use a retired stamp set (Well Said) and retired embellishments (Gold Faceted Gems), they could certainly be spruced up with current products!!  If I had more energy I would have done that!!

The one thing I love about this card and layout is that you can personalize it by using the graduate's school colors.  It is also appropriate for a male or female graduate.  They are super simple to make so you can mass-produce them pretty easily.  It seems like some years you need a lot of graduation cards and other years not so many!!

It was certainly nice to see the sun yesterday!  I would take the sunshine anytime over the dreary rain.  My goal for today is to finish in my closet and then move on to organizing in my stamp room again.  I will HAVE to take a break this afternoon to watch or listen to the Cubs.    Hopefully, I can stay awake!!

Gone Fishing

Today's card is one I received in a swap quite some time ago.  In fact, it has been so long ago I have no idea when I got it!!

There is a lot of die-cutting and fussy work on this card, but it would be so worth it for the right person!!   At least there are stamps to color in the fishing equipment instead of having to color with Stampin' Blends.  This card would work not only for birthdays but also for Father's Day or retirement.

Yesterday was a sleep-all-day kind of day so today needs to be a get-something-done kind of day.  I have one more section of my closet/clothes that I need to go through so I may try to get that done today.  I have an appointment late this afternoon in Iowa City so I could make a Goodwill run before that if  I get done sorting!!

Feathered Flight

All of the rain we are getting today makes me think of ducks for some reason, which in turn reminded me of this card that we made at Susie's a couple of weeks ago.  There is enough rain in the puddles out there that the ducks might think it is a lake and try to swim in it.

Both the Feathered Flight and the Textured Timber stamp sets are Online exclusives and you can see them here and here!!  They are not in any catalog, only in the Online Store.  This is a great masculine card and could be used for about any occasion.

Today might be a curl up with my blanket and read kind of day.  I have already been through the pants and crop pants portion of my closet this morning before I sat down to do this post.  I think I will wait till the rain lightens up to take my Goodwill bags out to the vehicle, though!!  One more section of my closet and then I am done going through all of my clothes!  What a job, but it does feel good to have it done!!

Loveliest Tree

Does this tree look familiar?  It is in a new stamp set called Loveliest Tree but it certainly reminds me of one of the trees in one of my favorite sets that retired quite a while ago . . . Lovely as a Tree.

The woodgrain designer series paper on the left-hand side of the card is from the paper pack, Country Woods.  This card does use a couple of now retired products. . . the Double Oval Punch and Cork Rounds.

The two different colors on the tree are achieved by coloring the stamp with  Garden Green and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers.  This is a technique we used a lot years ago but not so much anymore!!

Today is going to be a rest day . . . for some reason I am exceptionally tired today so I decided to listen to myself and rest!!

Cap and Gown

Not quite sure where the time has gone but graduation season is upon us!!  How fun it would be to customize your card to your graduate's school colors!!

This gold acetate paper is really neat. It has gold stars on one side and silver stars on the other. Additionally, there are three different patterns available: stars, balloons, and streamers. If you're interested, please note that you only have until tonight to place an order for this paper.  I did cut the graduation hat out with my paper snips.  The big stars were also punched out with a retired star punch.

Today is the day . . . I think it is supposed to be sunshiny all day.  I plan to lather myself with sunscreen and sit outside and read my book club book!!!  I can hardly wait.

There is no card of the day and today's post is late because I had an appointment with a Retinal Lymphoma Oncology Doctor first thing this morning.  Everything checked out A-Okay, they are just being cautious and checking out everything to ensure I stay healthy.  However, they had to dilate my eyes and I still can't see very well.  Well enough to copy and paste, but not well enough to do much typing!!

Circle Sayings

How about another pack of cards using a soon-to-be-retired (like two days) stamp set, Circle Sayings.  This is also one of the last projects from the cruise I didn't get to go on last January. I think there might be one more that I hope to finish up today!!

All four cards use the dot pattern from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders which is now sold out.  They also use the 2" Circle Punch and the Stylish Shapes Dies.  The 3/8" Sheer Ribbon Combo pack has been used as an accent on all of the cards.

I wouldn't have thought to combine Lemon Lime Twist with Azure Afternoon, but it's actually a really cool color combo. Stamping with other people has its benefits, as you get to see what they can come up with that you might have never thought of.

The Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly color combination reminds me of a baby card with soft pastels.

What an awesome message to send to someone, just because!!  One thing my journey has shown me over the last eight months is just how much a card means to let someone know you are thinking of them!!  I still have a sack full of cards I have received and plan to put them all in my Lymphoma Journey scrapbook when I get it done.

I know we need the rain, but I think we have had enough for a while and I know we have had enough severe weather lately to last for a very long time!!

I am planning on working in my closet a little today to get some more stuff ready to take to Goodwill after my eye appointment tomorrow morning.  You would not believe how much you can get done when you just peck away at it a little at a time!!!

Inked & Tiled

Today's post features a set of cards that was a cruise project.  It is a set of four fun fold cards using the Inked & tiled Stamp set.  I decided that I had better get it shown as many of these products are retiring on Tuesday at midnight.

What a fun bunch of cards to use yourself or to make and give as gifts!!

I know it won't last long but it sure is good to see the sun shining when I look out the window!!  I think it has rained constantly since I got the okay Thursday to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine.  Maybe Monday and Tuesday will be my days for enjoying the outdoors!!
