Stepping Stones

I absolutely love when people ask me to make custom cards.  Stampin' Up! usually has a sentiment for everything and this year was no exception.  These cards . . . 200 of them to be exact . . . were made last week and delivered when I visited Hanna, Jake, and the kids last Wednesday.  They (their church) want to write a card to EVERY ADM teacher and give them to them during the "Back to School Breakfast" they hold to form deeper relationships and show support from New Hope Chruch.  This is the fourth year I have made cards for them to give.

I absolutely love this sentiment in the Stepping Stones stamp set and think it is the perfect message to deliver!!  A couple of pearl embellishments and we are good to go!!

Here is the first batch of 200 cards . . . notice I said the first batch!!

Stamps: Stepping Stines
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:
Ink: Perfectly penciled
Accessories:  Fabulous Frames,  Basic Pearl Jewels

Hanna called on Friday night and asked if it would be at all possible to have 150 more cards by next Wednesday.  They have decided that not just the teachers need these cards but every ADM staff member and also school employees that attend New Hope but work in different districts.  Because this is something that is very near and dear to my heart . . . it takes every school employee to make sure children are successful . . . I said no problem.  Actually, I would have said no problem no matter what.  However, there was a small problem . . . I had used up all of my Real Red cardstock on the first batch of cards.  So I put out a plea to my stamping friends to see if anyone had red cardstock I could buy from them and I had many many responses.   It was perfect timing since we were getting together yesterday anyway.  Long story short . . .  well not very short . . . but once I got home yesterday with the red cardstock I have now completed the next batch of 150 cards and will deliver them next Wednesday when I go back to Hanna's.

I had a great day stamping and visiting yesterday with friends.  it had been far too long since we had been together.  I came home with many fun new ideas I will share with you in the coming weeks.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happy Stamping!!

Hippest Hippos

Today I have a card made with several sale-a-Bration items to share with you.  The stamp set, Hippest Hippos, the Hippos Dies, and the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper are all Sale-a-Bration items.  This is the last of the cards everyone made on Monday night and one which I saw on a site I follow, Stampin' Studio.

How can you go wrong with a hippo as cute as this!!!  It doesn't;t show up well in the photo but the white cardstock has been embossed with the Yimeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder just to give it a little bit of texture.  And of course, you need some bling and the Pastel pearls were the perfect color.

Stamps: Hippest Hippos (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Flirty Flamingo, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Wonderful World (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Flirty Flamingo Combo Pack,

Soft Seedlings

Today I have used the Fabulous Frames Dies and the stamp set, Soft Seedlings to make this card to share with you.  The frames dies certainly do live up to their name . . . they are fabulous!!

After die-cutting the frame, I added some color to it using a blending brush.  It was interesting to see how everyone's frames turned out differently at Make-It-Monday. I am thinking that this would make an awesome Christmas card!!

Stamps: Soft Seedlings
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, Copper Foil, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories:  Fabulous Frames, Timber 3D Embossing Folder, Blending Brushes,
Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was not necessarily a day of rest but it was a day of less activity.  I worked on coloring my swaps for this weekend and assembling what I could from my recliner!!  Today, since I have my vehicle back I am planning on running some errands in Iowa City and finishing up my swaps for tomorrow.  I do know that I am not staying up late watching the Cubs again tonight . . . I don't like when they play on the west coast!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Wonderful World

Today I am using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set and coordinating paper, Wonderful World to make this card to share with you.  It uses one of my favorite color combinations . . . purple and green!!

I actually used sponge daubers to color the stamp so that I could get two different colors.  This is also a DistINKtive stamp so the shading is built right into the stamp.

Stamps: Wonderful World (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Old Olive, Basic White, Vellum
Designer Series Paper: Wonderful World (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Orchid Oasis, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Cotton Ribbon,
Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Had a great time in Adel with the kids Tuesday night and yesterday.  New backpacks, lunch boxes, and the first day of school outfits were accomplished with all four kids Tuesday night.  Yesterday Hanna and I and the two youngest started our day off early with a stop at The Learning Post, a teacher supply and toy store.  We then went on a trip down memory lane and I showed them where my grandma used to live in Des Moines and where I lived before we moved to Iowa City.  We made a couple of other stops before lunch at Panera's. I had not been to Panera's since before COVID so it tasted great.  Our next stop was Build-a-Bear where we built a dog and a cat.  I had never seen this process before and found it quite fascinating!!

We ended our day at a park in Waukee that the kids call Spaghetti Park.

A fun day . . . but I was tired!!!  Today I am resting!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Amazing Phrases

Today I have used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Amazing Phrases to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that everyone stamping last night at Make-It-Monday got to make.

Think of the ways you could change this card up by changing the colors of the cardstock you emboss on and changing the black sentiment.  The possibilities are endless!!!

Stamps: Amazing Phrases
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Basic Black, Melon Mambo,
Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  Versamark, Basics Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Classic Matte Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

No stamping today . . . as soon as I am done with a couple of salon appointments this morning, I am headed to Adel to spend the rest of today and tomorrow with the kids.  We are going backpack shopping tonight with all four kiddos and tomorrow Hanna and I will be taking the two youngest kids to do something special while the two older ones are at All Day Bible School Camp.  Love being able to spend time with them!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Hello Harvest

Today I have used a July-December Mini catalog stamp set, Hellos Harvest, as well as the coordinating dies, Rustic Pumpkins, to create this card to share with you.  It is one that everyone stamping tonight at Make-It-Monday will be making.

I must have been on a three-panel kick yesterday because a couple of the cards use that layout.  The Timber 3D Embossing Folder is the perfect complement to the overall look of the images.  A little coloring with some fall-colored Stampin' Blends and my card is complete.

Stamps: Hello Harvest
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Basic Balck, Basic White:
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blend Combo Pack,
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend Combo Pack, So Saffron Stampin' Blend Combo Pack,
Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend Combo Pack
Accessories:  Ristic Pumpkin Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Folder,
Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, Linen Thread,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Yesterday was a very productive day!!  I got everything ready for Make-It-Monday tonight as well as made great headway on my large order of cards.  Today I would like to finish that up before loading up the vehicle and heading over to stamp night.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Stepping Stones

Today I Have a card made with the Stepping Stones stamp set to share with you.  I was designing card options for an order and this was one of the ideas.

This card would have been so much easier to make if we had circle punches, but the Layering Circles Dies work as well, just not as quick.  I laid all of the circles where I wanted them and then went around and snipped off all of the overhanging parts.  I tried using dimensionals on the red frame but decided I did not like that so kept it flat.  A couple of pearl embellishments and I was done.

Stamps: Stepping Stones
Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories:  fabulous Frames, Layering Circles Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels

Another in-person garage sale is done for the year.  Now I need to get pictures taken so that I can list them online and see if I can sell a few more of the stamp sets.  That is going to have to wait until next week, as I have many stamping things to get done in the next few days . . . Monday's Make-It-Monday to get ready for, a big card order, and two swaps I need to get designed and made before next weekend.  Busy, busy, busy!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Fond of Autumn

Today I have another Fond of Autumn card to share with you.  I made this card for a swap I was participating in.

It is very similar to a card that we made at the last Make-It-Monday.  You can see that card here.  There is still a lot of coloring on this card, but I think it is worth it!!!  I debated embossing the sentiment on this card but decided that it too was worth it because it just adds to the depth of the card.  Very similar to the first card, but the added layers give it a whole different look.

Stamps: Fond of Autumn
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Pale Papaya, Very Vanilla
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  So Saffron Combo Pack, Crumb Cake Combo Pack,
Granny Apple Green Combo Pack, Pale Papaya Combo Pack,
Petal PinkCombo Pack,
Accessories:  Autumn Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Dolder, Versamark,
Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . the first day of the garage sale was a success although it was HOT HOT HOT!!!  My sister-in-law's mom, my friend, Jeanie, and another friend, Joan, helped out that first 90 minutes and I don't think I could have done it without them.  A huge thank you to them.  I brought most stuff in last night as there was a threat of rain and it is now set up and ready to go for Day 2.  Stop by if you are in the area!!

Very Best Occasions

Today I have used a July-December Mini Catalog stamp set, Very Best Occasions, to make this card to share with you.  It is a stamp set with no images, only sentiments . . . and let me tell you they are pretty awesome.

To get the two layers for the tag I punched one out of Basic White and one out of Evening Evergreen.  I cut the Evening Evergreen one in half horizontally and layered it behind the white one.  By the time you get the ribbon on there, you can hardly notice that there is a small gap in the green layer.

Stamps: Very Best Occasions
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Evening Evergreen, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:  Rings of Love (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Evening Evergreen
Accessories: handmade Tag Punch, Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon,
2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Well . . . I think the rain is going to stay away and everything is set up and ready to go for the garage sale!!  I have stamps galore and more paper than I know what to do with.  if you are looking for a bargain, then you need to stop by!!!

Very Best Occasions

Today I have used the mini catalog stamp set, Very Best Occasions to make this card to share with you.

This is a super simple layout and you can get nine cards out of one sheet of designer series paper.  Then pick two colors that coordinate with your designer series paper.  It's a  great way to make a lot of cards for any occasion in a short amount of time.

Stamps: Very Best Occasions
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Wonderful World (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Old Olive

Hello Harvest

Today I have used the stamp set, Hello Harvest, and the FREE Sale-a-Bration designer series paper, Rings of Love, to make this card to share with you.  Although with the brightly colored flowers, this card certainly does not remind me of harvest!!

This was a layout that my friend, Susie, had on her site and I just changed up the stamp set and the designer series paper.  The FREE Rings of Love paper has some awesome prints and you will certainly want to get some for yourself.  The Stylish Shapes Die set has four different sizes of banners so you can choose one that fits your sentiment perfectly.  Add some embellishments and you are good to go.

Stamps: Hello Harvest
Cardstock: Basic White Thick, Night of Navy, Orchid Oasis
Designer Series Paper: Rings of Love (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

We are back on the medical-go-round today as John has an eye appointment.  Since it is a late morning appointment I am anticipating that they will be behind and we will be there for a while.  A good book is going along with me to help me spend the time.  I am hoping to stamp some this afternoon whenever we get home.

Lovely & Lasting

Today I have used the stamp set, Lovely & Lasting, and the coordinating punch, Lasting Label Punch, to create this Cards in the Mail card to share with you.

Again, the designer series paper and this time the Stitched With Whimsy Dies have done most of the work for you.   I am thinking that this would make a great Christmas card . . . easy to mass produce, but still an awesome hand-crafted card!!

Stamps: Lovely & Lasting
Cardstock: Pale Papaya, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Lovely in Linen
Ink: Sost Succulent
Accessories: Stitched With Whimsy, Lasting Label Punch,

Mann Camp 2022 . . . this is what kept me busy last week!!  Can't think of a better way to spend a week!!!

Season of Chic

Today I have used The Season Of Chic, as well as Lovely Linen Designer Series Paper and the Gold & Rose Gold Specialty Paper to create this Card in the Mail card to share with you.

It is a tad tricky to keep the insides in the leaves, but if you put dimensionals on them before removing them from the die it works a lot better.  The look of the filled in leaves just looks way better on this card.

Stamps: Season Of Chic
Cardstock: Soft Succulent, Basic White, Gold & Rose Gold Specialty
Designer Series Paper: Lovely in Linen
Ink: Evening Evergreen
Accessories:  Stitched Rectangles Dies, Splendid Stems Dies,
In Color Opal Rounds,
Stampin' Dimensionals

This week is going to be another busy week.  Today I need to get a swap completed and in the mail, for a card swap, I have joined as well as finish my book for Family Book Club tonight.  I am not totally sure that is doable, but we shall see,  Stay tuned tomorrow to see if I accomplished my goal!!

Good Feelings

Today I am using a cool die set called Fabulous Frames to make this card to share with you.  Think of the possibilities for this die . . . .the ideas are endless.

The die does cut the center and I could have die cut both the Calypso Coral and Basic White pieces, but it was much easier to just measure the white and cut multiples with my paper cutter.  Add some designer series paper . . . here I have used an awesome pattern from the Sun Prints pack . . . and you are good to go.

Stamps: Good Feelings
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Sun Prints
Ink: Calypso Coral
Accessories:  Fabulous Frames Dies, Pearl Basic Jewels

Today brings the last day to head out to the campground.  They will be packing up and getting ready to go home tomorrow.  Hopefully, the weather cooperates today for a group picture and their campground decorating contest today.  It has been an awesome ten days.

Splendid Thoughts

Today I am using one of the cards that my friend Susie, posted on her site.  This is one of the cards that everyone made at Make-It-Monday.  Unfortunately, the  Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes, a Sale-a-Bration item, are now sold out.

I love how she took the Very Best Trio Punch and made a tag from the cardstock.  You just need to be sure that you are flipping the cardstock correctly so your tag will not have two different looks on the sides. The Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party layers perfectly complement the Soft Sea Foam card bases.

Stamps:  Splendid Thoughts,
Cardstock: Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam cards & Envelopes (Sale-a-Bration & SOLD OUT),
Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Basic White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam
Accessories:  Very Best Trio Punch, Old Olive & Twill Ribbon Combo Pack,
Pearl Basic Jewels, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Not sure what all is going on at the campground today since it is raining.  I am meeting everyone in Coralville and we shall see where the day goes.  There might be a wee bit of stamping on the agenda when I get home.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Happiest Hippos

Today I have used one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets, Happiest Hippos, to make this card to share with you.  All three of the hippos in this stamp set are so cute!!

This is a layout I have used often, but never with one of the layers being vellum.  I usually use three coordinating pieces of designer series paper.  I kind of like the subtleness of the vellum.

Stamps: Happiest Hippos
Cardstock: Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, Basic White
Designer Series Paper:  Huesof Happiness
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Fresh Freesia Combo Pack, Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Granny Apple Green Combo Pack, Bronze & Ivory Combo Pack
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Layering Circles Dies,
Stripes  & Splatters 3D  Embossing Folders, Pastel Pearls, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Another day . . . hopefully without rain . . . another afternoon at the campground.  It has been a long time since I have spent so much time outside!  Clearly, I need to do this more often!!

Fond of Autumn

Today I have used the stamp set, Fond of Autumn, and the coordinating dies, Autumn Bouquet, to make this card to share with you.  Not only do I love the name of the stamp set, but I also love the images that are in the stamp set.

There is a ton of coloring on the card, but I love the way it turned out. I did get quite a surprise though when I die cut the largest image . . . I thought it would be all one big piece and I would have to cut it apart the way I wanted it  . . . but no . . .the die did it for me!  Way easier than me having to decide.  It was then a matter of adhering the banner on with Stampin' Dimensionals and tucking the flowers, leaves, and pinecones where I wanted them.

Stamps: Fond of Autumn
Cardstock: Very Vanilla Thick, very Vanilla
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  So Saffron Combo Pack, Crumb Cake Combo Pack, Granny Apple Green Combo Pack, Pale Papaya Combo Pack, Petal Pink Combo Pack
Accessories:  Autumn Bouquet Dies, Timber 3D Embossing Folder,
Versamark, Metallics Embossing Powder, Heat Tool,
Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Another beautiful day . . . another day spent outside!!  After a morning salon appointment and some errand running, the rest of the day will be spent out at the campground.  I think this is one of the nicest weather weeks as far as temperature goes that I can remember for Mann Family Summer Camping!!

Full Of Love

Today I have used the stamp set, Full of Love to make this card to share with you.  This is a stamp set that was not even on my radar until I saw so many cute cards made with it.

Who wouldn't love to get this beautiful bouquet of flowers??  There seemed to be a lot of coloring at Make-It-Monday last night but I think everyone survived.  I need to try and do a little better job of not having so much coloring on the same night!!  I tried adding a colored embellishment on this card at first and decided that I like the plain Opal Rounds the best . . .some bling without detracting from the bouquet.

Stamps: Full of Love
Cardstock: Sweet Sorbet, Basic White
Ink: Memento Black, Sweet Sorbet
Stampin' Blends:  Granny Apple Green Combo Pack,
Sweet Sorbet Combo Pack, Highland Heather Combo Pack,
Daffodil Delight Combo Pack
Accessories:  Stylish Shapes Dies, Gingham Embossing Folder,
Opal Rounds, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today looks to be another delightful day . . . not too hot and not too chilly.  No stamping on the agenda today as I will probably be heading out to the campground again after running a few errands in Iowa City.  Great day for being outdoors.

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Wonderful World

Today I am using the FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set . . . Wonderful World.  How can you go wrong with a stamp set with that name?  Reminds me of the song "What a Wonderful World!"

I thought about adding some dimension to this card with Stampin' Dimensionals and then decided that it was fine just being flat.  The Opal Rounds are actually Evening Evergreen in color but they fit in perfectly with the other greens going on in the card.  This is one of the cards everyone is making tonight at Make-It-Monday.  It is a little risky since we have to use two different colors with the same stamp but am hoping everyone remembers to clean the stamp in between colors.

Stamps: Wonderful World, Watercolor Shapes, Nature's Prints
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Basic White
Ink: Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce
Accessories:  2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds

Amazing how when you put your mind to something, it can get done very quickly.  I got almost everything ready for tonight's Make-It-Monday very quickly yesterday morning and still had time to go out to the campground for a while yesterday afternoon.  I spent a few hours out there, came home, fixed supper, and then finished up making my samples and stuffing my envelopes.  This morning I am planning on designing a couple of cards for a special project and then resting until time to leave for Make-It-Monday.  Perfect day!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!

Season of Chic

Today I have used the stamp set, Season of Chic and the coordinating designer series paper, Texture Chic, to make this card to share with you.  It was one of last week's Cards in the Mail.

The gold embossed sentiment was just perfect for coordinating with all of the gold tones in the designer series paper.  I tried other colors and just kept coming back to the embossed one.

Stamps: Season of Chic
Cardstock: Pool Party, Petal Pink, Mango Melody, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Texture Chic
Accessories:  Chic Dies, Versamark, Metallics Embossing Powder,
Heat Tool, Linen Thread Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots,
Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Hopefully, I can get everything cut and ready to go for Make-It-Monday this morning so that I can head back out to the reservoir for the afternoon.  I would surely hate to miss craft time!!  Yesterday all of the kids decorated drawstring bags with fabric markers.  I can't wait to see what they will be making today!!

Soft Seedlings

The second technique we worked with on Thursday, I called Watercolor Pencils With Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for want of a better name.  I found this card on a site I follow, Flowerbug's Ink Spot, and thought it would be great for Technique/Stamp Club.  While many of the things we do at Technique/Stamp aren't actually techniques, they do show how to use the products in new and different ways.

The Soft Seedlings stamp set is one of the DistINKtive stamp sets, which means that the shading is built right into the stamp.  We colored in the open spaces and traced the veins in the leaves with a watercolor pencil and then blended them together with Wink of Stella.  The photos do not do the card justice.  It is way prettier in real life.  I then colored some Basic Rhinestone Jewels with a Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend so that they had a greenish cast to them.  And what better thing to use for a card base than the FREE Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards and Envelopes that is one of the Sale-a-Bration selections.  You get 20 card bases and matching envelopes . . . a great deal.

Stamps: Soft Seedlings
Cardstock: Pool Party & Soft Sea Foam Cards & Envelopes (Sale-a-Bration),
Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Vellum
Ink: Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party
Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Bough Punch, Watercolor Pencils II,
Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Mini Glue Dots,
Stampin' Dimensionals

Today is going to be another on-the-go day.  As soon as I am done posting this I am out the door to meet a friend and wander around the Kalona Farmer's Market this morning.  This afternoon I am headed back out to the campground to spend the afternoon with family.  I ended up staying for supper last night and didn't get home till late, but it was a great time!!  Today I might sit in the shade, however!!

Wonderful World

Last night was the first Thursday night of the month so it was Stamp/Technique Club.  We used the FREE Sale-a-Bration items, Wonderful World . . .stamps and paper, to create this funky fold card.  For want of a better name, I called it the Three Panel Funky Fold Card.

It has been a while since I have done this, but we colored the stamp with Stampin' & Write Markers and then breathed on them before stamping.  I used to use this technique all the time but haven't done it much since we got the Stampin' Blends.  Clearly, I need to use this technique more!!

When this card is closed it looks like an ordinary card but if you pull on the top two panels in opposite directions, you can see it opens up to reveal your space for writing.  This card looks more difficult than it actually is.  And makes a nice change of pace from a regular card.

Stamps: Wonderful World (Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White
Designer Series Paper: Wonderful World
Ink: Starry Sky and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' & Write Markers (not Blends)

If it stops raining at some point today I am planning on visiting my family that is camped at the Coralville Reservoir.  If it rains all day, crafting will be the activity of choice today.  Either way, it is a win-win!!

Every day is a gift . . . make the most of the gift you have been given today!!
