Peaceful Moments

I am so glad that the Peaceful Moments stamp set is going to carry over to the new Idea Book and Catalog!!  It has quickly come to be one of my go to stamp sets for sentiments.

This card, whose layout I saw on a blog called Flowerbug's Inkspot is another one of the cards everyone will be making that wanted a set of Compassionate Spacing Cards in the Mail this week.

Beautifully Braided

Ornate Thanks

At first I wasn't too sure about the small words in the Ornate Thanks stamp set, but the more I use it the better I like them . . . they can personalize your thank you in so many ways!!!

What a beautiful day yesterday was!!!  We took about a two hour ride and went over to a marsh that John used to duck and goose hunt over and then stopped to pick up a bucket of KFC chicken for supper.  It was great to get out and about and to not have to cook supper last night!!!

Flourishing Phrases is one of my go to stamp sets for sentiments!!  The sentiment choice and the fonts are awesome.  And . . . it is retiring on June 3rd . . . so get it now while you can!!!

Clubhouse

Do you have a golfer in your life??  If you do then you are for sure going to want to get this stamp set before it retires June 3rd!!!  I made this birthday card for a guy who I know is very anxious to get back on the golf course this spring!!!  Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later!!

I love the plaids of the Country Club Designer Series Paper.  I haven't used much of the golf themed side of the paper, but I sure have the other!!

Beautiful Promenade

When I first saw this stamp set in the catalog, I knew I would love it!!  Have I used it much . . .  no!!  And now it is on the retired list . . . so I thought it was time for it to see some ink!!  I am going to try in the coming days to feature some those stamp sets that are my favorites and are retiring.

This card would really be quite appropriate to send to abut anyone right now, because regardless of your job or situation, we all will need strength to get through the coming days of the pandemic.

Ornate Thanks

A couple of weeks or so ago I happened to see a Facebook Live from my friend, Rory, that lives in New York.  She had jumped on quickly to show one of her customers how to make this card.  Hers was done in reds or pinks . . . I can't exactly remember.  Fast forward to this last weekend when I got a request for some thank you cards for an 11 year old to send out for bithday gifts she had received.

 

Her favorite color is teal and she likes ice skating, animals, and flowers. Immediately Rory's card design came to mind so I changed the color scheme and added some bling. . . . because all young girls like bling!!

Rooted In Nature

I had a request over the weekend to make some cards with a school theme that would let high school youth know that this person is thinking of them during this difficult time.  I had several options and this is the one we decided on.

This is sort of my go-to layout when it comes to school related cards.  We stamped the verse you see down below on the inside of these cards.

Some of the other options included the using this verse from the Holding Onto Hope stamp set. 

My downline, Joan, shared some of the cards she had been making with this set that I used for a layout.

I love the idea of sending something to high schoolers just to let them know we are thinking of them during this time , . . they are missing so much . . . friends, activities, competitions, and so much more.

Lilypad Lake


Today's card comes from one I made quite some time ago . . . I  think perhaps at one of Susie's events.  I do know that even though I have this stamp set . . . Lilypad Lake . . . it is not one I have use very often . . . if at all.

It does make the perfect sympathy card . . . but would also work for may other occasions.

Seriously The Best

I know many teachers have been sending cards to their students . . . Hanna is one of those. I have several cards that I am sending to her tomorrow that she can use, but was a little low on cards that would work for the guys.

Again . . . my favorite mini catalog stamp set and some awesome designer series paper . . . and I had several cards that I can add to the stash I am sending her!!

I think it took me maybe an hour to make all 18 of these cards . . . I was pretty pleased with the way they turned out!!

Ornate Thanks

Back again with another Ornate Garden Suite card.  There is a reason I have been using it so much . . . it is just that cool!!!  This is a card that I saw on a Pinterest.

This one does not use much of the designer series paper, but there was a trick to cutting it so you could see some whole daisies . . . I cut the one inch strip on the diagonal.  I was much happier when a could see a couple of whole daisies . . . not just parts of them along the sides.

Country Club Designer Series Paper

Today I am featuring one of the cards that I made at a retreat at the beginning of February.  Peggy from Stamp With Peggy had a group of masculine cards that used this paper.

These particular cards used a Sale-a-Bration stamp set, but you culd easily change out the greeting with a set you have at home.

As you can see this is a fun fold card that opens both ways.

Honey Bee

I have been trying to find cards that use the wealth of designer series paper I seem to find myself with these days.  This is paper is from the Ornate Garden Specialty pack but you could really use any designer series paper that you might have laying around!!

I don't know about you, but I am finding myself sending out a lot of cards lately that just say thinking of you . . . as I am missing the social interaction of face to face meetings!!

Snow . . . who would've thought on April 15th . . . but at least it is not ruining any travel plans today . . . my plans are to travel to my stamp room and work on cutting cardstock for the Guys Card Class that I am mailing out!!

I really do need to put the Ornate Garden Suite away for a while and concentrate on using some other sets . . . but it is just so cool that I am having a hard time doing that!!

Same song, second verse, a little bit louder and a little bit worse . . . these were the words to a song that was popular when I was in grade school.  My family added the little bit louder and a little but worse . . . but it seems appropriate right about now.   I wonder how many verses there will be to this song we are living right now??

Hanna texted last night and decided that we needed to set up a three way FaceTime call with Julie and Jason, her and Jake, and John and I.  I told her that I was so busy I had to check my social calendar.  We were in luck . . . I had no plans for tonight, so tonight it is. Technology is wonderful, especially at times like these.

Seriously The Best

How many of you like daisies?  I can honestly say they have never been my favorite flower, but I sure do love this pattern in the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Easter Promise

When I was on my walk yesterday I stopped to take pictures of the many bunches of daffodils I saw along the way.  Daffodils have become one of my favorite flowers.

They were my inspiration for today's Easter card.  I decided I should use the Word Wishes dies since I have had them for quite some time and had never even taken them out of the package!!  They will for sure be seeing more use in the future.  The green rectangles behind the words are Vellum Cardstock that I die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and then colored with an Old Olive Dark Stampin' blend.  I thought it needed something behind the words to make them stand out a little it better.

Ornate Style

I took my coloring to another level yesterday when I decided to try my hand at coloring some of the beautifully gold embossed paper in the Ornate Garden Specialty Paper Pack.

My friend, Susie, suggested we stamp together via Facebook and use these three colors . . . Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, and Night of Navy.  This is not a color combination I would probably ever use, but now that I have I really kind of like it.

Yesterday I was struggling to decide what to make using this color combination.  It is amazing what a little fresh air and exercise will do for you. Mid-afternoon, I was not feeling very motivated to do anything at all so I decided I needed some fresh air and instead of just sitting outside I went for a walk. Not that I saw any flowers or anything along the way but this idea just popped into my head so of course I had to make it up right away when I got home.  I am hoping to be able to continue to take a daily walk . . . it is good for me!!
