Quiet Meadow

Let me introduce you to the five new In-Colors for 2021-2023 . . . Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen, and Soft Succulent!!  I love them and they all play well together and with our other five color families.

I don't usually make these smaller size notecards but found some in my stash when I was rearranging and decided I should put them to use.  They were perfect for this design and very easy to make multiples of in a quick fashion!!

Yesterday was a fun day of errand running, visiting with friends, and eating.  I actually set foot in Target for the first time since December of 2019 . . . didn't see anything I had missed but it was nice to wander around a little bit.  Culver's has my all time favorite salad back . . . Strawberry Fields so lunch was wonderful.  While I was there I saw the couple that we lived next door to when I was a child.  It was great to visit and catch up with them and hear about all of their kids.  The day ended by having supper with friends, a little stamping, and then watching the Cubs finally win a baseball game!!  Perfect day!!

Winter Woods

I am very sorry to see the Winter Woods stamp set retire next week.  It has been one of my go-to sets for sympathy cards!!  This one, which I made at Susie's on Saturday, uses a lot of retiring product

The Classic Label Punch is another product I am sorry to see go!!  It is perfect for those little sentiments, and like on this card, looks much better than a bigger punched piece would look.

Butterfly Gala

This butterfly punch on this designer series paper is absolutely perfect!!  Again, this card comes from one I made with Susie on Saturday.  I knew right away when I saw it that it was one I wanted to make at a stamp night.

The Playing With Patterns Resin Dots are actually Purple Posy, but they are also pretty close to the new In-Color, Fresh Freesia.  I am going to try and do a much better job of using them during this next catalog year!!

Art Gallery

The Forever Greenery Designer series paper has always been one of my favorites.  There are such rich green designs in almost every piece.  This card, which everyone made last night, is another one I made at Susie's stamp day on Saturday.

Friends Are Like Seashells

I love collecting things . . . .especially friends!!  If you are lucky you collect the very best and I am privileged to say I have been very lucky in the friend collecting!!!

This is one of the cards that I made on Saturday when I attended my friend, Susie's all-day stamping class.  We made 40 cards, 2 of each of 20 designs.  Let's just say that she made planning for tonight's Make-It-Monday VERY easy!!!

We used a blending brush and some Frost White Shimmer Paint to give the seashells a little bit of luster!!  I must say after all of the die-cutting and embossing I did for the number of people I have coming tonight, I am not sure how she got it all done for all of the people that were there on Saturday and for all of the people that will be coming to her next class featuring this card.  But I hope you agree that it is oh so worth it!!

Pretty Perennials

How about another Pretty Perennials card made with our One Sheet Wonder stamped sheet of cardstock?  I love this technique and so enjoyed my weekend at the Stampin' Sisters retreat where we made it.

Even though this die set has a lot of dies in it and some of them are pretty small it is really easy to work with.  Some of the cards I have made with it are pretty labor-intensive, but this does not happen to be one of them.   It went together very easily!!

Itty Bitty Birthdays

Itty Bitty Birthdays is one of those stamps sets that everybody needs because it has sentiments that are as the title says . . . itty bitty.  That way they will fit on cards quite easily and still say what you want to say!!

Paired here with one of my favorite retiring Designer Series Papers . . . Peony Garden . . . it makes the perfect birthday card.  I have decided that I really like pattern mixing in my cards . . . I am not so great with it in clothes or anything else.

How about a daisy garden today??  And in my favorite colors . . . black and yellow or gold!!  It won't be too long before we are seeing flowers springing up everywhere!!

If I were to make this card again I think I would opt for the smaller daisy punch or fewer daisies on this card.  But I do like the layout and the way it turned out.

Even though I have used mostly the exact same products and layouts these One Sheet Wonder cards certainly do turn out differently.  It is a great way to make a lot of cards in a short amount of time!!

Boho Indigo Product Medley Kit

Why oh why didn't I open this kit before last week??  The stamp set is super cute and the designer series paper is pretty awesome as well.  Let this be a lesson to me to open kits that I buy first thing when they arrive!!

This layout is actually a pretty cool layout that would work for just about any designer series paper that you might have laying around your stamping area.  It is a great way to use up some of those strips that are left over after you cut a larger layering piece.

Simply Succulents

Cacti are not really my thing in person or on cards but the designer series paper in the Flowering Cactus Product Medley Kit is once again fantastic!!  And of course, I love the sentiment that is included in the Simply Succulents stamp set!!

If you don't have your triple Banner Punch you are going to want to get it soon.  It will be leaving at the end of the month.  And it is an even better deal because it is on sale right now.  I know I am going to be lost without it because I love the look of a flagged end to the sentiment strip on a card.

Happy Thoughts

Everybody needs thinking of you cards . . . because everybody likes to be thought of.  I know I have sent way more cards this last year than I have in a long long time!!  This would be the perfect card for sympathy, get well, or just to let someone know you were thinking of them.

Pretty Perennials

Back again with another card made with the Pretty Perennials stamp set and another cut piece from the background DSP that we made with that stamp set.  When I first started stamping there was no designer series paper and we always had to make our own background paper.  It is kind of fun to revisit some of the techniques that were popular several years ago.

This layout is a tad different.  The only tricky part is getting your sentiment stamped up high enough that it doesn't get covered up by your layers.

There was no stamping yesterday whatsoever.  I was planning on stamping while listening to the Cubs game, but then lo and behold I found it on TV.  It wasn't a game worth watching but I did anyway.

Today I think that my friend, Luetta, and I are going to make a run to Iowa City for lunch and whatever else we can think of to do.  Thinking back to a year ago where that was not even possible seems kind of weird now.  Every day truly is a gift!!

Pretty Perennials

Last March when I attended the Stampin' Sisters virtual weekend, this is one of the cards we made.  I love how bright and springy it is!!  The bright colors just say happy happy happy to me!!

Circle Celebration

Today's card is another triple time card . . . this time stamping and one I saw on a site I follow, Flowerbug's Inkspot.  I loved her color combination as well.

This is another one of the cards everyone stamping with me this week is making.  The only hard part of this card is making sure that you put the stamp into the right color of ink.  I was very guilty of mixing it up when I was making my sample . . . the people on Monday night did a wonderful job of keeping things straight!!

Happy Thoughts

A couple of weeks ago my friend, Susie, posted a card like this using the blue background sunflowers.  I loved the idea of triple-time die-cutting so wanted to do one as well for Make-It-Monday.  I chose the pattern that I had the most of and it happened to be the Just Jade background sunflowers.

I think everyone really liked this technique on Monday night because I heard several people comment that they were going to try it with other DSP and those that did not have the Stitched Rectangle Dies will have them soon.  Such an easy way to make a card with a big WOW factor!!

Art Gallery

This card, which I saw on a site I follow, CreativeLee Yours, was one of the cards everyone made last night at Make-It-Monday.  I love the way she used the embossing folder on the inside layer of the card, something I had never done before.

When you open the card there is a small white scalloped rectangle with another flower image and a place to write your message.  Not a lot of space for a lot of writing, but enough to convey your message.  I had several other sentiments on hand in case anyone wanted to make it into a different kind of card.

Flowering Blooms

Have you ever had a stamp set sit on your shelf unused and then when you finally use it you think . . . "Why haven't I been using you all along?"

Such is the case with me and the Flowering Blooms stamp set.  And then when you pair it with my favorite color combination, purple and green, it gets even better.  I did stamp the same stamp twice, once in green and once in purple, and then just fussy cut the purple flowers and popped them on the card with a dimensional.

Under My Umbrella

With as much rain as we have been having lately, I thought this was the perfect card!!  I love the umbrellas but could certainly do without the rain!!! 

How did I get the beautiful designs on the umbrellas, you might ask.  Well . . . it was simple . . . I just stamped directly onto the designer series paper and then punched them out.  It is a very quick and easy way to add some variety to the umbrellas.  And . . . it uses up some of those tiny scraps of designer series paper you might have laying around!!

Itty Bitty Birthdays

Another great stamp set that you might want to consider adding to your stash is Itty Bitty Birthdays.  It has some great sentiments and they are, as the title indicates, rather small and will fit on cards perfectly.

This card uses a lot of retiring products, some of them sold out already!!  The Terracotta Tile Cardstock, ink, and ribbon as well as the Star Designer elements will all be disappearing at the end of the month.  You might be thinking . . . ."I didn't know that ribbon was that wide."  Well, it isn't.  I  cut it in half lengthwise and just adhered it to the sentiment strip on the top and the bottom.

Ridiculously Awesome

I have always loved the song, "You Are My Sunshine", so it would stand to reason that I would like this stamp set as well, and particularly this sentiment!!  When I saw this card on Pinterest I knew it would be perfect for a Cards in the Mail card.

There is just something so bright and cheery about this card . . . and we all need a little sunshine in our lives!!  One thing I am not bright and cheery about is the fact that the Layering Ovals Dies are retiring at the end of the month.  I use them a lot and will be sad to see them go!!  You will want to be sure you have gotten yours!!

Butterfly Gala

Don't you just love this Peony Garden Designer Series Paper?  If so, then you better run and get some because it will only be around for another couple of weeks and it is on SALE!!!

The soft pinks and grays in this paper complement each other so well.  And I will be oh so sorry to see this butterfly punch leave at the end of the month.  I know we have the beautiful new Butterfly Wings Dies, but this punch is so handy to just grab and punch.

As soon as I am done posting this John and I are out the door for an early morning eye appointment for him.  I am hoping it will be quick, but if our past experience is worth anything, we probably won't be home till mid-afternoon!!

I did finish up the big project I was making for Hanna last night so it's okay if we are gone all day . . . my fingers and wrists need a bit of a rest!!

Happiest of Birthdays

How about another beautiful flower garden??  You cannot go wrong with this beautiful Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper package!!  I have said before . . . .the paper does all of the work for you!!

I have had the Stitched Triangle Dies for almost a year now and had not found a use for them until now!!  I love this split card layout and the dies make it so easy . . . no cutting or measuring . . . just die cutting!!  Easy Peasy!!

Happy Thoughts

When planning for this week's Cards in the Mail I knew I wanted to use some of the retiring designer series paper that I seem to have a LOT of . . . and Flowers For Every Season was the winner.  I have a ton of it!!  It wasn't till I sat down last night to write up the supply sheet and directions that I realized it was discounted . . . by a lot!!

I have made many of these offset three-layered cards before, but I have always used different designer series paper for each layer.  I decided to try one with the paper being the same and the verdict is I like it just as well if not better.

As soon as I am done posting this I am off to Iowa City for an early morning appointment.  I am hoping to run a few errands while I am up there and still be home by mid-morning so I can spend most of the rest of the day in my craft room.  I do have a physical therapy appointment in the middle of the afternoon, but that is only three blocks away so will not take much time.
