And they are done!!!!!

I am happy to say all 22 scrapbooks are done and ready to be handed out on Monday. As I was telling someone at school yesterday, this ended up being a much bigger project than I anticipated, but I just couldn't stop adding photos.  There are at least 21 photos and our class motto/poem in each scrapbook by the time you open all of the flaps.  This has been such an awesome class that I just couldn't quit!!!  I hope the kids and parents enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!!!

The room did not get dismantled yesterday, because the kids wanted to read and finish up a coupe of other projects.  We will have our work cut out for us today!

Have a great Friday!

Memories and Scrapbooks

Well.....all 22 of the scrapbooks are almost complete. I ended up taking more pictures of the kids than I thought I would so I added some other flaps and also a card with the remaining pictures.  Check back tomorrow for pictures of the inside.  Even though I gave them a card like this at the beginning of the year to symbolize the memories we were going to make, I thought it would be appropriate for the end of the year as well.

Stamps:  By The Tide, By The Seashore, Loving Thought (card)
Cardstock:  Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla (Card)
Not Quite Navy, River Rock, Very Vanilla (scrapbook)
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Not Quite Navy, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede

The field trip yesterday was awesome.  A big shout out to the staff at School of the Wild for an absolutely perfect day.  The weather was great and so were all of the activities.

Today is the day the kids and I dismantle the room.  We are going to take a couple of hours this afternoon and take down everything and put it away.  Hard to believe the year is almost over.

Have a great day!!

Thank U

Today's card was designed by Luetta and one that we made at our meeting a couple of weeks ago.  I love the background...can you guess how it was made?  We took a pencil eraser and white craft ink and randomly stamped the background.  Cool....right???

Stamps:  A Round Array
Cardstock:  Gumball Green, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White Craft Ink
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch,
1 3/4" Circle Punch,  1" Circle Punch,  7/8" Scallop Circle Punch,

Pray that the rain holds off for today.  This is our big All School Field Trip to the School of the Wild at Lake McBride Raptor Center.  The kids will be so disappointed if we don't get to do everything we have planned.

Have a great day!!

Hello, Hello

Today's card is another one that we made a couple of weeks ago at a stampin' meeting.  A demonstrator friend, Judy Hopping, brought this card for us to make (thanks Susie for the name) and I am also not 100% sure which stamp set the word hello came from.......but I love the card because it showcases all of the new In-Colors so well.

Stamps:  A Dozen Thoughts (I think)
Cardstock:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Naturals Ivory, Baked Brown Sugar,
Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding,  Strawberry Slush
Ink:  Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessories:  Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder,
Mosaic Punch,  7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch

It looks to be another rainy day....but then I could probably say that about any of the days this week!! Amazing that there are only five days left of school!!

Have a great day!!

Freedom is Not Free

Happy Memorial Day!!  Thank you to all of the men and women who have or are serving our country in the name of freedom!!

Our card today comes from a set called Words of Courage.

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Regals DSP
Ink:  Night of Navy, Crumb Cake

We usually go to the Memorial Day services at several of the area cemeteries, but I think in light of the weather we are going to forego that today.

Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day!

Sneak Peek...Simply Sketched

Today we have another sneak peek using the new hostess set...Simply Sketched.  It is by far one of the neatest hostess sets in a long time in my opinion.  This card was designed by a demonstrator friend, Nicole.

Cardstock:  baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Natural Composition DSP
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories:  Window Collection Framelits, Big Shot, 1 3/4" Circle punch,  Lace Doilies

Despite the rain the wedding yesterday was absolutely wonderful.  A great time to celebrate with friends and family the marriage of two great young people ready to start their life together!!!

Have a great day!

Happy Thoughts

Good Morning from cold and rainy Cedar Falls.  We are celebrating my nephew's wedding to a very special girl this afternoon.  I am sure his thoughts are happiest when she is in them.

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch, Field Flowers
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar
Accessories:  Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Blossom Punch,

Although I wish this was a beautiful sunny day, it will be perfect because they are perfect for each other.

Have a great day!!

Following My Own Advice

I think I need to take my own advice on this card!!! Yesterday was a very emotional day.....we had the staff retirement breakfast, an assembly where the kids sang songs and gave us all cards, and then I went to the cemetary to put some flowers out for Mom and Dad.  John and I then stopped at Carlos O'Kelly's for supper because I was too tired to cook.   Needless to say I slept very well last night!!!

This card is one that Hanna and I designed for our swap last Saturday.   This card is made with all new product as well.  Whether you dance in the rain, make lemonade, or wear rose colored glasses....everything will be okay in the end!!

Stamps:  Really Good Greetings (A very appropriate name cause there are some awesome stamps in this set)
Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Ink:  Coastal Cabana
Accessories:  Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Label Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

Today is another big day.  We are taking the kids swimming this afternoon.  It will be a beautiful day for that.  As soon as I get home, I am changing my clothes and John and I are jumping in the car to head to Cedar Falls to spend the weekend with my family as my nephew, Q, gets married!!  Should be an awesome weekend!!

Sneak Peek.....New Catalog

Saturday, Hanna, Luetta, and I went to a stamping meeting hosted by our friend Susie.  We got to play with a lot of things that are coming out in the new catalog. This is the swap that Hanna and I made to take with us, made with entirely new products.  I love this new color combination.....Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar. I even love the names.

Stamps:  Banner Greetings, Simply Sketched
Cardstock:  Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Soho Subway DSP
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Blush Blossom MArker
Accessories:  Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Tea Lace Paper Doilies

Today I have to be at school early...they are hosting a retirement breakfast for those of us retiring.  Martha, our school cook, generously offered to make the food for us.  She is a great cook and I am certainly looking forward to what she has made.

Have a great day!!

Sending Sympathy

The kitchen is semi-cleaned for another stamp class here tonight.  We will be making the same cards that the gals made in Iowa City on Monday night.  It was kind of hard for me to believe, but Monday night was the last night I will teach all day and do card class at night......no more getting ready only on Sundays......I will have my whole days to do it.  Now if only I will and not procrastinate!!

Today's card is one that I made several of.  Like I have said before...sympathy cards are not something I can sit down and make when I need them.......I have to have them made up before hand.
Stamps:  Just Believe, Petite Pairs
Cardstock:  Basic Black, First Edition DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Black Stazon
Accessories:  Natural 7/16" Trim

Looks like it will be another great day!  Enjoy!!!

Monogrammed Note Cards

This is another one of the cards that we made last night at stamp class......a very quick and easy way to make monogrammed stationary.  It would be super easy to switch out the DSP and find matching cardstock colors for a great variety.  It is also a great way to use up all those smaller scraps of Designer Series Paper that you might have laying around.

Stamps:  Lovely Letters
Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Tea For Two DSP
Ink:  Old Olive, Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
1 3/4"  Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

Tonight is the only free night I have this week.......not sure what I am going to do with it, but I am sure I will find something.  I should work on finishing up the kids scrapbooks......I can't wait to share them with you!!

Have a great day!

Thinking of You

It has been crazy busy around here, with Hanna home and getting ready for the last ten days of school.  I somehow missed posting over the weekend.  On the flip side, the cardstock is cut and the car is loaded for stamp class tonight.....despite no electricity last night when I was finishing up!  This is one of the cards we will be making.

Stamps:  Just Thinking
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Midnight Muse, Print Poetry DSP Stack, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Accessories:  Window Collection Framelits, Big Shot

I got a wonderful surprise yesterday.....Hanna had secretly contacted many people about a card shower for my retirement and then put them all in a big scrapbook for me.  She gave it to me yesterday because she is leaving for her camp counseling job this morning and won't be home till the middle of June.  It is a good thing she gave it to me in the privacy of my home, rather than out in public.  But I guess most of you have seen me cry before.

Have a great day!

Flower Bouquet

When the First Edition Designer Series Paper came out, I thought to myself...."What would I ever use that for?" Now I that it is getting ready to retire, I know what I can use it for and wish it was sticking around for another year.

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Basic Gray, First Edition DSP
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot,
Itty Bitty Punch Pack,  Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch

Today will be a busy day at school...all of the children will be helping to weed and clean up around the school grounds.  After we get that done we are putting down new mulch around the front of the building.  It always looks so nice when we are done with it and the children feel a sense of pride that they have helped.

Tonight will be busy as Hanna and I have to take back my rental car and then come home and finish up swaps for a stamping meeting tomorrow.  I hope my energy holds out!!

Celebrate

If you know me at all, you know that I am not really a drinking person, but these cards made with the Happy Hour stamp set are so cute, I can't help making them.

Stamps:  Happy Hour
Cardstock:  Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, International Bazaar DSP
Ink:Lucky Limeade
Accessories:  Apothecary Accents Framelits, Delicate Doily Sizzlets  L,
Fancy Fan Embossing Folder 2 1/2" Circle Punch,
 Stampin' Dimensionals

Last night Hanna and I set about to design two cards for this weekend.  We were only half successful....we got one designed and then ran out of gas.  Good thing we still  have two more nights to do the next one!!

Have a great day!

Imagine the Possibilities

I absolutely love the set "Word Play" which will be retiring in two weeks.  It has some of the neatest sentiments in it.  This is one of them.....Imagine the Possibilities.  That is certainly what I am sitting here doing now....imagining all of the possibilities of things I can do with my time when the next two weeks are over.  I have several things planned in the works so stay tuned!!
Stamps:  Field Flowers, Word Play
Cardstock:  Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Whisper White, Regals DSP stack
Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive

Yesterday certainly gave us a hint of summer. I must admit, I have missed the spring weather.....how often do you see snow and over 90 degree temps in the span of two weeks in May!!

Tonight is my night to design and stamp my two swaps I will need for this weekend when I go to a downline meeting.  I always enjoy these so much and I get to play with some of the new stuff in the new catalog!!  FUN!!!

Have a great day!

Forever and Always

Good Morning!  The season of weddings is almost upon us. We found this out last night when we went to find John a sports jacket to wear to the weddings we have coming up this summer.  The selection of jackets was very picked over but we did find one that he liked.

I love the simplicity of this card.   Normally I am not a fan of one layer cards but this one is quite elegant, I think.  And very simple if you have a lot of them you need to do.

Stamps:  Loving Thought
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Basic Pearl Jewels, Very Vanilla Seam Binding

Yesterday afternoon Hanna came out to school and helped me go through my desk one final time and to take down things hanging from the ceiling or high up on the wall. We thought it might be safer that way then having me climb on a ladder.  Hard to believe, but there are only fourteen days left!!!

Have a great day today.  it sound like it is going to be wonderful outside!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful mothers out there.
Today's card is one that I got in a swap at Saint Louis in March but have been waiting until today to post.

Stamps:  Secret Garden, Delightful Dozen
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Oval Collection Framelits, Secret Garden Framelits,
Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Big Shot,   Scalloped Oval Punch

We have a pretty low key day planned at our house. Other than a dinner out tonight, it will be a day of rest and relaxation.

Enjoy your day!

Grateful Heart

It has been a bit of a traumatic week at school, with a lot of changes for everybody there next year.  I particularly like the saying in this card......whether you are looking at the glass half full as opposed to half empty, making lemonade out of lemons,  or looking through rose colored glasses.....it all means the same thing.  Finding positives in any and every situation, always makes things better!!!

Stamps:  Summer Solstice, Pursuit of Happiness
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Designer Frames Folder, Big Shot, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Basic Pearl Jewels

I am off to finish gathering stuff up for our stamping day at the Wellman Library and for Kellie's stamping event this afternoon.  The cardstock is all cut, I just need to gather the supplies.

Have a great day!!

Congratulations!!

It is hard to believe it is Friday again already.  This week has flown by, and the weekend promises to be really busy.  Saturday I am stamping at the Wellman Library with 25 children to make Mother's Day and Father's Day cards and then I am headed to Iowa City to stamp with Kellie and her friends.

Stamps:  Fabulous Florets
Cardstock:  Pool Party, Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight
Ink:  Old Olive, Black Stazon, Not Quite Navy
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Scallop Oval Punch,
Blender Pen, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon

Hanna made it home safely yesterday with a car absolutely loaded.  The good news is that everything fit and I did not have to go to Pella last night to help her bring things home.  The bad news is that my car is still loaded with everything I brought home on Sunday. Hopefully tonight we can get all of that unloaded and at least into the house!!

Have a great day!!

You Are Simply Wonderful

Today's card is one that I took a picture of a year or so ago at a Stampin' Up! regional.  It uses a retiring word set...Friendly Phrases.  I know I am partial to black and hello...or black and gold but there is something about this color combination that just really strikes me!!

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch, Friendly Phrases
Cardstock:  Basic Black,  Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Black Stazon
Accessories:  Blossom Punch, 1" Circle Punch

Life will be a little crazy at the Wilson household for the next couple of weeks.  Hanna is coming home today, providing she can get the rest of her stuff packed in her car.  If it doesn't fit, I will be making a trip to Pella tonight to help her bring the rest of it home.

Have a great day today!!

You Can Do Anything

This weekend I made several of these cards to send to Hanna and her friends as they are going into finals week at college.  The power of positive thinking can work wonders!!!

Stamps:  Feel Goods
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Black Stazon
Accessories:  Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Oval Collection Framelits,
Big Shot,  7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Flower Trim, Basic Pearl Jewels, Stampin Dimensionals
Stamp class last night was small, but I think all of the ladies there enjoyed themselves.  There is still room at my house on Wednesday if you would like to join us!!

Enjoy the beautiful day today!!

Seis De Mayo

What is Seis De Mayo you might ask?  That is what you get when you have a Cince De Mayo card ready to go and forget to post it.  Hanna and I were so involved in our shopping and where we were going to eat breakfast yesterday morning, that I walked out of the hotel and forgot to hit post!!!

Stamps:  Happy Hour
Cardstock:  Lucky Limeade, Real red, Basic black
Ink:  Lucky Limeade, Real red
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 1" Circle Punch,   1/2" Circle Punch
1 1/4" Square Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch

We had a relaxing day shopping yesterday.  We each managed to find some things we needed and also some things that were nice but that we didn't really need. Her bridesmaid dress fitting went wonderfully...she likes the dress and it will not even need any alterations!!

Now my car is packed and ready for stamp class tonight. I hope you will be joining me.

It looks like this week is going to be lovely.  Enjoy!!

Tulip Time

As soon as I am done posting this I am ready to head out the door to Pella to spend the morning with Hanna at Tulip Time.  This isn't the best picture, but here is what she sent me yesterday morning.

I think this might have been the scene outside one of her classroom windows.

I, on the other hand, would much prefer to see this when I look out the window!!

This is a picture of a card that Hanna and I took at convention last year.  I really like how they took the Petite Pennant Builder Punch to make the curtains on the sides of the window.

Since I am going to be gone all weekend, and I have stamp class on Monday night, I actually have things all ready to go for that.  We are going to be making some awesome cards that you won't want to miss.  See you there!!

Mr. Shutterfly...Part 2

Do you think it will ever be nice enough for enough days in a row that we might be lucky enough to see the butterflies??  Today's card again comes from Luetta and her mom, Lorna.

Stamps:  Swallowtail, Perfect Punches
Cardstock:  Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red
Ink:  Basic Black, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Extra  Large Oval Punch, White Gel Pen, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze Markers

Believe it or not, the cardstock is mostly cut for Monday night and the supplies will be gathered tonight. I have a big weekend planned so have to have it all done by the time I go to bed tonight.  Wish me luck!

Have a great rainy/snowy Friday!!

Mr. Shutterfly...aka Mr. Chatterbug...aka Mr. Swallowtail

Whatever you have named this butterfly stamp, the consensus is that he makes beautiful cards.  Our card today comes from my demonstrator friend, Luetta, and her mom, Lorna.

Stamps:  Swallowtail, Curly Cute
Cardstock:  Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink:  Temptng Turquoise
Accessories:  Versamark, Black Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Tempting Turquoise Marker, Stampin' Sponges

Today is fitness day at Washington Township.  The children will be divided into multi-age groups and  will spend the morning rotating through different activity stations.  I am lucky enough to get to be in charge of the dancing/aerobic station.  My hope is that I don't end this fitness day like I did last year by taking a fall in the hall.  That was not a good end to a day of activity.

Have a great day!!

Serene Silhouettes

Today's card is another one I think we will do next Monday night.  It is a very simple thank you card that uses the retiring set...Curly Cute.

Stamps:  Serene Silhouettes, Curly Cute
Cardstock:  Gumball Green, Whisper White, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink:  Gumball Green, Bashful Blue, Wisteria Wonder, Black Stazon
Accessories:  Bitty Butterfly Punch,  1/8"Mini Silver Brads

The fourth graders had an absolutely awesome field trip yesterday.  A huge thank you to the following Iowa City businesses......they gave us absolutely perfect tours through their business.
1.  Hills Bank on Gilbert Street
2.  First Avenue Hy-Vee
3.  Los Portales
4.  Animal Clinic on Highland Avenue
5.  Sports Museum

Be sure you get out and enjoy this absolutely fabulous day today!!!
