Tasteful Touches

Today's card is the last of the Tasteful Touches class cards.  It is a little different than the others, but certainly showcases the designer series paper!!

I know I found this card somewhere on Pinterest but I do not remember who was the original poster and now can not even find the screenshot I took to see what the watermark says.  So thank you to whoever shared this idea.

Tasteful Touches

Today's card is from the same set of cards as yesterday.  You can see that card, which I saw on Klompen Stampers site, on yesterday's post.  I also changed this card to be a full size card rather than a note card.

This designer series paper, In Good Taste, has so many interesting patterns and designs.  It contains more sheets than our regular designer series paper, but that just means you get more awesome designs.

Tasteful Touches

In my browsing I came across this site . . . Klompen Stampers.  The name intrigued me so I took a look and she had a set of smaller note cards and this was one of them.  

I made it into a full size card, added a layer, and included it in the Tasteful Touches card kit.

I was out early the morning and attacked the few weeds, with my homemade mixture, that grew up in my patio over the last couple of weeks.  Hopefully it will be cool enough in the morning that I can come out and pull up the DEAD weeds.

Today my main agenda item is to get caught up on my card sending.  I know have a bucket load of rose colored glasses to mailed out.  I am hoping to be able to go to the post office by about 3:30 so they get out in today's mail!!

Tasteful Touches

One of my favorite techniques is Emboss Resist so when I saw this card on Pinterest, I knew I had to include it in the Tasteful Touches Compassionate Spacing Class.

John always tells me that I need a touch of another color, but I really do like the monochromatic card!!  And I love that you can get a deeper shade of the same color by sponging over the piece of cardstock.

Tasteful Touches

I have used the sentiments in the Tasteful Touches stamp set suite a but but it wasn't till yesterday that I had stamped with any of the images in the set. They are pretty cool as well!!

This color combination of Basic Gray and Rococo Rose may become a new favorite of mine.  Not that I need another favorite . . . it seem like anything I work with becomes a favorite.  I like the collage look of this layout a lot. Once again Pinterest was my friend.

Yesterday I found a site that live streamed the Cubs baseball game so away to my stamp room I went with my laptop.  It was great to be doing two of my favorite things together again . . . baseball and stamping.  Today will probably bring more of the same until I meet some friends for supper tonight.

And while I did not win any medals I do have proof that I at least participated a little bit.  I did not hit a home run but I did manage to hit 9 out of the 10 balls pitched to me and almost took off my brother's ear!!

Painted Poppies 

I love when I pick up my mail and there is a hand stamped card in it.  And I am sure other people feel the same way.  This card comes from my friend, Mary.

This is a retired designer series paper but I know many of you loved it and I am sure I have some laying around somewhere.

Notice too the unique fold and flip on this card.  I haven't made one like this in years.  I need to do that again!!

The 2020 Camping Olympics are over for the year.  I will leave you with some scenes from the opening ceremonies on Thursday night!!

Many Mates

Today's card comes straight from Flowerbug's Inkspot.  I have made cards similar to this before and when I saw this one knew it was a great way to showcase the designer series paper.

There is also not much room to write a message on this card and sometimes that it perfect!!

You can see here what the cards looks like when it is open.  You can mix and match any designer series paper.  This is a great way to use up the scraps we all seem to accumulate!!

Happiest of Birthdays

Everybody needs birthday cards and this stamp set has some awesome greetings in it . . . even one for late birthday cards.

One of the things I really like about this stamp set is the size of the sentiments.  They are really large, so you don't need much else on your card.

This is a fun fold card and I decided to include a layer of designer series paper on one of the inside parts this time.  Just a little extra touch.

Hello Sunshine

Check out the card I received from Stampin' Up! when I picked up the mail a while back.  The message inside was wishing we were all celebrating in Hawaii together, but since that was not possible they still wanted to convey their congratulations on achieving the trip.

A very simple card but the feelings it left me with were anything but simple. It goes to show that it is the thought and the message inside that is the most important part of any card.

John and I made a trip to the campground yesterday afternoon.  It was so pleasant there yesterday . . . the temperatures were just about perfect for sitting around and visiting.  The craft yesterday was coloring paddle ball paddles . . . bot near as exciting as tie dying t-shirts, but still fun.  I am going out later this afternoon and spending the evening . . . wonder what activities will be on the agenda??

Yesterday was a great day at the campgrounds even though it rained.  I will say I was a drowned rat by the time I got to my car to come home.

My sister-in-law got white t-shirts and tie dying supplies for all of the kids to make a tie dyed t-shirt.  they had a great time and we had 10 tie dyed children as well when they were done.

I may have mentioned a time or two or three or maybe even four, how much I like the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper.  I found this card on a site I look at of a demonstrator in Australia, Vicky Wright.  I loved it!!

Prized Peony

I was rather hesitant to try and put one of these peonies together, but after watching a couple of videos decided it could not be that hard.  And it is not!!

This is the last of the cards that was in the Peony Bundle Product Based Class packet.  I found it somewhere on Pinterest and really liked the combination of the designer series papers.  I again used my Stampin' Blends to color the peonies and the leaves.

Almost everyone I have talked to has commented on just how much they love this stamp set . . . Ridiculously Awesome.  I have probably sold more of these than almost any other set!!

We are certainly going to get a lot of sunshine, so this is a perfect card for today!!  The sentiment goes so well with the sunflowers in the designer series paper.

Yesterday was a great but busy day.  I delivered some stamp orders and visited in a sweltering parking lot for an hour.  Great conversation, although we decided next time we will choose somewhere cooler to visit.  I stopped at the Kalona Creamery for some cheese curds and then delivered them and some special cards to my nephew and brother who are camping with the rest of my family out at the Coralville Reservoir.  It was hot out there but their campsites are right by the water and there was a good breeze so it was quite comfortable.  They have about 8 campsites all right together so it is like their own little village.  I am hoping to spend quite a bit of time there this week myself.

Prized Peony

As most of you know I am always drawn to the sentiments in a stamp set before I even look at the images and Prized Peony is no exception.  The sentiments are awesome.  And this one especially is my favorite . . . there is nothing better than friendship unless it is family!!

This is another one of the cards that is in the Peony Bundle Product Based Class.  I am thinking that when I make another card with this particular stamp I might try embossing the flower and then coloring it in.    I think it would give it a whole other look . . . and maybe using the new Melon Mambo Stampin' Blends to color it in.

There was no sitting on the patio this morning . . . for a couple of reasons . . . the rain and I slept in since I was up late reading last night.  I do love being able to do that and not have to worry about how late I read. Mystery books sometimes just beg to be finished!!

Prized Peony

I had so much fun creating with this Prized Peony set.  There was a lot of coloring involved, but since I love to color that was not problem at all.

Even though there was a lot of coloring and die cutting on this card, it was oh so worth it.  It is much prettier in person, the photo does not do it justice. The sparkle on the peonies from the Wink of Stella adds the finishing touch. This is one of the cards you will receive if you participate in the Prized Peony Product Based Class.
