Little Treats

Do you need some little favors or a thank you to hand out to people.  These little tins are the perfect choice.

I purchased several 4 pack packages of these tins from Dollar Tree.  They are the perfect size to fit the dies that coordinate with this stamp set . . . Little Treats.  And they are also the perfect size to hold a couple of these Dove Chocolates. I love that they are wrapped as if they are a present.

 

I had made quite a few of these for the craft show that wasn't so decided that they would be perfect to put in the bag that is being delivered to the hospital today.  You can see I made several . . . these are just the ones I had left . . . but they go so fast . . . I think I probably made thirty of them in less than 1/2 an hour . . . great treat that goes fast!!

Today looks to be a beautiful day, although a little cold.  I am meeting my friend, Luetta, and her mom and we are going to check out a couple of stores and have lunch before the Christmas rush gets started. I think the places that we are going should be exceptionally easy to social distance, but yet be out and about!!  My hustle and bustle of Christmas may be different this year . . . but it will still be there!!

Coming Home

Yesterday I worked on a very special to me project.  Every year since John had his accident I have taken something to the SICU staff on the Monday after Thanksgiving as a thank you because that is when they worked especially hard and resuscitated him a couple of times.  Without them, we would not have what we have now and I like to thank them for their part in that.  I know the staff is not all the same, but they are working just as hard helping other families like they helped us.

I did not think I was going to be able to do anything this year because of the visitor restrictions at the hospital, but thanks to a friend of mine that works there, it is still going to happen.  I usually take a fruit basket and some cookies, but this year I knew it had to be different because of COVID.  So I turned to my crafting and decided to make many little individually wrapped decorated treats.  I started with wrapped Hershey candy bars.  I saw this idea on a site I follow...Creative Corner.

A 6" X 6" piece of designer series paper perfectly wraps the Hershey bar.  I made all twenty of these yesterday, including the die cutting and the coloring in one half of a football game, so you can see they come together pretty easily.

Tag Buffet

Today's card is a super super simple card that we made at a stampin' get together back in September.  It is made even simpler ehen you use one of the Christmas trees that is in the Tag Buffet Project Kit!!

This is also one of the cards that we made at the Peek Into Santa's Workshop Christmas card class.  I love the way it turned out!!!

Yesterday was a pretty productive day as I got my Christmas trees up and most of the rest of my Christmas decorations out.  I have a little to finish up but I will do that in bits and pieces.  

It was a great day to be a Hawkeye, as I spent the afternoon watching Hawkeye football and basketball victories!!!   

The day ended up with our virtual Black Friday shopping trip.  Julie, Hanna and I spent a couple of hours zooming and shopping and visiting in our matching pajamas!!  Not quite the same,  but still a great time!!

Jolly Holly

On to Christmas cards . . . do you have yours started yet??  This is one of the cards that was made at my Peek Into Santa's Workshop back in October.   It is a super simple card to make if you are wanting to make many cards.  And with all of the gold embossing, it is very elegant.

Think about the possibilities for this card with just a change out of the base color of cardstock . . . Shaded Spruce or Garden Green would be gorgeous, or Night of Navy or Misty Moonlight would be equally as stunning!!!

Gather Together

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!!  Although this year looks a little different, it is still a season of thanks and we still have many things to be thankful for.

Cajun Craze and Pretty Peacock is not a color combination I would normally use, but it sure seems to work!  I may have to try it more often.

We certainly had a big surprise last night!  Hanna texted about 7:00 last night and wondered if we were home and if we could FaceTime in about fifteen minutes.  Not sure where she thought we would be, but I said sure we could.  It was about fifteen minutes later and an unfamiliar car pulled into the driveway.  When I went to see who it was, to my surprise it was Hanna and Jake.  They had driven over to deliver a Black Friday Shopping kit to both Julie and I!  Needless to say it was great to see them and sure made the day!!

Tasteful Touches

Taking a break from holiday cards, today's card is one I think is very appropriate for the times right now.  Even though we might be having a compassionately spaced Thanksgiving this year, you still want people to know you are thinking about them . . . all the time!!

Can you believe this card has no embellishments and no dimensionals . . . I know, unusual for me, but for this card it just seems to work.  I love the Tasteful Labels stamp set for the sentiments, but it has some awesome images as well.

Today looks to be another gloomy rainy day . . . it reminds me of my first year of teaching some 43 years ago.  I was in Elkader and it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and northeast Iowa had a massive snowstorm so we had a snow day.  I was bound and determined I was getting home for Thanksgiving so off I went even with all of the snow.  Being a city girl I had no experience with snow drifts bigger than my car until that day. Needless to say I had many detours that day, but I did make it home.  Today I am grateful, that even though I have nowhere to go that this is just rain and not snow!!

Warm Hugs

One of the items that I made for the craft show that didn't really happen was these hot chocolate Secret Santa gifts.  I had so much fun making them, and they were pretty simple to do!!

I am not the best photographer, so all of these photos have a yellowish cast to them . . . not sure why but it didn't matter where I put the carrier, it was there.  It really isn't yellow at all . . . just a bright cheery red and green for Christmas.

Each cup is decorated with a coordinating pattern of designer series paper. One cup contains a package of hot chocolate, the other a bag of marshmallows, and then topped off with a peppermint spoon.  I thought they turned out super cute!!

Celebrate Sunflowers

I will be so so sorry to see this Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper retire in January.  I really really really like it.  It makes cards look so elegant with little or no trouble.

This is yet another one of the Cards in the Mail this week.  Super simple and could work for any occasion!!  And with the Mint Macaron is doesn't really even have to be a fall card . . . actually looks more like a spring one!!
