Happy Birthday

Check out this cool Happy Birthday card that my friend Luetta made as a swap for our get together on Saturday.

I believe she made a template and sponged first white craft ink and then colored ink when the craft ink was dry.  I love the way it turned out!!

Today has been another busy day finishing up all of my garage sale details.  I think I have everything laid out and ready to go.  Depending on my energy level tonight,  go I may through my ribbon collection and dig some of that out as well.

Daisy Delight

I have been so busy getting things ready for my stamping garage sale this weekend that I completely forgot about posting a card today.  Not only did I forget to post, but I haven't even had time to stamp!!  This is one of the swap cards that we made last Saturday when I got together with stamping friends.

I usually take some post-it notes along so I can remember who brought what swap, but I forgot that Saturday so I have no idea who brought this swap!!  I love it though!!

Coffee Cafe

For an avid coffee drinker like me, this set was a must have!!!  All of the accessories that go along with this suite are perfect!! I will admit that I thought I ordered the Designer Series Paper that went with this set, but I did not, so I had to make my own background paper.  I used one of the stamps from Timeless Textures.  

This is the card that I took on Saturday for my pre-made swap.

It is actually a gift card holder, which I think is perfect as many coffee shops as there are around these days that have gift cards!!

I said in my email to the kids after John's doctor appointment yesterday . . . all the old people in our house are on the mend.  It was amazing how much better he felt immediately after getting the stent removed.  

Today I am starting to layout all of my garage sale stuff.  My kitchen will be a mess for a while but I need to get it out of my stamping room so I can see what else I might have in there to get rid of!!!

Tranquil Tulips

I am not sure when there has been a hostess set that I like as much as I do this one . . . Tranquil Tulips.  It is SO EASY to use because the stamps are designed to give the dimension to the flowers with out having to do anything but stamp.  

This was my shoebox swap that I took with me on Saturday when I stamped with friends.

Ribbon Of Courage

This stamp set stood out to me the first time I saw it back in April.  Probably because of where I am in life, but more  so because of what it stands for.  The ribbons can be used for supporting our troops as well as cancer survivors and patients.  I have included a picture of the stamp set bundle at the bottom of this post.

This particular sentiment is sort of our motto of life and has been for quite some time.  This is also one of the cards that everyone stamping on Monday night got to make.

Yesterday was a great day!!!  I never really thought I took good health for granted, and I certainly don't now. I am happy to say I had another check-up with scans and labs and received a clean bill of health!!!  My doctor said he wished all of his patients could be doing as well as I am.  We talked about positive attitudes, tolerance to pain, and support systems.  My doctor, his nurse, and I all agreed that I had one of the best support systems they have seen, which includes my family and my friends!!!  I could not be where I am today with out the support of everyone . . . so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This set is one that I received as a prize when we went to OnStage in Minneapolis.  I probably would not have bought it for myself, but man . . . am I glad I won it because it LOVE it now.

We rolled into Mount Pleasant last night about 75 minutes late, which if you travel by train much, is pretty much on time for a train.  We were home by 8:30 and all I did was water my plants and go to bed.  I had to be up bright and early this morning because I had a 7:00 appointment at the University for labs and a 6 month CT scan.  Although I don't see my doctor until Tuesday, the results of the CT scan are posted and they show no recurrence of the lymphoma!!!  YEAH!!!!  I actually think even though we were pretty laid back on vacation, today is going to be a day of rest . . . because I am tired!!

When I first saw this sheet of Designer Series Paper in the pack I want quite sure how I would  ever use it, but it really does add interest to some cards!!

Yesterday was definitely one of rest.  About the only thing I did was run to Iowa City and pickup John's new prescription.  Boy has it helped . . . a LOT!!! Which is good since we are to leave this morning for our train trip with the kids.  I did manage to get our bags packed last night, but other than that I was in my recliner a good portion of the day.  No napping, but at least resting. 

I think our hotel has Internet access and if so I plan on blogging while I am there.  If not, there will be no posts till Friday.

Yesterday was a LONG day.  I started the day bright and early!!  The weather was beautiful and I had a great time at The Barn Flea and Fair.  The crowds were down but my sales were totally consistent with every other time I had been there.  It did get pretty hot about the time I was packing up, so by the time I got home I was a soggy mess.   BUT . . . John was having problems again with the stent put in place because of the kidney stone.  So I unloaded the car enough so he would have a place to sit and off we went to the ER.  We got home around midnight, but at least this they gave him something for the pain the stent is causing.  We are supposed to leave for vacation tomorrow . . . But I don't know if that is going to happen!!  After a night's sleep, I am once again semi-rested and ready to take on the day!!

Yesterday was a long but good day at The Barn.  Even though the temperatures were warm, there was a good breeze blowing and it was quite pleasant.  I was beat by the time I got home though, and went straight to bed and slept for 11 hours.  Let's hope the breeze continues to blow today as it is supposed to be even warmer.

This Little Piggy

This Little Piggy is one of the stamp sets we received at On Stage in Minneapolis.  I loaned it to my friend, Luetta, and her mom yesterday so they could stamp some cards with it last night.  Her mom dropped it off this morning with this cute cute thank you note.
