Taco Fiesta

Today I am sharing one of the cards I got in the card swap at Suite Demo Days a couple of weeks ago.  It was made by a demo in the Quad Cities area.

I love the way she has used the die from the Stylish Shapes Dies and cut them apart to make banners on the top and bottom of the car.  I can tell you this card would be a lot of work . . . but worth it.  I can't imagine making it for a swap . . . good thing there were;t that many of us swapping!!

Darling Details

I'm excited to share a card I made using the Darling Details stamp set and Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper. I created this card at a Stampin' Sisters' Demo Day and it was also featured in this week's Make-It-Monday card options.

I used Lost Lagoon Ink to stamp the flower outline at full strength and then again used Lost Lagoon on the inside, but this time I stamped off first. To add some sparkle, I used Lost Lagoon Gems from the Tinsel Gems Three Pack.

I have a lot of errands to run today, including grocery shopping. This weekend, we're celebrating winter birthdays as well as Mother's and Father's Day by renting an Airbnb and gathering all the kids. It's been challenging to plan a time when we can all be together, so we're excited to try this out. I have a lengthy grocery list, but I'm hoping to find some time for stamping once I'm back home.

Beautiful Balloons

I'm excited to share a card I made using the Beautiful Balloons stamp set and dies, as well as the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. This card was created during Suite Demo Days and was a popular choice for Make-It-Monday attendees this week.

There is not really much stamping on this card, but it is so cool!!  The paper and the vibrant colors make a card anyone would love to receive!!

This is an Accordion Z Fun Fold card.  It does take a whole sheet of paper, but I think it is totally worth it!!

It seems like another day with beautiful weather, but unfortunately, the air is quite smoky due to the Canadian Wild Fires. I was skeptical about the reports of haze and smoke, but when I went outside last night, the smell and sight of it were undeniable. As a result, I plan to stay indoors today and be productive. I plan to get caught up on my bookworm and then I think it's a good opportunity to indulge in my love for reading - it's time for bookworm mode!

Zany Zoo

I wanted to share a card I made using the Zany Zoo stamp set. This design was created during Suite Demo Days. Initially, I wasn't planning on buying the set, but my friend Luetta convinced me that it could be a great addition to my collection.

I added a couple of extra strips of designer series paper to the top and bottom of my card. This was because I accidentally smudged ink on those areas while putting it away. However, as many of you know, mistakes in stamping can always be turned into chances for embellishment!

Circle Sayings

Today I am using the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper, along with the coordinating Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder and the Countryside Corners Dies to make this card to share with you.  This is a card I received in a swap and also one that everyone is making tonight at Make-It-Monday.

It is hard to see in the photo but the smaller leaves in the arch of flowers have been colored in with a Boho Blue Stampin' Blend.  I then used Wink of Stella over the flowers to give them a little sparkle.

Yesterday was quite eventful as we experienced a power outage in our house for most of the day. Despite multiple attempts to report the outage using the automated system, I had to find a way to bypass it and speak to an actual person. Thankfully, the representative I spoke to was very helpful and assumed that the problem had been resolved since the repairman had been there earlier. However, that was not the case. The repairman had already been in the area working on an electric pole about half a block away to resolve the issue. He thought the problem was fixed, but it turned out that half of our wires had become unhooked due to a gust of wind, which is why only parts of the house had power. The repairman was quick to resolve the issue, and we had power restored in no time. It was not as exciting as the repairman's first trip to our neighborhood on Saturday night when another electric pole's wires came loose, sparking and prompting a call to the fire department and the electric company. Fortunately, I slept through that one!

Taco Fiesta

The designer series paper I have used in this card is now retired, but any black and white designer paper will work!!

The first flap opens towards the top revealing another stamped image.

I had a wonderful day yesterday. I spent time with Luetta stamping and attended a virtual stamping event. We worked on creating three beautiful cards using a new stamp set that will be featured in the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog. The event also showcased other sets that will be available in the catalog with some impressive demonstrations. In the evening, I had the pleasure of watching a musical called Frozen Jr., which was a great day all around.

Today brings baseball and cutting cardstock for tomorrow night's Make-It-Monday.

Beautiful Balloons

I recently created a card using the Beautiful Balloons stamp set and coordinating dies. I was happy with the result and decided to use it as my swap card at the Suite Demp Days event in Wisconsin last weekend.

A few weeks ago, I utilized this layout to create some graduation cards, which you can view here. Considering that many people I know have birthdays on or near the 4th of July, I thought this color combination would be ideal for them. The Blueberry Bushel and Real Red strips are sized at .5", while the white strips measure .25". This is an effective method to make use of the small paper strips in my scrap collection. I always seem to accumulate quite a lot of them!

Circle Sayings

I wanted to share a card that I created during Suite Demo Days, which is also included in this week's Cards in the Mail. It features the Circle Sayings stamp set and the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper. The paper is currently on sale until the end of the month.

Getting the Baker's Twine onto the two punched-out shapes can be a bit challenging. However, I found that adhering my greeting to the shapes beforehand (a helpful tip from a friend) made it easier to position the twine.

I have created a bookbinding fun fold card that features an inch on the left-hand side that is securely adhered shut, allowing it to open just like a book.

Inked & Tiled

I've used this uncomplicated layout frequently, but by swapping out colors and designer series papers, it becomes unrecognizable. Once you include an embellishment, your card is complete.

Gone Fishing

Today I wanted to share a masculine card I made using the Gone Fishing stamp set and matching designer series paper, Let's Go Fishing. I created this particular card during Suite Demp days, and it is also featured in this week's Cards in the Mail.

The Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder complements the fishing set perfectly, as if they were made for each other. I have stamped a fish from the stamp set, but for the Cards in the Mail card, a fish from the designer series paper will be included for people to cut out and attach to their card.

Cheerful Daisies

Hey there! I wanted to share a card I made using the Cheerful Daisies Stamp set and coordinating Dies. I created it over the weekend during Suite Demo Days and it's also included in this week's Cards in the Mail packet. Hope you like it!

I started with a Moody Mauve base and added a layer of the designer series paper and a small strip of Bubble Bath cardstock.  The daisies were die-cut out of Basic White and Bubble Bath.  The Copper Clay ink on the Bubble Bath cardstock for the sentiment worked perfectly.  Add some Adhesive Backed Gems and you are finished.

Beautiful Balloons

I wanted to share one of the cards I created over the weekend at the Suite Demo Day in Wisconsin. I used the Beautiful Balloons stamp set along with its coordinating dies. This card is also a part of this week's Cards in the Mail collection.

For my card, I opted to use the solid side of the balloons, although the patterned side is equally adorable. This card is perfect for anyone's birthday and is sure to add a touch of fun to the celebration!

Technique Thursday . . . Masculine Cards

Last night was Technique Thursday and we worked on masculine cards.  A while back when we were on one of our jaunts to a demo event my friend and I found these awesome boxes and just knew they would be perfect for a card class.  

Now keep in mind we found these boxes at least a year ago if not two years ago and I was just now getting around to doing anything with them.  As you can see they are perfect for A2 size cards.

Since I procrastinated for so long some of the products I used for these cards retired in May but the match in colors is great.  These were the cards that were my samples but everyone could pick and choose what stamps and die cuts they wanted to use for their cards as long as they used early Espresso Ink.

Taco Fiesta

Today's card is one I made on the cruise back in February and one that I used for the Fun Fold Technique class last month.

I started with a base of Parakeet Party and stamped Happy Birthday all over the front of it with Parakeet Party ink.  I then punched a hole right in the middle of the card front.

The card's interior is a simple white color and has an accordion fold that opens to the right side. The main circular piece is attached in a way that it shows through the circle on the front, but also stands out when the card is open. Finally, the Gingham Ribbon is securely fastened with Mini Glue Dots.

Darling Details

I'm excited to share a card I made using the Darling Details stamp set and coordinating dies. I created this card at a demo event in Wisconsin and everyone made one on Monday night.

I love the layout of this card as it is different than I usually make.  I also like the DistINKtive stamp as it gives you the variegated shades for the inside of the flower blossom.  The Opaque Ovals are unique and I can see using them a lot this year.

Layering Leaves

Today I have used the Layering Leaves stamp set to make this card to share with you.  This is one of the cards that everyone made last night at Make-It-Monday and also one that I made at the demo event last month.

It's amazing how you can achieve two shades of the same ink color just by stamping off first. This technique helped me create a lighter color for the leaves inside and the roses. The Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folder perfectly complements the design and sentiment of the leaves and roses.

Hey Chuck

Today I am sharing another one of the cards we made at the demo event last month using the stamp set, Hey Check.

To create my card, I began with a  Pretty Peacock card base and layered it with embossed Basic White using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. I can see myself using that folder often in the future. Afterward, I stamped the image and colored it.  This was then layered onto another piece of Pretty Peacock.  The designer series paper was notched and layered underneath the focal piece.

Zany Zoo

As much as I despise raccoons, this one in the Zany Zoo stamp set is cute and he makes a fun card!!  If only they were that cute in real life!!  This is one of the cards that we made at the Demo Day in Wisconsin last month.

I started with a card base of Thick White cardstock and built from there with a layer of black and then a layer of Berry Burst which was embossed with one of the On-Line Exclusive Basics Embossing Folders.  The focal piece was then stamped and colored and layered onto another piece of Basic Black cardstock.  A sentiment and an embellishment and my card was done.

Coffee With Friends

I made a card using the Coffee With Friends stamp set and wanted to share it with you. It's one of the cards I created during a demo event in Wisconsin back in May.

For my card, I used a Pecan Pie base and added a layer of Basic White. I then layered a Watercolor Paper circle and designer series paper onto Early Espresso. The Opage Ovals and Wavy Trim gave the card a coffee bean-inspired touch and made for perfect embellishments.

In The Moment

Today I have used the designer series paper, Let's Go Fishing, to make this card to share with you.  It is pretty cool paper and it is even better this month since it is on sale!!

I started with a base of Thick Very Vanilla and layered Wild Wheat, Mossy Meadow, and Pecan Pie onto it.  The designer paper is layered onto Pecan Pie and then onto Mossy Meadow.  It is very hard to see in the photo but I chose one of the fish and cut out an extra one and popped it up on dimensionals.

Gone Fishing

I'm using a sentiment from the Gone Fishing stamp set today. Even if it wasn't a fishing set, I knew I had to have it just for this sentiment. My mom said it to me so often that if I had a nickel for each time, I'd be a rich woman!

To create this card, I began by using a Misty Moonlight card base. Then, I added a layer of Basic White and placed the designer paper on top. Although it may not be visible in the pictures, I used the On-Line Exclusive item, Radiating Stitches Dies, to create a small die-cut layer in Misty Moonlight. Next, I layered the sentiment piece on Gray Granite cardstock and attached it to the die-cut piece. To add dimension, I used dimensionals and embellished with Classic Matte Dots. And, the card is complete!

I have an early morning hair appointment, but the rest of my day will be spent organizing everything on tables and counters in my kitchen. I'm hoping that I won't have to use my living room, but it might be necessary.

Darling Details

Today I have used the Darling Details stamp set along with the gorgeous Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper to make this card to share with you.

I started with a Calypso Coral card base and added an embossed piece of Very Vanilla.  Next, I chose two coordinating pieces of designer series paper and layered them onto Calypso Coral and then onto the card.  The die-cut sentiment and the Iridescent Pastel gems were the last steps.

Today brings another day of getting ready for the garage (kitchen) sale this weekend.  Yesterday I dug out the two tubs of stuff I have been stashing away and today I am hoping to get the tables set up and start to put stuff out!!

Darling Details

Today I have used one of the sale designer series papers, Delightfully Eclectic, along with the stamp set, Darling Details to make this card to share with you.

To create my card, I began with a sheet of Fresh Freesia cardstock. Using the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder, I embossed the cardstock and then cut it into three 1-inch pieces. The remaining larger piece was used for the bottom of the card. I am pleased with how the embossing design blends with the black card base.

I think John's appointment yesterday was completed in record time . . .90 minutes from the time we walked out the door until we walked back in, even with 60 minutes in the car!!  That left the rest of the day to stamp, read, and watch a losing baseball game!!  Today I hope to finish up the Cards in the Mail packets, run some errands, and start to lay out or at least dig out my garage sale items.
