Circle Sayings

How about another pack of cards using a soon-to-be-retired (like two days) stamp set, Circle Sayings.  This is also one of the last projects from the cruise I didn't get to go on last January. I think there might be one more that I hope to finish up today!!

All four cards use the dot pattern from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders which is now sold out.  They also use the 2" Circle Punch and the Stylish Shapes Dies.  The 3/8" Sheer Ribbon Combo pack has been used as an accent on all of the cards.

I wouldn't have thought to combine Lemon Lime Twist with Azure Afternoon, but it's actually a really cool color combo. Stamping with other people has its benefits, as you get to see what they can come up with that you might have never thought of.

The Bubble Bath and Lemon Lolly color combination reminds me of a baby card with soft pastels.

What an awesome message to send to someone, just because!!  One thing my journey has shown me over the last eight months is just how much a card means to let someone know you are thinking of them!!  I still have a sack full of cards I have received and plan to put them all in my Lymphoma Journey scrapbook when I get it done.

I know we need the rain, but I think we have had enough for a while and I know we have had enough severe weather lately to last for a very long time!!

I am planning on working in my closet a little today to get some more stuff ready to take to Goodwill after my eye appointment tomorrow morning.  You would not believe how much you can get done when you just peck away at it a little at a time!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Inked & Tiled

Today's post features a set of cards that was a cruise project.  It is a set of four fun fold cards using the Inked & tiled Stamp set.  I decided that I had better get it shown as many of these products are retiring on Tuesday at midnight.

What a fun bunch of cards to use yourself or to make and give as gifts!!

I know it won't last long but it sure is good to see the sun shining when I look out the window!!  I think it has rained constantly since I got the okay Thursday to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine.  Maybe Monday and Tuesday will be my days for enjoying the outdoors!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Unbounded Love

How about another sneak peek of a stamp set in the new catalog.  Unbounded Love is a sentiment stamp set that has some pretty awesome fonts.  This is another one of the cards I made with Susie last weekend and is also in the week's Cards in the Mail.

Along with the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper that is carrying over to the new catalog, this card uses both the Paper Butterfly Accents and the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, both of which are carrying over.  The embossing folder that was used on the top portion of the card is the Cross Hatch pattern, which was one of the folders in the Basics 3D Embossing Folders, which os now sold out.  The butterfly accents have been colored with some Gorgeous Grape Ink and a Blending Brush.

One whole month . . . 30 days . . . I can hardly believe it!!  I do not have to go back to the doctor for a whole month.  Between my lab work and the MRI from the other day they think I am doing great so are springing me for a longer period of time.  By the time I go back my 100 days of isolation will just about be done!!  Woohoo . . . can you say happy camper!!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Enjoy the Rhythm

Today's card is another one I made with Susie last weekend.  It combines some old things with some new things . . . a retiring stamp set and paper, Enjoy the Rhythm and the Rock & Roll Designer Series Paper, with some new things, Round We Go Dies.

Like a lot of the Cards in the Mail this card is no different . . . the Designer Series Paper does all the work for you.  Add a couple of embellishments, some ribbon, and a sentiment and you are good to go!!

My MRI went very well yesterday with good results . . . no evidence of recurrence/residual disease.   I am now sitting and waiting to see the doctor.  My first appointment this morning was at 7:00 AM, I have another one at 8:00 AM and the last one at 9:15AM so I think a nap will be in my future this afternoon.

Comforting Thoughts

I have been needing a lot of "thinking of you" cards lately, and this is the perfect one. The Comforting Thoughts stamp set is an excellent choice for making these types of cards. It includes many comforting thoughts, so the name is fitting.

I think the product that I will miss the most is the Double Oval Punch, as it is retiring. I have a couple of them, and I doubt that I will ever get rid of either one of them. They are the perfect size for sentiments, and I love the layered look they provide. This card is one of the ones that I made with Susie and is also one of this week's Cards in the Mail.

Yesterday was a very productive day.  I weeded through my pajamas, shoes, purses, and wallets and have several bags ready to go to Goodwill.  I have an appointment for a restaging MRI tomorrow afternoon so I will drop them off then.  As well as I have been feeling I can't imagine that this MRI is going to show anything other than the fact that there is a brain in my head.

Country Birdhouse

Today's Card in the Mail is another one I made with Susie over the weekend.  It is a sneak peek of a sentiment stamp set that is in the 2024-2025 Idea Book and Catalog from a set called Country Birdhouse.

We utilized a designer series paper from the latest Idea Book and Catalog. You may feel like the designer series paper looks remarkably familiar and you're not wrong. It is the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper that is being carried over from the previous year's catalog. Apart from that, the card is quite simple to make - just cut the cardstock and stick the card together.

Yesterday ended up being a read all day kind of day but I did finish my book club book before book club last night.

Today I am hoping to gather up some Goodwill stuff that I can drop off tomorrow when I go for my MRI.  I have figured out how I can safely drop stuff off so I am taking advantage of my time here at home to clean some things out.  I took some stamping things last week and this week I am planning on taking some clothes that I no longer wear or that are too big now.

Heartfelt Hexagon

I am grateful to Susie for providing cards that I can use for this week's Cards in the Mail. We spent Sunday afternoon together stamping and made several cards that will be in this week's packet.

This card uses the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch which is unfortunately on backorder till the middle of May.  You will want to be sure to get yours as soon as they come in because I am sure they will go out of stock again.  The Bough Punch which is also used on this card is backordered until May 20th.  The best thing about this card is its versatility.  It could be used for any occasion depending on the sentiment you choose.

Read, read, read . . . that is what I am doing today to try and get my book club book finished by 7:00 tonight.  I read last night until my Nook kept hitting me in the face since I was falling asleep while reading.  Hopefully, it will go well!!!

Layering Leaves

Today's cards are another packet that I got finished up this last week that was from the Stamp, Crop, & Cruise that I did not go on in January.

All of the cards feature the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper and the Layering Leaves stamp set.  It surely does feel good to be finishing up some of these projects!!

The first card features cardstock in Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy. The Glittered Organdy Ribbon, which is retired, was colored with a Night of Navy Stampin' Blend to match the card, as were the Iridescent Pearls.

This card features a unique color combination that I wouldn't have thought of, but it turned out great. Although it appears black in the picture, the accent pieces are actually Night of Navy on a Pecan Pie card base. Once again, the Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Pearls have been colored using a Night of Navy Stampin' Blend.

Pretty Peacock has become one of my favorite colors. It's a unique combination of blue and green. The Organdy Ribbon and Pearls were also colored with a Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blend.

Although this card may resemble Night of Navy, it is actually Blueberry Bushel. The ribbon and pearls were colored using matching Stampin' Blends like the other cards in the series.

I really like the final card in this series, it's my favorite. It combines Berry Burst and Basic Black cardstock and has many layers that work well together. Just like the other four cards in the series, the ribbon and pearls are colored with coordinating Stampin' Blends.

Joan was very productive yesterday, she managed to finish all of the cruise projects by stamping a lot. However, I didn't manage to do much, as I still have two cards left to complete. I plan to finish them sometime this week. During my journey, I have learned to pay attention to my body, and when it tells me to stop because I'm tired, I listen to it. Therefore, while Joan finished up her cards, I sat and visited with her.

My goal for today is to finish the book for the Zoom Book Club meeting tomorrow night. I still have about 150 pages to go, so I hope to complete it by tomorrow.

Delicate Forest

I have been dying to play with the new In-Colors and last night was the night I finally made time to do it.

I used the tallest tree from the Delicate Forest stamp set and black embossing powder to showcase the five new colors.  The trees are heat embossed in black and the ground was created using both stamping in black and heat embossing in black.  I then used Versamark Ink to get some tone-on-tone color on these cards.

First up is Peach Pie.  This color is going to be a great addition to our color line.  I can't wait to try and pair it with some of our blues  . . . Misty Moonlight, Pool Party or Lost Lagoon.

Petunia Pop is such a fun color! This pinky purple just might be my new best friend! It's a shade right between Berry Burst & Bubble Bath and is going to look fantastic with yellow.

Shy Shamrock is anything but shy.  Hopefully this color is sure to bring us some good luck! It is a bright & bold green and I'm looking forward to using it a lot. Matching it with other brights like Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon & Coastal Cabana is sure to be a winner.

Pretty in Pink is a color that was available previously. I was sorry when it retired several years ago and am thrilled that it is now back.

Summer Splash really does make me think of summertime and splashing in a pool! It's deeper and darker than Coastal Cabana, but has a similar feel. It plays well with all of the other new In-Colors as well as some of the existing colors we have like Flirty Flamingo.

So . . . which of the new In-Colors is your favorite??

Yesterday ended up being a pretty productive day.  I finally got all of the stamping stuff that was in the kitchen put away or at least in my stamping room.  I took pictures of a bunch of cards for posts in the coming days.  I took John to the doctor and sat in vehicle and read while he was inside.  When we got home I was going to just sit but then decided I really wanted to get this set of cards made so did that as well.  Energy was not a problem yesterday!!  I am hoping today is the same as my friend, Joan, is coming down to finish up stamping the things we should have made on the cruise that we did not get to go on in January!!

Paper Pumpkin---Delicate Wings

I went to the post office late yesterday afternoon to mail out some Cards in the Mail packets and my April Paper Pumpkin boxes were waiting for me!!  I couldn't wait to get started on them!!

The first card was super simple to make.  The sentiment was already on the piece of cardstock so all I had to do was assemble the card.  The photo doesn't show it very well but the wings on this butterfly actually flutter a little when you open the card.

This card actually has an extra butterfly on it that I did not notice until just now!!  The upside-down butterfly must have stuck from one of the other cards I made.

This is probably my favorite of the three cards.  The colorful butterflies would cheer anyone up.

I love the special pop-up die-cuts and champagne foil that coordinate with an elegant color palette.  The coordinating decorated envelopes also add an elegant touch to these cards.

It took me about 45 minutes to make all 9 cards.

· Makes 9 cards: 3 each of 3 designs with 9 coordinating envelopes
· Precut paper pieces and butterfly designs
· Champagne foil images, sentiments, and labels
· Coordinating colors: Lost Lagoon, Moody Mauve, Basic Beige, Basic Gray (Classic Stampin’ Spot), Basic Black, champagne foil
· Partial pop-ups to make your cards shine!

Today is a doctor's visit day for John this afternoon.  Hopefully, we can get supper on the way home so I don't even have to think about it when we get home!!

Ice Cream Swirl

My friend, Susie came to visit me shortly after I got home from the hospital.  She brought me some of the cards she was doing at her monthly class to put together.  This is one of those cards.

What a perfect birthday card for the ice cream lover!!  The detail on the die-cut cone is pretty awesome.  It actually looks just like a cake cone.

I chose to use the oval birthday sentiment piece to make this an easel card.  What a great way to display your special birthday card.

As you can see it is also a funky fold card with only the center section of the card opening.  I think all of these little touches makes a card that much more special for the recipient.

Yesterday was a pretty chill day.  I did not do much other than watch and visit with Angie while she cleaned.  Ambition appeared to be lacking.  I am hoping I find it today as I do have some things I would like to get accomplished.  But as John says . . . there is always tomorrow.
